Can I install this ROM? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

So I found this on the XDA home page. It says SM-935A is required (I have SM-935U) BUT I thought that model number mostly applies to which carrier you're using...So if I flash the lates AT&T version via Odin can I then update to this Oreo build? Here's the article:

You need to get to AT&T firmware first , and then flash this update.

Thanks. I might hold off till there's a more stable build. If I didn't need to wipe everything I might give it a try.
But in case I change my mind, you extract the update.zip and apply update from sdcard, right?

So I currently have it installed. The only issue I'm having so far is that the light on my heart beat sensor is lighting up whenever anything gets extremely close to it.

How to flash ? I download it and flash by ODIN twice both fail
video is actually long tap press issue, which exist in many many android devices caused by not properly calibrated or poor hardware it is not really related to new update
this file host is giving me issues. I've downloaded 893mb and now it has slowed to 10kb/s which i think will probably error out soon.
It doesn't tell me the size of the entire file, it just comes in as it downloads (does that make sense?). Maybe a checksum?
If anyone knows the actual size of the completed file, that would be useful.
don't flash this on a US p600.
with no odin pda for my model to flash back to stock, I now have updated the firmware, bootloader and recovery to the Korean p600 update. that killed my wifi unfortunately and possibly some other things I haven't noticed yet.
any ideas how to get the old firmware back?
edit: I'm downloading the Taiwan ML1 firmware. hopefully it'll flash correctly and work. I'll report back
edit 2: back in business after flashing ML1. whew. won't make this mistake again

Flashing Another Region Firmware/Effect on Sim Usage

Hi!
I have an Indian Version of S7 Edge G935FD and I wish to flash the BTU version for the Nougat update.
I have a few queries first:
1. Can I use an Indian Sim (Or Any other country's Sim)on the rom? (The packaging has the Indian Sim Only label)
2. Will the network be smooth? I use 4G here. Are there any issues that I may face or any one of you faced?
3. Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

I have a few queries first:
1. Can I use an Indian Sim (Or Any other country's Sim)on the rom? (The packaging has the Indian Sim Only label) - Yes, you can use your normal SIM
2. Will the network be smooth? I use 4G here. Are there any issues that I may face or any one of you faced? - Yes, your network will work normally. You won't notice any difference. The only thing you won't have is VoLTE.
3. Anything else I should know? - Only do this if you want Nougat NOW. Otherwise wait until it's relased on your firmware. But you won't have any issues.
Thanks!

Thank You for the quick reply!
Yes. I am too excited for Nougat so I'm unable to control myself. The issue is there is no word on when the Nougat will come in India. The samsung officials have no comment except "There is no update about it yet" or "we do not have official timeline for nougat update in Indian market"
An official word on an estimated time frame for the update would work wonders. Is there any reason why I should wait?

One last question. The link given in another thread doesn't work or has download limit. Is this (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935F/BTU/) the correct site for official signed btu ?
and I am downloading odin and instructions from here: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-galaxy-s7-edge-nougat-ota-update/
Lots of info in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/android-7-0-s7-edge-uk-beta-program-apk-t3493696
Or this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/nougat-coming-january-17th-t3535831
Downloading from samfirmware is slow for non-premium members. There are other download links in those threads.
And yes, those instructions for Odin/flashing are correct.

Right. Started downloading through the samfirm tool . Will keep you updated just in case I'm doing something wrong.

Edit: Samfirm is fast. Got around 2000kb/s speed which is cool. No issues

Just unzip the download into a folder. There'll be 4 or 5 files. Just choose each one for the relevant section in Odin (you'll see it obvious) then flash it.

Finished the flashing process! Odin sort of showed a not responding title after I selected the ap file but I figured it was doing its job and waited patiently. It paid off! It finished loading and I started and flashed successfully. Boot up was fine and now I'm downloading a 1291.19 gb update!
Yay!

Yep, the AP file takes a short time in Odin to select as I think it just scans it first to check the md5 is correct.

I'm a relative noob to flashing rom's. Can someone tell me if I'm understanding this correctly?
Installing this update will *unroot* my phone? So after installing this update through odin, I will need to install twrp again while in download mode? And then, once that's installed, reroot my phone?

It's only for carrier S8's. They have no firmware for unlocked models.
You can flash QK5 through Odin and do it that way if you're on a US carrier and want bloat though.

I just updated my phone from that site and it works perfectly thru stocked recovery. They are all OTA updates so it will not wipe your phone. Only thing is when flashing from nougat to oreo change your themes back to pure stock or you will get system ui error, and have to factory reset

Help me identify the correct FW to flash/update to Pie 9.0

I have an Sprint Samsung S8. I want to update to Android Pie 9. Its currently on Android 8.0.0 - R16NW.G950USQU5CSA4. And I want to flash with Odin to any compatible Android Pie FW. I am personally not looking to unlock or anything. The confusing part is that when I research the FW version (G950USQU5CSA4) it comes as a Verizon FW. So I am not sure if is safe to flash any of the Pie FW available on sammobile for Sprint.
It is safe to flash for example to one like G950USQU5DSD3 that appears in Sammobile and is for Sprint?
