Honor meet-up - Open floor discussion, Honor faces the crowd post sales

Hello,
On 4th August 2017, Honor called for a user meet-up at Chennai inviting Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6x users.
The primary agenda was to have a Open floor discussion seeking customer expectations and to address challenges / concerns/ issues faced by users.
Honor as a sub brand of Huawei, with its successful launch of two major devices(8 pro and 6x) looks forward to stabilize itself in the competitive Indian market.
Main take away for Honor was to address Heating issues, Customization improvements, other system inconsistencies.
Many other bugs were pointed out and I have typed out the entire session discussion and attached as a PDF.
Honor would like users to have a strong community base. They would want people signing up in https://club.hihonor.com/in/ and use that as a platform for discussions and also for pointing out to issues that needs attention.
Please participate in the poll as well. What issues do you like Honor to address in the forthcoming update?
Thank you,
Abhishek
i would like to actually see some optimisation on their EMUI -- as in providing more options, etc in some aspects. or re-organising their menu, etc...
actually, would be nice if you could also refer to this thread that i specifically created for the purpose of providing feedback/ suggestion to honor/ Huawei: If you could improve on the phone...

An important thing that honor 6x doesnt have is an equilizer..the audio quality while comparing with other phones at the same price range is actualy poor..An equalizer is inevitable in an android phone..so it should be included in the next update.

This is very important, developers must see!!!

Great gods, hello! I am a mobile phone enthusiast from China. My mobile phone is the LG V20 (VS995). My English is not good. So I would like to use Google's translation. I hope you don’t mind that Google cannot be used in China. We can only It is very pity to rely on ssr to visit these foreign websites....Because you can't access Google, the Google service in the mobile phone has been removed, and there is no Google GCM. The application notifications are sent through the background to send notification messages. It has led to Caton, China's MIUI I think you should know, more famous, I am writing this article is that I hope you can complete a request, is to help VS995 to do a MIUI system, I will not do the system, but I know This must not be easy. Xiaomi mi 5 is also a soc of 820. It may be easier, and it can also be transplanted. After all, MIUI is the best system in China in China. It can solve my troubles. This phone also has a lot of people in China. Concerned, maybe because the technology is not good, I will come here to ask you, I hope you can complete my very unreasonable request, thank you! !

Warning about xiaomi.eu

WARNING ABOUT XIAOMI.EU
A few months ago I purchased my first Xiaomi phone, the Mi MIX, and discovered the xiaomi.eu ROM project. I joined their forum and was very happy for the help and guidance of the moderators and other members as I learned to install TWRP and flash their ROMs and updates. Last week I purchased the Mi Max 3, and as Xiaomi has not yet released a Global version for this new phone, the xiaomi.eu ROMs became even more important to me.
Yesterday I read an interesting article online about Xiaomi completing beta testing of MIUI 10 for some devices and that they had released a new China Stable MIUI 10 ROM for the Mi MIX. I was going to download and install xiaomi.eu's release yesterday of 8.8.30 (based on the China developer ROM), but then wondered if perhaps I shouldn't wait to see if xiaomi.eu would release their own version of this new Stable MIUI 10 ROM for my Mi MIX. So I asked this question on the forum (and provided the link to the article as a reference in order to be brief in my note).
China Stable MIUI 10 released today for Mi MIX (miui_MIMIX_V10.0.1.0.OAHCNFH)
Now that beta testing is finished for MIUI for some devices, will xiaomi.eu release their own version of the China Stable ROMs?
https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaom...-china-stable/
Last night when I went to sign into the xiaomi.eu site I was greeted with a pop up message that says:
Oops! We ran into some problems.
You have been banned for the following reason: Warned not to post these links, continued to do so. Banned..
I'm flabbergasted at their behaviour. I have been in law enforcement (prosecutor) responsible for cyber crime in my Province for decades and have always treated other IT professionals with courtesy and respect. I can't even log in to their site to leave a message for the moderators to ask what this is all about. No one from xiaomi.eu had ever written to me with any type of warning about anything in the past. I didn't know it was wrong to post a link to an online article as a reference for my question. I thought my question was reasonable, and even if for some reason someone took offence at an honest question perhaps they could have responded by telling me that privately or on the forum.
So before anyone with a Mi MAX 3 comes to depend on the people at xiaomi.eu please take warning from my experience and be very hesitant to ask any questions on their forum or your access to their website will come to an abrupt end as mine did.

