People kept nagging him about stuff that didn't work and what not when the roms were clearly in alpha phase and he even stated what worked and what didn't. He got sick of people being stupid and not reading so he closed them all.

It's pretty sad that people think Qualcomm support is dead because I left. I'm nobody special. I can't believe nobody else has posted any ROMs other than squid2 and one guy just trying to spread around his donation link more trying to make money off other peoples work basically. I'm going to pm a select few of you guys with a link to somewhere we can do this on our own terms. I know you guys all probably think I'm a ****, but I'm really not. I got pissed because I very calmly and nicely responded to someone's comment, they responded back ending with "take a xanax", I took offense and reported them and I ended up with 2 infractions (my first ever) that I didn't quite understand. One was retracted after the fact. But anyway, don't worry I didn't go far.

I don't think you're a ****, I completely understand your frustrations. I had a mod give me an infraction over something completely irrelevant and stupid too on these forums. Literally my first infraction in 8 years.

It's all good man, I was a mod on phandroid and dabled a little here for a fraction of a second i get it.
I'd love to still help you test and do things lol, just got this phone and was like "yay something with ROMs!!! I can tinker!"
Then you went poof (with good reason) and I just said awe man XD just my luck.

I would jump in, but I had to cut my home internet for financial reasons. I have the CDMA version so the current ROMs weren't of use to me yet. I feel kinda useless right now, lol. I might be able to go to an unlimited plan (another $15 a month) instead of my current 10GB. Just setting up my new phone (and wife's) used most of my data. I'll figure something out. Thanks for laying so much groundwork bro.

I hear you. I had to do the same thing being laid off for a while, waiting for a call from my union hall to go back to work. Also why I haven't acquired another E4 for testing, and can't have my phone down so I don't miss a call. If it wasn't for my unlimited plan with boost, I wouldn't be doing much right now. I can build a ROM way faster than I can upload it. Sometimes I go to a near by coffee shop and have a cup or 2 and make use of the free WiFi.

Yeah I get to work like an hour early (air conditioning tech) to use the wifi at our shop for ROM updates on my Nexus 9, lol.

the guy who was selling ITJE's rom actually stepped up and confessed on ITJE's thread, so i doubt that he has returned to his old ways...but whoverver this is deserved to be punished...

It sucks when someone takes your hard work and sells it on Ebay...sucks even more when they claim they made it, and it sucks even more when you get emails from people who bought it on Ebay asking for help with the product they bought off you from Ebay...I got about 50 emails from people who bought a PSP guide i created along time ago. Damn scammers...if i knew people would of paid for it, i might of tried to make some money on the 30+ hours i spent working on that damn guide!!!

The things sprint say to get you off the phone lol

Well I just got off the phone with sprint after asking them about froyo the guy started reading that bs script so half way through the guy reading the script I stopped him and said can you get me some real info please. Ok sir just one moment so after about 2 mins he came back and said froyo is schedule to be released feb 1st. I wouldn't even consider this a rumor or anything that should be believed. I wanted to share how a sprint rep shuts down when the script no longer flys

I think that even with all the (supposed) improvements in Sprint CS, it is absolutely pointless to ask any of them anything speculative or deeply technical. The experts are all right here and on "the googel." Leave the poor sops alone--you need a bill adjustment or credit, call them. You need expertise, come here. ^_^
Yeah if I have I a tech question I don't even call sprint tech anymore I just jump on here. But that script reading is funny ****. Half of the reps have rom read it cause they don't even know what group is.

first level CS not knowing, giving BS, I dont blame em. I always throw out the froyo question if I am calling anyways, just for this amusement... the first level people know less than the sales people at a sprint store. The BEST ones, MAYBE, are the ones who ask their supe, and its not a 2 min hold, its just a few seconds, and they come back and say they dont know, sorry. Now the tech support lady I was transferred to, who obviously had NO tech experience (supposedly second tier) did not know what 2.1 or 2.2 meant, so I said Froyo, then it was like a red flag, oh let me get my supe, I said no, I was more concerned with the replacement Epic I had just waited 5 days for that FC'd everything... system apps, everything. Its like their 'tech support' are there just to annoy you into driving to the sprint store so a tech can look at it in person. ONE guy was cool enough to set me up an appointment, and describe in the job ticket what they were to do, as they said my effed up display was cosmetic when I went in to the 'techs' previously. Anyways, never had to deal with them till I got an Epic... so I dont know if it changed. Dont get me wrong, my screen issue was either defect or a damaged connection cable, otherwise epic is solid.
Now the 'finance' department going to a comission basis, or at least acting like it, is bull****. I got two lines because I had a second job where I had to call in orders to landlines, taking hours at a time (Frontier FIOS), then left the job and had issues with payments on two lines for just myself (nobody told me of seasonal hold on a line) and had to deal with finance. In the past, say 2 years ago and longer, they were AWESOME, they would work out any reasonable deal...but im guessing with the economy, they are pusing them to have all these stupid stipulations, etc. I know its my fault I am behind, I signed a contract, but in the past they were SO willing to do anything to keep my account, it was awesome. Also, anyone get a disconnect lately? No more handy redirect to customer service/finance... now its just a 1970s phone company voice saying you are not authorized to make a call to this number, please try again later... cheaped out on that system too....
BUT, still cheapest carrier, and better CS all around than VZ, any division...

