Linage OS 15 (Working)! - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Guides, News, & Discussion

Download Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 For Zuk Z2 . Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
DISCLAIMER:
Installing a custom ROM on a Zuk Z2 requires the bootloader to be unlocked on the Zuk Z2 phone, which may VOID your warranty and may delete all your data. Before proceeding further you may consider backup all data on the phone. You are the only person doing changes to your phone and I cannot be held responsible for the mistakes done by you.

WHAT’S WORKING:

KNOWN ISSUES:

Before Starting
Take care of following tasks before you proceed with flashing custom ROM:
Task 1: Install USB drivers for your device on your PC.
Task 2: Be sure to backup your data including Contacts, SMS / MMS, APN & MMS Settings as well as photos and videos stored on your device’s internal or external storage.
Task 3: Make sure that your device is well charged. Ideally, the battery level should be around 60-80%. The more the better.
Task 4: USB Debugging should be enabled on your device.
Important: Most of the custom ROM will not have Google Apps in them. So, you will have to download and install GApps manually. Also take nandroid backup before installing
Done with preliminary precautionary steps? So, here’s the guide:
TWRP recovery let’s you do a number of cool stuff but the whole point of having a custom recovery is to be able to flash unsigned .zip files. These .zip files could be anything from a custom kernel, boot, recovery, MODs or full custom ROMs.
Let’s see how to flash a Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 rom on Zuk Z2 using TWRP recovery.
How to Install a Lineage OS 15 on Zuk Z2 Oreo 8.0
Download and transfer the Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 ROM and Gapps for lineage OS 15 you wish to flash to your device’s storage.
Boot your device into TWRP recovery.
Select “Wipe” from TWRP main menu and do a “Swipe to Factory Reset” on the bottom of screen.
└ Note: This will factory reset your device. If your custom ROM doesn’t require a factory reset, then simply skip this step.
Go back to TWRP main menu, tap on “Install” and select the Lineage OS 15 Android Oreo 8.0 ROM .zip file and gapps for Android oreo 8.0 that you transferred to your device in Step 1.
After selecting the .zip file, do “Swipe to Confirm Flash” on the bottom of screen to begin the custom ROM installation process. This may take some time.
Once your ROM is successfully flashed, you’ll see “Wipe cache/dalvik” option, select it and then do “Swipe to wipe” on bottom of screen.
Once cache & dalvik wipe completes, hit the “Back” button on-screen and then select “Reboot System” button.
I am not the developer of this ROM, I just posted what I have found!

Draining
I've installed this ROM yesterday and charge it up to 100%.. in 30 minutes, it went down to 75%. I flashed AEX back, so, no screenshots.
Very fluid but no battery backup for me.

You are not the developer who made this rom
So you're not allowed to share it! ( If you are reading the rules )

[WIP] Multiboot Project For Oneplus 3

Multiboot project is a work done by @chenxiaolong , I do not own any of the work presented over here.

*/
About Multiboot : A project to handle different ROMS at the same time so that you actually can use different ROMS without having to wipe up device to flash ROMS, it allows installation of more thn one ROM with all the features enabled.
USAGE1. Decrypt your phone by following THIS guide, else you won't be able to use Multiroms.
2. Boot into your primary ROM and install the Dual Boot Patcher app
3. Open the app and go to "Roms" in the navigation drawer. It will ask if you want to set the kernel. Make sure that you do.
4. Go to "Patch ZIP file" in the navigation drawer and patch the ROM or zip you want to install. If you can't select the ZIP file without opening it (OxygenOS's file explorer does that as example) use Solid Explorer, ES File Explorer seems to crash the App for some reason.
5. If you want to dual-boot with OxygenOS you'll most likely have too less space in /system. Instead use the Data-Slot and give a name for it when asked.
6. (Optional) Before flashing GApps refer to the section "In-app flashing" below and come back once you've done that.
7. (Optional) Download GApps from HERE, select ARM64 and the version you want, download it onto your phone, choose "Patch ZIP file" once again and select the Data-Slot which it created for you already.
8. (Optional) To flash GApps simply refer to the section "In-app flashing" again.
In-app flashing
To use in-app flashing, go to "Roms" in the navigation drawer, tap the floating button on the bottom right, and add the zips you want to install. You can queue multiple zips and they will all be flashed in one go. Once you've added all the zips you want to flash, click the check mark in the action bar and they will be flashed right away.