With all due respect and total good intention: I believe this is a thread for the Q&A subforum, not for the development one
On the other hand, strange stuff your story...
Thank you. Point taken.
Power corrupts. Being a moderator does weird things to people. I was almost banned from here for supposedly posting pornographic material. What actually happened? I posted a pic of a stick figure (you know, the ones you see at the cross walk) doing a female stick figure which I used to replace the MI boot logo with.
Some people are more sensitive these days.
I have had the same experience, tried different network . Tried registering through my friends computer.Googled it . Now I don't have email id to register and not able to contact the administrator. I badly wanted to ask them about a bug . All I could do is sit and watch for someone to post the bug
Which Country ? Maybe a security issue ? Or just a forum issue ? Because it's seems it work like a charm !

They do not allowing some email services at all for account registration., e.g. Yahoo if I remember correctly.
If you have not been personally banned for some reason, that might be the problem.
Try some unusual email services, or a personal email service, etc.

I realise that your post is old.
But I want to point out that Xiaomi EU is a 3rd party group and not owned by Xiaomi.
You apparently broke one of their ROM RELEASE thread rules, more than once and must have received a final warning of bad conduct. Afterwards you broke the rule again, as you indicated and you were banned.
So I am not sure why this is a surprise.
The same thing happened with me too I can't create an account there, but I don't know where is problem?

They have blacklisted certain email providers, Yahoo for one. Have no idea why.
Try some other email if one doesn't get accepted
Mine is Gmail not Yahoo but I think there is something else [emoji846]
Sent from my MIX 2 using Tapatalk
I can't register as a new registrant with my gmail account nor can I read content I find via Google because it grays over with a message saying welcome google visitor asking me to register and log in (I forget the exact wording but it was churlish). Giving up. Ill stick to more hospitable forums that presume good will.

Encrypted and unusable source code from ASUS

This is a request for help from XDA mods and community leaders.
Asus max phones have gained significant popularity in some countries like India, Indonesia and Russia. Asus has just released updated versions of the series a few days back. They are also very frequent on providing users with updates. The community is fairly happy on that front.
However there is one big challenge lately. For past two source code releases of the Max Pro M1 as well as the first one for Max Pro M2, source code zip uploaded on Asus website contains only encrypted gibberish, and all of ~600 MB.
Not only is this a hindrance for the development and modding community, but a violation of GPL.
Is it possible to reach out to ASUS and ask them rectify this?

There is no point in releasing the kernel sources then. Is there ?
This is completely wrong. I bought this device after reading on XDA that kernel source of this device was released (probably even before the device went for sale). Vanilla Android with released kernel source in that price range seemed a pretty good deal. And I'm happy with my purchase.
I'm not a developer myself. But as a person who loves to use custom ROMs and kernels and stuffs, I know how important kenrel source is.
So far the device got a good (better than many devices) development support.
Now that Asus encrypted the kernel source, it is affecting the development. I personally feel like cheated. It's like drawning a huge number of ROM enthusiast buyers to the product, and then betray them. It worries me even more because official Pie is releasing in February.
Why release the source in the first place if you're gonna encrypt the newer versions later? Plus, its a violation of GPL. What's next? Making Bootloader Unlocking impossible like Huawei / Honor did??
We are not asking much from Asus. We are not asking to fix bug or to add new features. We are just asking Asus to give what they gave in the first place, the very reason many of us bought this device. Asus, please do not encrypt the source, please make the source usable for the developers...
Thank you.
Asus should take action on these immediately. why released encryption when no use. they think we are blind users . common asus dont play games. as per ur statements in relese u should release then open source code. i think it whould bump to twitter and zentalk forum so they can see it as major issue. so twitter response is must and zentalk too. post these on zentalk too.
Well I Just Bought this Phone one month ago.. 11/11/2018 now i felt sad why asus whai u do this
Thn why even release encrypted one. Asus this is not acceptable.
Whats the point of source release like this.
WTH!! is wrong with ASUS , it shud not be like this ????
kecewa
3rd time using asus, and tweaking still not good.
They must release kernel source without encryption.
This sucks. I hope this will get enough highlight so that Asus will revert back to open releases of kernal source code.
Damn I didn't expect Asus will do that thing..
