SM-J500F/DS cannot boot

Hi to all,
had root this device on 6.0.1 with TWRP. Now I needed a full reset due to a Bluetooth problem to check if its root/software related. BUT on my mistake I erased EVERYTHING through TWRP (Dalvik/ART Cahe,System,Data,Internal Storage,Cache, Micro SD, Android Secure, USB-OTG)
Tried to install custom rom Aospextended but I don't know the how to and I am lost in forums.. the phone doesn't boot... after zip file installation the screen fades to somewhat yellowish like LCD problem... I can still access TWRP..
p.s. I am an iPhone guy and just tried to fix this for my son... hope for your understanding for probably asking something very common..!
ANY HELP WOULD BE greatly appreciated even to get back to stock rom
Many thanks in advance!

You must go to section Samsung j5 2015 you will find all you need, since restoring to stock, rooting, installing the correct TWRP for your device....and more.
You NEED to READ because too much information for one post, but this is the correct place for you.
Pay attention the correct files TWRP for 601 because there are TWRP for lollipop devices, and when choosing ROMs you MUST downgrade your firmware to Lollipop, that's the reason for artifacts and greenish screen because of incompatibility of TWRP and there are ROMs that you can install with twrp601, others need booltloader and twrp lollipop. Hope you are nota blind anymore

I had the same problem when flashing Lineage 14.1 on my phone (J500M), screen fadding with a green-yellowish color and no boot. That happened because I was trying to flash the custon Rom with the wrong base. I was using 6.0 before flashing and Lineage requires you start from 5.1.
All I need to do was search for my device on sammobile.com , get the right stock firmware and use Odin to flash the rom on my device. From there I was able to flash TWRP again and install Lineage correctly.

You have two solutions, you can restore your phone STOCK ROM with Samsung Smart Switch or downgrade to Lollypop firmware and install any custom rom trough TWRP.
Restore to STOCK:
Use Samsung Smart Switch, see howto here
Downgrade to Lollipop:
Install only Bootloader/Modem [6.0.1/5.1.1]BOOTLOADER AND MODEM FOR J500xx [Downgrade more easy] (Collection)
Downgrade to Lollypop (full ROM) (Tutorial) Upgrade J5 (2015) to 6.0 and Downgrade to 5.1.1 + Rooting

I will recommend you to first upgrade your Android version to lollipop with latest firmware version ww-3.24.40.87 .
After upgrading, root your device and after that unlock your bootloader.
For rooting method, search in Asus zenfone 5 forum.
And for unlocking bootloader you can visit this link below-
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-safely-t3562640
After unlocking bootloader you need to flash the TWRP Recovery. You can unlock bootloader and install twrp together in just one click. For that just visit the above link provided.
Now I'm assuming that you have rooted your phone and also your bootloader is unlocked and latest twrp is installed. So now head over to "Android development" forum of zenfone 5 and search for Resurrection Remix 5.8.2 by tank0412. This ROM is stable and also the developer is providing weekly updates.
I hope that this will help you out.

Yes. T00F and T00J both are same.
Just download it from official Asus website.
Just remember your SKU which is ww, tw, or cn.
To check your SKU, go to settings - about phone - and there check which firmware you have officially.
If you have WW firmware then you have to download ww firmware from the Asus website.
Eg. WW > WW
TW > TW
CN > CN
I successfully rooted and unlock the phone.
I failed to update the firmware.
My phone build number (KitKat) is that ASUS_T00J_WW_user_2.22.40.54_2015......
I downloaded and tried to flash the firmware UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-3.24.40.87-user
While updating it shows an error message,
Please use the right SKU for updating.
Please guide me the firmware with right SKU for my phone.

If your phone is rooted and you have successfully unlocked the bootloader with TWRP installed then now you are ready to install the custom nougat ROM. No need to upgrade your android version with stock firmware. Just proceed forward and follow what I'm saying -
Click here to download Ressurection Remix v5.8.2 nougat ROM
Visit the above link and download the RR ROM.
After downloading the RR ROM, now you have to download the GApps Pico 7.1 x86
Put the downloaded ROM zip file and GApps zip file in your external memory card.
Now steps for flashing the ROM -
1. Reboot to recovery.
2. Go to Wipe section - Advanced Wipe, and then select the cache, dalvik cache, system, data, internal.
After selecting the above, now swipe to wipe.
3. After wiping, go back to wipe section again and tap on "Format Data", and type "yes" and press ok.
4. After formatting completed, go back to main screen and then go to Install section, and locate the ROM zip file. Select it and swipe to flash.
5. Now your ROM is flashed, so go back again and select the GApps zip file and swipe to flash.
6. Now flash the SU Addon (If you want the root access) (OPTIONAL) If you don't want then you can skip this step.
7. Now your ROM and GApps both are flashed, so now go back to main screen again and then go to reboot section, then select "REBOOT SYSTEM"
That's It. You have successfully flashed the new nougat ROM.
First boot will take approx. 5 - 10 mins.

Another information is that recovery is Pinaslang version 2.8.6.0.
I think recovery based on TWRP.

You cannot flash nougat ROMs with twrp 2.8.6 ,.... As you will end up with several errors so better switch to latest twrp I.e twrp 3.0 xx versions by xanwar . after that you can follow juyels method of flashing the ROM .
Download the twrp version from below link .
1:If you downloading zip file then flash through your old recovery and reboot to recovery .
2: if you downloaded .IMG file then flash through fastboot using the below code
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <filename>.img
Link for latest twrp : here
Dear Friends,

Thanks, I installed successfully the unofficial TWRP 3.2.1-0 (TWRP_lineage_ghost-08051822.img) to my Moto X 2013 (XT1053).
But I notice my device model is now "lineage_ghost". This cause conflict with ROMs like "xpe_10.0.2_r66-20160929-ghost" or "aokp_ghost_mm_unofficial_2017-09-18_0933". Tomorrow (May16/2018) I will test the ROM "lineage-14.1-20170212-NIGHTLY-ghost" with this TWRP due right now I'm in a Chromebook.

At the end, this TWRP changes the device name to "lineage_ghost" and then any ROM fails due the verification of device.
> I found you can add the device name into the file "updater-script" of the folder "\META-INF\com\google\android", but after test this I faced the problem with an "invalid zip file" where I found it's better to delete the first line of the same file, but the result was the same.
I already sent an email to @androidlover5842 explain this.
My solution was to install the TWRP 3.1.2.

Poor network signal

Hello,
I'm facing the following issue:
I updated my android to 9.0 through recovery using a flashable stock zip. After that I followed all instructions and wiped the system to flash the last Resurrection Remix rom (January).
I was having signal issues, then I read that maybe flashing the modem could help me (January update because is the only one for Pie):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/themes/twrp-baseband-modem-april-stock-rom-t3777901
So I did it all again (flashed the stock, wiped the system, flashed RR and then flashed the modem - all through TWRP), but well, here I am...
I'm really enjoying RR and would like to keep it.
Is there some way to solve this? I already tried to use Network Signal Guru but it didn't solve my problem.
I'm from Brazil and my network carrier is 'Claro'
PS: I found this link on RR thread, in the "Vendor and Boot images", there's a 'signal boost' zip there but I don't know if it may brick my phone 'cause maybe it only works with Android 8, and even if it works I don't know how to flash vendor zip.
