Brandee app doesn't work - Huawei Mate 9 Pro Questions & Answers

I have a logo creating app that doesn't work on Mate 9 Pro. It's called Brandee.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xlabz.Brandee
The app seems to work fine when creating a new logo. But only the text I add in the app is visible and gets exported. No graphics. I've contacted the developer and got this email in return after many mails back and forth:
"
I'm coming back to you with a bad news. After a lot of internal testing we found out that your specific device Huwaii with Android 7.0 alone has this issue and our engineers are not able to find the reason why. Most if not all of the other Android devices seems to not have this problem - we had this tested on at least 6 different devices.
I'm sorry but I don't think this is fixable. If you have bought a IAP in the app let me know and we can refund it."
They have some sort of security thing in the app that prevents the user from taking screenshots in the app. Shouldn't this be an easy fix for them? This is the only app I've had problems with, and I've tried hundreds of apps on this phone. Any thoughts?

I downloaded and did a quick test of the app on the 8 beta and it worked fine, not paid version.
You could try the beta or wait for the official 8 update that will come in the future.

New Android Market Website

So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.
https://market.android.com/
Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.

Facebook app

When I try to upload pictures on my FB via the application, it reaches 100% and then I get an error that the transfer failed. If I do it on the browser it works.
What seems to be the problem? I am on HC 3.2 and my Xoom is unrooted.
Works fine here. Try signing out, clearing data, signing in, and trying again.
No, it didn't work.
I can't see my albums either.

TBH, that app is flaky as h*ll, adn gives nothing but problems. I use the mobile browser for most facebooking. It's far superior. However, that doesn't answer your question...
I seem to remember the latest version of that app fixing that issue. Are you on the latest by chance?
Yes I am. I even removed and installed the app again.
No answer here?
The best thing to do for your Facebook needs is to download a third party app or possibly search Google for the .apk of an older version and sideload it. A lot of people have been complaining about the latest update in the comments on the Market page for the Facebook app.
[BEGIN RANT]
I do wish they'd release a proper tablet version of their app already. The current app looks alright even if it's stretched but a dedicated tablet version would do way more justice. Then again, the Facebook people dragged their feet developing an Android app before they finally released their own so them dragging their feet here doesn't surprise me.
They drag their feet with the Facebook Android app while constantly screwing around with the layout of the site confusing users who are already still coming to grips with the last layout change. That and just their way of doing things in general would have had me delete my account long ago if it weren't for that site being my only means of contacting certain people.

Google Locked Me Out of the Market!

Today, around 5:00pm CST, I found that I could no longer update or find many of my installed apps. This has happened several times in the past, usually after installing a new custom ROM. I am currently on Simple Streak 1.2 with PerfUpdate.
I tried all of the "tricks" I know to get it to work. Cleared the cache and data in the Market app. I use v2.3.6 of the Market, so I installed the latest v3.4.4. All installed apps showed up but nearly all of the PAID apps said "not compatible". I also changed the fingerprint in build.prop. NOTHING WORKED!
I called Google Market Help tonight and after 20 minutes of clearing data and cache in Market app, Un-mounting and re-mounting sd card, and explaining to the tech that I have never been able to send apps from the Market to my Streak when logged into the Market on my PC, the tech put me on hold for 2-3 minutes. When he returned, he asked if my device was rooted and if it had a non-stock ROM. I answered yes to both. He then told me that Google has locked me out of my PAID apps because I have violated the Market policy by rooting and modifying the ROM in my device. He went on to say that "ROM developers put malicious code in their ROMs" and for that reason I was locked out of my PAID apps. He told me that I would be able to access my paid apps if I re-install the stock ROM and do not re-root the device.
I pointed out that there are numerous apps sold in the Market that are specifically for rooted devices or for rooting devices. He said this is true as Google does not limit the content of the apps. Only the access to the Market following purchase of those apps. I told him if I wanted a locked down device that I would have purchased an iPhone.
I have not changed my ROM since the day Simple Streak v1.2 was released. He said they finally caught up with me today. I guess I am a Rooted Android Criminal!!!
Since speaking with him, I have discovered many of my purchased apps are "no longer compatible or not found" as are a few of the free apps, primarily any free app dealing with rooting the device such as Root Explorer, Lookout Security, and Handcent SMS. Paid apps include Kaiten Mail, 3g Watchdog Pro, Visual Voicemail Plus.
I tried restoring a Nandroid backup from yesterday before the problem started but it didn't help.
I'm wondering if I just install the DSC Gingerbread Rom instead of the "Original Stock ROM", would the Market work? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I also asked if installing apps from Amazon would cause this problem. He said "it shouldn't." He didn't say "NO." Could this be Google tightening up things to increase Market sales and shut out Amazon? Just speculating.
I am also curious if anyone else is having this difficulty. Either with a Streak 5 or any other Android device. Seems Big Bother is Watching!!!

