Anyone able to activate Viper4Andriod with Oreo? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Currently I use Renovate Oreo 2.5.
I've try the install and use V4A, without success.
My precedere was this:
Install Busybox
Rename the audio_effects.conf
Install SELinux Switcher 6.0.3, but flash via TWRP, to install the apk dont work (pharsing error) and switch to permissive
Install iPER4Android_FX_v2505_A7.x_Nougat_IO_test_fix.apk
reboot, driver install, reboot...
But the V4A status is "abnormal"
But besides this way (or very similar - v4a falsh via TWRP) never works for me with nougat, also with me previous LG G4. The only way for me to get a working V4A with nougat is to flash tje AryaMod, which obviously currently dont work with oreo.
Have anyone a working solution?

I also tried everything I could find, no luck.
Returned to 7.1.1 which seems so slow after Oreo.

Viper4Android > Settings > Turn On Developer Mode > Disable SELinux
Does that work? If I remember right, that was what I had to do on another Oreo phone...(yes I had used SeLinux Switcher already).

No, but I'll try it.
Just flash? Or must I something adjust, audio_effects.conf etc.?

Just flash from recovery. Think it should overwrite everything. Let me know if it works. v4a is the only reason I have not tried to flash Oreo beta ?

The BiohazardMod also dont work.
Back to Nougat.
For me the same without V4A is Oreo uninteresting.

FYI: Viper4Android DOES WORK

You just need to use the "Sony Beats Edition 5.5" to make it work. This version is a flashable zip and has the driver prepackaged.
It can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/themes-apps/viper4android-t2952137
And here is the direct download link:

Are you getting headset and speaker processing as well? I've flashed stock and rooted fresh then installed BusyBox and flashed the 5.5 Beats zip 3 or 4 times now and it outright refuses to process anything besides Bluetooth. I'm also on the H830 and I'm at my wits end as to why everyone else is able to get this working besides me.

Yes, all aspects of this are working fine for me. Bluetooth, Headset, and Phone Speaker... All functioning as they should... I doubt this will make any difference, but grab the zip I saved (and used) on my phone, from the Toy Box... It's in the "Apps (Root)" folder.

If this method wont work,I have another.
1. Just flash clean System partition to get rid of v4a sony.
2. Download v4a apk and install.
3. Install driver if needed.
4. Install Busybox.
5. Install Selinuxchanger and change it to permissive.
6. You are ready to use Viper4Android on the G5

No luck. Wiped and flashed stock tot, flashed TWRP tot, formatted to remove encryption, wiped again just in case, formatted a second time, wiped again just to be sure, formatted a third time, flashed SuperSU, flashed dmverity, flashed V4A, granted storage permission for V4A, installed Busybox, opened the app, driver is normal and audio is supported, but it's not processing headset or speaker. Bluetooth is fine. SELinuxmodechanger is still being granted root access but refusing to acknowledge it.
Am I missing a step installing SuperSU? Should I forego the dmverity zip? Should I install Busybox to a different location? I've tried installing to su/xbin and system/xbin. Does the stock H830 kernel support permissive? How would I go about changing it? Kernel Adiutor has a plugin to change to permissive but it doesn't stick. It takes the su shell command to change it, but I can't confirm it in the phone settings.

Why are you using a permission changer? And why are you installing the stock TOT before the root TOT?
Here's what I did:
Rooted device (did not use stock TOT, went straight to the rooted TOT)
Reboot Recovery
Flash DM Verify
Flash SuperSU
Reboot System
Reboot Recovery
Make Backup
Flash Xposed
Install BusyBox
Flash V4A
Reboot System... All worked fine... To be fair, I did not mention I had BusyBox installed above... That "might" be the determining factor here? I'm currently making a backup of just my system partition... If you want to try it, I will upload it for you later tonight after I am done with work. It's 3.9Gigs. - If you decide to, make sure you have a backup of your own first. I am not liable for broken stuffs.

Because I'm grasping at straws.
I followed the your order, I'm still just getting bluetooth processing. I'm willing to try out your system partition, I figure there's not much left to lose at this point. If that doesn't work, I'll concede defeat and wait until the B&O module makes its way over.

Guys I have installed the dolby atmos version and ran a fix, it works on everything (speaker, headset, spotify..). But still not perfect, I believe an app is interferring with v4a, almost every time I need to do a phone restart before I start playing music, but then it works for hours...

ViPER4ANDROID not working properly on MOTO G4 PLUS.

