I believe the Axon 7 Mini is the sleeper phone of 2017 - ZTE Axon 7 Mini Questions & Answers

Ever since I bought this device about three months ago I've been using it as my daily driver. Although an honor 8 is about to take it's place as tomorrow Saturday, I easily believe this premium built phone with the best speakers you'll find out of pretty much all other phones is worth the $194 I paid for mine alone. Sure the 617 processor isn't flagship level but it's still plenty fast enough. Then you take a look at the 1080p amoled display and the nice 16 megapixel camera and really you get a really upper end mid range phone for less than $200 dollars is amazing. I mean it has the identical build as the flagship Axon 7. Same exact speakers as the Axon 7. I believe people in general along with professional writers all wrote this phone off as to be a very cheap made phone due to it's insane low retail price of $194 and never even giving it a chance. This phone is every bit of a $350 dollar phone if not more. You get so much premium build and specs for such a low price. There is really nothing average about this phone unless you consider the 617 processor to be average. I do wish it came with a 625 processor but actually I've found that it's plenty fast enough with no lagging. Then you have a top notch fingerprint sensor to go along with it. There is zero plastic on the build of this phone. My battery life is really good on mine and I find this phone a pleasure to use daily. I can't think of any other under $200 dollar phone that even comes close to what you get from the Axon 7 Mini. There is just doubt that majority of people saw the rock bottom price and automatically just wrote this phone off to be cheaply made when it's just the opposite in fact. It's been my daily driver for the past three months and I have no complaints. I ordered the Honor 8 which will be delivered tomorrow but that is a better phone and you have to pay for it too as it will be taking the place of my Axon 7 Mini as my daily driver but had I not ordered the Honor 8 I would have still been very happy with this phone like I have been. Do you guys feel the same way about this phone being a sleeper phone that most everyone wrote off to being cheap because of the $194 retail price it has? I'm curious of your thoughts. This is a really good device.

I got mine for 110 EUR - and can't believe what I got for the money! :good:

I bought this phone seven months ago, 200 us dolars. And I recommend not using fast charge, because battery is very hot, and it kills battery's long life. And I off big cluster cpu.

You disable some of the cores?

Yes, big cpu 4 cores(max 1.5GHz) I disabled, and phone still works fine for me.
For this operation I use application "EX kernel manager".
And GPU set to minimum frequency.

I really don't know what are yall talking about. Yes there's a battery drain that's characteristic of 5.0 but easily manageable. I can get 5h SoT without too much hassle, and no dropped calls. But hey, to each their own. [emoji1]

And that's why I don't let myself get carried away by what people say. Positively or negatively, I bought this phone 2 days after it dropped in Taiwan. Yeah saw some issues, mostly coming from and S3 on custom roms and me being a custom Rom maintainer myself. But I saw the potential that this Rom can have and with a few tweaks here and there, runs like a champ.

Read again, I'm saying that me switching from an S3 on custom Rom to Asus stock was a change and saw the issues first hand but nothing that could be fixed with a few tweaks.

Maybe you are a lucky man with a bug-less fone :good:. Apart from battery drain, my fone had broken the power button, sim card 1 slot error, and especially wrong battery calibration which many user experience here :

Really sad that you had a bad experience with the phone. Personally other than the battery drain and self inflicted errors, mine has been totally different.
i came from S3 too..and IMHO is, my ZF2 beats my S3 in all terms, except there's not much user/developer involvement yet..unlike S3, everyday there are new updates or release on custom rom/kernel.. we just have to pray for ASUS to unlock their bootloader.. and currently ZF2 is on android 5.0..altho its buggy, hopefully ASUS brings 5.1.1 update to it..

Alot of mixed reviews ..

