Huawei P9 lite Unable to mount Vendor. - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello,
I've got a Huawei P9 Lite,
I flashed custom ROM on it and it didn't work fine so I booted into TWRP recovery and accidently wiped EVERYTHING.
Now if I try to flash something it says Unable to mount /Vendor , /System and /data.
Can someone please tell me how to fix this.
Full explanation please,
Ocean

This is a TWRP for your version (MarshMallow or Nougat)?
Flash oeminfo for your model phone (VNS...).
Use dload methode to flash a basical version (b160 FULL).
Unlock bootloader again and make a factory reset.

It looks like revolution rom recovery

If you have a MarshMallow rom, use this recovery HERE.

Check filesystem , in TWRP use Wipe > advanced wipe > then select Vendor > Repair or change file system > it must be in ext4 format (on Stock ROM), if not, change it to ext4. Go back and check cust, system, data etc. When everything is okay, you should first try install oeminfo and Stock recovery, then flash full firmware for your phone via dload. Or flash FW from TWRP.

There is no ROM installed, Because I wiped everything.

TWRP cant flash or wipe help plz

Hello Guys
Today I was trying to flash a ROM but the recovery logs says unable to mount storage , I read that the stock rom [Make sure you have a not encrypted device and OEM unlock is enabled in developer settings!!]
It's unlocked but how to decrypt the device !
Twrp can't decrypt the phone, you need to wipe the phone and install some dm-verify patch, its all in the twrp thread.

"Mount and Check "Mount, System as Read-only", this is very important".
What you have quoted is only to complete the installation Flash. Go ahead and uncheck 'Mount System Read-Only' for normal operation and you are ready to go!

You should see that screen and the phone should continue to boot after 5 seconds.
To recap:
1. You stated all was fine in B15 after following the upgrade steps.
2. You made a TWRP backup (system, data & boot) of your new B15
3. When attempting to TWRP restore the B15 backup it could not as system was still mounted "read only"
4. You unchecked "read only" and then did the restore
5. Now system does not boot (hangs on bootloader unlocked warning screen)
If that is correct it sounds as if you have a bad or incomplete B15 backup or you are attempting to restore a B29 backup to a B15 bootstack.

Confusing to me. How are you using phone after a bad restore?
What revision TWRP did you flash? Did you flash SU 2.79 after flashing ROM?
Perhaps someone w/ more knowledge can chime in, but sounds as if you are a candidate to begin again following the steps carefully

Interesting. How long are you waiting on the Bootloader unlocked warning screen?
Next time in TWRP look at the data partition and verify it is formatted as ext4 not f2fs. I might also download a different version of TWRP and reflash the IMG file from within TWRP. I reference @DrakenFX here as he may have the easy solution.

Easy fix, go back to TWRP,
* Wipe Data (if you are in different ROM a or version) - Dalvik- Cache
* Check MOUNT SYSTEM AS READ-ONLY
* Reflash B15 system
Happy reboot
If you Previously were using B15 , you may restore data only, other wise is a no go.

Can't mount Data Partition.

These last days have been catastrophic for me and my p9 Lite.
A thousand and one operations I have done ... I have had to reinstall everything via fastboot ... (cust, recovery, boot, cache, recovery, recovery2, syste m)
And still, I do not get it to boot ... I still have hopes, because being in Revolution Nougat Recovery B.9 (or something like that) shows me the 3 partitions of the P9 Lite. (CUST, EXTERNAL SD and INTERNAL MEMORY) this last, says to be totally empty ... (0 MB) But when I give wipe - internal memory - repair partition, it tells me that there are 16 gs free.
When I want to change the format, to repair it ... it gives me error. Both F2sF and ExT4 ...
I think it may have been deleted in the internal configuration of the cell, the route to the DATA partition. Because I can not repair it in any way ... it always throws me wrong ...
If you like the challenges, here's a big one.
I have googled the possibility of re writing the path to the data partition via fastboot, I only get examples of Google Nexus 7 (which apparently in nexus 7 if it can be done), but none of P9 Lite.
Later I will upload screenshots about the errors that the revolution recovery throw me ... (if anyone is willing to help)
At the moment, I am without an operating system. I have access to huawei recovery, also to revolution recovery and I also have fastboot access.
In the eRecovery, when I try to download the complete package ... it throws me "error in the package", putting the UPDATE.APP of the B371 in the dload folder, the update goes up to 50% and then I throw "error in the package".
I hope they help me and that together we can find a solution to my problem.
From already thank you very much.
I think the only solution is to flash firmware via dc-phoenix

