Cannot get LG K20 plus to be recognized by every computer - LG K20 Plus Questions & Answers

My LG K20 plus will not work and so I am trying to resorting to download mode, but the problem is that every computer fails to recognize it. I have done my research but I still cannot get it to work.
I've already done the following:
Tried different USB data cables
Tried using Windows 7 and Windows 10
Tried using USB2 and USB3 ports
Installed all kinds of drivers, including the official one.
No matter what mode it is on (recovery, download mode, just being turned on, etc.) Windows instantly tells me "USB Device Not Recognized" I'm just really lost and would really love to get my device back in working order.
If this can help anyone figure out my problem, here are the events:

Can't install SE companion drivers for X10

System configuration: X10 (R2BA020), Win7 x64 (english), SE PC Suite 2.00.142
Suite installed without any error messages. When I connect the phone via USB, Windows is searching for drivers but can't find one which matches with the device.
I've tried it manually via device manager (Other devices: X10i) and used for the update-driver-wizard the path to the driver folder (program files\SE...\drivers), but no matches...?!?!
I can see two entries with USBDeview:
Vendor ID:0fce
Device ID: 212e and 313e (Debug and no-Debug Mode)
Device class: Smar
Device type: unknown
Description: SEMC Mass storage USB device
The drivers are digitally signed by MS, so what's the problem?

[Q] my journey to try and develop with an htc aria

Hi,
I have two small apps that I have devleoped using eclipse and the emulator. Now I want to use eclipse and my htc aria.
I followd the sdk's directions for downloading the usb driver and I now have a folder named "usb_driver" in my sdk. However, windows can't find a driver for the htc aria in that folder.
THe next thing that I tried was to use "HTC sync" from HTC. However, I can't even get HTC sync to work all. MY aria can't find HTC sync on my VIsta compter. After digging into this, I found that windows gets an error when it tries to run the htc sync driver. This is detalied below:
Device Manager:
Android USB Devices: My HTC
Device status: Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
Description:
Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 37.
Problem signature:

Setup class GUID: {f72fe0d4-cbcb-407d-8814-9ed673d0dd6b}
PnP problem code: 00000025
Driver name: ANDROIDUSB.sys
Driver version: 2.0.7.1
Driver date: 06-10-2009
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.6
Locale ID: 1033
I am at wits end. It seems that a USB driver for the HTC aria isn't ready yet from the android download site and the drivers from HTC won't work on my computer.
Has anyone else seen anything like this? Is there another way that I can run my apps on my phone?
Thanks,
mhuman1
You may need to manually add a couple of lines to the driver .inf
I did this for an incredible. Search google for "htc incredible usb driver" and use the aria usb pid/id
I modified the driver's inf file like suggested abobe with the following additional text in the two indicated places and now my phone shows up using the "adb devices" command. It shows the serial number of my htc aria.
;HTC Aria
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C92&REV_0100
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C92&REV_0100&MI_01
However, I still can't access the phone from eclipse. Do i still need to do more setup in eclipse?
Thanks,
mhuman1
Htc Aria shows up in DDMS but not as project target
HI,
Now my HTC Aria shows up under the DDMS perspective with its serial number, but I don't know how to make eclipse launch my application on the phone I think that I must be overlooking something really silly.
Thanks,
Keith

Any way to resolve this? Using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit. TY

RESOLVED
* usb tether works find in linux ( so #$%^ you windows )
* all other usb devices work in windows
* I have always had issues with android and drivers ...( G1 and Mytouch on multi computers USBDeview shananigans etc ... )
* I tried the latest USB drivers from android SDK 03/9/2011
* I assume the tetherxp.inf does not display a new connection in networking becuse I can't get the driver installed in the first place ....
* the Vista_x86 drivers let me install them ( forcefully ) but mass storage or tether do not work
* used USBDeview to remove all USB devices etc no luck
* tried htcsync2.0.35 with no luck
* also tried move the c:\windows\inf\*.pnf files ( aparently the driver cache for windows of the inf files gets stored in this binaryish file )

Windows 10 USB Help Request - Device Descriptor Failed

Howdy,
Ok, I'm one of those who are having issues connecting my Nexus 6P to my Windows 10 PC. I've tried the usual fixes (I'll enumerate what I've done below) but right now where I'm in the state where Device Manager shows the Nexus 6p under the Universal Serial Bus controllers. Shows up as:
Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
Device status is:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
A request for the USB device descriptor failed."Properties -> Details -> Hardware Ids = USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILUREOk, what I have tried:
1) Settings -> Developer Options -> Select USB Configuration = MTP (I have tried all options here, no change to above)
2) Settings -> Developer Options -> USB debugging = On (I have tried both on and off)
3) Using the USB A to USB C cable which came with the phone
4) Tried multiple USB ports on multiple PCs, no difference
5) NOT seeing the USB configuration type in the notification pulldown so I can not comment on that
6) I have factory reset the phone
7) Tried to update to the latest Google USB Driver.. Unable to... Experience is:
- Steps performed: Device Manager -> Update Driver Software -> Browse Computer -> Navigate to Directory (yes, include subfolder is checked).
- Outcome: Windows tells me the Best Driver software is already installed- Second attempt: Device Manger - Update Driver Software -> Browse Computer -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers
- Outcome: No driver with Android, Google or Nexus shows8) I have tried a couple of the universal USB drivers but none look to work
Is there anything else I can try? I am starting to wonder if there is a hardware error on my phone.
I have windows 10 and I've never had problems. When I plugged in my device my computer recognized it right away.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Have you tried to install ADB with the universal installer found somewhere on XDA, which also installs the Google drivers and see if your device is detected? Can you try it on a different PC to rule out the cable being problematic?
Might go down the path of updating the drivers for your motherboard. Especially USB 3. I've had that same error from outdated drivers on windows 8.1 and the htc m7. I actually had to use drivers from a different manufacturer but for the same chipset.
Went on vacation shortly after the last response and trying the suggestions now. Still no luck. I am starting to wonder if there is something shorted out on the phone. Is there any way to do a sanity check?
Since the last response I have tried:
Repeated the behavior on 2 different PC's
Updated all firmware on my laptop. I have connected a Moto X to this laptop in the past but do not have access to that device anymore.
Tried the Naked Driver
Tried the PDANet driver
Ran through the steps on the Diagnosing USB Driver thread
I have only tried this with 2 cables. One is the cable the phone came with. The other is a cable that Leung says does not work correctly (bought before I saw him reviewing. wondering if this did damage to my phone)
Anything else I could try? That or is there a way to test the hardware?
