LG G6 FLASH to another rom and unlock bootloader - Sprint LG G6 Questions & Answers

I recently flashed my ls993 on the h870 and everything worked except wifi and sim. I wanted to try h872 but this led to qdloader 9008. I need help and it's possible I can unlock the bootloader. I suspect that all lg g6 have the same motherboard and firmware can be put one and the same. I'm asking for help in unbricking and I wanted to check unlock.bin

I'm using LS993 on Sprint. If you can think of way to back up my partitions I'll send you copy to flash so as to repair your G6.

Any chance to flash unlocked LG G6 H872 with H870 firmware?

Hi everyone. I've got a fully unlocked T-Mobile LG G6 H872 and struggling to find a way to remove T-Mobile boot / splash screen and bloatware. Is there any possibility to do it without any risk? I'm thinking about flashing 10T firmware for H870 but afraid of bricking the phone. I see no hardware differences between these two devices. Thanks in advance.
If you flash the H870 firmware you will brick your phone. Try using adb comands to remove bloadware. Search one post in xda that explain the procedure and it is 100% working.
LG Package Disabler will let you disable any app, including TMO and other crap that does not allow you to Disable in the App section.

1) How did you get your G6 (H872) fully unlocked (PLEASE SHARE)?
2) Can you download your stock ROM and post it here so the devs can work on the ROOT and/or the vanilla ROM version? Thank you!!

Take à few minutes to compose your query in a clearer manner.
What LG developer site, and what unlock bin?
What are you attempting to accomplish?
If I can advise, I will, but I don't have enough info here to even know if I can advise correçtly.
Cheers
Kevin
This person seems to be trying to unlock the bootloadee, but somebody in the past flashed the debug bootloader and installed the US996 firmware on either the h910, VS995, or sprint variant. First thing we need to know is the model. We need a picture of the model (under the battery in the back of the phone)

If the phone was rooted via dirty santa then the bootloader is already unlocked
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I had this same issue with a US996 that I bought on Swappa.com. Turns out that the "factory unlocked" was really a "carrier-unlocked U.S. Cellular" model.
I was able to use the DirtySanta thing to unlock it, but it still bugs me to this day.

Shifting to Unlocked G6 variant and having root?

I saw a few posts talking about shifting G6 h871 (at&t) to us997 or h870, h872.
Is it really possible to shift to these versions and then have the option to root the phone?

Bootloader unlock via EDL

Hello, given that other LG phones have been unlock with EDL by flashing leaked engineering bootloaders, is it possible for someone with the European H870 to backup their eng.img file so that it can be flashed through EDL for non-european variants and do the same procedure? I know it has to be done using test points but then is it possible? I am willing to use my non-unlockable phone for this. Thank you
H870 can be unlocked. So is no point flashing via EDL. I saw that guys flashed other model firmwares, so they trick phone thinking being something else.

That's only for the European version. It is not available on the site for other countries, even though I've tried.
