Check if lens if fitted properly (not covering any sensor) and the quality of lens itself(plastic or glass). Try other camera with different settings and see if it is still there.
Mostly issue would be of lens itslef.

[Q] Quality of Front Facing Camera

Just recently my front facing camera has gotten really bad and I do not know why. I am going to include two pictures I have taken. The first one is a perfectly normal picture and the second one is crappy as hell, blurry as can be and looks like a webcam from the 90s.
Both pictures quality is 1900x1080 just the quality is drastically different. I recently updated to 4.3 and right after that the quality of the camera was the same as the first picture... hours later I took a picture and its quality mimics that of the second one. Any ideas? It isn't focusing, obviously I'm not zooming. I don't know what the problem is.
Does anyone have the .apk for the camera i could possibly re-install??
Also here is a test i just did. I took a picture with snapchat and I saved the image, this picture is #3.
I then went into the Camera and took a picture again and this is its quality, blurry.
I am definitely starting to think that the camera is bugged.
I have noticed that noise removal kicks in on mine when taken in dim light. The ISO on the front camera is high and I find the pictures are noisy unless taken in bright light and noise removal is only applied if the light is dim enough. The 3rd picture looks quite a bit noisy and it looks like the automatic noise removal was applied to picture 2 and 4.

I have exactly the same problem with the blurred effect. Did you find the solution?

Front Facing camera

Hey!
I can't seem to find any samples or anyone even showing or mentioning the results of the front facing camera in any review.. From what I have seen on the z1 is that the pictures of the front facing camera are grainy like crazy if the light isn't perfect. Anyone knows if the slightly better hardware of the z2 camera gives out a better end result? Maybe anyone of you can link to some pictures on the web.
Thanks!
The front camera is just a 2mp ish camera which really all you want it for is 'selfies' which it will do the job.
From the samples I have seen Im pretty pleased with the results of the rear camera and low light pictures definately look acceptable.
Im on the LG G2 now and the camera is awesome, the pictures I take are amazing, until the light starts to fade, then it takes about 3 seconds to focus, if the object is moving its blurry and looks like a cartoon. Im just hoping the Z2 gives me the awesome pictures in daylight and ok pictures in low light which are not blured, that will do me. But as always I wont know until I test under my own uniqe conditions.

My G2's Camera Sucks under Light.

Hello, I have this problem for a while. My phone is taking really bad pictures under fluorescent light (see the 1st pic). To solve this I have applied "tootpaste solution" which removed the AF filter from camera lens, because pictures were all blurry and brighter but it did not help. However the only solution is to covr the head of my phone like a cap. (see the 2nd pic)
Now the question is whether I have to change my rear camera or lens protector to solve this. Thanks for your answers.
Phone is full stock?
did you try to change the white balance in the camera app for taking pictures under flourescent light?

Yes but it made a very little difference.

Can you use the wide angle (back) camera to take selfies?

Hi all - it sounds like the front (selfie) camera does not take the best pics.
One of the uses I wanted for the G6 is to use the back camera (the wide angle one) to take selfies instead.
I won't be able to see the screen, but with the wide angle lens, I don't really need to do much framing I'm guessing.
The only thing that I'm concerned about is the lack of auto focus and if the wide angle camera can focus on subjects about 1 metre away from them.
Does anyone have a G6 who could comment / or post a sample pic of this? This is pretty much the dealbreaker for me to get this phone.
Cheers!
I'm interested in the same question! Would be great if anyone could comment on this, hence bumping this thread.
Yes. Front facing camera is not as good as it should be. Specially in low light situation...
This, and lack of LED notification light are the biggest flaw to me
Back cameras takes good selfies though. I don't have any problem with framing or autofocus. Does a good job with defocusing background and shaking effect is at minimum thanks to new image stabilizing system.
Hope this help you
Cheers
Someone here at xda calculated that all things between 35cm and infinity are in Focus for the wide angle camera.
I also made some tests and I think that he is not totaly wrong with his 35cm.
So taking selfies should be ok.

[Camera issue] stretching sides?!?

hey guys
I have seen this problem in my xc rear camera photos and also in one my friends' xc, so I was wondering if there is a fix or if it is hardware issue or software related,
photos taken by rear camera seem to stretch the sides of the picture and also are a little blurry in sides
for example if you take a picture of a bunch of people standing next to each other, you notice that faces in the sides of the picture are a little stretched and not in real size!!!

I have noticed the same thing. In portrait photos too the heads look stretched vertically. Not happy at all. I'm going to be selling this phone. To be honest my old Xperia Z took better portrait photos than this one.
This is mostly due to the optics of such a small image sensor and super small flat plane lens atop the camera. Anytime the focal length and the lens curvature are not perfect you get some blurring, and they are only perfect at a single point in any camera systems range of focus.
The stretching of the sides is due to the super short focal length/wide angle lens. Same issue happens if you stick a 14mm close up/fisheye lens on a slr camera. This portion of the problem is often corrected for in higher end cameras with software, Sony recently pushed an update to other xperia phones with the same or similar camera to run the algorithm to correct the un-equal representation.
Compounding the issue :
Smaller flat plane optics cause a lot of chromatic abortion as you radiate out, it's the worst in the corners. This gives it a vignette style are of focus and is just not avoidable either.
Sony made the choice to do a lot of image smoothing to hide their noisy camera and it also happens to hide the abortion as a blur effect. I'd rather have the abortion personally than loosing details in a blur.