One plus one is great too
As someone who owns a gs6 edge and a HTC m9 I have to say the Zenfone is totally worth it. Battery life has been great compared to the other two, performance is fast and fluid, the camera is good, the screen is beautiful. I'm actually considering using the one I got at the launch event as my daily driver. Right now I use the edge as my DD with my m9 as a backup. At 299 you can't go wrong. You get the most bang for your buck. I was very skeptical about the Intel soc performance but so far I have zero complaints about it.
I am absolutely delighted with mine. Was on a very restricted budget (had to buy two, one for me and one for my wife) so only got the 550 but actually glad I did because I'm not fussed about NFC or having a few less sensors, I find the 720p screen an acceptable compromise, and the bang for the buck is phenomenal. Yeah, there are a few flaws or irritations, but nothing major for me. There's a great deal of satisfaction in having got so much for so little

I know the chipset is very very fast ...
But there are people who are getting physically defective devices as well .. May be asus is bad at quality check?
Also dev support is a big question mark on intel sOc.? Because any company will stop the development for its old devices with passage of time ..
So we might not see next versions of android on zf2.
And it is difficult to live with the old stock rom throughout the time you own it ..
The present bugs might be fixed with ota updates... I GUESS :/

This is exactly my case too. The only thing I would add is the support from Asus does come. Everyone uses the phone differently and some bugs annoy more people than others, but for me it was the music playback stuttering when other apps were used, but that was fixed in today's update. Credit to Asus, they are fixing the issues.
One of the people who came from the s3, except I had the locked down Verizon version, so no roms for me.
This phone is 100% better in every way, and I'm absolutely delighted with it --- there's a few little software bugs I've noticed, but I doubt most people would notice them, and then there's the battery drain.
Even with the battery drain, I can't complain one bit about battery life, so I can't wait for 5.1!
I bought one...
I bought one based on several factors but here is one piece of info that most people should know prior to purchasing.
The 4g Ram 2.3Ghz Version is the only one that comes with the 18W charger!!! So the phone does get hot when it is below 60% charge due to the 9 Volt 2 Amp charging. After the phone reaches 60% it steps down the 5V 2A which will allow the phone to cool while still pumping in the juice at a fairly good rate.
The heat is an expected side effect of the massive flow of power into the battery.
My opinion on the subject... Keep the 18W charger in your car/purse/backpack/briefcase, and use a 5v 2A charger for everyday charging. :good:
Heat+Electronics=Bad things especially when it comes to batteries. :crying:

The phone and quickcharging implementation are designed around that... It's well-known that these accelerated charge solutions pump a lot of juice and ramp up the heat.

Zenfone 3 - The worlds first phone with 5/6 GB of ram?

There are several rumors making their rounds where the ram is now being quoted as being 5 or 6 Gb?? can anyone from Asus comment over this?
5-6gb for what  You want your phone to be a supercomputer or something? Planning to play 'Shadow of Mordor' on your phone?
95% (even 99%) people not using upto 4GB. 4GB is more than enough at least for now.
What we really need/want is better battery life and user experience like better camera, better software, better performance, blah blah...
What I want to see Zenfone 3 is 2 (or even 3) days battery life with a 3000mah (or more) battery, 7-10h screen on time. Not 6GB RAM for nothing and 1.5-2h screen on-time.
@ Archmage1809 ... Completely agree on your point...Most of the smartphones who boast on better processors/ram/software sucks in terms of battery.. Lenovo / Gionee are launching phones with 5000mAh...what is the use of a smartphone if it doesnt give better battery backup.
hey now... why should I NOT get to play 'Shadow of Mordor' on my phone given the chance??... just think... you plug your phone with any bigger screen and boom ... every game you ever wanted is right there!!! OTG to connect a mouse and keyboard and you are all set to go ... no need to buy or carry gaming laptops anymore!! ohh the things I could get done if only this comes along! if you can get a replacement of your laptop/tablet/gaming console ...in a neat all in one package ... why the heck not!!
there are other options for better battery life if anyone wants them ... but for 350~400 $ I get an alternative for 1000$ on a minimum..
What is the use of the phone that allows you to play any game you want but in a few hours you have to keep it for charging ?
Yes, No doubt its a great thing that we might get that much amount of ram in some time but without fixing the battery issue which is a necessity that much amount of ram does not make any sense to me.
If they or for that matter any Smartphone manufacturer want to get something right for now that is battery life. If they do and then give us 5/6 gb of ram it would be awesome.
Asus Zenfone 2 4gb model is giving me only 4h screen on time which is not great at all. If you compare it with other phones in the market right now its the worst out of the lot. Battery is the Achilles Heel for this phone.

