J1 with Exynos 3475 working ROM with FM radio - Samsung Galaxy J1 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone.
I need help finding an AOSP rom for Exynos 3475 J1 variant (I found that some models have this chipset, but I can't find which one) with FM radio working.
If there is nothing like that, ideas and code too will help me because I'm trying to develope a working kernel with FM radio support.
Thank you

port miui 9500 to 9505 - need some advice

Hello,
I would like to port the i9500 miui v5 rom for i9505 ( dev seemed to be stopped for that rom/device, but ?I am not sure...)
even if I am developer, I don't know, today, how to fully configure my linux and how to build a complete rom.
so, I was thinking by starting to port something working, done for a device not so far like the i9500.
- do you think it is possible ? or there si too many difference hidden, between the 2 device ?
- if yes, is it "just" changing things like :
kernel, low level to communicate with radio ( i thing that i9500 don't have LTE or 4G), and ???
from an external view, except radio and processor all the other hardware item should be the same, no ?
thanks for any advice, or help.
Olivier
the base rom of MIUI V5 for i9500 is a stock rom while the i9505 MIUI port is based on CM i think so its indeed a BIG difference
thank for your feedback.
I don't have the same info. let me explain what I was understanding with reading in various forum :
I was thinking that:
miui rom is a fork of CM, with new launcher, some special apps, and some special parameter / mods. etc.
done by xiaomi to have a special package with its phone MI-2, MI-3 etc.
and I was thinking that miui i9500 rom was official rom, because it is done by a team member of miui dev,
instead of miui i9505 which is a port because done by a not officla dev, nor a dev of the miui team.
note : i9505 is not sold in China so the official dev team can have access easily only to i9500.
in this case, we have to do port for i9505, it will be never official rom.
so, conclusion :
are you sure that the i9500 is a rom which is not based on CM ?
in this case, you are right, I will have difficulties to do a port
thanks

SPH-L720 Galaxy S4 Rom Rival Storm V.2.1

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and have very little experience with ROM's, please help while you can.
I have been testing and trying many ROM for my Galaxy S4 PH-L720, a few of them I think are great and others were just not what I expected. but I have installed this ROM which I love, I think it is the most close to perfect ROM out there at least that I know of. This ROM is called
(ROM][XXUGNF1][4.4.2] S5 RivalStorm V2.1 [SLIM][S5 Apps/Features) Everything works flawlessly chi I have not been able to accomplish with any other ROM. the only disadvantage is the the Model Number is GT-I9505 and it is only CDMA enable, I would love to use this on any carrier in the US (Sprint, Verizon, Tmobile).
Question:
Is it possible to install extra Modules or a different Kernel to have this ROM also be GSM, LTE, eVDO?
Are there any ROM like this one that support these features?
I have come across a few but they are all international.
Why are the developers not creating something like this for US carrier based phones (Galaxy S4,S5)?
Thanks in advance to all.

does it matter getting models other than D802?!

hey guys does it matter getting other versions of this device ?! D800,LS/VS980 or others ?!
i don't know much about bootloaders here and if they are locked like samsung !!
will i have any problems with installing custom roms or kernels ?!
thank you in advance
have a good day
There is no difference in CPU, RAM, camera module, display and GPU but there are differences in network support, wi-fi chip attributes etc. Some models do not have FM Radio chip. I think that Verison model also looks different (buttons and camera) and there is korean model that has a removable back and SD card slot with terrestrial TV antenna.
Now, there are unified ROMs and kernels that are universal and support all variants (models) but each variant has variant specific ROMs and kernels. Bigger and more popular ROMs are for most of variants, like CM 12.1 based ROMs and AOSP ROMs (Ressurection remix, Bliss Pop) and there are popullar Cloudy ROMs that also work on most variants as well as MIUI ROM. So there is no worries that you wont ger X rom with Y variant but if you are really picky there are some variant exclusive ROMs that cant be installed on some other variants.
Your best bet would be a D802. It is the international version and you shouldn't have any problems.
Thank you @5ageman and @Orcam
well guys it's at&t D800 model i wasn't exactly sure before asking here
strange thing i heared that D800 has noise cancellation near camera as a difference from D802 model which sadness me for the back covers when trying to get one, idk why they made that stupid difference !!
i got me a d800 no big deal for me the roms i want are there for my device..just make sure the cover has the hole for att phone..

Question About s5 Variants

Hi
i want to buy a galaxy s5 and in my country i found the two variants the 900H octacore and the 900F Qualcomm version
i dont use 4G and i know that there is a lot of comparisons out there but i want to compare them from an xda enthusiast view . i mean which version has the best support and the best roms and mods , and which one gets the cyanogenmod builds first , also which one has miui rom

Cyanogene and S5 : Too many different S5 versions. Which are compatible?

Hello,
I just broke my G900F and would like to replace it. I want a new S5 with cyanogene on it and I want it to be compatible with my other G900F Battery.
I looked at the most recent S5 versions but I am not sure if cyanogene will works on them. The cyanogene website is not really clear about this info.
Do you guys know?
Do you know if the S5 Plus (newer processor) will be ok with the "stock" cyanogene?
And what about the G906S and G906?
Thanks for your help
Official CM works only with Snapdragon 801 G900* variants (of course except H).
yep, most Cyanogenmod ROMs will work on most US S5 variants. If youre looking for opinions, Resurrection Remix is hard to go wrong with, but if you want to play the field, just look for KLTESPR builds