CURRENT ISSUES
#since this is a work in progress please do consider having a look here
1. If you update ramdisk and reboot then the phone will reboot to recovery and not boot to rom. You will have to reflash your rom for it to boot.
2. Lots of other issues.
3. When setting a lock-code in your second ROM and boot back to your main ROM you'll probably be greeted with "Wrong PIN/Pattern". To fix this either delete the following files in TWRP or via ADB:
In /data/system: password.keym pattern.key, locksettings.db, locksettings.db-shm, locksettings.db-wal
After this step you can go back into your main ROM and set a lock-code again, now it should work.

Seems like no rom is working with this. I have informed @chenxiaolong but till then, I need logs from anyone who is trying this on any custom rom. You can find logs in the multiboot folder in your internal storage. Thank you.
If you remove encryption then this should work. Try using the data slot to install a custom ROM while you are on a custom ROM and please let me know if it worked. For those getting ramdisk issues, ?*just flash /sdcard/MultiBoot/primary/boot.img.before-ramdisk-update.img from TWRP.

In bootloader mode > "fastboot format userdata" > done. But all your data will be lost. So make a backup on your pc first...
Want to decrypt your device in order for this to work?
Here's how you can do that!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/unencrypt-oxygenos-loosing-data-t3412228/
Managed to recover from a "disaster" after trying to upgrade my main, primary ROM (OxygenOS)...
So, I downloaded OxygenOS 3.2.1 and SuperSU and patched it via Dualboot Patcher, so far so good.
Then I booted into my secondary ROM (Resurrection Remix) since flashing on the currently running ROM is not allowed.
Started the Flash on the second ROM, however I accidentally hit the recent apps key, once I switched back to Dualboot Patcher it crashed...
I panicked a little, I booted into TWRP and flashed both files from there (first OOS, then SuperSU to prevent it from encrypting again).
After that I rebooted, however immediately after rebooting the OnePlus logo came on, went black and rebooted into the OnePlus logo again. Well, nothing much wrong so far, that's usual SuperSU behavior.
After the second reboot my phone was stuck in a bootloop and got extremely hot, I left it sit there thinking it'd encrypt again due to me doing something wrong (this happens when you forget to flash SuperSU after OOS)
After almost 40 minutes, still nothing. So I went to my PC and took a look what logcat says: Java Fatal Exception, something battery related wasn't able to load up.
So I force-shutdown the device and booted back up, not even 20 seconds later it booted into Android like nothing before happened...
Lesson of this story: NEVER flash your primary ROM from the secondary one... ALWAYS patch the ZIP files first, then boot into TWRP, then flash them.
I installed a dual system rom for mistake and obviously cannot use it, I also installed a data dual rom which is working fine, my issue is that when I try to remove the dual system rom I cannot do it, even if I move to raw/system/multiboot and try to delete I can't, I tried to change the permission, to set raw folder as a writable folder but none of this tries work..any help?
I have been using multirom on nexus. I saw multirom is also there for OP3. currently on OP3 I have flashed multirom(that similar to Nexus) , then i came across this THREAD.
Just a noob question - how different it is from multirom?
No disrespect to the developer intended.
Tried with RR and AOSPA, didnt work, i think its not flashing the second ROM properly..?