I've worked in call centers for quite a while and it's not the fault of the agents when management defines a script for them and doesn't give them anything else to work with. Understand when you work in a job like that, everything you say is recorded and if you deviate from the script and start throwing your opinion out there you risk your job.
I'm fortunate that now, while I'm still on the phone, I provide tech support to the gov so generally I get a lot more leeway than I did in previous jobs. But there still are pre-written scripts I have to rattle off in certain circumstances, and usually to very important people. Ironically, they almost never give me a hard time because unlike the whiny residential customers at a previous job, these people actually understand that we have procedures and policies to follow for the sake of legality / security / confidentiality / modus operandi.
In short, I'm glad I don't have to talk to people like you anymore!

While the agent shouldn't have made up a date (I'm our team's trainer and that's one of the first things I teach our people, "don't BS, you'll get caught"), if you pressure someone for something they don't have, you get what you deserve.

Hehe well starting a sentence with "Look, Sir" and ending with "I don't have a clue" is a great way to turn a frustrated caller into an irate one.
But yeah, "I wish I could answer that question but we haven't been provided with a release date yet. We've been told that the update is in the works and should be released in the near future. Do you have any other questions I might be able to help with?"
It sounds lame but if you sympathize too much with a caller, they suddenly want to spend 20 minutes telling you their life story (time you generally aren't allowed to spend chit-chatting). If you are too cold and uncaring, they get ticked off. So you're stuck basically with "Yeah I feel for you, but here's what I can do for you / tell you. Do you need anything else?"

Would that have changed your opinion or would it have been another "confirmation that Sprint doesn't know what they're doing"? In looking at the overabundance of posts on Froyo I"m guessing that a post would have developed stating something like " Just called tech support. Asked them about Froyo. Customer service doesn't know what the hell they are doing cuz they couldn't answer my question... I'm switching to Verizon because I'm tired of the lack of support that Sprint/Samsung/America(since international Galaxy devices have froyo) provides." Sound bout right?
Now I understand why so many Devs are starting to jump ship from the site.

Sorry didn't mean to come off as an ass but I can say and truly mean, unless you walk a mile in their shoes... Try dealing with so many people on a daily basis asking the same damn questions. It gets a bit repetative and annoying I'd say pretty much anything to get people to shut up. Especially once they start with the I know more than you tone.

I for one don't really worry about froyo, my phone is stock and I like it the way it is. I think that this fasination with it has gone wayyy overboard.
The way I see it is that we will get it when they release it, until then just enjoy using the best phone on the market

[Q] Samsung epic 4g completely locked out

Ok it might be on here already but.... i dont know how many times or different ways i can vary my words in hopes of a different response.
I have the 'epic' of course galaxyS 4g from sprint. Im completely locked out. I left i at a buddy's house and they got drunk and were playing with it. Worst of all i forgot my password so i'm in a bit of a bind here. I've tried each and every way to get to the bootloader i can think of and it's too the point i just want to break it in a trillion pieces but! i dont want to loose the money i spent on this aledged investment. Help please!!!!

If you don't want to save data, you can reset by 3 finger salute, volume down/camera (while holding those 2 down) now hit the power button, reset to factory...

Just take it into a Sprint store. They will help you. Why haven't you called them yet? Of course they're going to verify that you own it, so if that's an issue, GOOD LUCK.....of course you should turn it in to sprint so they can return it to its owner.

Of course, we do thank you for understanding who the leader of smartphone forums are. And since you stated that you've asked the question several times previously, and only have 2 posts, I assume this isn't your first forum you've visited with such an issue.
I had someone once who couldn't 'remember' "their" laptops boot password, and based on the fact they had to ask, I didn't think for one second about not mentioning that wiping the bios would do it. The story then changed to 'oh I just bought it from a pawn shop', but having dealt with pawn shops before, one would already know that they're not going to take in a machine with even the OS password'd, let alone the BOOT!

Its not that hard to do a factory reset but I was in the same position this guy was in when I first got the phone... my gf locked me out and I had no idea how to get into recovery mode until I saw the sprint rep do it....

Ha, NOT locking your phone makes you end up like this guy! If you have a lock, no matter how talented of a drunk one may be, they're not getting past your 'lock'.
Now an unlocked phone can have one put onto it, as stated by the OP
You might as well just reset the wipe the phone. That is exactly what Sprint will tell you to do. Or try to request your gmail password.

Note 7 to Iphone 7 with Tmobile

this is just a little info i want to pass along that i learned from tmobile today. it's not meant to be an iphone vs. samsung thread.
i talked to a couple different reps today and they all told me the same thing. if you have a note 7 you can exchange it for an iphone 7 next friday. you cant do the pre-order because they would need to get the note 7 from you first before doing the iphone exchange. so you just take your note 7 into a tmobile store next friday and they will reimburse you for everything you paid for with the note 7 and you will even get your jump back. at that time you use the reimbursement to pay for the iphone 7 and use the jump that you just got back.

