I haven't updated because I even didn't receive the update, my phone is branded, but yes, this version causes battery drains, there are many posts online about that. I suggest to quickly update when the b190 rolls out for everyone.

OK cool , I'm running the same software version, and read I wouldn't get it since I accepted the broken version
Really? BOC4 looks like a later build even if the VZW flyer looks the same. If it were the same it should have been reissued as OA8. Makes no sense that Verizon would pull it, prob for performance, sit on it and reissue the same FW under a different build number. It's gotta include some change, even if minor. I'm expecting we'll eventually be allowed to take it.
Where did you read that OA8's won't get it? I noticed the sammobile and one other story reported the build no. as OA4, not OC4 that's shown by VZW which may be leading to some of that confusion. Something issued as OA4 would have been a roll back from OA8 based on my understanding of how build numbers are assigned.
The comments from Android police
So I ODIN'ed back to NK2, unrooted, reset data and ran System update. I got the same OA8 update applied in February. So "taking the broken release negates the most recent update", is not true. There is no newer update that I see.
This is all very poorly communicated by Verizon.

FWIW I read an article yesterday that Sammy is in the finishing stages of rolling out 5.0.1 but it has no plans to go to 5.1 for the S4 & S5.

Since the posting on Verizon just went up on the 27th of this month, I tend to think that may have changed, but so far no update available.

Just got the update ... so far wifi smart switch seems to be workin again. Only been on it for 15 mins.
I've had it for I'd say 2 hrs. Everything seems the same a tad snappier, brighter colors and smoother transition
I assume some of you that are getting it are going to it from OA8?
Yup I was on OA8 before BOC4
Do any of you guys on the latest Verizon release, OC4, have Phone INFO ★Samsung★, free from the Play Store, installed. If so, under OS INFO, what is the changelist number for this release?

Mine shows 3846539
2nd release fixed borked initial
I took the first 5.0 release and had the fast battery discharge and overheating issues. Just finished day one on the 2nd release and have been on batt for 5 hours showing 6 hours remaining with screen use at 10% android os @ 10% android system at 10%. These are the same usage stats as before with out the battery being charged twice in the same timeframe. so I'm happy with the update and would recommend taking it if you were like me looking to root to fix the issues.

Thank you JohnKuczek! Is that really the changelist number for the new, OC4, build?
The reason I ask is that it matches, exactly, the changelist that the old OA8, Feb; build was based on.

I was previously on 5.0.2 on my UK S6 Edge sim free and yesterday I got this 5.1.1 update.
No idea if it's the standard 5.1.1 or the updated one that fixes the memory and battery leaks.

That's BOGB, so the latest 5.1.1.
Too early to say for sure if this fixes all my issues with my S6E but, after 24 hours running it, it does seem better than any of the other S6E builds I've used.

Dave

That's cool. It's difficult for me to say as I never got the update to the first 5.1.1 and was stuck on 5.0.2 and only yesterday did i get the update to 5.1.1
But so far battery life seems to be on par with 5.0.2 and I do notice that unlocking the lock screen and going into the home screen seems a tad faster.
is it worth to loose root? cos i'm still on 5.02 with Root Exploit [email protected] and i use Titanium Backup a lot
Battery seems to be better on mine since the update

I'm not finding much different than BOFJ. Battery maybe better but too early to say yet.
Just a question to participators, what version of Android were you all on prior to the update..I'm trying to get my head around this update as there's another news that Samsung has released another update of about 120mb in France...

No issues on Indian firmware, but gave this error on Singapore firmware
What indian firmware you use bro?
This V20e-TWN-XX update for LG G5 freaked me out for a bit - after the update it burned up ~15% of the battery. Then after a few restarts it seems to have calmed down...

Exactly the same thing that happened to me.
I don't know which part helped, but I did 2 restarts and then unplugged the battery, on the 3rd start it seems to work fine now. I charged it to 100% and I'm curious if battery life is at all improved. It went downhill with the initial update to 7.0 .

Regarding V20e-TWN-XX update for LG G5:
After a few days of use I can say that the battery life has not changed/improved as compared to before this update. "Phone Idle" is still #1 consumer, using 2X as much energy as the next biggest energy consumer.
I have not inspected every option, but I don't see any other changes due to this update. If I would have a choice I would most likely not upgrade to this release, although nothing bad has happened either.

Confused about OTA update 058

Hi,
today I was notified that OTA update 16.2017.1908.058 is available for download.
I am sure I had already installed an "update 058" back in September.
But my phone reports current version is ASUS_X00TD_16_2017.1906.057
Current:
Proposed OTA update:
Well, regardless of what happened, do you recommend to install the update or does it have potential issues?
Thank you and best regards,
/_uke
Take a look at this thread. You can find the discussion regarding the old updates. Apart from minor issues that I have seen, the 058 has tad bit smaller battery life compared to 057. I used to get about 9 hours of SOT on 058 compared to the 10+ hours I could get on 057.
There is 059 ota update.
