No,will update to pie. The xiaomi's Engineer said ,mi6 will update gpu driver , support game turbo,and update to android pie at weibo.bad english.

They said it will be in Q1 2019 early last year. Now it's delayed again. With tons of new device line redmi6, redmi 7, poco, mi a2 etc. I doubted we will get any Pie for sagit. Go custom since most Pie rom has already stable.
According to miui.com admin android P for Mi6 is now in internal testing so Q2 is possible.
"9.4.11 was the last Weekly for Mi 6 that's based on Android 8.
Next release will be Android 9, we just don't know whether it'll be next week or after a certain internal testing period." Igor Eisberg dev from xiaomi.eu
Global beta for mi6 is suspended because they are testing android pie. Finally great news but its interesting how things look with widevine drm, camera api 2 and project treble. I think nothing will be change in this aspects.

Due to the comprehensive factors such as device release date, device activity & stability and software experience, MIUI has released the last development version of 9.2.28 on March 1, 2019, which is the last development version of Xiaomi Max and Xiaomi Max Prime. These two devices will no longer support subsequent version upgrades. At the same time, we have also prepared a stable version of the upgrade program, Mi fans can keep the development version or schedule an upgrade to the subsequent MIUI 10.3 stable version (expected to be released in April).
Upgrade devices are not supported in subsequent versions:
March 1, 2019:
Xiaomi Max, Xiaomi Max Prime
Note: You can choose to stay in the last MIUI 10 development version, or go to the system update to schedule an upgrade to MIUI 10.3 stable version.

Would it be possible for someone to add the latest security patch to the last MIUI 9 rom for the Xiaomi Mi 2/S? It runs so smooth on my Mi 2, however I'm afraid to use it since it has a very outdated security patch. Thanx

Yes, mi 9t/redmi k20 get android 11 with miui 12.5.
Official release time not confirmed. For mi 10 and some newer device, end of april confirmed.
A11 but for now with MIUI 12.1 released for Global - miui_DAVINCIGlobal_V12.1.2.0.RFJMIXM_11.0
