Emoji's resized after update to Oreo LON-L29 8.0.0.360(C432) - Huawei Mate 9 Pro Questions & Answers

Tonight I updated my m9p to Oreo / EMUI 8. Everything seems to work fine so far, except emojis from the keyboard. I have tried to switch between different keyboards like GBoard, Swiftkey, Kika etc. All the same. They are bugged and re-aligned somehow.
I have tried to change resolution, fontsize etc. to no good. I have attached a screenshot of the emojis....
Anyone else has this problem? And even better, a solution.

I figured it out by myself.
I thought it was logic to make a factory reset. It solved the problem. All emojis are aligned and sized normal now.

hi...how did u update? official or flashing through recovery?
ty

Just normal here. Try factory reset.

Heeelllpppp. I already did factory reset on my Huawei Nova 2i. But still the emojis are like showing 1/4 of their faces.

[Q] slow response and lags when Typing with Keyboard

Hello...
I Have Some Problem with my N900..
after update by wifi I notice some lag when i was typing message ... slow response when typing on keyboard ...
i have just 10 APPs installed on my Note 3 and my android version is 4.3 Stock-not rooted...In addition I haven't any lag issues at all in my launcher or gallery.
Please Help me if anyone experienced this problem...
If Factory reset remove All of the updates?
What Should I do?
thank you...
Does this also happen on another keyboard? (Swiftkey? Hackers Keyboard?)
Factory reset keeps the current system version, but you will have to re-update all the apps.

Unfortunatly yes....on another keyboards I had this lag too... but right now I solve it...
I noticed that the lags weren't the result of the updates.. they happened just because I turned off some apps in app manager... like evernote , software update , chat on , yahoo finance , google search and some else...
So I turned the apps on and the lags went away.....
But now I dont understand why this problem occure for my device...if any one has the same problem ?
I expected turning off the apps shoud improve my device performanc and more free space of ram...but it make my keyboard so laggy and slow...
Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
I expect it was one app that caused the issue, as opposed to all of them. Possibly one that works with the keyboards.
You could turn them off again one by one until you find the culprit.

Try to reflash latest stock firmware, after boot up, dont fill in your Gmail or samsung account, then factory reset on setting. after boot up, dont fill in your gmail or samsung account again, let it boot at the first screen, then try your keyboard again on messaging apps.

DO NOT WIPE/factory reset AFTER you installed the LOLLIPOP update

Many people in the forum have tried to install the new lollipop 5.1 beta, including me, many reporting problems like:
empty motion control,
no huawei keyboard,
largeness,
some other bugs or thing that you feel weird.
The reason for most of the problems is that you did a wipe/factory reset AFTER you installed the lollipop update.
You SHOULD NOT do that.
If you want a clean lollipop ROM, you should wipe/factory reset JUST BEFORE you installed the lollipop update.
The reason is that the lollipop update is an incremental update(and it's still in beta), so some system data is treated as user data for wiping/factory reset. Therefore some system data will be erased on such wiping.
Hope I made it clear.
Really feel that an independent thread should be opened to address this information to people.
Hope people can see this.
I concur. You can see from the size, that all those lollipop beta are actually incremental update

Not necessarily..
I have used 3btn way to install B137SP03 which does all wipe erase,
and then I carried on updating B141(via local update dload) without system modification so ''clean'' install of B141, then I installed B312 (5.1.1)
But IF somebody missing something in mobile and DID backup in previous ROMs (4.4.x) you can just do restore and all missing things will reappear ..
maybe people should not install the beta at all.
my mistake
Made this mistake just now before I read this post.. How re install it again, I tried to the local update again but same result. Lots of bugs and missing 5x5 layout and motion control.

Install roll back/transition pack to get to B300, then roll back to 4.4, then re-install. You'll have your 5-5 and motion control back.

It was happened with me too so i googled and found that i have installed the wrong rom/firmware. I think you must choose the correct rom according to your model number & region which is the most important part of upgrading.

Nougat Issues

I just reverted to T-Mobile firmware so I could upgrade to 7.0, since then I've noticed some issues.
I can't use my photos to change my wallpaper, or for the AID.
I can't go to the settings for the camera.
I've had some screen freezing when trying to change the notifications.
Has anyone else had similar issues, or are there other problems I should look out for?

My wife's phone is stock and I took the OTA for 7.0. I checked the camera settings and they are fine.
I'm wondering if you might need to flash the update again. If you do, you should wipe davlik and cache to make sure nothing got left behind.

I'd hate to do everything over again. I can't imagine how I screwed up either. I ODINed the T-Mobile files, and when the phone restarted, it updated to 7.0 automatically.

