Coming here from the Redmi Note 4 forums, i would like to say that the back easily looks like an iphone X knockoff, The camera module could've looked way better and original if they would have placed it like mi a1, or if they could've changed the position to center. In short i am really let down, with the back panel looks. On the other hands, the Redmi Note 5 (Redmi 5 plus) looks far more better and has a signature styling to it. Hope that Xiaomi can fix it in the next iteration.

I think what he meant was it's a waste of space having the camera in the centre as it takes up space that could be better used for the battery.
How true that is I don't know though.

Mehh i still can't believe it. Ever popped open the back cover of redmi note 4? (Or have you ever watched a teardown video of redmi note 4) the large battery is easily tucked in the middle of the device. And the top part is occupied by the motherboard. I still don't get the point of that placement . Most of us Indians, and most the top notch indian tech YouTubers, are regarding it as an iPhone x knockoff. :crying:

I don't like how it looks either, its resemblance of the iPhone X is evident here, seems like they tried a change to make it look different from the regular Note 5 and they ended up copy-pasting the X.
The influence from Apple it is still there like it is on MIUI

No,hyderabadi

i mean i still rock my redmi note 3 cause the note 4 was trash bought it flashed RR on it (same rom as my redmi note 3) it felt like trash a downgrade only upgrade was the FULL black color...
SO yeah i like the design of the redmi 5/5 plus. but still dont want a phone with low end s625 cpu. so yeah the redmi note 5 pro with s636 looks like a upgrade and the design is nice, like finger print on the back, 6" but yeah full 4g?? i will wait for that version... but the design looks nice. but still micro usb from what i seen.. no hate atleast i wont have to change cables but yeah USB C would been a smart move... and maybe dual speakers... (with earpiece)

which one is better? black or lake blue?

Always bet on black.

Lake blue is best
Sent from my Redmi Note 5 Pro using Tapatalk

Black is the best because when your screen is off you will feel like you have a bezzel less device

Hi guys!
What do you think about the white (+gold back) version?

The black version is perfect for me over upgrade to my Redmi Note 4, flahed RR on both.
The 1 major flaw to me is the white only LED notification Xiaomi chose to put on the Note 5 Pro. I didn't know and turned out as a surprise to me after I bought the phone.

Don't call it 'poor'
Even if I have 3000$ to spend on a phone, I would pick Redmi note 5 pro.
It's pointless to spend so much on phones for extra unused speed and camera.
I would buy the best DSLR & powerful PC/Laptop with the leftover money instead of spending on useless processing power in phones.
I would call it 'I phone X' for elite and people who demand freedom

A mini-review.
Good Evening folks !
A mini-review about the device from a Xiaomi enthusiast !
My second Xiaomi phone (A Mi5 user)
Hope you enjoy reading.
Peace:highfive:
Cheeers !
5/5 so far, phone is amazing for this price.
Based on value, I think it's a solid 4/5, even when factoring in the slightly higher European cost through official retail channels.
This phone really makes you wonder why spend more than 200€, unless you're a heavy gamer or need the latest and greatest Android updates, or the best benchmark scores.
Would be perfect as an Android One device, hence the dropped star, but as it is I can highly recommend the phone to anyone despite MIUI.
I am surprised with great Battery Backup because 8 to 11 hour screen on time.
Camera Outstanding and Fast Camera shutter speed.
Screen Quality And Resolution Far Good.
I am Doubt about Fast Charging in Redmi Note 5 Pro.
I love it. This phone is powerfull in mid range class

I think it's great. Similar to xiaomi mi a1, same OS, better processor
It's looking great. In front is very similar to the Pixel 2XL.
Compared to virtually all other MWC devices that have been discussed in the media, this one takes the top stop when it comes to looks (together with the other Nokia devices). Due to the simple fact that it lacks an unsightly notch.
I really like this design, especially the black variant. And while the copper frame might not be everyone's taste, I really like it's look.

