I think there is still no official announcement for the nougat update for moto E3 because of the low end processor. But I think you can flash custom Roms that are made on the base of Android nougat for moto E3. But I recommend not to update to nougat.

Officially, the E3 and E3 Power are not getting any 7.0 / 7.1 update.
If you want 7.0+ then flash a custom rom.
I appreciate other users may not recommend this but I've been running 7.1.2 E3 power roms on my E3 XT1700 for over a month with no issues, nougat is just as stable as Marshmallow and in some instances even more so.
Forget any users telling you E3 power roms don't work on a standard E3, they work fine with no issues, the only difference is your device will be renamed to "E3 Power" in device settings after flashing a custom rom.
