Google Home mini Pixel 2 promotion - Google Pixel 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Notified this morning that Google will ship the promotion home mini shortly that I qualified for when I bought my Pixel 2.
Should hear from Verizon soon about the power phone charge unit soon as well. Forgot what they called it.
I got a Google home mini about two wks ago to play with it side by side with the Alexa echo I have had for quite sometime now. Have 3 out those.
I use the echo to control a number of switches throughout the house and a fan in my office. It does that well, but it's search is pretty lame, used Bing.
The home mini has good searching, but is still limited in its ability to control remote devices still.

Google Home Mini promotion arrived
Package arrived from Verizon today containing the Google Home Mini from the Pixel 2 promotion

I already have one, this one will go into another room.

I also got my free home mini from UK Google Store. But I had to pay like 30€ to forward it with a forwarder and with tracking number....so I ended up getting a home mini at a discounted price honestly, anyway...should arrive next Monday to Spain.

Where can I get a good quality 3.5mm adapter for the G1?

I bought a 3.5mm adapter back in November off of ebay. It was cheap, around $3, and its crap. I know that "you get what you pay for" but ive bought cheap adapter before and never had a problem. This problem is the design, it has a elbow/90degree coming out of the G1. This puts stress on the plug and the actual housing has cracked open on the adapter.
Can anyone recommend a good quality adapter?
This is the style that I bought

If you go to the T-Mobile store and start moaning (to the manager preferably) they will give you a free Micro USB Adapter, the type that originally comes in the box with the microphone.
Tried and tested in the UK.
You have to be quick though because apparently they are phasing out the G1s as it has reached the end of it's cycle
Wait, so you are saying it's close to the end for the G1? I don't believe that...
That's the rumor that's flying around. Not so much there will be no more G1, but they're replacing it with something else. A "new" G1, if you will.
Yes, if you guys notice the G1 is now no longer anywhere on T-Mobile's front page. Moreover, the price has dropped and now just seems like "another phone" in the T-Mobile phone lineup as they make way for their SideKick LX's, which in my opinion put some parts of the G1 to shame.

This has been a hell of a past 3 months for Android. Google's partnership teams were busy at work all year to pull off this home run: the Hero, the Droid, and now this ereader -- with 3 different manufacturers and 2 lines of business. Hard to see MS Windows Mobile catching up to the influence of Android -- open source, widgets, app store with momentum, rapid adoption within one year's time.
In one year, MS can barely get a half-step upgrade to an OS that only remained a contender thanks to HTC and XDA devs doing the heavy lifting bringing finger-touch navigation to the obsolete tap-a-tiny-box excuse for an OS MS put forth even after iPhone changed the game.

In Stock at Amazon

Just what the title says.
Just placed my order.
Sold by Amazon for $399, not one of the partner stores.
Yeah I ordered mine last night and if you sign up for their Amazon Visa card, you get an additional $40 off. This includes free shipping and no tax (if you're in one of those places). Price would come to $359.00. It's a steal.. even if the screen comes with some light bleed.
I had to get the 1 day shipping, though lol..

FS - iMate Jasjar $100 OBO

I didn't see an appropriate sub forum, so I thought I'd post in the general category. I heard of a "marketplace" but searching for that it seemed it had been archived. I've actually got two of these for sale, one is, shall we say, custom. This one is all stock.
I've decided to part with my iMate JasJar after all these years. I wanted to keep it, but I haven't touched it in years. As you can imagine, the batteries I have for it are not good, but the device works great. I think I loaded Tomal's ROM 12 on it the last time.
Unit is in very good shape, comes with some accessories and a charger and the original box. I'm pretty sure it's missing a stylus though. Spare battery and charger too.
email, pm or text me about it:

Samsung Smart Watch on the Way, Exec Confirms

Samsung has a smart watch on the way, a company executive recently confirmed. “We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long,” the company’s executive vice president of mobile Lee Young Hee told*Bloomberg. “We are working very hard to get ready for it.” Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy S4 with a bevvy of accessories, including a smart wrist band that can keep track of calories burned, distance traveled and more, but this is an entirely different product.
Screenshots from*Samsung’s alleged smart watch leaked in mid-February, showing off what appeared to be a version of Android and the “Altius” moniker. The shots suggested that users will not only be able to check the time but also check maps, control music, manage their inbox and more.
Apple, too, is allegedly working on an iWatch, and we imagine there’s going to be a race to the market in some form or another. Samsung’s executive didn’t say when the watch will hit the market, although the urgency in hits quotes suggested Samsung’s working to get it to market as soon as possible.
@mods i cant find the section that fits this news so please move to where it should be
