How to make the camera shoot 60 fps? - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Perhaps someone knows the way, or will be able to make a mod similar to what is on mi5s (ported from motorola)

Root with Magisk, then add the module which enables RAW capablities, then install GCam. It can record at 60 fps

You can set it to 60 fps but it sadly does not record in 60 fps.

Anyone made any progress regarding fps ???

Install this module. He works with MI A1.

It doesn't work with mi a1.. at present there are no mods available for shooting 60fps.

Slow motion has been working for Mi A1 for some time with modules that had been already created for it. People are asking here how to shoot normal video/not slow motion one with 60 fps. In GCam you can set it to 60 fps, but that's where it ends. The video is still being laggy and variable frame rate does not exceed 25/30 fps.

OK. This did not even work with Android 7.

works in Mi A1 w/ Oreo? (rooted/Magisc/camera2api/GCam)
Regards.

U know when A device is capable of recording at 120 fps it can record at 60 fps also.
It is possible to record a normal motion video using Mi A1
all u need to have
* rooted Mi A1
* any custom ROM (I have not tested it on stock)
* stock camera slow motion mode running in background
* installed open camera app
for this go to settings in open camera
set frame rate at 120 fps
set video resolution at 720 p
open mi A1 or mi A2 stock camera and click on slow motion
hit the home button to put stock camera in the background
go to open camera and start recording video
it will record a smooth 60 fps video at normal motion (not slow motion)
this trick is working fine for me
only conns associated with this method are-
no EIS working in this video
video is of less resolution
not suitable for low light conditions
camera shoots in zoom in state

No it does not. it just has an option to record at 60fps. actually it records worse than 30 fps.
if ur gcam does record at 60 fps please check the frame rate in video properties (using MX player)
and if it truely records @60fps then please attach a video sample and do tell which ROM and Kernal combination are u using.

It does. I have checked in MX Player, it is showing 60. I am using Stock Rom + Extreme kernel with full overclocking(cpu at 2767MHz , gpu at 1100MHz). Some Media Profile Modifications in system.
Have a try.
(my English is not good , sorry )

Replace your system/etc files with these files with rw-r-r- permissions. Then reboot. If gcam app force closed, open video recorder by holding app icon in launcher with take a video option.
Files Link - https://www26.zippyshare.com/v/iibSrsjl/file.html
and EIS is working fine in 60fps videos..

If your gcam still recording at 30fps . Open stock cam video recorder and close .Go back to Gcam and check .. Its working..

Thanks friend, sadly this mod is much needed, looking forward to it and would love to buy you a beer.
Update
I have reached 18mbps. Now I want to optimize framerate.
I was able to shoot video 1080p @ 18mbps @ 46FPS in good lighting conditions. but in darkness it falls really badly, this is something i want to optimize
HOLY CRAP!! I came from a Sensation to Oppo Find 5 and I use this! Let me tell you that this mod is god! I can't wait! Will this have the camera options like Camera options (Saturation, Sharpness, Contrast, Exposure) or something like that?
yeah, I've used a version of your mod on the Amaze 4G... can't wait
since this app will have more features than the stock apk, I will go and analyze the camera library to see why low-light fails so badly on this camera (instead of trying to mod the stock apk)...
Update on current progress:
Successfully increased bitrate. but framerate is very unstable, can't figure out how to normalize it. However FPS in HDR mode is rock solid at 24FPS.
Here I uploaded video:
Resolution: 1080p
Bitrate: 28.3MBPS
Framerate: 24FPS (Stable)
Video Mode: HDR ON!
With same settings, normal mode (without hdr) will do only 15FPS.
I'll try to continue diagnose problem.

Thanks a lot for developing this. Can you ask the OPPO staf to include this to there origonal camera app? and that it can be selected with a option from the camera menu. Thanks.
It's cool! but i prefer a focus option (macro, scene, portrait, etc..)!
actually, nvr mind
NODO-GT you camera is very good, will you be pushing it to the Maxx of the hardware?
Hey, I was wondering if this a secondary camera module or if it replaces the original one.

So, Youtube just enabled HDR for the S8(+)

Just noticed this on my S8+, suddenly have the option to enable HDR and the effect is dramatic. Only works when viewing in full screen. Also noticed that the cropping to enable the video to fill the entire screen doesnt work when HDR is on.
Tried it on my Tab S3 (which also is HDR Capable) and it isn't working...yet.
So if Netflix wont support HDR on the S8, Youtube just did.

That's weird, nothing show up for me on Youtube...
I'm on CarHD Rom, but not sure if its connected or not...
EDIT : Youtube app wasn't updated yet. It's working now
I just have to enable through Xposed module the 4K video format on Youtube as it's not available natively and everything will be great !
Can confirm this on my S8+. It's not working on every single HDR video yet though.

Yes i have noticed that it's lagging specially when you watch it in 1440p 60fps HDR slows down the device also try to rotate the video. The same feeling when you try to watch a 4k video on 720p tv. Hope future updates solves the problem.
I have noticed also the video crop right corner not enabled by default but only enabled for some videos

Looks nice, thanks. I like HDR but I have to admit it makes colors seem oversaturated and brighter than real-life. It's like everyone and their brother posts oversaturated/color enhanced photos on social media, etc., right? Yeah, easy to do in photo-edit programs. But, it looks like HDR does it by default, which makes it pretty but also pretty darn unrealistic. I mean, seriously, just look out your window during the day and the colors aren't oversaturated like HDR! Oh well, still pretty.
Lol I used the hidden settings menu to turn on 2160p
I get like 3fps of 2160p hdr
Laggy
So not just I'm the one who experiences lags during 1080p 60fps hdr video playback on Galaxy s8?
Yeah YouTube hdr is buggy at best. Video stutters on 1080p 60 fps

[Magisk]Audio Bitrate Increase

This is a simple mod that improves audio bitrate when recording with the camera.
From 96 kbps to 320kbps, just as mi 10
Installation:
Install in Magisk, reboot..that's all.
Magisk 20.3 and above
Does it really improves the actual sound quality?

I've tested it, and using 4K60, H265, in VLC/Information/Media, it shows 58FPS, 192Kbps for bitrate, so it works.

Common sense what? Did get the point? You criticized of me replying sound recorder settings because I havent read the OP. I JUST REPLIED TO " where the sound recorder settings?"
So in addition, I am telling you. The OP originally only talked about audio recording. So would you know what audio is it? Sound recorder? Camera video? Screen recorder? Call recorder? Before the OP edit the post and specify its for camera recording? Thats why I asked WITH MY COMMON SENSE in 3rd post if its about video recording or just sound recorder.
