Zte Maven z835 (Maven 3) - ZTE Maven 3 Questions & Answers

Has anyone discovered a root method for the Zte Maven 3? Kingroot and all similar apps I've found have failed repeatedly and I'm close to giving up on this phone.

I'm not that Pro but I've tried many things including Kingroot but to no avail. I think we have to wait until a real developer figures out something.

Still no root method for the maven 3 had any one tried adb
Sent from my Z835 using XDA Labs

According to https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/zte-maven-3-z835-root-t3705687 they have tried ADB with no success.

When your phone boots , you will get a pop up from supersu to grant access to adb shell and you should press grant
Then go to the supersu app and update su binary if needed
By the way my model is WW_WIFI not CN_WIFI but it should work.

its the same as mine.
Hey!
I own a yoga 10 tablet, which my father bought from China. The problem is that Google and thus the play-store isn't a big thing there. I figured that I could get the google-apps and play-store installed by rooting the device. At this point I have to mention that this is my first time rooting a device.
I tried both methods mentioned on this thread, but nothing seems to work. The drivers are installed correctly, Kingo recognizes the device and it even says Root successful. The problem though is the same mentioned before on this thread: I get no ADB popup and the update for SU binary fails every time. So Kingo says its rooted, but its not.
I am totally lost with this, and I dont understand what am I doing wrong.
Its a Lenovo B8000-F and the build is B8000_A422_000_050_131126_CN_WIFI.
Thanks in advance for any help or insight!

worked like a charm on B8000-A422-000-072-140122-WW-WIFI
maybe you could add, that you have to turn on "USB-Storage" and that you find the developer options if you tip 7times on the "build number":good:
Now we've got root, any chance of a custom recovery/ROM? Or maybe someone compiling the cifs.ko modules for the b8000?

I would like to root my yoga 10 to remove bottom menu bar.... but I'm afraid that then warranty is void.
So is there any nice method to unroot or go back to complete stock? I saw the russian factory rom, but I guess it is not exactly the same as I have now (european).

you can unroot the device from the same app(kingo root) but you should know that rooting always voids your warranty.
Thanks for the hint. My doubt is: is there an obvious way to check if this device was rooted and unrooted? Let's say the speakers stop working then I unroot, send it for repair and hope they do not notice if device was once rooted. Anyway I always root my devices, but it't good to know

CyanogenMod 10.2
A custom ROM should be available shortly within the next few weeks/months. I found a group of developers on the Cyanogen Wiki developing for the Yoga 10". There dev group is called TeamYogaBlade, google that for the link to their GitHub. This includes all their latest updates and the possibility to join their developments, thus bringing upon a first custom ROM faster.

Already tried Kingo Root . .. Seems like it is not possible to root this phone after the KitKat upgrade... When was running Jellybean on this phone , i was able to root it using Framaroot, but not anymore ... ZTE is evil LOL, now i can't change the bootloader and rom either :crying:
How to root zte blade l2 that has been updated to kitkat
Hi guys, I recently got a ZTE Blade L2 its a nice device but it has only 4GB of internal memory and as you know a portion is used for system apps and such. This made it really annoying when installing apps to this device. It was made even more annoying by the fact that my specific carrier had upgraded the device to android kitkat 4.4.2. Write access to a user's SD was not permitted in android KitKat, this made having this device absolutely maddening for a heavy app user such as myself I couldn't even install the social network apps I liked to use.
I scoured the internet, forums, blogs in all sorts of languages and tried several methods to root this device but to no avail. Apparently when you upgrade to kitkat, rooting this device becomes a total pain in the nether regions.
Anyway just tonight I found an app that successfully rooted my device and its easy as one two three.
You simply install the app
You tap root and wait
It will ask for permission to install the kinguser app, you allow it
And then poof you're rooted
Trust me it works.
The app is called Kingroot.
NOT KINGOROOT which is totally different.
Here's. Link, just tap the first one on the page to download the apk.
The page is in Chinese but its way easy to understand.
Best of luck.
Now you're on your way to circumventing those pesky limitations that this device has.
Link to Kingroot apk:

