question about different models - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hello I'm interested in buying the LG v20 but I want the bang and Olufsen certified one, that comes with the earphones, from what I've seen in amazon it seems that the one that comes with them is the H990ds, can some of you explain to me the difference between the different models? Or which one should I get, the other one that they offer is the h910a but I've heard it comes with a lot of at&t crap, and without de b&o logo on the back

Im not 100% positive about this but The v20 comes with a DAC built in and im assuming the bang and olufsen are just the headphones that come with that particular one. All of the v20's produce amazing sound.
Hope this helps if no one else gives you an answere.

I might get a LG V20 as well. Found the H990DS from Newegg.ca, pics are showing the B&O logo, but I e-mailed the store and they told me that it doesn't come with the B&O earbuds... So don't let pics fool you...

Suspicious outrageously cheap LG G2 seller, legit?

As the title suggests,
Came across a company called cell-plaza on ebay who are based in Hong Kong selling lots of high end phones, all brand new, for what seems to be very cheap prices.
Details:
Description: NEW LG G2 D801 4G LTE Quad-Core 32GB 13MP Android Mobile Phone- Black (Unlocked)
Price: £141.00
Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281435055233?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Has anyone had any experience with this company, or can you spot anything suspicious about them?
I've already made the purchase, hoping for the best.
I've been stung by clones & knock off's before, but I've never seen an LG G2 clone before.
Thanks.
If you read the negative feedbacks on ebay you foud that probably they sent you a refurbished phone and probably without warranty. But the price made the deal..

Hope it works out for you, man. The negative feedback is a bit discouraging, especially the one that says something about changing feedback in order to get refund!
But let us know how it works out for you. I'm thinking at worst (based on feedback) you have a 4 in 5 chance of getting a working phone.
Did it arrive?
Hi, did you receive this phone OK? I'm contemplating buying one myself.
Thanks
alot of negative feedback thats not good... before you flash anything search for refurbished thread and make sure oyu know wich model variant you get by looking on the motherboard otherways youll brick your phone if you wish to flash new rom even root i think..
that is the normal price of a SECOND hand G2 in my country.
gunna be selling my vs980 for 150 on ebay =D

Well, now that I have received my G2 from them, I can share some of my experience. I live in USA and good ATT LTE performance is crucial to me. The company sold the ATT D800 version on ebay as new for about $165 bucks, which I think is a fair price for a previous generation fragship phone sold by a shoddy HK company considering that $200 buys me a brand new ASUS Zenfone 2 or Zenfone 2 Laser here in USA with full warranty and all.
The phone arrived two weeks later in the original cardboard packaging sealed in plastic. The phone case looked brand new, no scratches or any signs of use or abuse. I removed the back cover and looked inside. Inside was the original LG battery produced in 2013 and D800 printed on the case. The printed IMEI number matches what is reported by the software, and corresponds to the ATT D800 model. The phone works fine and has already installed two OTA updates, upgrading KitKat 4.4.2 to Lollipop.
Next, I installed the LTE discovery app to snoop around on which LTE bands my G2 is using. Depending on my location in the neighborhood, the bands were switching between Band 2 and the all-crucial Band 17, which confirms I indeed got the D800 for the ATT LTE network. Finally, I have run Geekbench 3 benchmark app repeatedly and the consistent scores of 900+ and 2500+ (single-core and multi-core) are in line with the benchmarks published in many online reviews of G2.
HOWEVER, the printed manual inside the box, talks about LG-P920 which corresponds to an entirely different LG phone, which does point to some kind of shoddy vendor activity.
Either way, I feel pretty happy having purchased an LG2 that looks like new and works like new for just $165 bucks. For me it's a stopgap phone until the Snapdragon 820 devices arrive. The only thing that disappoints me is having just 32GB of storage. I have a music collection that takes up something like 200GB in lossless format, and even converted to a high bit rate MP3, 32GB is just barely not enough. I wish there was an SD card slot. In retorspect, the SD801-based 64GB Oneplus One that's now sold for only $300 USD may have been a better choice. Also, the LG GUI is ok, but not as nice as the Cyanogen OS on a Oneplus One phone. The LG GUI looks ok, it is something like made by geeks, for other geeks. The poor wallpaper collection and the lack of themes is appalling, but fixable. The phone looks like a keeper to me. I look forward to testing the camera performance and trying Cyanogenmod.
Get yourself a tiny Micro sd card reader by Meenova for 10.00 and a 128GB Samsung Micro SDXC Card (can be found under 40 this week due to cyber Monday Week deals if you google slickdeals.net) and you'll be more than set!
I'm using the Samsung 64GB Pro Micro SDXC Card and its amazing.

Thank you so much for posting this and for following up with your findings.
I have a G3 on order from the same seller and started to worry after reading their negative feedback (also AFTER buying - which I would not normally do!).
I'll also post on here once I receive the LG G3 32gb to confirm that the phone received is the official LG Model or a replica, new or used and whether the phone is working as it should.
Thanks for the SD card suggestion too, I will have a look.
I was just looking at a G3 from them this morning. I'll be curious to hear about your experience.

