microphone gain, when headphones are plugged in, too low - LineageOS News & Discussion

Hi,
i recently changed the OS on my Sony Z1 Compact from Android 5.1 to LineageOS 14.1 using this CustomROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/rom-t3657384
With Android 5.1 it was possible to use it in the car like a speakerphone. The aux-cable of my radio was plugged in, so i hear the voices over the speakers of the car and the microphone sensitivity was high enough, that i just could speak and everybood understood, what i said.
Now with the new LineageOS, the microphone-gain is way too low. Its not possible to call sb, when i'm driving.
Is there a way, to change this.
Thanks for Help.

Audio comes out from both wired headset and speakers

Hi,
I've recently started using my cing8125 to play music and I have a very odd issue that I can't seem to lick.
When I play music and try to plug in a regular wired headset (like the one that came with the device), I got audio out of both the speakers on the side of the unit and the headset. Adjusting the volume on the device adjusts the volume in both the speakers and headset.
I do not believe it to be a hardware issue as I'm running the popular aku3.3 rom, and I recently flashed a friend's MDA to the same firmware and he is having the same problem.
Any ideas on how to get it to turn off the speakers when I have a headset plugged in? Shouldn't this be the default behavior?
IF you are running Faria WM 5 3.3 try this.

You will find the fix there.
Thanks so much for that! I knew I had read something about a fix earlier, but I couldn't remember where.
For people who are finding this thread in the futurem the fix is the following:
Q- After receiving a call music from player and sound from calls it played from internal speaker even with headphones inserted.
A- set HKCU\Control Panel\Soundcategories\Ring\Speaker to 0

Phone mic is taking priority over inline headphone mic

Is this a known issue? I am on AOKP rom but have noticed this issue on AOSP, as well. Can anyone who has a stock or stockish rom verify that your headphone mic is working correctly?
I have had 2 calls one on each rom where i used my headphones and the person said they could barely hear me. If i bring the phone near my mouth the user indicates i sound great. When i place the phone away from me they have a hard time hearing me.
Is anyone else having an issue with this? I cannot use mics built into any headphone i use. Tried this on CM. Went to Malladus. Even does it when you go into record. No sound when speaking into headphone mic but when speaking into phone mic, meter moves.

Looks like certain headphones at the current time do not work with this phone. I used Brainwavz m5 and pro alpha's. The mic on the earpiece does not work. I then tried a pair of phonak pfe122s with inline remote. The mic on that worked.
The inline mic on my beats earbuds and my skullcandy aviators both take precendence over the phone mic, I'm completely stock VS980.

[Q] Nexus 4 headset mic volume problem

I have a Nexus 4 and I don't have a matching headset. I did not buy the Google Play Store headset because I do not like plugin earphones. I tried the headset that comes with iPhone 4S and it works, however during calls the mic volume is very low, while the earphone volume is just unbearably loud. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?
I assume this has something to do with impedance. Again, however, I cannot find this key information in Nexus 4's specification or the Google Play Store headset's. This can also be compatibility or software issue. But I read somewhere on the internet that unfortunately the mic volume and the earphone volume are not separately adjustable on Nexus 4. If that's not the case, please give me a guide as to how to do it. I am running factory 4.4 rom, rooted and GravityBox installed. If it has something to do with compatibility and/or impedance, please recommend a model (with mic) that works best with Nexus 4 which is not plugin when it comes to earphones. In terms of sound quality, I am not picky. To me, the iPhone headset isn't bad in sound quality. And I'd be totally satisfied if the sound quality is at the same level or close to a Sennheiser MX500.
Thanks!

Bluetooth Volume Low

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to boost bluetooth playback volume. I have beats wireless studio headphones and they are definitely not as loud as they were when using them with my g3 on CM12. I do remember them being this low on the stock lg rom but when I switched over to CM the sound drastically increased. I am looking for a no root solution if possible as I am stock for the time being. I can't even feel any bass from these things and that's what they are supposed to be for lol. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Interesting. CM12 killed my BT volume on my HAM2. I find BT audio to be just as loud as other devices I have. One thing I've noticed is that BT max volume seems louder if I make sure volume is maxed out before pairing, especially on devices that take over phone volume controls.
Unpair the headphones. Turn phone volume to maximum. Turn headphones volume to maximum. Then pair.
I'm interested as well the mixer_paths would be where we need to look but they look different than I've seen before. I've found a mod from 2014 I'll report back.

Has someone sorted out the bt volume? I also have a very low volume over the bluetooth music, as I'm using it in the car...
It also depends on the headphone I have different Bluetooth headphones and some are loud and some are not.
Well it's not headphone previous nexus 5x was fine, if there is a way to increase bt volume
Viper4arise solved the problem, however 7.1.2 also make the bt volume normal, problem fixed
Just is someone have the samr issue
The P9 is also a little less loud on BT than any other phone i had.

Poor microphone volume while talking through BT earphones [Lineage OS 16.0]

When I have bluetooth earphones connected (Creative Outlier Air) and I'm talking to someone by using the microphone in the earphones I can hear the person I am talking to very well but the person I am talking to can barely hear me. Is it possible to somehow improve the quality of the microphone? I checked the headphones on another phone and everything works fine so i guess it's a software problem. I'd like to avoid going back to stock rom.
I don't know if it matters but I had to turn off the HD sound in the bluetooth options of the headphones, becuase when it's turned on the sound is stuttering.
