Will downgrade to stock marshmallow change baseband version? I am on 1.76 and facing this issue, but if I downgrade and baseband version changes, then I won't be able to install most of the 8.1 roms.

You have to Update your rom to Nougat or Flash baseband Seperately.

I am on nougat, problem is the above error. But to fix it, it says I install marshmallow rom, which is fine. But then if I want to use 8.1 roms, I would need to again flash baseband 1.76 or stock nougat which would mean bootloader being locked again. Am I missing something here?

The guide itself says that doing this can result in bootloader being locked, which if happens would mean I would be at the same place again. Can't unlcok 1.76 nougat stock, so go back to marshmallow but then to use 8.1 roms I would need to again flash 1.76 nougat stock which will have bootloader locked with no means to unlock it if not going to marshmallow again. Sorry, but am I getting this wrong?

No no you got it all wrong.
Install any Nougat rom preferably Zui 2.5 Deodexed. And then Flash Baseband file from the zip provided in Zukfans forum. And after flashing Baseband flash your bootloader_unlocker.img file (I'll post the link and instructions in next Post) to be on safer side then you're good to go flash any Rom you'd like.

The link you shared just lists the 1.76 baseband, it does not show any link to download the said rar file it lists. For all other baseband versions, there is a gdrive link to download the rar file.

Look into the name of the rar of the Baseband you want and download the zip from gdrive.

Mobile Network Problem
I was having problems with the network signal after i flashed CM12 then back to GPE (Luge) version, so i installed stock KK but still no signal. Luckily i downloaded the file that was previously atached to GPE ROM post.
Text from the Gpe post:
"NOTE: if you're currently on anything other than 185.46.10, download and flash the 185.46.10 FXZ from the link at the bottom of the op.
security versions for partitions are not upgraded from 183.46.10, so you can always flash back to 183.46.10 if you want to."
Apparently Luge GPe modifies partition security and it prevent from downgrade, fastboot use to show me up the error "downgraded security version".
The file tha FIX my problem was:
VERIZON_XT907_4.4.2_KPA20.10.1_cid2_BASE_1FF.xml.zip
if anybody need it i would help.

I removed that attachment because there is a link to the full fxz in the op.
You probably didn't need to reflash anything.
The commands in the xml that likely fixed your issue are:
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
These commands erase stored modem data.
If you still have radio issues, you can reflash NON-HLOS.bin and fsg.mbn.
Also, as mentioned in the op, the security version for 185.46.10 is NOT upgraded from 183.46.10.
I am able to flash back and forth without any issues.
NO IMEI

Somehow I screwed up everything again, now im stuck on 4.4.2 without IMEI (IMEI 0).
I only can flash:
VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml
VERIZON_XT907_4.4.2_KPA20.10.1_cid2_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml
I'm on unlocked BL and able to flash custom recovery, I tried:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
And flashed:
NON-HLOS.bin
fsg.mbn
But stiil NO IMEI (IMEI 0)
Does anyone have an alternate link to VERIZON_XT907_4.4.2_KPA20.10.1_cid2_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml.zip ? motofirmware.com seems to be down.

I'm having very very similar issues can't get my phone to register properly on Verizon it will say its connected but no data then drop to no service however when it says its connected it won't send and receive calls or texts.. Also After test driving lollipop. Link to the firmware that saved your phone would be awesome! Thanks in advance.
motofirmware.com appears to be up and running again; it's not as elaborate as before, just a simple ftp folder.
i've added the names of files to search for to the gpe op...
how to flash the delta..
tomfoolery galore for me. have edited this post 3 times now. Looks like I am back to where I wanted to be. Mods delete this please.

Possible soft-bricked M9, access to bootloader and recovery (international version)

Hello!
So I've managed to get myself info a few technical difficulties. After wiping the entire phone (internal storage and system as well....), I installed the Viper ROM. After completing the install process without any problems, my phone boots directly to the bootloader menu every single time. I made sure that the firmware version was up to date before deleting the stock ROM (Reminder to next time: backup)
Bootloader screen info:
Software status: Modified
Unlocked
S-ON
I've tried with different ROM's (MaximusHD, Skydragon) with the same result every time. I can access both download and recovery mode. I installed SuperSu with the .zip file through TWRP, without luck. Wiping cache, factory reset and similar doesn't seem to do anything.
What do I do now? I bought the phone in Norway so my best guess is that I have the international model. All help is much appreciated
Anyong
Edit: This is the M9 and not M9+, could admin please move this thread to the right forum?

