Oh no! Not this again!
Dude. Do you even realize how much this screws up your phone? Every person that tries this is destined for a hard reset.
Please make a disclaimer in your post that you have to do a hard reset after you clear framework data.

Yes there should be a disclaimer here. I am not certain but you might be safer clearing the cache first instead of data which may help.

Didn't know this causes a problem [emoji50]

It worked for me also and I didn't have to hard reset it.

I have included it but what exactly goes wrong when the user does this?
My phone has been fine..

See here for possible issues I would just sideload the OTA from the google developers website, its way too easy...

No "find my phone"
No remote wipe
Can't find it on the play store website
Photos not backing up
In-app purchases going haywire
The most important thing: no Google backup.
You have essentially done a hard reset but the other Google services don't know that and they put the phone in a state of unknown.
The only true way to fix it, hard reset.

Got it thanks for the info, I'll look into closing the thread

Don't bother, change the original post to explain the situation and give the link for the right way to do the ota.

Also, erase that clip.

Multiple copies of sms being sent

So my wife has been having these issues with her phone lately. When she sends an sms it will duplicate it sometimes up to 30 messages will be sent when only 1 was intended to be sent. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be the cause? She is using the stock messaging app with stock rooted rom. I believe that super user access is disabled on it too.

Try doing a factory reset and see if that helps

Back up with Google!
Make sure your accout and contacts are backed up to Google before you reset.
So nobody has any idea or experience with the issue?

He probably doesn't want to do a factory reset on his wife's phone. I've done it before and you get *****ed at for days because they can never get it just like they had it before.
You might try backing up her messages and clearing all data on the sms app. See if it fixes it. If it does, restore the old messages and continue to test.
Edit: If that doesn't work, boot into recovery and clear dalvik cache and cache, then re-flash your ROM. That should fix it.
I'm guessing she's running the ROM you released in the dev section way back or a variant of it?
Ordered my Nexus 4 on the 13th. Still waiting.

That's exactly it. Full wipe is pretty much the last possibility before buying her a new phone haha. I'm have to wipe caches and wipe data on the sms app. She hates when anything is changed and I hear about it for a couple of days. She is running the debloated one that I did awhile back.

Not quite yet, the seems sporadic so she's not that worried about it I guess. I read somewhere that it could also be a bad signal issue also.

Extremely high Android System battery usage.. What gives??

This is my first charge cycle but why is Android System higher than my screen, is this normal? Could it be because of the fingerprint scanner? Any help would be appreciated!

Do you have a samsung account? I had this problem too... I've made a factory reset and installed all my apps and definitions just like before (except the samsung account) .... Problem solved

Nope! So damn, I factory reset after I rooted, maybe I need to do another one :/
I noticed that my phone would heat up and the battery would drain quickly... then I found this gem.
Activate developer mode... then go into it and all the way at the bottom you can limit background running apps. So far I haven't had a problem

Factory reset- question

Hey! My Moto X Play is quite weak in terms of battery conditions. I've read somewhere that factory reset could help. I've never performed one, so I do have some questions:
1. Anyone here tried it and experienced that phones battery lasts more?
2. How do I prepare for factory reset? I understand it will erase anything. How to bring back apps, passwords, forum data, SMS etc? Big thx for all your help

After a big update, it's good to reset phone atleast once.
If you don't want to install all apps through Playstore again, make backup of their apk.
Sync everything else
Or better use titanium backup.

Horrible Signal now with Nougat

Since I took the update my signal, especially in home is abysmal.
I am getting nothing..And never had this issue before..
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

Go back to mm.
Mine has been way better. If you just upgraded, even from the beta, then that is most likely the reason. You must do a factory reset for best results after a big upgrade.

I would do a 2nd reset and see how the signal does stock with nothing installed and make sure your apn is correct.

Believe it or not I have had to factory reset twice before. It shouldnt matter but phones are funny some times.

So I just had my wife's Phone, exact same phone next to mine...We both ran speed tests...She got over 50...I got around an 8.
I think something is wrong...I did flash thru Odin..
I came from U firmware...Could that have anything to do with it?
Does anyone have link to full Nougat for Odin...With radios and all.

I upgraded ota from MM. I didn't do a factory reset. Signal isn't better or worst. It's the same. Tmobile here is weird. I can get insane speeds on one side of the street, and next to nothing on the other side. Crazy.

Mine is too. WiFi calling, data calling, and even my bluetooth is horrible. I can hear them but they all say that I am breaking up and this never happened in the past. Also it is in my home where my signal worked flawlessly before.
Nougat seems to have fixed mine. I was having horrible disconnects between towers. That's all fixed now.

'ok google' while charging doesn't work anymore

Hi,
Since the last update, I can't get Google now to work when charging (screen off, aod on). It worked 2 days ago, now it's gone.
Edge notifications is disabled for the Google app
I also tried to reinstall the app with no success
Bixby disabled
Anyone is having trouble with this feature as well?

Good to know that's isn't an isolated case.
I guess that comes from the new 'device maintenance' update

Same here, and working fine when screen is on.
Not yet, I'll do it tomorrow after getting more feedback
I noticed this with Google app beta 7.4 and was hoping that it was just a bug but the final version has this issue too So I guess Google intentionally removed this feature for third party devices. Maybe the want it to be exclusive to Pixel or Nexus devices from now on ! I have a oneplus 3T by the way so I don't think it has anything to do with Samsung updates
