Hi. I'm on the hunt for my a new phone to replace my ageing Galaxy S5 Neo. I chose these two phones as they are within my budget and on the same price range.
Am i correct in saying the Helio P20 is better than the Snapdragon 625 in terms of battery life and a more "balanced" performance?
Does the speakers on the XA1 be sufficient enough on a London bus or a partly crowded high street?
Is it true the XA1's camera came from or derived from the older Z5 but with slightly better optics & optimization?
And would you guys (still) think Sony is better in terms of pushing updates especially monthly security updates, bug fixes, etc.?
Would love to hear your thoughts & advice please.
For screen and battery g5+. Camera overall and build sony.. i personally like the g5+, + it has a fp scanner and fhd screen and it shows the difference but processing whise Sony's p20 is better.. games are better on g5 bcz of the adreno. And the g5 supports 5ghz wifi but he sony has the better build.. i'm in the same dilemma and i think I'll opt for the g5 (non+) bcz of fp scanner and fhd . Daily use is the same in terms of processing and the camera well.. i can do with 13. And the 12 on the 5+is on par with sony. Updates are better on moto and more often and sooner. Speakers ar low on both but still enough. Hope it helps.
Are you certain Moto has faster updates? Ever since Lenovo took over the updates have become very slow & scarce. And that's the truth. Ask anyone and they will tell you.
I'm also concerned with the G5 Plus not having USB Type-C, No waterproofing, No any form of image stabilisation on camera and no Cat-6 4G LTE speeds. Obviously the first three maybe because of money-saving exercise or perhaps backward thinking as well?
Between this XA1's Helio P20 vs Samsung's Exynos 7870 (on the new Galaxy A3 2017) which you guys think would provide greater performance overall and leading to better battery life?
And in terms of camera and speakers which one you think is better?
Looking at battery test from GSMarena and Phonearena A3 is better (10 H 8 min vs 8 H 28 min and 93 hours vs 72 hours). But looking at benchmark test XA1 is better in performance. Also it has more RAM and internal memory.
I have started to not trust Sony with their "near stock" Android coz of seemingly eternal issues of overheating, slow camera boot, slow reset, slow app loading and poor battery life.
On the other hand the irony of ironies Samsung which has a skinned/slightly bloated Grace UX seem much more optimised. And yes Ive seen the GSMArena and PhoneArena reviews and battery life seem epic. Camera seem meh/so-so.
Hello Sirs, I would like to call everyone who has an interest in having the portability of Google Camera with the maximum possible resources, for our beloved Moto Z2 Play device, both developers to generate this compatibility as the sponsors in form of donation to these developers by the job.
I contacted @Arnova8G2 who is currently the main developer of such compatibility with more smartphones.
He asked to run the test with the Camera2 Test application, in which I am attaching the report here in this post.
I would like the manifesto of all those interested in being willing to make donations and to the developers who proposes the possibility of bringing this feature to Moto Z2 Play.

Actually Moto Z2 Play has no Camera2 implemented, so I think it won't be possible.
At least not on stock ROMs.

In the ResorectionRemix rom have a google apk camera modifiet for our sensor.
But the apk is little outdated. We need some one to modify the new version whit fixed autofocus.

This version is very old from 2015 if I'm not mistaken. Versions 3 4 and 5 have already popped up so it seems an updated modded version would not hurt
I use the 360 mode only. If the new version has some other features I'd be curious. I use my stock camera app for most pics.

That camera won't have the HDR+ which is what is meant by porting Gcam. I posted in the apps thread today one that has HDR+ and is ported for 32bit.
Google camera 6.1 (pixel 3) working relatively stable.

- Use the app configured as it comes.
- Only change HDR min and max frames to 28 (36 may be too much for our cpu, i had fc's).
- The night sight mode only will work on devices up to 3gb of ram memory.
Bugs: camera does not focus and save pictures (in normal -no HDR- mode)
Tested on a Moto z2 play (albus) running lineageos 15.1.
Obviously requires 64 bit OS (only custom roms)

just got a brand new op8p 8gb ram version (from aliexpress) , updated to latest OOS (android 11) but super disappointed to see 4k videos having an immediate stutter. the phone is clean, no other apps installed. why does this happen? i upgraded from a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and i feel like camera wise, so far with stutter this seems potentially a worse phone...
