Huawei Ascend XT ads - Huawei Ascend XT Questions & Answers

I cannot figure out how to stop the ads that pop up on my phone all the time. Can anyone please help me?

It's something you installed. . Go over your apps looking for anything fishy. Also, pay special attention to pirated apps received from untrustworthy sources..

Can a paid app be taken off of the market just like that???

I downloadd Hello IM, from the shady developers Multiple Facets (I call them shady because I bought I Tweet with the impression they were bringing more updates, as they told me themselves, but instead they made the app free and abandoned it).
Now, something even more shady has occurred. I recently had to get my phone restored and I went to go download Hello IM again, but lo and behold, it's gone! I paid $10 for the app, and now I can't even download it. I searched for it, looked under my downloads, and even used the "View More Applications" button from their I Tweet app (which is still on the Market)
I've emailed them but noone is responding. Is it right for an app to be taken off the market when users have paid for it? Shouldn't it just be hidden from view from future buyers and the people who did pay can still access it for download in the future?
I don't like that so much control is granted over paid items to the point where I can potentially (and I have) lose the ability to get what I paid for. Can anyone confirm that the app is no longer in the market? And what would one suggest I do to get this resolved?
Can you get a refund? I have heard of people doing this, but don't know any terms to abide by.

Do you want the app or your money?
Im not the dev or associated with the company or dev.
I really wanted the app but if I can't have it, then where has my money gone? I'll get whichever I can take because I should either get what I paid for, or get my money back. Do you agree?
You might want to email Google about this...

I know what you mean, Google just revised their developer provisions to stop this from happening.
ya i have 2 paid apps that are gone now. "bloo" for facebook and "i music tao", i have bought 3 in the last 2 weeks and now 2 are gone. i promise that wont happen again. i try to support, and buy some apps, but only free for me from now on.
Or backup the apps from now on...
My question could sound stupid, but what exactly means "gone"? I'm able to locate HelloIM on the market, also bloo and the others cited, using latest cyanogen rom (4.2.4).
Cheers
I too am seeing Hello IM! by Multiple Facets for 9.99. Bloo for 0.99 and "i Music Tao"...
I'm in the US running rooted official t-mo 1.6 if that makes any difference
Did you mess with your phone in order to get Maps Navigation working? There's your answer. You have messed up the build.prop files.
Re-install your ROM (or replace the correct build.prop files & reboot), set your clock to 11:58 PM, wait until 12:01 AM, check Market... the apps should be back.

Either that, or you might be using a ROM with an older Marketplace which is missing a lot of apps. I just got my G1 not to long ago, and in the midst of rooting I had to downgrade but didn't have time to finish with a new ROM or anything, so the Marketplace I had was missing a BUNCH of **** I had on my stock ROM.
if you are running 1.5 you wont see the donut apps

[FIX] Access copy protected and paid apps in Android market.

After long search on the internet and lots of experiments i found this version of android market enabler that worked
you just install the app then select an operator to fake (i selected T-mobile US)
and it worked like charm: all apps like all google software maps, skype, tapatalk worldmate.....etc all that is missing on rooted phones and outside US
of course the credit is not mine but for he who ever thought and created this program....I just found it and reposted it
if someone knows a better or newer version please post it
Best of Luck
I thought it can be searched from Market there?
Downloaded the one at the market, But can not figure out how to configure it!!
PLEASE Help
edit: SOLVED

It's just a personal preference because its easier to install all apps when I have them all in one folder, rather then always searching for them on the play store.
Got used to it because I had my phone a lot of time on service, and it was frustrating to always install everything again and again.

The ones that aren't installing are paid for apps bud, how'd you get them then? Too coincidental that the paid apps won't install, but the free ones will...
If you paid for them from the Play Store, you can hit the little magnifying glass and type in the first 3-4 letters, and it'll find the app right away, takes seconds to do. You can also log into your Google account and search/install that way.
If you got these apps without paying for them, you won't find help here for that.

I dont wanna search for all of them. Because I don't have a list in my head for which apps do I use.
I asked for help. I BOUGHT The tab. I bought most of the apps. Yes not all of them. What else do you want?
I didn't get any help, just atacks on WHY did I do it this way and not the other way. My grandma doesn't use the walking sticks even if her life would be better with them. It's a personal preference It doesn't matter why she wont use the sticks even if I cut off her legs.
If I'll ask what are those 4 gold dots on the side of the tab, I wanna know what. Not explain to you why would I use them and why not!
Now please, can we get to the point of the question?