TWRP Recovery not Flashing Successfully

Nexus 7 Flo 2013 Wi-Fi
I tried a guide from Windows & another from Ubuntu (rep to low to link.)
But former just shows dead android with exclamation in red triangle sign spewing out. The latter just sits with a Google loader until powered off. I really wanna install Lineage OS for timely security updates (& if successful will convert my Moto G4 Plus!) Not having much good fortune so far though....
EDIT;
TWRP is flashing successfully as long as I do not reboot, I take this is by design & not an error? However flashing Lineage fails ZIP verification, so I must download again maybe?
So now TWRP not flash Lineage OS Flo properly? (Nexus 7 2013 WiFi.)
ZIP signature verification failed apparently.
Now then... Are we sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...
Flash TWRP then reboot like guide said would wipe tempoary TWRP Flash; Donna reboot but choose recovery with volume rocker, select with power button.
Flash latest Lineage for your specific device, Guide may link similar device.
Wipe everything except local storage before installing Lineage
Uncheck ZIP Verification
Download & flash PICO GApps if not enough room for main event
Watch out! Download may spit out random bin file & not ZIP (if so, rename.)
You have Lineage OS & can now bask in the much acclaimed glory of all history!!!

[Repository][XT907] Stock Firmware and Custom ROMs from 4.1.1 to 7.1 [SEPT 2017]

Hello! I spent a while researching and learning about my XT907. I absolutely love this phone and I am in love with Android 4.4, but I was also keen to try other versions. So I gathered everything you need to flash ANY Android custom ROM and or Stock Firmware to your XT907.
There are (or were. I'll explain below) several custom ROMs for this device, most of which were built for phones with a Jellybean 4.1 bootloader, IF it's unlocked. In the case of this device, if you didn't unlock it before June of 2014, then your bootloader is likely still locked which means you can't put any custom ROMs on it
There is still light at the end of the tunnel though. You can pay 'Sunshine S-Off' US$25 to unlock the bootloader for you. You can still be rooted to use their app, but if you have Xposed framework installed, you'll have to uninstall it first. They accept many different types of payment, including Bitcoin! However if you don't want to spend the money, the XT907 CAN BE ROOTED! Simply download and install the latest version of KingRoot then go here and follow the steps to replace it with SuperSU.
When it comes to restoring your firmware back to stock (in case you brick your phone), @sd_shadow and his list of phone saving tutorials is the place to go. If you want a custom ROM, see below
Over the last few years, it's become incredibly hard, almost impossible, to find everything you need to flash a custom ROM to your XT907, including the ROM itself. This becomes more the case with older versions of Android. Today, that has come to an end. I've spent the better part of a week or so gathering every single file you need to flash firmware or every custom ROM version from Android 4.1.2 to 7.1. Just go to the Google Drive link posted below, click/tap on XT907, and there you go. Everything is placed in it's own set of folders, with the exception of optional APKs. You can get detailed installation instructions at the respective links below.