Agree to this and everyone who says battery is a priority.
@op remember why phones were made. To communicate is the first priority, business application, navigation, news, social media and portable camera. The gaming is just at the end of their priority. Why not buy a device solely made and designed for gaming??? A phone is a phone regardless old tech or smartphone, remember why it was built for in the first place.

Why buy a phone with 4gb when 1gb versions do all that you wrote above... It's a niche market and and should cater to different people.. Let's say they roll out different versions... One with 6gb ram and the other with 6000mah bat.... Everyone is happy..

Fragmentation is why.
We were lucky that Z00A encompassed so many variants, that the same ROM can be used across the board. Z008, ZF 2E, Laser, Selfie, et cetera, weren't so lucky. That group by and large lost out to the developer treats afforded to Z00A.
Bigger battery -> different form factor -> different model.
To say everyone will happy by having more models, is a misunderstanding. The current dumping of models upset a lot of people when they realized they would be left out this time around.
Rather than upping the obvious eyecatchers like RAM that don't really add much to the phone at this point, I'd rather see a Zenfone 2.1 or whatever they want to call it:
Keep the 4GB and the Z3580 (or go Z3590 if they must)
Do something (anything) to improve battery life
Improve the speaker to match the awesomeness-suggesting grill on the back
Include a higher quality camera module that works well in any app, not just ASUS' own
The current CPU and especially RAM should mean it's pretty futureproof, and by keeping the specs roughly the same custom ROMs for the Z00A can be used. ASUS would save on development costs yet produce a cracking phone that could, for the right price, get ASUS' name out there, which would mean a true Zenfone 3 will have to be good when the time comes if they remain serious about the mobile market.
Well I have my hopes up for a plug and play beast... This phone pushed me into learning about Android and Linux on a programming level.. And thanks to Udemy ..I would be ready for something around next year... Thanks for letting me learn something new.. Especially the information about form factors... Really got a different perspective now... But still.. 6gig would be a hellovathing...

I dont want to Hijack this thread for an issue I am facing with this phone. But I have tried every possible thing without rooting (as I dont want to void my warranty just yet) But if you have any posts which helps out please advise that I would like to go through it.
Apart from that staying on the topic. No one can make everyone happy. Hence requirements are different for everyone. My priority is Battery as everything else is available in this phone. There are some Gimmicky things which other phones are giving and Asus Zenfone 2 does not have that but I am fine with that.
There are three things which I consider as Cons for this awesome phone..
1. Battery
2. No backlight for capacitive buttons
3. Display is not that bright when at maximum... Check White to Contrast ratio when max.
Bdw as per the NEWS Asus Zenfone 3 would still have 2/4 gb ram not more.
I'd be down for bigger battery but 5gb ram? Don't think we need that in our phones yet.

What your asking is not a niche but a bespoke phone and Asus marketing strategy focuses on mass general market which does not need a bespoke 6gb and 6000mah battery combo. Their lineup and variants with their prices range should have been a dead give away. Maybe try Samsung or HTC which caters to the higher price range and closer to bespoke market.
2GB is fairly sufficient. I have a Huawei Ascend mate 2 with only 16gb internal, 2gb of RAM and a 128gb micro SD and it's more than enough. I did order this device in the 64gb, 4gb ram version and am anxious to see how it is. It's arriving today. If anyone on here has unlocked their bootloader and rooted, would you mind sharing your expierences and or the simplest way to go about this?

Don't install custom rom yet by unlocking your bootloader. Asus so far has been improving their firmwares almost twice a month if I'm not mistaken and it's getting better as it is. There are rumors that the new fw v2.20.40.127 might be coming out this week with a hefty 123mb more or less file size.
But if the current fw and os does not satisfy you, might I suggest the cm12.1 for zf2 nightly which is one of the most popular roms here and in zentalk and so far as per several user comment the most stable of them all for the zf2 x86 device.

