Automatic hide status bar - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
I want to use automatic hide status bar. Im using automatic hide navigation bar like this. How i can do automatic hide status bar and use my rooted s8 full screen

Systemui tuner in play store will do it. Immersive mode. I got it in full. You can also do it as on unrooted devices. I have Xposed with gravity box which suppose to do it but doesn't. This app I found does it on the s8 and nicely. Add seconds to the clock and turn off icons. Check it out. It is by zacharee1, the app.

Here is my home screen. The status bar comes and goes with the nav bar. I hated seeing the status bar.

It is looking very nice. I cant install magisk or xposed. I tried everything and open a post in xda. But i cant use it still. I will change my rom and try to flash magisk or xposed again

[SOFT MOD] GMD softkeys

Hello pals, wanted to share this
Its great for recovering some precious screen space. It works wonders for me
Its called GMD Auto Soft Keys, for me, its the best alternative to all the other soft button mods.
Hope you like it
Link is here
Tried it, horrible option if you like to play games.

How is it horrible when playing games?
Smart Statusbar is one solution. When in a full screen app / game, drag down from top of the screen as if checking a notification. You really only need to do this very slightly, just enough to make the status bar appear, and you will notice the GMD Auto Soft Keys indicator will reappear at the bottom also.
another option is button savior, but i prefer GMD,
GMD can hide the statusbar and the nav bar, without any build prop editing.
gaming is ok for me, just remember where your hotspot is and swipe there, y leave the hotspot in dead center so i can put it small and wouldn't interfere with games.
I also like GMD. It seems to be almost the same as ultimate dynamic nav bar xposed module but for me GMD is better because you can turn off the notification that stops a pull down on status bar going direct to my quick setting.
Here is another mod to free up some screen space.
Hidden but expandable Status Bar
If anyone makes this for Moto G, be sure to post it in 'Themes and Apps.'

I use GMD on other devices and only have praise for it
I purchased GMD last night and it was definitely worth it! My phone looks great now! I also have most apps set to fullscreen mode with Appsetting in Xposed so that hides the status bar. A quick swipe down from the top of the screen will reveal a semi-transparent status bar for a few seconds.
Some images for comparison (1st: Normal, 2nd: Swipe up from bottom, 3rd: Swipe down from top.):
GMD plus Pie Controls for me

"Transcluent" Notification Bar With 5.0 Gapps

I have, for example, Gmail 5.0 running. Looks great - but the notification bar isn't red when Gmail is open (like on my N5) , isn't grey when Drive is open, blue w/ documents, etc.
Is there a way to change that?
I only know this through an xposed module which colors your notification bar.
Would be good to know if you are on stock rom or not and rooted or not.
Stock rom doesn't have this feature. Especially not the nexus 10 which even hasn't got the translucent navigation and notification bar.

Purity + ART enabled
Lollipop has ART enabled by default, so there goes Xposed...

Is it possible to add a navigation bar?

Id like to know if its possible to add a navigation bar, I have root and xposed.
Ive found that if you use goodlock with gravity box it works flawlessly, however will it burn into the screen?
I've tried this too, but I didn't like that the navbar is persistent. I'm used to swiping upwards to get the navbar on my old nexus 6.

How do I get rid of the gray statusbar when power saving mode is enabled ?

The gray status bar is hideous, especially with a black screensaver.
Anyone knows how to turn to normal mode statusbar with root or xposed ?
I will like to have power save mode enabled but without grey status bar on homescreen or in apps.
Hi,
In Android Nougat the bar behaves the same way in Power Saving mode that it does in normal mode. So, upgrade your phone, get a fresh new android version and get rid of the hideous gray bar.
All the best,

Nougat isn't good for my device .
Poor battery life and no Xposed.
So I will wait for an Xposed module to appear.

Maybe try a status bar replacement?
If you use xposed try Flat Style Bar Indicators, not sure if it would work or not as its for adjusting the icons... just a suggestion
or get rid of your status bar completely thats how i use my phone (immerisve mode)

Is there a way to hide the status bar by adb command?

Just like the title says I would like to hide the status bar by adb command. If anyone knows the command for it please post. The one for the 7pro doesn't work.

Figured I'd update this
I found somewhat of a solution. There's an app in the playstore called fullscreen mode tool with keyboard support. It's the only app that enables the immersive status bar where the keyboard won't cut into the input box. The only catch is when bringing up the keyboard the input box does a slight jump. To me this is better than burn in from status bar icons. My 8 pro has had the image retention issue with the status bar and I don't want it to lead to burn in which is why I'm going through all this trouble. Hopefully OnePlus can push an update with burn in protection built into oos cause as far as I know there is none.
Hey there, did you get this to work on a Oneplus 8? I just got one and have been trying a few different methods but my status bar persists.

If you want to prevent burn in by removing the status bar icons then just turn off all the toggles under status bar menu within settings. It's called icon manager.
Wouldn't immersive mode remove the status bar?

Where is it ?
I tried system ui tuner it didn't work surprise surprise. Then I ended up just ( thank God that option is made available stock ) going into settings and turning off each status bar icon , so now there's nothing there.

Immersive is broken on 11 for OP8 series devices. I've done some digging and they do something weird in the systemui and it persists the statusbar.
Nova launcher canhid it on home screenonly.