Try to flash stock recovery and do a factory reset, maybe it will work
Otherwise buy dc; phoenix (it costs 15€ i think) and it will write nougat firmware b370
---------- Post added at 01:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:19 AM ----------
If flashing recovery via fastboot isn't working,
Download whatever version of revolution recovery
Extract it, remove file_context , replace recovery.img by the recovery that you have downloaded,
Archive meta-inf and recovery.img
Flash it through recovery
Hope it will works
I am stuck with a similar issue, but Meticulus TWRO 2.8.7.0:
I get Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument) and Unable to open '' to wipe crypto key
I can neither wipe /data, nor format it, nor do anything else with it.
I tried flashing stock ROM and tried factory reset over there: it failed
I went back to stock B160 from CM13, recently.
Somehow I did wipe /system in order to run an update, which did not work.
So I got deeper and deeper into this trouble.
At the moment, there is CM13 without /data und unable to wipe /data in any ways.
I do not have a SD at the moment.
Would it help to put a complete stock onto SD and install it via update mode?
edit:
I could install an old system backup, which did boot and after flashing stock recovery I could factory reset /data
:hurrayy:

Can't create a backup through TWRP.

I tried creating a system backup through TWRP just now for the first time ever. Throughout the process, it gave me multiple messages saying "unable to mount data" and the same for some other folders, and when the backup supposedly finished, it just said failed.
Is there anything I can try without actually wiping either of the partitions? This obviously because I'm trying to create a backup so I can wipe afterwards.

That's the TWRP version that I've got installed.
I just reinstalled both stock firmware and reflashed TWRP but the exact same issue persists. At first I was able to mount data though, I could flash zips such as Magisk etc. But after having set everything up again on my phone, I couldn't mount data anymore.

Maybe I wasn't very clear.
I flash the stock firmware, set that up to enable OEM unlock. Then flash TWRP, wipe /data, flash magisk and other required zips (at this point, data is mounted). I then set that all up however I want, install apps etc.
If I want to create a backup after all that, it doesn't work cause of the unable to mount /data and /storage.

I did flash the no verity zip, does the order in which I flash Magisk, no-verity and RMM state unlock matter?

The instructions I followed to install twrp
Flash twrp (which you have done)
Format data
When finished reboot back into twrp(use twrp reboot menu option)
Flash no-verity zip via twrp ( have to make sure you have it on internal storage or SD card)
Then flash everything else
Not sure if you need RMM state unlock if your bootloader(OEM) is already unlocked in developer options though.

Just as matter of curiosity I use FX file explorer (root) in the menu filesystem it should tell you what format your data partition is mine or ext4. I have read that some people through twrp have changed it to something like ext3 and then back to ext4

(Guide) Who to root phone now that twrp recovery can't decrypt data partition

Twrp usually used for root.!?!ok
You can do by twrp process root now without any problem.
Just you don't wipe cache partition. Repeat don't wipe cache partition and any other partitions.
Remember that twrp can mount system partition and we need to change this partition for root. Ok let's go
1. Flash twrp
2.reboot twrp when asked password you do cancel
3.backup from system and boot partitions (system imge)
4.flash magisk file zip and BusyBox (if you needed) reboot
Done.good luck