How about 6000 mAh battery? ASUS you feel me?

Okay, now I've totally had it with LG and this phone... here's why. [found solution]

Hi XDa'ers...
I'm sorry to say I've just had it with this phone. The awesome camera was the main reason I switched my Galaxy S4 to this. The promise of wireless charging was awesome. The sd card of course made it the only current flagship worth considering. The promotion of an extra leather back + battery just sweetened the deal.
But then...
1st G4 - Camera had a distinct pink tone. The wireless charging was iffy at first, and then completely broke down. Exchanged for a new one.
2nd G4 - Wireless charging was iffy. I attempted to downgrade the bootstack and it bricked (first one on XDA to report this fun fact which I warned everyone else about)--okay, this one's on me.
3rd G4 - Refurb warranty replacement had a broken camera which could not focus past 2 feet. Sheesh.
4th G4 - Out of the blue, wifi is suffering from a ridiculous on/off cycle which is likely hardware failure related. The phone is 2 months old! My problem specifically is that it turns on and does find wifi signals, but then turns off. Then turns on again. Repeat.
It's similar to these threads, but not exactly, as the wifi does turn on, it just keeps turning itself off.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lg-g4-wifi-stuck-trying-to-t3167191
I think it's been well established that the wireless charging on this phone is poorly implemented and a hardware issue. Fine, I can do without it. But to have the wifi crap out for no reason is really the last straw.
Looking to see what phone to switch out to. I'm on T-Mobile Jump on Demand, so the Android options are really only just the S6 or V10. I've yet to investigate the V10 forums--who knows what kind of crap engineering issues LG will have in store for us as the months roll on.
I had g4 and sold it to get the note 5, best decision ever. G4 camera was the main reason i took the phone but, the poor gaming performance the weak cpu didnt answer my demands and i hated the random lags.
Same here I am selling my g4, what upset me is I mailed them about unlocking bootloader, they replied me with this....
I am checking on blackberry priv
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
that LG approach to unlocking bootloader will cost them, Sammy does the best, despite the knox counter it always comes unlocked(unless u AT-T).

Curious to know whether your G4 variant includes wireless charging in the back itself ootb ?
In other markets you have to use the circle case or get a sticker and connect back the two pins.
In dual sim markets there are no two pins so there is no option for wireless charging at all
Not so bothered when stock charger can take this thing from 30% to full within a hour.

I think it's been well established that the wireless charging on this phone is poorly implemented and a hardware issue. Fine, I can do without it.

Which wireless charger did you use ? how well did it work with previous models with wireless charging.
LG has a good rep for wireless charging if you consider the Nexus 5. The nexus 6 made by motorola, heh, now that is more fussy. Get the impression that bigger devices are more finicky compared to smaller ones. Also flatter backs are better than curved ones. As screens get bigger those curves becomes important to make the thing feel smaller than it actually is.
Dang OP, you had some really bad luck with your g4's. Mines only actes retarded sometime when i try charging, and it thinks my charger is a usb.
Oh dear samsung...This money transaction too transparence
Ok end of joke.Wifi drop horror. My g4 same...

I too got the Note 5 switching from the G4. The lag drove me up the wall. Glad that I made the switch, note 5 has more functionality, and TouchWiz has been toned wayyyy down since the Galaxy s4, the last Samsung device I had. I would go note 5 or nexus 6p.

While not suited for everyone, Note 5 is the best phone of this year and will hold very well for next years.
Do yourself a favor, root the device and install Arter97 kernel, it fixes the sammy aggressive ram management, and enjoy the Note!

That's what i thought about the note 4 nd was surprised to come across a few that switched to the G4.
Sammy's pissed off the Euro's though. They only get to see note 5 in jan.
In india it was out last month and its made here for the Indian market.