When I checked smart switch, it didn't have an upgrade listed. But the phone did. This tells me that it was a TMO update. Since you flashed tmo files, I'm assuming the ones listed in T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion, it should have taken. OTA is considered a dirty flash in that it doesn't wipe everything. Flashing with odin wipes everything. I'm just wondering if it didn't wipe everything the way it should.
The other possibility is after you updated, you loaded something that nougat doesn't like. If you do reflash, once it is done, do the bare minimum setup. Then try the items you listed that were a problem. If everything works ok, then you know it is something that got installed after the update. During the initial setup process, I never allow it to restore from another device, or samsung account. I get it setup as a new phone and then reboot. See how everything is working, then use smart switch to restore. If anything is missing, I go to the play store and download. Yes, it's a pain, but I've never had any issues.

So what you're saying is download the nougat files and install through odin. Gotcha ?

I should have asked, have you rebooted since the update? There were some things like wifi calling and video calling that were missing after the OTA update. On reboot, it was all back. Try a reboot first. If things still aren't working, reflash.
If you previously backed up your apps and docs and images, etc., with smart switch before the update, then use that one when you restore.
Be sure though that after you do the odin flash, do a minimal setup. Then reboot. Then check everything out. If it is all good, do the restore from smart switch.
Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Will do, thank you.
The keyboard is what has me the most annoyed, it is not as good as it was in Marshmallow. I have the Auto Predictive text Auto replace languages English, and Spanish. Back on Marshmallow, there was no need to switch between languages, you just had to type in either one, and the keyboard itself would switch automatically. And on Nougat, that doesn't happen anymore. I loved that feature on MM. Does anyone else have that problem? is there a way to install the MM Samsung keyboard on Nougat? or is there a solution?

Awesome!
Seriously all I'm waiting for is the Note 8
Should have posted this here... (oh well)
Has anyone else with generic quick charge 2.0 car chargers notice they are not "quick charging" anymore since the nougat upgrade?
I've got a couple of generic ones from ebay in my cars and they worked on the S7E using MM and still work on the note 4. But on the S7E after N7.0 update they aren't quick charging, they are just charging. (does that make sense?)

Oxygen & Hydrogen icons missing

So, as most of you know , OnePlus recently sent out an update to remove photochrom in error. I was one of those that received the update notification from OnePlus. I did not install the update and shortly thereafter it disappeared due to them retracting it (I assume again due to the error). Unrelated (maybe?) but shortly there after I decided to do factory reset on my device. After the reset I notice that the preinstalled Oxygen and Hydrogen icons are no longer on the device and have been replaced with the old OnePlus system icons. Of course I know that I can install the icons through other means but I'm more curious as to why they've gone missing if they are part of the image.
I've tried everything I can think of to get them back (without installing them independently) but no luck. I'm just curious why they would disappear (and what else has changed that I may not have noticed yet). Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas?
(I know this is pretty stupid but it's driving me crazy as I can't see any reason why this would be)

Go under OnePlus launcher settings and select one of them
No...what I mean is they are totally missing. (I know how to select them ?). That's why it's bugging me. See how you don't have the OnePlus system icons...that's what I have in place of where you have your Hydrogen and oxygen icons
I install them from APK mirror. And return to settings, you will see icons
I understand I can do that (as said in my post). The point is they are part of the initial install and they are missing after a reset (I did not install them prior). How does something suddenly go missing from the system image.
Keep in mind...this is not the first time I've done a full reset on this device and they were always there after the fact. Just not after the above chain of events
I know how to get them...I'm just wondering how or why they are gone now

Question (Solved!) My Phone(1) won't auto rotate. Help

Tried toggling the switch not helping. Reboot also didn't solve. Anyone have any idea how to fix?
Update:
Ok. After my 2nd factory reset, auto rotate is back working!
What changes? First time setting up phone(1) and after 1st factory reset; i went with restore from old phone.
2nd factory i decided tp setup new and not restoring any data or config from recent back-up from old phone.
My old phone is a Pixel 6 Pro btw if it matters. I noticed by restoring from old phone, the glyph switch on notification quick panel is not there, but by setting up anew without restoring, it is there.
Did you try to do factory reset? That's the last step before writting to support i think (in this case)
Manually make it go landscape i.e in YouTube will rotate it, and move back the phone to portrait will rotate back the display.
But from portrait to landscape won't auto rotate. I guess I really need to factory reset it. I'll update again the outcome

Yeah I know I can root which I did or install Hentai OS ROM and relock bootloader but I'm too old to still manually flash update using PC every month. Haha
