rooting my S5 with new Marshmallow update

I have a S5 with the new Marshmallow update via the Telus network in Canada. I had root for the Lollipop but took it out so I could update without problems. Lo and behold the Marshmallow update went in without a hitch but when I tried to flash TWRP with ODIN it didn't work. Am I missing something or does rooting the Marshmallow update require a new TWRP version? I used TWRP and SUPER SU last time to root Lollipop and al I did was put SUPER SU in a folder and flashed TWRP and then installed SUPER SU with TWRP and I was rooted. I just want the easiest step by step way to root my S5 again with the Marshmallow update. My provider is Telus from Canada.
Which model S5?
Unless MM locked your bootloader, TWRP 3.0.0.0 and SuperSU 2.71 beta are what I used to root MM
ODIN 3.10.7

SM-G900W8VLU1DPD3 Baseband Version Model #SM-G900W8 Build# MMB29M.G900W8VLU1DPD3 These are all the pertinent numbers. Do you have the steps needed to unlock and then ROOT. I'm not sure if the bootloader is locked. Hopefully you can help me get rooted again.

I wasn't thinking when I first read your post. If you"re looking for the MM Firmware I think I have what you are after. I got it from the S Mobile site, so if the guys don't mind me posting it with this reply here it is. I just tried to upload it and it's too big so if you have a way please tell me how and I'll get it to you. Even zipped it's like 1.2 GB.

I actually updated through Samsung Kies. And re-rooted. Though I haven't found an ASOP ROM that works with the MM bootloader

PLEASE HELP! Galaxy S5 G-900V stuck in a bootloop, and odin has auth error

Please Help! :crying:
My s5-g900v got stuck in a bootloop after a failed root attempt, and when I try to use ODIN to restore the stock firmware, it always says:
Fail! (auth)
Complete(Write) operation failed.
PLEASE HELP ME!
You need to install a lollipop firmware like ok3 or pb1 download either from Sammobile and then flash with odin.
search XDA for ok3 root the using that method gain root. I think it is a sticky in the xda s5 verizon forum
you may also be able to unlock your bootloader check out unlock bootloader thread for kk-mm for s5 verizon I think it is a sticky in the XDA s5 verizon forum.
Hope this helps
Ps
once you get root
go to Brens123 guide I booted ncg on pb1 bootloader to get 4.4.2 KitKat on your s5 it's a thread in verizon s5 general on xda
except the bootloader will still be lollipop so its not a full downgrade

Root Sm-G930P on Android 7.0 (N) PLN

Hello,
I am running an SM-G930P with Nougat PLN firmware. I downgraded it to PK1 Marshmallow firmware to root it, and used this root method: https://idoneapps.com/forum/index.php?topic=616.0
It worked perfectly. However, when I tried to use the Nougat update file, it said it was corrupt. When I tried to root it in Nougat, it began bootlooping. Is there any way to root it in Nougat? All I need to really know is how to install TWRP.

There's not a way to root on Nougat yet, especially since it's on a beta firmware. TWRP isn't available on U.S Snapdragon Galaxy S7's as our bootloaders are locked.

You'd want to downgrade to PL6 and the flash the unlocked PL2 to root, but TWRP still isn't possible.
as many have said. ZERO TWRP UNTIL BOOTLOADER GETS UNLOCKED (which probably won't happen) /thread closed

need help please rom flashing problems

hi hope i'm in the right place, my sm-g935f had an error with an ota update and got brick with the error binary locked with frp lock or something like that. i'm trying to downgrade from oreo to mashmellow and on odin it fails as soon as i start, same goes for when i tried nougat, can someone please help the only rom that flashes is oreo
official rom you can only install the latest version. Android 6 or 7 only to custom roms ported from other devices. Blocking the bootloader does not allow you to downgrade.

It's failing when you flash in Odin because you have a higher bootloader/binary. When you try flashing 6.0 or 7.0 software eventhough it's stock Samsung firmware, your Binary number is higher than the binary on the 6 or 7.0. This is from what I've seen been talked about here and elsewhere. Do you have to Downgrade?