How's the battery on the note 5. sot ? run time ? mention your brightness in %.
mention how was it with stock. And then with this kernel.
Depends on your uses and what running in background.
I can get through the day easily with 30%+- remain from 7am to 8pm, 50-75% brightness, what i do is location always on, wifi+data, google sync, messages, chrome, facebook, what's up etc.
Now i also do heavy gaming since this is the only phone that cna do it right, i measured something intersting.
While forcing the phone to run at maximum speed on all 8 cores and GPU, and playing intensive game like Tekken 6 on 50-60% brightness, it will deplete to 0 after 3:30-3:40hr straight gaming at maximum frequency... which is amazing, the G4 barely held 2hr.
you won't be disappointed, specially if u come from G4.

been skimming the note 5 battery thread and not seeing the stellar performance of the note 4 under kk.

yes G4 is bad for gamers, what drove me insane is that angry birds 2 lagged on it, and it has weak cpu that can't run tekken 6 and dark resurrection at 60fps, note 5 can do it, that is amazing of itself.
G4 had random lags at times, Note 5 does not have any of those, rarely it has unlock screen freeze, when u unlock the screen it freezes for 5 second and then do all your taps... should be resolved in new update(already resolved for some).
Note 5 overall is the best phone i ever used, screen sound quality touchwiz... all better than g4 and v10.

How will note 5 fare against the SD 820 ?
Qualcom got a bloody nose this year, they are likely to come out swinging next year. Lots of building up going on, 80k antutu bla bla.
we will see is what i say. Note 5's cpu is a 14nm i think. so qualcom is playing catch up.

1)Note 5 will fare very well against SD820, i expect SD820 multi-test score will either slightly higher than 7420 or slightly lower, the GPU will probably be 30-40% better if it won't throttle, but who knows? i have yet seen any game that bring Note 5 to it's knees, Exynos 7420 is seriously best chip Sammy ever made, and best cheap of last generation(till 8890 at least).
2)I had G4 from June 2 till 18 Aug, i didn't really measure the speed of the upload and download of both phones , but since i know my wifi speed, the G4 would miss sometimes and stopped downloading in the middle, or download very slow despite the connection was perfect, but it was inconsistent. some days it will be good, some other won't.
Note 5 has yet to do it to me, mobile data and wifi link are great.
And btw, gonna drain my battery a bit more now and send you the picture of the SOT and battery usage, the only thing that G4 does slightly better than note 5, is taking picture in low light.

How is the rom scene with exynos ?
yes you have an unlocked bootloader but how does rom development fare when exynos sources are not completely released.
The result seems to be the same with the Lg's use qualcom but lock the bootloader. I've not figured out why the rest of the world got locked out except europe. Its like they use europe as a test case and when they have other products for sale, quietly unlock the rest. I don't beleive the current situation will endure, when the door is already slightly open.

What i'm thinking is the wifi chip sammy's have been using since the S5 last year is twice as fast. Not found any one to verify that though. There have been reports of sketchy wifi on the G4, maybe some tweaking required.

Pure vs. Z2 Force thread

now that you guys have seen the new moto, what do you think? would you buy it?
the buzz killer a bit for me is the deleted 3.5mm headphone jack
well it's estimated that moto z2 force is gonna cost for apx $621.49/- which i personally think is costly and not worth it
pros:
snapdragon 835(faster ovbio.. u will get updates more quicker & better performance)
dual camera (which is good feature)
shaterproof screen (nice)
5.5 quadhd amoled (nice)
cons:
battery (2730mAh) not worth
no audio jack (upto you)
moto mods... (too costly)
4GB ram... (one plus 5 has released phones upto 8GB and moto still at 4GB)
wall charger now gives 12W instead of 20W power (won't charge quick like moto x style/pure)
final review: just look and think. if i was you i would have not wasted my $621.49/- for this. instead i would have got a new and better phone

2700 mah on a snapdragon 835. I don't know what motorola is thinking about but is way above the average for a 2017 flagship. It is a ridiculous decision from a ridiculous company.

