PerfDump Accessibility Service - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

I am running Open Beta 1 and noticed PerfDump (which is disabled) in the list of apps that can be granted Accessibility Service. Does anyone know what this is? A Google search turned up no useful information.

I am also interested to find out what this is, it's showing on my 5T.

May be it collect User data. I have that Too.

It's on non One Plus phones so I don't think it's another way for them to steal our data.

Android checkin service - 70-80% of cpu

Hey guys,
So the other day I rebooted my blade, and it was running painfully slow. I rebooted again and again to no avail, so downloaded a cpu meter.
The results from this were that android/checkin service is using a drastic (70-80%) of the cpu when this is happening.
I launched a terminal, killed the process, the phone rebooted and it was fine.
Now the problem is, if i reboot my phone again it goes back into slow mode, with the checkin service using the cpu.
Anybody know anything about this process?
Im running stock rom, unlocked, rooted, uninstalled bloatware, using go launcher, custom lockscreen and custom font.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like an app failing to sync data. Try betterbatterystats - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 it might help you to find out which app.
Wow really? One app failing to sync uses that much? Wow. Hmm i'll give that a try. Is that syncing with market updates? Or just general sync?
Thanks for the reply, hope it isnt an app i use a lot :S

A badly written app misbehaving could. If you find out what it is then you can try changing whatever app settings might be causing it, removing app data, or uninstalling the app. Better battery stats should give more information on what app it is, i think android checkin could be any app that syncs data. either that, or it's some kind of location checkin thing, have you used lattitude at all? it could be that.
Unfortunately betterbatterystats isn't free in the market, and the dow load links in the post arn't compatible :-/

So according to astro's process manager it's 'system_server'.
Does that shed any light on it?

okay so i think i've solved it by turning off location services.
It might be because foursquare recently added assisted gps.
So, looking around the internet, this problem stems back to when google latitude and other location services were created. Something along the lines of multiple location requests kills the device.
If thats the case, then why is it still affecting phones today? I'll let you know if it has properly fixed it though.

It could be foursquare or latitude, maybe the combination of both. My money would be on latitude, if you've ever set it up, it seems to be quite badly made & i don't think many people use it, but google insist on bundling it with google maps. Maybe you can turn it off if you open the app & press menu, I never joined, so I'm not sure.
Turning off location services will affect apps that you might want to use, like maps & navigation.
Well I don't have latitude on mine, it may have been installed but i removed it when i was clearing bloatware. Havent had a problem since turning off location services, perhaps forsquare uses the same buggy api as latitude? I dont need location services much anyway, and as long as i turn it off before a restart it should be okay

And it's done it again, even with location services disable... :-/

If you don't want location services then why do you have foursquare installed?
I did want them enabled, but I thought it had solved the problem, which evidently it hasn't. Uninstalled it for good measure and it still did it, so no idea what it could be now.

[Q] Any way to prevent Facebook app from sharing my location?

I have enabled location sharing from settings since I frequent use my phone for turn-by-turn voice directions and some pedometer-like apps to count my activity. I also like some Google Now functionality that enabling location access gives.
However, besides disabling this setting system-wide, it seems that the Facebook app always shares my location when I post status updates - and I find that extremely annoying. I scanned all app settings and could not find a way to disable location sharing from Facebook.
My question - is there anyway I can keep the system-level setting while preventing Facebook app from accessing location? I have not rooted my phone (Nexus 4) but will be willing to do so if that can help me with this problem.. Any suggestions?
Doesn't the LBE security software allow you to set permissions on a per app basis? I think you need to search for it on xda for the translated version.
Facebook doesn't share my location each update, I just checked a bunch of previous ones and they don't mention it at all.
Thanks!! LBE seems like it might do the trick... Will root my phone tomorrow morning and put lbe.

Rusty try checking in to some place once. After that it will always share your location for all posts you make. I checked in one without knowing this‚ and there is no way to undo it after.

Its under settings in the Facebook app
I don't see it under settings... Can you please elaborate? The only setting I see is for sharing location on Chat/messenger but that does not change the location sharing behavior on regular posts.
Any way‚ I rooted the phone but lbe privacy does not work with jelly beans (soft reboot on startup - several recent reviews on play store also says that).. So for now after resetting the phone I've not used the checkin feature on Facebook.. It's a bad workaround and I hope LBE fixes it's jelly bean issues soon.
Thanks again

Unknown App sending URL to open in Samsung Browser on Galaxy S10+

For quite some time now I'm searching for a solution for the following issue, for which so far anything I tried didn't solve it. Hoping someone here has a suggestion on how to resolve it.
Several times per day an unknown app sends an url to open in the Samsung Browser. Each time it's a different website, so blocking the site or domain doesn't work.
I cleaned cache/date, blocked background data for apps, reset everything, used dozens of malware/android security apps - none of these apps found anything suspicious - running AdGuard, tried all Samsung Browser Ad blocker, uninstalled app by app to find the causing one, but nothing solved the issue so far.
What are your thoughts?
Thank you.

Look for an app named "Mobile Installer" or "Mobile Services Manager". They install apps in the background and cause system wide 'pop-up' ads. You can use PD MDM to disable it if you cant through settings.

Thank you.
I looked in PD MDM for such an app but don't have one with or similar to the names you mentioned.
I noticed that the package on your screenshot is a Sprint related app. I'm sorry I didn't mention before, but I have an unlocked device on T-Mobile, without any carrier specific apps.

The unlocked firmware wouldn't have either app anyway. That does make me wonder what's causing the issues. The apps i mentioned are installed by carriers on most android devices. They make money from the ads and when someone opens an app it auto installed. I first discovered it on my S5 with stock firmware. At that time data plans were still limited and it would be downloading 100+mb apps on data even with background data disabled.