That's your choice to make but just a small tip. Go to the store at 7:30 am on the release day. The stores here in New Jersey open early but they do not advertise it.

I work midnight shift and get off at 7am so ill swing by but I doubt they will open that early in Ga. Plus their are 3 T-Mobile corporate stores on the same street where I am so I'm sure I'll be able to get one on release day.

Honestly not many people in here would even care about that and to top it off why go to a phone that does less than what you have now. I know I know it blows up but you do know your chances of getting hit by a car are greater than your phone blowing up right now. I bet you still go outside and drive a car or get on a plane, etc..... Thinking about going back to iPhone as well. I shouldn't have to compromise settings just for this phone to work.
As an Android/Samsung Fanboy it's a damb shame to have to go through all this.
The 6s Plus NEVER gave me any problems. Even with 2gb of RAM, it NEVER lagged. Hell, the battery was hard to kill with heavy usage (4hrs of youtube background play, fb, text, browsing XDA, etc).
I'm trying to give Sammy a chance but damn.. hopefully the results of these replacements can change my mind.

I think better comparison would be driving and texting or being distracted by phone in general: the same people panicking about faulty batteries think nothing of using the phone while driving and I'm guilty as well, just glanced at the map to check traffic ahead, same time as the guy in front stand on breaks, I barely stopped without hitting him and I drive a lot with years of experience. Probably more than 500 people die each yr. because of phone distractions. My phone charging station is on marble table in kitchen for years (convenience of multiple outlets at above waste level), accidently right next to smoke detector. Most likely it would be non event for me even if it burned to crisp. I put my life in much bigger danger when I'm cooking, but that's another story. Just placed an order for the jet black and was told it would be shipping in NOV lol, so i don't know what ever comes first new Note 7, V20 or iphone
Considering that the Note 7 is the most expensive phone T Mobile sells, it seems obvious that you would be able to exchange it for ANY other phone they sell.

Doesn't matter. At least 99% of iPhone users put cases on them. I'm not even sure why apple offers different colors...

Thanks for the info, I've been trying to the same, got no help at the store, went through 4 phone reps who refused to do it, and finally one gave in and pre ordered them for us. Wish they would've told us that we can just go get them at the store on Friday. They're saying that the phone is already sold out and that be shipments would come out in October or November

yea your best bet is to go into the store and get one. my local tmobile is opening at 8am and handing out tickets in case there is a line. they dont know how many they will have in stock.
i enjoy the people the bringing nothing to topic but come in to post to complain about others talking about the iphone. you act like someone talked bad about your mom. in the OP i stated this isnt an iphone vs android topic. yet some peoples blind loyalism cant understand that there are people that like both. there probably isnt many people that would care but there are some and this info was for them. there are already some in this very thread that said thanks for the info. i could care less about the chances. it's a recall, as simple as that. and this is definitely the place for the info. this is a tmobile note 7 thread. i'm talking about the tmobile note 7 in an exchange. doesnt get any more relevant than that.

here's a question for you. if it's not useful to you then why did you comment in the first place? doesnt matter if it was 2 people or 100, it was still useful. did my original post some how say something bad about you? did it affect your life in some negative way? i just dont see the reason for your post. you brought nothing to this thread except to complain about me making a post and then say your not bashing. might as well said i'm bashing but not bashing. who cares if it's about the iphone. it's just a phone man. it's not that serious in the grand scheme of life.

yes i made a post because i was passing on some harmless information that might be useful to anyone interested. lol. like i said it's not that serious. i'm not upset, but this community has been getting worse and worse with members attacking or down talking each other over petty stuff. it didnt used to be like that.

Tmobile credit

So I just got off the phone with tmobile today regarding my bill. I had 2 note 7 and returned one during the first recall and tmobile did something that ended up having my account in the negatives saying my bill was -320. Anyway today I called up because I I couldn't pay last month's bill because my account was showing negative and then this month's bill finally posted showing 2 months bill combined.
Long story short, I called saying I wasn't happy with this and they credited 150 off my bill right away. Not sure if this would work for anyone else who had the same situation but worth a try. Something off is better than nothing.

Mine was -700 last month then when it updated now is -400. They assured me my latest Bill due Nov 1 was already paid from the negative balance credit. We will see. There are some accommodation credits and adjustments listed

Guys hey thanks for the support. Was not expecting it. Dreamz said it perfectly, every does seem rather distant but I know things will work out, they have to. To make matters worse I hurt my lower back severely. But like everything in life, whether its the whole fiasco of the Note 7 or something much more serious, life has a way of bouncing back. I tell myself that I am going through some character building time. haha.

Have you thought about wo4king from home? Its not ideal, but if you have a decent PC and decent international, as well as some knowledge of networking. You could get a job at Support.com. They are constantly hiring. The work sucks, but it pays the bills.

I had originally thought of doing Uber or Lyft while I try and fix the whole unemployment benefit mess but I wasn't expecting to hurt my back. I don't know too much about it, I am a computer tech and I was in networking marketing for a while. Never made any real money lol but there is opportunities that's for sure