OMG.
Looks like new piracy wave is coming soon with such policy changes.
Time to reread Market agreement.

2.1 and 2.2 clearly states they can do it.

I don't dispute that. The problem seems to be that they ARE doing that. I wonder what % of Android devices are rooted and what % have a custom ROM?
If I can't use the Market, I will have to get the updates and new apps somewhere else. The developers are the ones that will take the financial hit for this policy. That's too bad. The weird part is that I am locked out of my PAID apps, not very many of the free ones. That doesn't make any sense. I'm being punished for supporting the developers?!!!
kraz
If I remember correctly LA for devs states that Google can freely remove/limit access for published apps.
--
Have you only one Android device to check whether device or full account is locked?
--
Anyway, i'd feel absolutely clean using pirated, but previously paid for apps.
But just to get more paranoid - more and more people use Google services. For business too. Time to rethink "let's move it to cloud" strategy and move data you really need access everytime and everywhere to own file/mail solutions?
According to the tech, my device is locked out until I re-install the "Original Stock ROM from the Manufacturer". He said I would then get full access again and I will be able to update the ROM to "any newer Stock ROMs released by the original manufacturer."
Personally, I'm not convinced it isn't because of the few Amazon apps I have installed.

Would changing the fingerprint in build prop to something new, open the Market? If so, would you PM me the fingerprint line from the DSC ROM? Thank you!
kraz
It would be a major pain, but you could make a nandroid backup of your current setup, then install a stock rom (preferably 407, since you wouldn't need to change baseband), set it up minimally (basically just go through the initial setup with your google account), and make a nandroid of it. Verify that market works in the stock rom, then switch via nandroid restore. My guess would be that Google is only randomly spot checking and you could go possibly months before being "kicked" again. When that happens, make another nandroid backup (to be current), then restore the stock nandroid backup, check the market, and restore back. The downside is about 20 minutes of your time each time you get kicked. I searched the internet for similar cases to yours and thankfully couldn't find much. Almost all results were related to renting movies and had nothing to do with apps.
I'm running DSC and here is the fingerprint:
ro.build.fingerprint=google/sojua/crespo:2.3.6/GRK39C/178324:user/release-keys
I was trying to figure out why would google care what rom we have installed, rooted or not. I guess they don't like that we can remove advertising on the free software. diane
Thanks to _n0p_ and lordmorphous for the DSC fingerprint.
Unfortunately, it didn't work. However, more of my paid apps are accessible today. I have no idea why that would change. The remaining apps that I have already paid for will have to get updated through a black market site. I have already paid for them so I don't feel guilty about updating that way. Also, I have contacted several of the devs and they are willing to send me the updates directly as I have helped them beta test in the past.
Thanks to all for your suggestions and help!

The same thing happened to me... then i switched to power_rom evergreen and things was back to normal...

On topic, what Google are doing is shocking. I have not rooted since adb does all I want to do, but I think that locking people out of their paid apps is a horrible move.
Are you running any custom DPI? I am guessing that may more to do with this.

Yes, for the past 14 months! But that has nothing to do with this problem. As I said in my OP, Google Market Help tech said in a phone conversation that I have been locked out of my paid apps because my device is rooted and has a custom ROM. The Market worked perfectly until 5pm yesterday. Nothing on my device changed to create this problem. The tech said Google wants to tighten things up as they are convinced that rooted and custom ROM'd devices are the source of the viruses in the Market. He said, "Developers of custom ROMs intentionally put malicious code in their ROMs."
This problem isn't the same problem we had when we were first using DJ Steve's ROMs in 2010. That was due to fingerprint and screen density issues.