Root on 4.4.4 Kitkat

So in the Note 4 Dev page "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60610290&postcount=173" they have achieved root on KK (4.4.4) by using King Root. Unfortunately due to the status of the locked boot loader on the Note 4, it is only temp and will unroot the phone after a reboot. Has anyone with a Note 3 tried using King Root yet? And if so, do you only have temp root like the N4?
King Root works on generic 32 bit phones. Note 3 is a 32-bit phone
Instructions w/APK from another post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60612907&postcount=183
It failed on 4.4.4 NK1.
After the reboot, the app ran again automatically but failed again.
Now I'm uninstalling the app.

I have been reading up on the Note 4 forum on Xda and people are saying that it may take couple tries before root access is granted. *Must be online for the app to work, as it connects to their servers to see what exploits can be used to root the phone.
I m on 4.4.4 NJ6, i tried to root with kingroot but it seens that doesn't work
can also confirm that nk1 it did not work. I've even gone as far as trying the pingpong root and the root that the xperia recently got. We are all desperate.
Have any of you guys try opening king user after using kingroot and grant root permissions to something like root checker or does the app just fail while trying to obtain root?

I've tried using root checker after multiple root attempts and reboots and it always fails to verify.
I've tried King Root v4.1. Didn't work on NK1.

I can second that.
I can third that
kingroot wasn't able to root it in either attempt I made, 4.4.4 or 5.0 . I tried with both the android apk and the pc version. Its possible that it requires multiple attempts (its all in chinese so who knows what exploits it is trying)
I just got a replacement device and it came with 4.4.4 so I am hoping to find something to root. there doesn't seem to be anything that works yet.

Thanks for the update on your attempts, ACalcutt.
That's right, it is in Chinese. Who here can read it? I, for one, am curious to learn which exploits it is attempting.
Any updates on this? I have an opportunity to get a Note 3 with NJ6 on it for free from a friend... will Kingroot work? I've kept my finger on the pulse of the Note 4 forums, and I'd do kingroot and then supersume, if it would work.
Thanks!

S7 Kingo Root

Does anyone know if this is legit and fully working?
http://www.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7-root/
And can someone confirm it's not full of spyware etc. I've never heard of them before.
Supposedly Kingoroot & Framaroot are risky to use, so I would wait a bit more for a more "official" way to root it

If I see another kingo root post.... ????
Sent from my SM-N920W8 using Tapatalk
So is the link an advertisement that the Kingo people sponsored? I don't see the ability to comment on that page so if its not legit there's no way to know (except for posts like this in a separate part of the site) which would then beg the question, why was it allowed to be posted?
I have tried this three times on my Verizon Galaxy s7 edge, and it failed all three times. First time it froze at about 20% and the other 2 times it got to 100% but said it failed at the end.
Naw dawg. Wait for the devs to release a legit root method. Stay away from this noise.
But the advantages of Kingroot are plentiful.
According to the OP here on XDA, "KingRoot is an amazing tool for 'lazy people'"
It sends unspecified information from your device to a Chinese server
It roots your device using exploits potentially making it more vulnerable
It makes changes to /system and allows you to make further changes to /system, sometimes putting noobs in really awkward situations that are hard to get out of--they get de-noobified
Edit:
XDA finally took down the link to the Kingroot guide that didn't work:

Hey guys.
I just bought this model too...
Still no luck on getting Root, right?
I checked a bunch of threads all over and only found solution for ZC520KL.
I also tried KingRoot (and several others), but KingRoot was the only one who returned an error message stating that a Root strategy had not yet been found for this particular model.
The request count for this model was 93, including my own.
So, I'm guessing we should all install KingRoot app and even though it does not root our phone, we can still issue a request for the devs to do it.
The more, the merrier.
Best regards,

My HTC One M7 (viper rom) left me so i buy this Zenfone Max Plus the same day, i'm very surprised this low price phone is very much more performant than my old hight price HTC.
That would be very cool to see some rom's on this one, i hope but maybe i'm dreaming.
