Heat - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Real Life Review

Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

Battery temperature is 38 digreeafter playing Asphalt 9 till 2 hours.
Must say that rn5pro is much cooler.
It only heats up a little while charging with stock charger.
Mi charger with QC3.0 is better

Can you share screenshots of battery temperature while charging when battery is ~70% and ~95%.
Because my RN5P reaches to 43-44 degrees while charging at ~60-70% and 38-39 degrees when ~95%, then cools down to 34-35 degrees while not charging.

Sometimes while playing heavy games like pubg mobile this phone hot and when Charging too. I think heat when charging can fix with update. Idk.

This phone is very cold, objectively. It only warms up when charging or using the camera heavily! Amazing coming from an S4 that overheated and throttled constantly.

Its Normal for metal build devices or use plastic devices for cool operating temperature

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the LG V40 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

With LeanDroid and some tweaking with services and wakelocks I get an average of 17 hours (4-6h screen on)..

I have an LG v40 and when I go out and you do not network, only wifi.I activate it in airplane mode and it has given me 20 hours with 7:30 hours of screen, in normal use with wifi, data and 2k screen I find the battery 12 hours and 6 hours of screen very short
Evan 3300mah backup like 4000
I mean it's fabulas
Charges quickly
After a Factory Reset, deleting all Bloatware and any app I don't want, disabling apps I can't delete but don't want ... my Charging Times have dropped INCREDIBLY ! ! !
From 25% +/- to full only takes 40 minutes.
As for battery usage, the number one thing is how bright the screen is ... Outside I run it at 90 to 100% ... daytime indoors I'm at 50 to 60% ... at at night I'm at 25 to 30% based on being able to use Black Background over the normal white Background .... and I went from about 5 hours screen time from 100% to 30% ... with the Factory Reset and only loading the few apps (30 apps instead of over 100), I'm now getting an easy 9 hours of usage before I hit 30% from full.
Thought thread said "charging speed," not sure why some are talking bout SOT and whatnot.. Anyway, I have the TMO variant and so freaking weird that I've never gone beyond 1200-1300 mAh on my V40, regardless of the charger or how much batterys left (10% or 50%) of course it changes fastest when it's mostly depleted and slows down as it's juiced but itm not getting anywhere close to what I should be getting.. Laptop charger has Power Delivery, but has no effect, have few QC3 wall plugs, even my portable brick w/ PD & QC3, same, no effect bon V40.. AccuBattery lets you see the rate so you can test which chargers/cable work best. I have a V30 too, it's running HAVOC, using the same chargers the V30 tops out at 3800-3900 mAh, done charging in 30 mins while the V40 is just chugging along, takes 1.5 hrs, yet its QC4 enabled and V30 has QC3?!
So weird it should be the other way around but it's not.
I'm 110% positive I've never reached even 1500 mAh on my V40, that's just pathetic. Is everyone else the same or just me?
I read a review, don't remember which one, that said the V40 was capable of QC4 though it comes with a QC3 charger

You pretty much answered the question yourself. To prevent overheating it charges slower. When it's turned off it generates less heat and can therefore charge faster. When ambient temperature is high it charges slowly.

I think it should not do this way.As the model is made for different regions so mine is made for my region and it should not charge slow then. What you say?

It's physics. There is absolutely no way for them to counteract the effects of warm temperatures other than to slow down charging. If you had air conditioning you'd probably be able to get fast charging to work.
The variants of a model generally don't have that many differences. It is a mass produced product after all. Mostly it's down to software. Occasionally RAM/storage configuration (which is also the case with this phone) and on rare occasions it goes deeper than that.

It seem to charge faster than the P20 Pro I had before I got this P30 Pro, I did check the charger and they are different, P30 came with charger with higher output
0-100 in less than one hour. Tried once but most often im between 20 and 90 percent and to charge it it needs around 45min or less. Great battery life and really fast charging, im super happy with it.

Very fast charging, just 10mins on the Super Charger gives me an extra 30% battery life.

Agreed, seems much faster for me I can get 20% in just the time it takes to make a coffee.
Apparently it can charge to half-full in just twenty minutes which makes sense if you're getting 30% in ten.
P30 Pro charging speed test
Charging and battery life are by far this phone's biggest strengths.
Never got it below 10% in my two months of use.
It's a monster!
The best that I had until today.
Incredible fast charge and a good battery life.
0 complaints about my P30 Pro's battery life, charging speed and even the heat afterwards.
I often forget to charge my phone and even when I do, it'll get me a third of the bar in no more than 10-15mins max which is more than enough to shower and get ready for work
It gets hot
Is it possible to disable fast charge when charging during night?

If u r using supercharger then no. Im using wireless charger to caherge it during night.
Not sure how anyone can rate it less than 5.
At least coming from a Pixel, the charge speed is incredibly fast. Combining the charging speed and the battery, I no longer need to charge overtnight but can start charging when I wake up and go to work with ~70 % battery and not worry about a thing.

Superb Charging Speed, Heat Built up
I've been using this phone for a few days, and I've used the charger the phone came with and also a generic charger 5V/2A. I'll be comparing with my Pocophone F1 which was my daily driver.
The charger that it came with charges super fast. 30W exceeding my charging speed expectations. However, with the high amount of watts, comes high heat as well. I've kept my casing on like all my phones, and the heat felt like I'm using the phone with max brightness, under the hot sun, while using navigation for a few hours drive. I would recommend taking the casing out and charge it.
The generic charger of 5V/2A is pretty respectable. I was expecting the charging speed to be super slow due to the huge battery of 5100mah. But honestly, the speed is what you would expect from a 5V/2A charger. There's almost no heat built up (from what I've read is better for the lifespan of the battery)
10/10 for me.
- PS I've never experienced a 50w or so, this is my first phone with such a high wattage charging.

Not the fastest, but that doesn't bother me. I spend most of the time at home or in my office so there's allways a charger at hand should I need one. I usually charge my phone when it drops under 40% and I charge it to 90%. This will take about 45 minutes. I didn't actually measure the time but I think this is pretty much accurate.
For me a good charge is 1hr and 45 mins for almost maximum battery using the standard included fast charger. Please note : ** Faster charges are available for purchase from Motorola.
using the samsung super fast charger that worked great on my note 10 plus. i dont have any issues with the charging speed.