The G2 is pretty old now despite the capabilities from it. I feel like the price they are selling it for is reasonable
I just purchased a vs980 from eBay for 89.99 and it is in perfect condition. It is refurbished but works like brand new

I got the G3 it is legit LG tested everything and its legit. A couple of things though.
Branded T-Mobile who have been EE for nearly 2 years?
Get alerts from T-Mobile saying 156mb update is ready but it just reboots and stays on 4.4.2.
It keeps on turning off and will come on again once I remove and re-insert the battery.
Currently debating whether to send it back for a refund or root to see if it fixes it!

theres a kdz file for marshmallow to update phone. maybe give that a try..do a search
Don't buy from them, they state 12 month warranty but after 3 months the screen died and they won't honor their warranty.

Lg g3 to One+ 3?

Basically i loved the g3 when ot lasted. Lately ive been getting hissing from the audio jacks and random reboots (ive replaced both the audio jack and the battery, neither helped).
Long story short want a new phone.
Looking at the The One+3, HOWEVER it does not ship to norway. I can buy it via retailers in sweden or denmark and have it shiped to me. But if i were to do so i would have to add and extra 25% due to tax. Making the phone cost me 585$ instead of 399. And thats whitout a carrier.
Right now i dont see any other alternative since the s7 is 880$ without a carrier and the Htc 10 is 850$. And to be honest i dont really like neither of them that much. (Not buying the G5 kek)
So.. 585$ One+3 (potentially more to get carrier) Ye or Ne?

Which markets come with B&O Play tuning?

US doesn't.
According to the last paragraph or two of this article http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-v20-audio-capabilities-714807/ the B&O deal was only done by LG's Asia region. So, it's Asia only, at least for now. But in practice how different can the B&O branded version be? I'll bet on not very, and any differences found can easily be duplicated by the developers here on Xda.
But during the live press conference in SF, they said the B&O ear buds would be included with the phone for a limited time. So I guess you might still get those without the B&O Play Tuned software.
Years ago, there was a Samsung phone (Verizon) that had a B&O amp speaker built in. I tested it out, and remember the built in speaker and headphones sounded louder, but not better.
I personally am not a fan of B&O, I think their products are over priced and not that good. I'd rater LG partner with B&W (Bowers and Wilkinson) as I own some of their 804 series speakers and headphones, and would totally blow away B&O.
The B&O official certification came with the launch of the phone in S. Korea because of a partnership with them to sell the headphones with it. The actual hardware in the phone used to process sound will be the same no matter which market you purchase from. Actually, T-Mobile just announced today that anyone purchasing this phone will get a free pair of B&O headphones, redeemable through the LG website, so there you go, it's all about partnerships. Rest assured, it's all the same, whether "B&O approved" or not.

Thinking of buying the LG G6

Hey!
I am thinking of buying the LG G6 here in the UK, and its that or the Samsung S8+.
I'm really struggling which to pick, I like how both phones have the bezels display, but I need some answers from people that on the LG G6. How is the battery, is the display good? Is the 821 snap dragon still fast compared to the 835 that is now out.
I would love some thoughts from owners of the G6

Screen is nice not as deep a colour as the s8 but its still a really nice screen battery is on par with my s8 i had
I never used a the S8, but I owned at least 6 Samsung AMOLED devices over the past 6 years (currently own 2). I was afraid I'd hate the LCD screen on the G6, but I haven't noticed the difference.
Every Apple iphone and ipad ever made is LCD, and I never heard a single complaint about the screen quality.

They are both great devices. I cant justify spending so much for Samsung for their gimmicks.
LG G6 - coming from an iPhone 7 Plus user - is a fantastic device. Performance and battery life has been equal.
Hey guys,
I I'm thinking about getting the g6. My carrier would sell it to me for 300 euros which is a pretty good deal on my opinion.
I'm not a big fan of LGs skin though. I would theme it for the time being. But do you think custom ROMs will be developed (like LOS or an AOSP build)? And how's the update situation on LG phones. Will the g6 get O in a timely matter?
Thanks in advance!

If you want to mod it buy an European H870 (not ds)
For the update lg usually is one of the first oem to release major updates, but it's really slow in releasing security patches, in fact we are still on April patch
LG G6 is the best from LG, good battery life with fast battery charging, perfect camera even better than the Galaxy S8, a very good smartphone.
I have used Galaxy S7 Edge and I compared the S8 with the LG G6, and finally I picked G6, I can honestly say G6 is better than the S8
I'm thinking of getting the G6, but as the bootloader is locked for H870DS there is no development so no LineageOS. Which means the phone is not future proof after LG stop supporting it.

Get the LG H870 single SIM international version, there's development for it such as TWRP, custom kernel, custom ROM as well as root. It's a shame that LG only supports bootloader unlocked on few variants but I think for the H870DS , nope.

If LG were more open I think they'd sell more phones.

LG G6 Australia root

Sorry if this appears lazy. I have searched and searched, but just wanted a definitive up to date answer before i buy.
Australia seems to have 2 models - H870K and H870DS.
Are BOTH still unrootable?
Thanks.

Thanks. It's an insurance claim on a S5. I was tossing up between choice of S7 and G6.
So, S7 it will be then.
Or perhaps I pay the diff for an S8.
If you are after something in this price range, I'm considering selling my G6 to get a HTC U11. Seems to have everything I want. Including better camera, unlockable bootloader and software updates.
I wont be owning another piece of LG hardware again. EVER. No TV, no phone, no tablet. Nor will any of my family or friends
