Hello I'm looking for some help with my wife's phone . Ever since I updated the firmware to the latest the camera has this weird bug. When I take a picture in the dark the flash turns of before the shot is taken . Almost like the shutter is lagging. Any help would be appreciated.

i've played so far with three custom roms: PRIMEE_p9_davids_mod, Virtuous_Thrive_v.1.0.1 and Lightspeed_1.0.1. each has its merits, but my biggest problem (so far) is that the camera app does not work properly with any of the non-acer based roms: i get a black screen with the back facing camera. the front camera works (so i can only take pictures of myself!). Lightspeed (based on stock acer) doesn't have this problem.
anybody else seen this? any suggestions?

i just put this ROM on my acer and now cannot take videos with the back camera. Front works fine like you said. Also it keeps saving video files to my SD when i am clearly not taking any if i try to open them nothing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have black camera screen too ,, on rooted stock 3.2, it takes pics but i get no preview,, and cant focus..
It's all fun and games until someone loses a camera!

I have a Defy for more than a year now and I finally decided to flash it. So now, i'm using it with miui rom (2.3.7a).
But since i've flashed it, i have some problems with the camera. I can't take picture in "macro", when i'm too close from the things i want to take in picture, the image is fuzzy. The camera don't focus anymore, it's very annoying because i take a lot of picture wit my phone..
Is someone here who has already had this problem? can i fix it and how?

I have the same problem with this update, but my camera is locked in macro mode.
I have tried android 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, CM7, and now i'm using MIUI but the camera is almost useles...

I see that i'm not alone with my camera problem. ^^
I tried to change my rom this week end, I installed cm7 but sadly, the problem is still here, and nobody seems to know how to solve it. Could we install an other "camera application" or something like that, could it solve the problem or do you tqink it will be the same?

okay i just got my new s4 yesterday, took a few photos with it and it all worked amazing.. and then i upgraded its android from 4.2 to 4.3 (it asked me if i want to upgrade). but i didn't try the camera again until later in the evening.. i opened the stock camera app- it was blurry. and i mean blurry as hell.. it couldn't focus anything, like the focus didn't worked at all.. i could only see clear image if i bring the phone very very close to the thing i want to see.. and when i shaked my phone a bit, i could hear the lens inside jumping.. restarting the phone didn't helped.. and after about half an hour i tried the cam again, it magicaly fixed itself.. so far it focuses very good, but im afraid that this problem could happen again. so, i guess it's either a hardware problem, or the newer android version, i'm not sure.. anyone had the similiar problem?
Hello guys, I'm on nitrogen OS. With elementalx 4.0. My camera was working great till today morning. I even made a whatsapp video call. I don't know what happened after that. Now whenever I open the camera app it's extremely dull. Even with a bright background it's very dull. I can only see TV or my laptop screen. After I take the pic, it comes out a little better. But not like before. Any ideas? Help me please

I had same problem with 7.0.0 90x .. it's problem with software, so you don't need to worry about camera
I don't have any idea how to fix it ..but all works great on beta 7.1.1

My problem.
When i use the flash to take a picture in low light or darkness my pictures come out black or reaaaaly dark.
The flash either goes off to fast or is to short. It only seems like a micro second.
When i focus the camera it does emit the light to focus.
The solution i found.

I am getting very annoyed by this problem and the fact that i spend 3 hours searching for a solution i cant apply had me mad as hell.
Edit: forgot to metion i tried all options i could think of with the camera setting. Even downloaded a 3rd party program called camera vf5
