Anybody planning on upgrading to Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus?
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus seems like a very exciting phone and it starts only at $150!
Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus preview video from a launch event in China today.

Not worth upgrade.
I will wait for Redmi Note 5

Yes, there should be a new fullscreen Redmi note 5 in a few months too.
Though I had Redmi 4 and I have Mi5s now. Still new Redmi 5 Plus looks so sexy with that new screen!
I think I gonna order it just to play for a while and will give away to the girlfriend or sell, when new Mi7 / Mi6 fullscreen models come out.
I hated the Redmi 4 size/design, 5-5,2 screen xiaomi phones are so much better and comfortable to hold in hand. These should be the perfect size, but Note probably will be unnecessarily bigger again.

If redmi 5 is already taller than note 4, then how big the note 5 will be?

Can't wait for a 6" note 5 with sd660 chip. It's going be a beast

Going to buy it once it gets released in India.
I'm going for the 64GB ROM & 4GB RAM variant!

Is it better than Note 4X? Both have similiar price and specs, but there are some pros and cons to both and I have really hard time deciding between both of them.

Got mine today!
Pretty impressed, the new phone is faster than my daily Mi5s!
And camera looks on about the same level of quality! Yet this is a 149 eur phone!

SICK SPEED!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G mobile,Xiaomi redmi 2 are both ok
Few similar features... just brand, bluetooth version... and perhaps camera sensor:
http://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/xiaomi-redmi-2,xiaomi-redmi-note-4g
expected Xiaomi Redmi 2 'Enhanced Edition' with 2Gb RAM / 16Gb, more interesting device
it seems we are entering times of multiple devices under the same name... will be difficult to follow and to know what is for what is this the answer of China in order to protect themselves as better as they can? meaning that if more products with the same name are on the market this will make things difficult for the people developing custom things for them? On the software side I know that is already difficult: I need to follow only the developments compatible with my hardware, otherwise I will have at least headaches... if not bricks...

It's really nice the fact that they added a fingerprint sensor. I really hope that it's price will be at 799RMB, but I think that 1000RMB is more realistic. In any case it will be a great choice for a midr-ange phone

Also I read somewhere about 3,000mAh battery. I hope it's false because the 4,000mAh were fine

Is Xiaomi Redmi 3A, 599RMB
Really interesting device, if it keeps the low price it's a must buy. Even for the finger print sensor alone.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus smartphone released at $125

I have heard nice news that Lenovo has announced Lenovo Vibe K5 plus smartphone to sell at $125. I can’t believe this kind of price. It’s so cheap. But how about the specs?
It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 Octa core processor, and it has RAM 2GB, it has 5inch FHD IPS screen. As for its camera, it has 13mp rear camera. And it has 5mp front camera. It support dual sim card, dual standby. And it has 2,700mAh battery, which can support long time working.
It has three colors. Graphite Gray,*Platinum Silver, and Champagne Gold, which will be officially announced on March 23. So what do you think of this smartphone? Will it really sell at $125 , or even higher.?
Don’t forget to share with me.

Seems like the honor 5x slightly iPhone ish body but same specs. If that price is right and if the screen is of same quality as the 5x then that's a bargain. I bought the 5x because my HTC one m9 died from suicide.. But I've been very happy with the performance the camera and battery really surprised me aswell as the screen I think the screen is beautiful compared to the m9 everyone know the camera sucked on it so i feel like it was a upgrade for 200 not a downgrade. Hope that helps especially since specs are almost identical to each other.

Another Xiaomi Redmi 3 contender!
i like this design, looks like a phone worth much more than the price tag, great specs aswell.
Lenovo have some good phones Anyway i like this phone cuz it have snapdragon )
It's going to be great, but if you ask me I would say that $180 seems more reasonable price. $125 is too cheap for this kind of smartphone
wow !

Time's up for Redmi Note 3?

Okay as the title suggests, my post is all about whether the prime of our phone is behind it and it's time to cash on the phone and move to a new beast where development is very much active be it from the community with cust roms or the creators and their stock rom. I mean if I look at the pace of how things are going on Oreo compared to how things went on Nougat, there's a world of a difference. Besides our specs are starting to lag behind, so is it still worth to hold on the Redmi Note 3 SD or it's time to move onto a new beast?!
I'm still in love with my Redmi Note 3, I never had problems with it. It was always easy to remove the Bootloop, the battery after almost 2 years is still perfect, I have no lags, I can change ROM whenever I want. I would not change it for anything.

Specs are starting to lag behind? How come? Most of the devices in this price range still use snapdragon 625 or even less if it's from some manufacturer like Samsung, Nokia and so on. Don't be ridiculous... Redmi Note 3 was ahead of its time when it comes to price to performance ratio and it still holds up today pretty well. Samsung a8 which is brand new and more expensive has the exact same Antutu score as redmi note 3 and redmi note 3 is from 2016. I would choose Note 3 every day of the week.
OP, Can you mention any device that has more Oreo custom roms than Kenzo/Kate? Because i haven't really found any.
No, i'm not agree with you. Kenzo still beast.
Until Xiaomi starting to use 660 or it successors for redmi, i don't think to upgrade my device. I just not really care about SD 61x, 62x, or 63x series. That what i'm thinking about..
(Or maybe its time to thinking xiaomi's flagship then, coz think it impossible to xiaomi using 66x or it successor for redmi series.. ?)

Going to buy the Exynos and not sure anymore

Hi guys today im going to buy the S10+ Exynos and after reading all the bad things about the battery and camera im not sure anymore.
Is the battery life on idle going to be fixed? Is the lower quality of camera in the Exynos version is going to be fixed too?
Between the OnePlus 7 pro and the S10+ Exynos which would you choose?
Oneplus has had the worst camera of any major smartphone brand for several years running which is why the XDA section for every OnePlus phone has very active threads about using various builds of the ported Google Pixel Camera--you can't take even decent pictures on a OnePlus phone without a ported camera app.
If photography is your concern considering a OnePlus phone is a joke.
Anyone who has owned a OnePlus phone over the last few years should also know that standby battery drain is a frequent problem on their phones--especially after any OTA update.
The only advantage the OnePlus phone will have is if you want to run a custom ROM because there will be more ROMs available for their phones--but since developers stopped using OnePlus phones after the 3T model the ROMs are computer compiled with virtually no testing and always have bugs (sometimes major ones) even when they are labeled as stable.
My vote isn't for the OnePlus phone in case that isn't obvious enough.
I have both a 7 pro and a S10+. I find myself reaching for the 7 pro a lot more. Oxygen OS is just lightweight and fast, you can expect bi monthly updates for atleast 2 years.
Oneplus has pushed several updates for the camera and I find the camera solid. You can get better results with installing gcam but a lot of S10 owners do the same.
I just took delivery of a 10+ Exynos and the camera is excellent in my opinion.

I'd highly recommend the S10+.
I moved from an iPhone 8 plus and don't regret it. Battery life is amazing and the camera is amazing as well. No issues here.
I recall seeing a setting somewhere on my S10+ for a battery save option that learns your usage patterns and helps get the best battery life. Battery optimiser I think it was. Not sure how good it is though. Never needed it.
Can't argue with the points about the OnePlus 7 Pro either. Tested one in store and the experience was buttery smooth. The 90hz display makes a ton of difference.
In the end, I felt OxygenOS on the OnePlus was too simplistic for me after using the S10+ first. Just my personal opinion though. If I hadn't tried the S10 first I probably would have went OnePlus
