Cellular strength and throughput - Honor View 10 Real Life Review

We know how much you like to stream, ahem, "videos", and so cellular data is mega-important. Rate this thread to express how you think the Honor V10's LTE performs. A higher rating indicates that it's fantastic: throughput is excellent and signal strength is top-notch.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add.

Seems good here
LTE speed with the multi tasking ability of this phone is good.
I can download a movie and watch videos with no problem.
Sent from my HUAWEI BKL-L09 using XDA Labs

Are you getting LTE-A (4.5G) on your Honor View 10? I was having the LTE-A all the time with my OnePlus 5 but I have never seen it on my Honot View 10 - same SIM card, same mobile provider...

I would like to apologise in advance that I am "bumping" my own question but it's important for me to understand if I'm the only one with such an issue. Does somebody get LTE-A on the Honor View 10?

I do not believe so
All I've seen so far is band 5
But with 21+Mbs it seems fast enough.
I don't think it's been implemented where I'm at.. Just 4g lte

i also wonder if Honor View 10 support LTE-A because i ask honor admin at facebook they said that honor view 10 does not support LTE-A. but in GSM arena it state that view 10 support LTE-A. i buy this phone because it nice features include LTE-A. but unfortunately im really disappointing when they said it not support it. Based on my research i found that the processor support LTE-A but other state that the antenna does not support LTE-A. i dont have any idea about this before. anyone got HONOR VIEW 10 LTE-A?

Is Volte = LTE-A at all? you can root and install magisk, download a module call VoEnabler, after that go to "mobile setting" ->a new option call "volte", and you can try to see if have any difference

I've never had an issue with the cell signal on the Honor View 10. I have great signal most places I go.

[Q] MX4 Pro 800Mhz LTE Support

Hello everyone,
I am looking at the possibility of buying a Meizu MX4 Pro but have some concerns about the LTE connection. It doesn't look like there is any support for the 800Mhz band, which my carrier (EE) use.
EE also uses 2.6 and 1.8 Ghz which the handset supports, however I am unsure as to whether I would experience a drop in performance on 4G from my current phone (Galaxy S5). I have read that 800Mhz has better range and penetration so will pick up a better signal indoors and when further from aerial masts.
I would appreciate any input in to this as It will definitely affect my purchasing decision.
Many thanks.

Your totally right.
Meizu mx4 pro actually isn't supporting LTE 800MHz (even if the processor is able to, there is some rumors about supporting it end 2015, but rumors....according to me).
With the 800MHz there is better range, but not better speed. With 1800 or 2600, better speed , less range....
I have a Mx4 pro, so I'm concerned, believe me....

If you don't mind me asking, what country do you live in? And have you found your 4G connection unstable (I am especially concerned about reception indoors)?
There are so many things about this phone that make it appeal to me (audio, 2k screen, easy root access) but this could be a deal breaker!
I have read that there are some ways to enable other bands on Qualcomm phones (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059), I wonder whether this would work on Meizu MX4 Pro?
Thanks for your reply

I'm living in France.
I'm on FREE network who's not using 800MHZ LTE but I use 4G everyday, I have no problem of reception in 4G even indoor.
But FREE is using 2600MHz band.
Sometimes if my phone is caughting 3G and I go in 4G zone, I must choose 3G then 4G to push the phone to change antenna. But since I'm in 4.2.5A firmware, the phone is working better.
When I was on 4.2.2.1i version of firmware, there was some lags, some reception problems. Just a few bug remaining since I'm on 4.2.5A beta firmware.
I hope that when the lollipop firmware will be out, all the problems will be repaired.
Actually I don't think that we can force using some bands in root access on MX4 pro, it's possible on MX4 because the processor is different. No info today concerning our MX4 PRO.
but the samsung alpha is using the same processor and works on 800MHz LTE. So it's possible on mx4 pro ...Technically speaking of course.

IF im reading correctly you implied that there is a way to force mx4 to use diffrent LTE bands in root access. If so can you tell me how or point me in the right direction with a link.

Honor Note 8 AL10 with ATT

I just got a Huawei Honor Note 8 version AL10. On frequencycheck.com it shows that it has ATTs main bands 2,4,17; however I only am getting 3G. Has anyone else been able to get LTE on ATTs network with the international AL10 version of the Honor Note 8?
Sorry for late Answer,the HN8 Lte Bands 1/3/7,works not with ATT,only 3G or H+

That really sucks, was looking forward to buying this phone. Hopefully when HN9 gets released later this year it will support LTE on AT&T. Imagine doing video calls on 3G again or not being able to talk and surf the web over LTE, definitely not fun.

Just tested my Redmi Note 8 Pro against my Poco F1 and via WiFi the Poco F1 is a bit faster - 180Mbps for the Poco F1 download and 160 Mbps upload. For the Redmi Note 8 Pro it reached 160Mbps download and 150 Mbps upload. Both tests made with Speedtest program and on the same spot in my house, same 5Ghz wireless network. For comparison, my laptop goes to 4-500Mbps. It's a gigabit connection.
On cellular data it's the opposite: Redmi Note 8 Pro reached 45Mbps download and 10 upload and the Poco F1 got only 25Mbps down and 6-8 Mbps upload. Again both were next to each other, same spot in my house and connected to the same server for correct testing.
I've seen the Poco F1 reach 8MB/s on cellular before not even once, but not tonight I guess.
I'm very pleased with both phones!
Cheers
You have RN7 with EU rom?

Hello! I have a little request from you and many other people. I'm one of Redmi Note 8 Pro users and theres alot of us and many of us have only chinese ROM (software) version. You have european, which we all need and it's very simple for you to share it with us, it would help alot of people. Can u help us? To to this:
Go to settings > My device > MIUI Version (at top) > three dots at right top > Download latest package
After downloading it DON'T REBOOT phone, just exit from this manager
Then go to file manager on phone and "downloaded_rom" folder. And there should be zip file which with "PGGEUXM" in name. It's full ROM file, which everybody need! And we cannot find it enywhere
Can u share this file for us? You can use https://mega.nz/ etc. hosting, we would be very gratefull for that!

Redmi Note 8 Pro doesn't have many useful combinations of carrier aggregation, except B3+B1
I didn't find any similar tools and tutorials to enable LTE+ for Mediatek like QPST & QXDM for Qualcomm

Samsung Galaxy S20+ G985F Intenational Version 4G version

Yes, because the S20 /S20+ /S20Ultra were combined into 1 single chapter which..it is not ok.
And because each phone model has it's on 4G or 5G model..it is even worse.
from here my initiative.
I didn't even know this phone had 8GB of ram instead of 12 compared to the 5G variant. I feel kinda cheated.
Anyone getting poor reception with their S20+ (G985F) ? My s8 gets 2 bars of LTE at camp yet my s20 gets literally nothing. Straight up no signal. I thought maybe this phone doesn't support the required bands for LTE here in Canada, but I checked and it does. So I think it's just poor reception? I am really regretting buying this phone if I can't even get reception at camp, when everyone else does.
Somebody knows what means these numbers in the down corners of the screen at Galaxy S20 plus ??
I bought it in this condition from ebay without any problem !!