Wow, so you don't want to just TRY going to the Play Store to install one of these paid for apps to see (called troubleshooting) if it'll install? Google keeps a list of everything you installed, Settings - My Apps - swipe over to All, there's your list.
I know you bought the tablet, no one questioned that. You are asking how to install an app that you have to pay for but you got it via another means (pirated app), and it won't install...again, you won't find help for that here. You're getting asked questions which helps with trying to figure out the root of the problem, and your grandma reference is just disturbing and irrelevant.
Paid for apps don't get installed in /system like system apps are, so the question is relevant.
So here's your answer: Go to the Play Store, search for ONE of the paid apps you are having trouble installing, and TRY installing it from there. Oh yeah, and in Android 4.2 there is more built in security for pirated app detection, so like I've said before, if they are apps that cost money and you didn't purchase each of those apps, you won't be able to install them.

Thanks. That's all that I needed.
Furthermore, have you enabled "Unknown Sources" in Settings to sideload apps like you are trying to do? If not, that could be your problem as well. It could also be the the version of the apps you are trying to sideload are old and aren't supported in Android 4.x, hence the suggestion to try installing from the Play Store.
With Android 4.2 sideloaded apps are scanned, please review: this. It gives you information about what you are trying to do, and the "why" aspect of it.
So before you fly off the handle again with odd no-legged grandma references, try the above mention suggestions to see what happens. Are you rooted, or is your N7 stock?

Well U might be right about the apps being not 4.2 supported. Because some of them are old.
I'm not rooted, just stock.
Some apps are not compatible with certain devices.
It doesn't matter whether a user paid for them or not. They paid for the app. and it installed on the device they had at the time, and it worked. Nowhere is it written, that a dev has to support any devices a person buys in the future.
The app dev's, have no obligation to program the app to work on everybody;s devices, regardless whether you paid for it or not. This is the nature of programming development.
Nowhere is it said that if you buy a new device, the app you purchased last year is compatible. If somebody can prove me wrong, please tell me.
Yes, you may be able to sideload the app. Another way is to make a build.prop edit to make it compatible. This is OK, and you are welcome to do so.
What is not acceptable, is to ask for paid apk's or discuss anything related to software piracy. This is against XDA rules, and also, against the law in most countries.

all well said and true. Not against the law in my country... what now? Its totally normal download music illegal here, no one buys it... not a problem (Just a fun fact not piracy, just saying how easy it is to get stuff )

Your weak rationalization aside, it is still piracy.

Super Secure s6 edge

hey guys there are soooo many different forums here and i dont have time to search out proper threads
i just need to know if its possible to make my phone much more secure by rooting or deleting apps. I dont like apps sharing my info or locations.
all i need or want is the camera, some kind of map navigating service preferably not google, alarm clock, calculator, talk and text for 99 % of my planned use
and maybe a secure browser for last 1%
i dont need email[samsung]s planner, music or video player, s health, galaxy appsfacebook or any other social media, samsung gear, smart wallet, microsoft apps, google apps, chrome, telus apps, or any other apps that share any of my info
do i just delete apps?
do i need to root first?

sorry, I do not want to be rude, but
questions belong to the q/a forum, not here in general!
it is VERY impolite to ask such questions with the remark you "dont have time to search"!

Fire HD10 2019 - New User

Hi All.
Today I hope to take delivery of a new device. I have been reading the topics about removing Amazon's bloatware and installing apps from Google Play. As a newbie (and not tech-savvy) can anyone please share their wisdom with me, as to the steps involved and in what order. The device is brand new so not yet registered to me. I am in UK if this makes a difference.
Many thanks

Head over to the Toolbox thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/development/official-amazon-fire-toolbox-v1-0-t3889604
Many thanks. Going to have a go tomorrow as the tablet has now arrived.
Do you know if it best not to enable WiFi nor sign in to Amazon account beforehand? I haven't done so yet as I read a warning on here a few days ago!
Shouldn't matter since the preInstalled Version of the Rom is non rootable anymore anyway.
But why login with amazon account if you're gonna use the "remove everything amazon" anyway?
I didn't. You can toggle the update/OTA function anyway and update.
Thank You
