I am after a little help , when my phone is connected to the car and someone calls its supposed to put up the caller image , now to add insult to injury when I speak to one of my contacts it puts up an image from another contact but it is the only contact that gives an image(albeit the wrong image).
any ideas

When my XDAII receive a call it does recognize the number but strangely it does only link the number (any number) to only one contact in my list.
I tryed to delete this contact to see what happens but it link witha nother but use it along for all calls.
Can you help me?

Can you dial a number by tapping it from your contacts list?
In some cases yes in others no, this is because in some numbers there is the area code that the XDAII does not recognize because we use 011 here in my country. If I clear that the number can be dialed from the contact list.
So, are you saying that when you receive a call from a phone number which is properly formatted (for your phone to dial it) in your contacts list, it still won't ID the correct number? Remember, it is a simple pattern matching algorithm - it gets a call, looks in your contacts list for a number formatted EXACTLY as it receives it, and displays that contact.
I followed this logic but it wont work to explain what is happening
I did a search and it seems this has popped up before but no1 had an answer.
I've had my MDA for months now, and only a few days ago did this start happening. This happens for all calls. Including ones i have saved on SIM and phone. I even have some ppl with specific ringtones assigned, the ringtones work, but no caller ID.
When i get an incoming call, i only see half the Incoming Call Notification Bubble.
I don't get the CALLER's ID. I get INCOMING CALL and the answer or ignore options.
Thats it.
I've searched in all the phone options i could think off, maybe thinking i accidentally turned off the ID setting. But for the life of me can't find it.
I really do not want to hard reset, as I've had my device setup perfectly the way i want it...Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

I've suspected of currupt photo files 'cause me tom tom navigator lost iz settings at the same time. So i've copied the photos again from the PC and didn't fix it. When I try to add a pic to a contact, the program just freezes when I hit "preview".
When somebody from contact list calls me, instead of displaying his name on the screen, my Qtek shows only his number. This bug is not always present , only sometimes, but it's very annoying...Tryed searching the forum, but couldn't find anything similar...

That is really odd. Try making sure the number has the area code saved in the contact? I know it makes a difference when dialing out sometimes.
Every single record in my list has a same format and begins with "+"I noticed that problem occurs when the device is in stand by mode, and after waiting for some time name, finally, appears ...So, I suppose that it is connected with a memory allocation, or somthing....Also, if contact has dedicated melody or picture, neither melody nor picture will play/show...

I have a question or request. First let me explaine the situation.
I use justVoip.com for calling German Cells cheaper and the USA for free. I call justVoips Landline for free (because I have a landline-flat) and they forward the call to the desired number. I used to just save their number before the contacts number seperatet by a "P" (pause): 08912345P0172123456
When receiving calls my Motorola would still recognize the Call-id, also with the voip number in front of it. But my X1 now doesnt recognize calls with their number inserted...
So my question is... either is there a way to have two seperate phone books running parallel or is there maybe a software that always asks if the preselection should be added when making a call??
Or a nother solution I didnt think of yet..
Hope this wasn't to complicated and you kinda now what i mean...

Let's say my wife is calling me with her iPhone.
But i am busy or have no network. So my wife decides to hang uop without a speaking a voice mail.
I will get a notification that i have an unanswered call. However... thic call is always logged to the wrong (same) person.
So I get the green 1 in my Favorite Contacts Widget but with the wrong person ?
Is there anybody who knows what i am talking about ? or even better has a cure ?
I had similar problem, at least I think it is similar, because I did not understand you completly.
When you have a missed call while you are unaviable you normaly recieve a text message from your service operator.
Are you trying to say that, every text message you get from your service operator is displayed as if you have recieved it from one (always the same one) contact in your adress book?
i never knew what the green "1" is, i never linked it with missed calls because for me its completely random. for me anyways.

Does the contact have something stupid in the phone number field on facebook? If you turn off Facebook contact syncing, sign out of facebook and friend stream, restart, sign back in (This is optional), the problem should be solved.
TheOriginalKi is correct. Exactly same thing happened to me.
One of my friends, lets say "Contact A" added "xxx/xxx-xxx" to facebook phone number field. After I linked Contact A from phone to Contact A facebook account, every service message I recieved from my operator was display as if I recieved it from Contact A. After canceling Phone->Facebook link for Contact A, all service messages were adressed correctly.
So your best option is to ask your friend (the one whose name appears in service messages) to edit his facebook phone field correctly, or simply cancel phone-facebook link for that specific contact.

Well now that you mention it.. This person had something weird in his contact. I deleted it (he had a weird telephone number. it was set to unknown) and now everything is fine...
Great phone this desire....