[Tutorial] Flashing CM 12.1 custom ROM (Lollipop 5.1), SuperSU and Xposed Framework
***REQUIRES UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER***
If you don't want to downgrade your XT907 to a JBBL (Jellybean bootloader) then follow the tutorial below to flash the CyanogenMod 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1) custom ROM, SuperSU and install Xposed Framework onto your UNLOCKED XT907. This is for the KitKat BOOTLOADER ONLY.
WARNING: I am not responsible for any damage you may cause to your device and or other individuals. Use this guide AT YOUR OWN RISK.
1) Please download the appropriate folder labeled 5.1-Android-CM12.1-KKBL from my Google Drive link.
2) Make sure to have the appropriate Motorola and ADB drivers installed or this will not work.
3) Power off your phone.
4) Now press and hold, all at the same time, volume down + volume up + power button for 5 seconds. Release the power button first and 2 seconds later, release the volume buttons.
5) You should now be in your recovery screen. Use the volume down button to navigate to AP fastboot and press volume up to select it.
6) Now plug your phone into your PC. Make sure to have a good cable.
7) Now open the folder you just downloaded from Google Drive. Extract the file named TWRP-KKBL-XT907.zip to the same folder, or your desktop (whatever is easy for you).
8) Open the folder you just unzipped and place the file 'recovery.img' in the same folder as ADB.
9) Open an ADB command window (right click on your opened ADB folder and select 'open command window here') and type fastboot devices. This will show you if your device is properly connected. If you see a serial number and the word 'device' next to it, continue to the next step.
10) Now it's time to install a custom recovery. Type in the following code below. Make sure you placed the recovery.img into your ADB folder.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
11) You will see about 3 lines of errors. Just ignore them. When the process is complete (you'll know it's done when you see something like C:\) type the following line below:
Code:
fastboot reboot
12) Please keep your phone plugged in. When it's finished rebooting, in the ADB window type:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
13) If all goes well, you should have TWRP custom recovery properly installed on your XT907. You will see a list of several things. Now we are going to flash CM 12.1 to your device. Keeping your phone plugged in, you should be able to freely move files while in TWRP recovery. On your desktop PC click: start > computer > XT907 > Double click internal storage. (NOTE: If you can't move files in recovery, reboot normally and place the files into your device's internal storage manually as described below).
14) Go back to the folder you downloaded earlier and copy the file labeled cm-12.1-20160822-NIGHTLY-xt907.zip. Paste it into the INTERNAL STORAGE of your device. DO NOT place it in any other folder or directory. Again go back to the folder you downloaded earlier and copy the file labeled open_gapps-arm-5.1-nano-20170830.zip. Also paste it into your phone's internal storage (the same place as the CM file).
15) Now on your phone, from TWRP recovery main screen, tap 'wipe'. Now look at the bottom where the arrows are. It should say 'swipe to factory reset.' Please swipe the button. When it's finished, go back to the TWRP home screen and tap 'install'. Navigate to where you placed the CM12.1 file and select it. Now tap 'Add more zips' on the screen near the bottom left. Navigate to the open_gaaps file and select it. Look at the top of the screen and it should say you have '2 of max of 10 files queued'. If so find the arrows at the bottom where it says 'swipe to confirm flash'. Go ahead and swipe it.
16) When the process is finished (it might take a minute or two), from the TWRP home screen, tap 'Reboot' and select 'System'. Your phone will reboot. The reboot process can and usually will take SEVERAL minutes to complete the first time. During the reboot process, DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PHONE or attempt to reset it. Just let it go about it's business. In about 5-8 minutes you should have booted to your new custom CyanogenMod 12.1 (Lollipop 5.1.1). Go ahead and continue with the setup process.
Flashing SuperSU and installing Xposed Framework
1) When done with your general setup, navigate to the folder you downloaded from Google Drive earlier. Copy the file labeled SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip and paste it into the internal storage of your device (The same place as before). If you've been successful up to this point, you can delete the other zip files you added to your device earlier.
2) Use ADB to reboot to recovery. From TWRP home screen tap install and navigate to the SuperSU zip file you just added and select it. Now go down to the arrows at the bottom and please 'swipe to confirm flash'. When the steps have completed, go back to TWRP home screen and tap reboot then system. SuperSU (Super User) is now flashed to your system and you are now ROOTED. With Wifi on, you can go to the Google Play Store and download the updated SuperSU app. When installed, open it and it will ask you to update the binary. Please install using the 'normal' method. If successful, allow SuperSU to reboot your device.
3) If you would like to install the Xposed Framework onto your phone, you can follow the guide here. Also available at the link are the files to install Xposed. You can also use the ones I provided inside the folder you downloaded from Google Drive earlier. They are the same files as in the guide linked in this step.
If you have any trouble or if I missed a step, please post comments. Also post success stories so I know I did something good!

Upgrade instructions from LineageOS 15.1
Lenovo used a very old version of f2fs which is incompatible with latest f2fs version of 3.18 kernel. In order to keep the device updated with the latest features, it was necessary to upgrade f2fs with the downside of existing users need to format the userdata partition. If you want to keep your userdata, follow these steps. Keep in mind any apps using the keystore will be broken and you will need to clear their app data and set them up from scratch. If you used ext4 for userdata, you can simply upgrade without any breakage.
If you want to keep and migrate your 15.1 data and internal storage contents (only on incoming official builds!):
1. backup userdata in your current TWRP and take an internal storage backup on your PC.
2. reboot to bootloader
3. fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-20190209-kuntao.img
4. reboot to recovery by holding vol up + vol down + home + power buttons
5. main menu -> wipe -> format data
6. main menu -> reboot -> reboot recovery
7. flash lineage zip (and gapps/whatever else you want)
8. restore userdata backup and internal storage backup
9. delete /data/system/locksettings.db, you will have to set your lockscreen protection again when it boots
If you want a completely clean install just skip steps 1, 8 and 9.
I tested this process and it worked coming from lineage-15.1 or stock ROM.
Yeah! Thaaaaaanks Mike!
Thanks dude . Love your work
Thanks a lot mike!