I found a fix!!!
This app LCD Density Modder Pro (must be the PRO version) $2.99 in The Market fixed my problem, and that of every poster so far in that thread found here:

Well worth the money!!! TAKE THAT GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran into the "app not compatible" issue after playing around with build.prop and some wifi settings. I did some searching and it appears all you usually need to do is clear the data and cache of "Google Services Framework".
Go to settings)applications)manage applications)all)google services framework,
clear both,
go back to market and give it a few seconds to a minute to populate your apps and try to update.

If that worked, do you have a non-standard dpi?
If you did then it's (likely) simply a combination of:
1) Service rep spouting FUD
2) The way the market works now
The pro version (seems) to only include a link to a modified version of the market with dpi checking dummied out.
My preferred dpi is 200. HOWEVER, I changed my dpi with Blade Buddy to standard 160 and it still didn't work. Using LCD Density Modder with 160 made ALL my installed apps visible AND, more importantly, compatible to upgrade to my Streak. My Streak remains at 200dpi when I leave the Market and return to Home Screen and other apps.
Trust me, this is no placebo! It really works. Some of my apps have been unable to upgrade to the next release since I first used DJ Steves StreakDroid 1.46 custom Froyo 12/2010!!!
As for service rep spouting FUD....I prefer to call it spouting BS!

Saw that and did that. All it did was make EVERY one of my free apps disappear from the My Apps Market list. And the paid apps ALL became incompatible. I was better off before I tried this technique.
LCD Density Modder Pro fixed it perfectly in less than 5 minutes from the time I tapped "BUY".

Switching DPIs doesnt make it instantly detected by the market app, if you just do nothing and wait it can take days to be detected.
Clearing the market cache makes it faster, but even that isnt always instant.

[Info] Google API

Posting this in the forums I haunt. I discovered this threw another issue im dealing with. Really this effects multiple industries as I found out.
This is more for any developer but trying to get the message out.
Google is killing several API services. First one was the Weather API. That one killed any app or query built in a rom sniffing google for weather updates. Anyone that has noticed there weather app suddelny stop working is suffering from this issue. Most Devs have allready updated there API address but if you havent please edit in your next revision. Keep in mind this is only one of many APIs that will be cut off soon. So pull your resorces elsewhere if you can. Sadly that stuff is privately owned and not public so its there right to do so. For whatever reason they are doing this very quietly and without warning. Not sure why but its a problem that will get out of hand quickly if noone knows about it.
Thanks.

Google App Keeps Crashing-FIX

hey guys
i have a 5t rooted and today i was checking some apps and after sometime i found out that google app keeps crashing
Google app never opens . I was ON BETA program so i thought it might be due to that . SO i rolled back to stable but still the app crashes
when i checked all i did was made a parallel account for Whatsapp.
So , when i checked for solutions i found out that its the culprit.
so heres a fix i found out somewhere , and it works on Oneplus 5t confirmed by me .
1. connect yor phone to the pc with USB debugging on
2.Start ADB in your PC
type adb shell pm list users
Now remove the Parallel App user from your device:
type adb shell pm remove-user 999
This hot-fix will remove all your parallel apps and its data so be careful!.....
YOU HAVE TO SWITCH ON THE ASSISTANT AGAIN to get it working on command .
ALL THANKS TO paritosh9199.:good:
If you want the parallel apps and Google to work together ,I suggest you uninstall all the updates of Google app .
It will work fine with parallel apps and wait for Google to release the update !
Will it work for non-rooted users also? Any other way to fix it as I don't want to remove the parallel apps?
Why is this issue happening only in oneplus phones? I have sent the devs logs 2 times but no action has been taken. Never ever a op phone again.
Can you please confirm if Bing is showing news feed in your phone or not?

Bing is working well for me
I don't know if this works on non rooted . Why don't you try it and tell me !
I have no idea why this is happening on OnePlus phones .
What I told you is a hot fix , more over our phone is outdated. Devs don't care about us anymore . Yah I know Q . But that will be the end of it ! If you want you can wait for the Google to fix it ...
Otherwise , uninstall all the updates of Google app . It will go back to the old version and it will work fine with parallel apps .
That will be the best choice for you until the Google releases the fix !
Weird , its not working for Bing here too. Have tried in different 5t's.
Even if I buy a new op, expect regular updates for 6 months only. Then a new phone or the T version will release and this cycle will continue. They took 2 months to fix the last bug. This is the only os which always has weird and tons of bugs.
Uninstalling updates didn't help.
Google has nothing to do with it, issue is with op.