Did you receive the OTA upgrade from HTC to install Marshmallow? Or did you try to upgrade it yourself?
If you're trying to install a Marshmallow custom Sense rom with an old firmware (2.x), then you will have to return to Lollipop and wait for official OTA as Marshmallow (Sense, not AOSP) needs your firmware to be upgraded. Or you can turn s-off and flash a 3.x firmware

Thanks for responding. Downloaded this ROM:
"Europe Base 1.90.401.3 - CleanSlate 1.2.3
CleanSlate-europe-full-odexed-1.2.3.zip 1.97 GB"
Transfered to internal storage and flashed. Flashing process is done withing 5 seconds, but nothing happens. Attatched image of phone when finished.
Boots back into bootloader when rebooting the phone. Any suggestions?

[Guide]Easiest and safest way to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.0

Here is what I did to downgrade from 6.0 to 5.0:
1- Download and Install all the required drivers
https://mega.nz/#!tENxTCYI!U_2KD352HgqqsK2qkY7g4xsUIVMhHwOol9aiiDMIs28
2- Download the asus flash tool 1.14
https://mega.nz/#!JF91lazI!lQSdQcN5YXIFsaCWtTVHfsvGK1u82NKvy8-X9XIfR0g
3- Download the Latest WW_ZE551ML_2.20.40.194_20160713.raw firmware [Mega Mirror]
https://mega.nz/#!MRtTCCzZ!c2qoqIX8drgNRy2KxPV_iiBVKHoW2ppFdwRUsLjIWq4
4- Use the ASUS flash tool to flash the raw image
-Double click the ASUS flash tool Icon to launch it
-reboot your phone on bootloader mode and connect it to your PC
-Choose your device from the list which is in ASUS flash tool
-Locate the raw image
-Click on the serial number which appears on the screen within ASUS flash tool
-Select wipe data
-Click the start button to start flashing
-Wait until you see the message successfully flashed
Note that the whole flashing process takes about 6 minutes.
Enjoy!

Hi, I do not speak English very well, but I'll try.
First go to the website of Asus, and download the firmware .. 184 or this link (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Ze...user.zip?_ga=1.147549438.850793534.1463019251) and put the external SD Card!!!
NOTE: If your bootloader is similar to the image (with the blue letters ..), you just need to step 3 of this my turorial
ht*tp://www*androidheadlines*com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/asus-zenfone-2-google-howto-1.jpg (remove "*" again^^)
1. Go to this page (https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/) and follow the steps of the second method..
1.1 Download Z00A_WW_2.20.40.184 version (https://mega.co.nz/#F!k4MHiAgL!dVuOKeH3eokcwPSNI79ffw)
1.2 Download and extract FlashTools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3301263&d=1431011927)
1.3 Extract Z00A_WW_2.20.40.184_system_w_root.zip (for step 1.1) and put the "system.img" in the folder of FlashTools together with "boot.img", "droidboot.img" and "recovery.img"
2. Now follow the steps of the second method (https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/), from step 7 to 11;
3. Also I was stuck in the bootloader after this procedure... BUT, you need to download this file (the first method): http://www.mediafire.com/download/v6m7n9j0gqins9b/CWM_Zenfone_2_Intel.zip;
3.1 And follow the steps from 1 to 9 (the first method): https://www.techmesto.com/root-zenfone-2/... EXCEPT: The steps include the root (you do not need the root ..)
3.2 When you are already in CWM recovery, only install the firmware 184 (of start.. of Asus) which is in the external SD Card ... and end ^^.
3.3 I recommend wipe data / factory after starting the device first time...

If you end up bricked
.and you didn't do any crazy cmds in fastboot mode.
Check my signature
I had been running the MM beta up until this point. I just flashed the .184 RAW file. What made me go back you ask? I figured out that Google Opinion Rewards was not working. I can't live without that.
I can confirm that this method works for ZE550ML on mm beta .69 firmware. I downloaded AFT and flash RAW (Lollipop .149 firmware). Successfully downgraded bootloader unlocked and flashed CM13.
P.S. My status before downgrade was unrooted and bootloader locked and was on .69 mm beta build.

Here's the link for unlocking bootloader on lollipop
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/tool-one-click-bootloader-unlock-root-t3155884
Also there's a method by shakalaca to unlock bootloader in mm beta. I haven't tried it personally because many report that their phones got bricked and most of them could be recovered by xFSTK method.