Los 16.0 is replacing 15.1 so build will probably come tomorrow. I think.
At 8:00 UCT
So one hour and a half.

Sorry! Unfortunately I was wrong.
So if I already have ext4 data partition I can simply install the new 16.0 update without having to migrate the data etc?
Do I need the new recovery too?
Normally the build of the images starts on sunday 8utc am, so 10am my time. we'll see ^^ thx mike!
@philje123 i will test it out, as soon as the rom is available. i am too on ext4 already, i am using the new twrp since february, even with the 15.1 build. i will try to simply upgrade from 15.1 to 16, so i don't have to reinstall all apps. i will write, if it was working for me.

Yes, you need new recovery, but flashing new recovery do NOT wipe your data. It contain a newest format of f2fs format. On TWRP page you have a guide, how to flash it step by step on your phone without meet do plug your phone to PC.
Thanks Mike waiting for awesome

I thing about 1 pm CEST (European Time)
I remember last year on presentation 15.1 it took a couple of days before we could download after announcement.
Mikes work is awesome. But his timing
But anyway, I'm looking forward for this rom and I thank all the developers :good:
i mean it depends, when the build for the 16 roms is starting everyday, but according to this site https://www.lineageoslog.com/build/scheduler we will get nightly builds, instead of weekly ones.
so that means, daily snapshots, like we had with 15.1 from july till november, before we only got one update a week. but no matter when, i am just happy that 16 is finally here ;D
no matter if we have to wait another day or not for the first build. but still - it's just amazing how much love the p2 gets. it is still one of the best, if not THE best device i've ever had. perfect performance for daily usage, even with slight gaming and i only need to charge my device once or twice a week. that's incredible! my device is now over 2 years old and my battery still lasts 4~6 days with one charge <3 best phone ever created hahahaha - and thx to people like mike, it is up to date too =) i hate lenovo as brand, when it comes to software updates, but the hardware is awesome, for that price tag...

[GUIDE] How to update custom roms via OTA without Wiping or Losing Data [eg. crdroid 7.4 to 7.5]

So I'm going to keep with quick and short. I saw a lot of people facing problems in order to figure out how to update via OTA without losing data or losing any other rom functionality. Also considering that the OnePlus 8T has no twrp; things and procedures are already a little confusing.
So, for this guide, I will be using the crDroid 7.5 OTA update as an example. So, if you are on crdroid 7.4 and want to upgrade to crdroid 7.5, this is how you do it
Go to Setting > System > Updater and Download the ROM from there
While the ROM is downloading, download and keep NiksGapps or Mindthegapps on your PC/Laptop
Once the updater finishes the download, click the install button and wait for it to install the rom. DO NOT REBOOT
Once the installation is done, hold down the power button, click restart and select reboot to fastbootd. (So that your phone switches the slot)
Once it reboots to Fastboot connect your phone to the PC
In the fastboot menu, click boot to recovery.
Go to Apply Update click, ADB Update and sideload magisk, if you previously had magisk installed, and then sideload the gapps that you downloaded.
Once the flashing is done simply reboot your device without doing anything
Enjoy!
Hit the Thanks Button if this helped.

Hi, I have crDroid 7.5 (want to upgrade to 7.13) but the step 1) you mentioned dont works. Well, isn't a big problem since I can download the rom apart and flash it later, but here's the problem. For some reason the flashing procedure via TWRP dont works. Someone say it's because different kernel (Im on Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite (aka CC9).
Any help or suggest to a working procedure will be very appreciated.