No it's exactly 2.3 times more expensive in my country the nokia 7+ costs 360$ while the mi a1 costs 160$. I could buy 2 mi a1 devices and still have 40$ instead of buying the nokia 7+
It's beautiful,classy
It looks very good! Before purchase I had my doubts about the white version, it looked feminine to me on the pics. In real life I think it looks great and fresh. The copper wouldn't be my choice, I would have gone for RVS- or Titanium-, or brushed-metal-look or something, like on the pic that's on top of the nokia 7 plus-forum. A friend of mine has the black version and I'm glad I have the white version, the copper color matches better with white, I think. The ceramic coating is way better than the glass- or plastic backcovers you see on other phones. I'm very satisfied with the looks and with the phone as a whole and can recommend it to everyone. It gives me the same happy and proud feeling as my great HTC One X once did. Chapeau bas for Nokia!

Honor 8x is great at holding many apps in background (10 apps and more with 2 games...it may hold more because 2,5 GB were still available) but you have to disable one setting called App launch under the Battery settings.

I don't really dislike Redmi note 6 pro but I have handled that device and I feel Honor 8x is better. Purely for software point of view, EMUI felt more natural and matured than MIUI. On 8.2, I haven't came across any issue that I felt like reporting whereas in MIUI there are such issues that you won't even know how to explain it properly and it goes months within any fix.
Redmi Note 6Pro is not that bad.

If you see Redmi Note 6Pro has Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset and Honor 8X has HiSilicon Kirin 710 Chipset, where Honor 8X has Mali-G51 MP4 Graphics and Redmi Note 6 Pro has Adreno 509. Rest all are mostly the same or similar.

Here it goes

Note 7 or Note 7 Pro

I have seen Xiaomi is going to release Note 7 in Feb 28 but I have been wondering that "It comes it with snapdragon 660 or 675?". If they release Note 7 with snapdragon 675, the Note 7 Chinese version will lose android development because no developer will buy it.

I'm talking about other factors, even my 3 years old Zenfone could take 48mp pics.
The rate increases by almost 50% for just camera and SD675 upgrade.
What 50% rate? If you are talking about price, you are mistaken. It will be 50USD more expensive than RN7 for the equivalent ram/storage variant. And thing about in screen fingerprint is a rumor based from that 48 Mp teaser photo. If the specs were based off the teaser, there would also be 24W charging and liquid cooling. But that would put this phone in above 300 USD price range which would basically make it more expensive than a Pocophone. And nobody would be buying it. But they are presenting it is a game changer, budget king and so on. Makes no sense from marketing point of view and is completely illogical business-wise. After all, all phone manufacturers are in the business of making money.
Don't board the sheep train. There will be no in screen fingerprint, only different cpu and camera sensor, eventually more ram/storage
the big thing for the pro is north american support. the note 7 doesn't support proper north american radios, the pro will, its the same with all previous generations

As far as I know only the processor is different between note 7 and note 7 pro. But it's not noticable when day to day use. Is there any difference between in these devices apart from processor.

I think note 7 is much more bang for buck in terms of value for money when compared to the note 7 pro.
the Rate at which technology and phones cycle now you need to upgrade yearly now to be on par with whats new, I would much rather spend on mid range once a year than buy pro or flagship and look outdated a year and half later...

Seems a hair faster and smoother than my 3Xl.
Hard to tell this early.
Coming from a Pixel 2, speed is far greater. Obviously I’ve moved up the game of screen performance too so can’t compare much.
I have used every Samsung for the last few years, then a 7T then and S20 FE, now a Pixel 3 for work and a Pixel 5. I abuse phones, work on them , they are my main work device , and the Pixel 5 is tiny fractions slower than the S20 Ultra when saving or opening large files, but it's meaningless fractions as doesn't slow me down. The balance of speed weight and size though is s delight, the S20 is a brick, ridiculously heavy. Google have got this spot on

Typing seems slightly laggy sometimes vs my 3xl, but way better at everything else. Odd.
I am quite satisfied with the overall speed, not experiencing any lags so far.

Everyone is different, the 7T and S20 are excellent phones but my job is working with Google and when you handle the Pixel 5, the smaller size, lighter and great battery it's a joy. I wanted clean Android as well so was an easy choice, but if you are used to huge screens you might miss it I dunno