[HELP]SIMs missing (baseband suffix changed to DFLT_FSG) Fingerprint revived

Hi all I have unfortunately lost the proper baseband for my device (XT1643-indian model g4 plus 3gb/32gb)
Prior to posting this, I had my fingerprint lost too. My stupidity was flashing the june fastboot firmware I found on one of the links for motorola rsd cloud clients. :/ With the help of @echo92 i was able to revive the missing fingerprint by pushing hw.img to /dev/block/mmcblk0p43 but still the SIMs won't show up as the baseband has changed to MSM8952_70030.25.03.62.01R DFLT_FSG
I have tried flashing the modem and fsg partitions from the March 1 ROM but still no solution
Any kind of help would be appreciated

Flashing the modem file for you device didn't change the baseband version? Meaning it didn't remove the suffix at the end...
What happens if you flash a complete stock ROM via fastboot for you device? One that includes all of the files...

I actually had made these backups specifically for such conditions but i'm unable to find them as of now. I have been able to get the Sims working somehow with @Droidphilev 's flashable modem zip (Available here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/fxz-flashable-stock-npjs25-93-14-4-t3623010 ). But the baseband I have after flashing this zip is M8952_70030.25.03.62.01p ATHENE_EMEA_DSDS_CUST . Let's see what can be done to revive my phone fully.

I FLASHED THE MODEM FILE SPECIFIED ABOVE, BUT STILL BASEBAND SUFFIX IS DFLT_FSG
I'M ON INDIAN XT1643
HELP PLEASE
My problem started as i was using 7.1.2 AOSP custom rom
then i switched back to MM Stock rom
Everything was fine till i received June Nougat Update
during update my phone went blank
Somewhere with the help of XDA i found a blankflash file and got bootloader back
then i flashed TWRP and wiped full system, cache, and everything
then through fastboot i installed nougat xt1643, xt1626-40-41
i tried every possible firmware, every modem file available.
Still my fingerprint and SIMs are not working
my bootloader is B1.06
I cant downgrade bootloader and gpt.bin even with unlocked bootloader, my model is switched to g4 i think
i can only flash bootloader and gpt of june update
rest all firmwares give Security Downgrade error
Help me please!!!
How did you solved the fingerprint problem.

[SOLVED] Fastboot Flash failes after firmware update

Hello all,
I have flashed my p9 lite (VNS-L31C432B390) to the newest B390 firmware using official update routine and therefore flashing stock recovery via fastboot before updating. Now I wanted to reflash TWRP in order to get root back (I had done this before with B380 and B388 update, never having issues), but when I try the flash command in fastboot it says "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)"
After some research, I found that this normally indicates a locked bootloader, but both on the screen of the phone (when in bootloader) and via fastboot (fastboot oem get-bootinfo) bootloader is shown as unlocked.
I just can't figure out what may have caused flashing not to work anymore... Anyone with similar issues after latest update?
EDIT: The solutionwas to re-unlock the bootloader (just perform "fastboot oem unlock PERSONAL UNLOCK KEY). Thanks to AndreaEl for suggesting the solution.
i have had the same problem some days ago.
Re unlock bootloader and try again
Thank you very much, I'm definetly gonna try, although I really hoped to spare me this factory reset

B160 -> B370(TWRP) -> B390(Firmare finder DNS method)
i have do like this

Re-unlocking the bootloader did the job for me... Afterwords I was able to flash TWRP again over fastboot... So this can be considered as solved...
As for my update method, I found the easiest way is to get official OTAs (I've got the B390 as official OTA, maybe not yet available in your region) by temporarely switch back to official recovery. As this thread shows, there may be minor problems and root will be lost after update. As always, you are performing these steps at your own risk. These are the steps:
- get an official recovery image from an official Huawei firmware (search here on the forums). Unzip it and use Huawei Extractor to extract recovery.img from update.app
- Flash it in fastboot mode (fastboot flash recovery /Path/to/recovery.img)
- Download update via Huawei's software update application
- Let it perform the OTA. This step is likely gonna fail, no problem though, just reboot.
- Software Updater will state that the update failed and start to download the full firmware package, which is way bigger (~2GB). Update with this one will work though...
- Performing the update will unroot, just flash latest TWRP and SuperSu like shown in many guides on this forum to regain it

Tried that, it doesn't work. And I'm at B381 by the way. See when I try to send the firmware update to the updater app and install it, nothing changes. The installation completes and after reboot, when I check from about phone I see that I'm still in B381(at least according to it )