I have rooted the device, and currently using Nougat RR ROM. But ViperDD is not working properly on device. Busybox also installed, the driver status shows Abnormal. Any Solution for it.
Uninstall Viper driver, reboot and then go to /system/vendor/etc and rename audio_effects.conf as audio_effects.conf.bak, go back to Viper app and try to install the driver or just check the driver status, should work with that

I would also check that your kernel is set to permissive, not enforcing. Heard that causes problems as well.
Also, you might like to install SuperSU from XDA rather than using the inbuilt CM root, as it appears to resolve the Abnormal error you're seeing. (credit: https://plus.google.com/communities/104675617308252943432)
The stable SuperSU is herehttps://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703. I've installed the TWRP version of SuperSU on my XT1642 Plus on RR 5.8.0 24/01/2017 build (after making a backup in TWRP) and flashed Viper4Arise (i think it's based on Viper4Android), which works well

Viper4Android for Moto G5 Plus

I tried installing the viper4Android on moto G5 Plus India variant and installed the driver.
I have already installed busybox and rooted with su.
But the viper4Android is not processing the audio when played through poweramp player. Also I have made the required audio settings in poweramp.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
Which su you flashed?

Well, I flashed superSU after uninstalling magisk, the V4A app that I flashed earlier still worked fine. So, I didn't bother to check if it worked on a clean install.
same problem at me. i've tried any version of v4a but nothing work. Suggestions?
I have same problem with SuperSU 2.79. always have to exit viper then restart to begin processing. Makes no difference with which Music player i use it always stops processing. Didnt have this problem on aexop ROM though. I also tried using magisk but had same result with failure to keep processing enabled.

I don't know, maybe. I am using Magisk v13 + Busybox by osm0sis (magisk module) + Viper4Android FX (magisk module) + Viper4Android v2.5.0.5 (flashable zip).
I also have FX Compatible Mode set to Compatible in Viper settings and Music FX disabled. My current ROM is Pure Nexus.

Have you tried using a different music app like the Google one. Always found it a struggle with power amp.
Most of the magisk modules will fail on the moto g5 plus. You need to flash a custom kernel in order for the modules to work, including magisk hide.

Disregard the posts from a long time ago and install this (see screenshot) from the Downloads section of Magisk (for me it appears in Modules because it's installed), it's very easy and works perfectly.

Yes, you must have something conflicting, possibly from already trying other versions but hard to tell what. I've been using either that or the one by ShadySquirrel (also in Magisk/Downloads) for several months on dozens of installs of the popular nougat & oreo ROMs with zero issues.
Try a fresh install after full wipe (dalvik/system/data/cache) - install only ROM + gapps (no custom kernels until after Viper is working) - boot once to system/desktop to make sure all is ok but don't install anything yet from playstore/SD/etc - install Magisk in TWRP, reboot system - open Magisk, do any requested updates, check safetynet fully passes (if not install safetynet fix or will get errors trying to install from Downloads) - find Viper in Downloads, choose to install (not download), when finished choose reboot - open/configure Viper, check on something very basic like default music player, should be working - keep checking as you install apps/kernels/etc so that in case something conflicts you'll know what.

ViperFx

Did somebody manage to properly run ViperFX? I found a thread over at en.miui.com, with a flashable zip but no instructions. On my old smartphone I had to remove AudioFX and cmaudio befor flashing ViperFX, and also set selinux to permissive. I tried the same with my redmi but it didn't work. Also setting selinux to permissive causes problems with my password recognition, oddly.
Also there is a thread at 4pda with an attachment, which however I cant donwload or which is removed.
So, anybody got ViperFX running and can give a propper instruction, would be very welcome!
I use ViperFX as Magisk Module, it works fine with LOS13 by jacoghi 05.06 ROM build, just flash it after you've flash Magisk v12. It works good as well with xiaomi.eu(as i've used it on xiaomi.eu 8.1.3.0 ROM build before). And yes, i think you have to set SELinux to Permissive for it to work properly. You can download it from this link.

I put a simple script to set selinux to permissive in tasker at device boot, and everything work´s OK.
No problem here with password or anything else.

I have tried the magisk module and it is not working properly. It freezes up trying to install the driver and then it does not show that it is processing. Once I restart the device it tells me I need to install the driver again which freezes up and then does not work. I have installed it about five times now with no luck. It really really needs to be updated

Hi, on my previous device, I experienced this and, either upgraded the apk, or downgraded the apk by uninstalling (magisk apk), reinstalling older version, & reboot. You can find all the released apks on APKMirror. I'm personally using the EXOS magisk ROM, which has options for viper and Dolby Atmos(w/ EQ), with the module Audio Modification Library.
Just flash the 2.7.1.6 zip on magisk manager, reboot , open viper, install the drivers , reboot , done..

Is yours working ok via the EXOS rom? I also have that installed but Viper won't process unless I have "Attach audio effects" toggled on in settings. On other phones, I've had to toggle this on and off right after and it would work, but with current setup, I have to leave it on for it to work. That may be causing problems with it not processing using youtube for me.
Do you have installed audio modification library?