Agreed. 100%. I'll link the Reddit thread about why the Z2 force sucks for what it is.
yeah ill be more concerned about the battery because once your using all those apps on that 4gb of ram and it gets close to max... that battery is going to be shot.
had they included 6gb of ram i may have been more willing to buy it

Umm... What? Why would having 2, 4, or 6 GB of RAM have any relation to battery life? That doesn't make any sense... personally I just don't like it because the battery is too small, period.
The Moto Z play was a phone whose quality construction was the worst. The back "glass" scratched with only seeyin it, the cámera lens wasn't even scratch prof so it gets scratched too. The screen was mounted in a way that with a 10cm fall it break in 10 pieces. Lenovo chose to save cents in a 450 USD phone just putting in it the worse materials ever.
Eveen with this in mind it is a phone wich become a sales record just for his amazin battery life, like 12 hours of SoT in some cases.
Now what is even even even more amazing that what they did with the Z2 force, is how they cut the battery of the Z Play in their Z Play 2, to release a phone a little bit tiny with almost the same processor, the same screen and similar cameras, justo to price it 150 U$D more. Not only they cut the battery mAh in 600mah, it doesn't last even the half of the Z Play wich was a succes for his battery life. All of this just to gain 1mm less Lol.
Really i don't know what they are thinking about, maybe they think they are going to sell more mods in this way but only a monkey will pay so much for a phone that much overpriced with poor battery life. To this just add the shi**y customer services and support they had. I am just crossing my fingers for Nokia to come worldwide.
The battery isn't too bad since it's less than 10% smaller than the Pure's with the addition of a more efficient processor and an AMOLED display help balance it out
The extra memory is nice, but it won't make too much of a difference in the day to day use that I have
The shatter-proof display is really cool, but it's plastic and can be scratched so easily, at that point I'd rather have a glass screen and a screen protector
I could never see myself buying a moto mod because of them being too pricey along with me preferring to have a case on at all times
The dual camera thing is nice, but I'm perfectly satisfied with the single camera on the Pure. The Camera bump is also terrible and I'd hate to deal with that if I couldn't have a case on
The lack of dual front facing speakers is a pretty big downside for me, but I'd be willing to deal with it if the phone had more pros
I personally hate the way Moto has implemented the fingerprint scanner since it can't be used as a home button and the software buttons are still there just wasting screen real-estate
It's being shipped with an already out of date version of Nougat (7.1.1) and then it'll get O and (maybe) P. The only thing I would be happy about in regards to the updates is the possibility of them being delivered more quickly
Finally, the price. Assuming that everyone here that is thinking about switching from the Pure, (based on the current prices from Swappa and Ebay) you'll probably get about $200 from a 16GB used Pure. Then you could get it for about $520 (assuming that you buy the phone for $720). Ultimately, this is a bad deal and nowhere near worth it for me

You are likely missing an important piece here... those apps running, are RUNNING, in other words they are doing stuff like accessing the processor, sensors, storage, etc.
[troll]Logic says your thought that having more RAM's reduces power consumption is flawed... if anything it is the opposite, more RAM will likely require more power because the more stuff in RAM, the more things running and doing stuff, thus using more battery.[/troll]
Sorry, but this topic has been debated to death since different RAM variants of otherwise identical Android devices came out and the consensus is that the amount of RAM in otherwise similar devices has no noticeable impact on battery consumption... Do you see reviews where a difference in battery life is noted between say the Moto G5 Plus 2/32GB and 4/64GB models, the OP5's 6GB or 8GB variant, or the Redmi Note 4 which comes in a 2, 3, and 4GB variant? No... why? Because there is no difference in battery consumption. There is potential of difference for many other things related specifically to RAM, but not battery life.
Show me a review or article that is from a verifiable, reputable source that states the contrary and explains WHY it would take more power and I will gladly read it.
There is also the piece we haven't mentioned, that a device should never have more than 10-15% of free RAM anyway... this is a Linux based OS, meaning free RAM is wasted RAM.

Lenovo downgrade the quality of their product to a really poor level. It started with the lenz of the g4 and Z line and continued with the Z play screen an back cover. They prefer to save cents not putting scratch test glass that bringing a solid product to their clients.
Not a chance, the Moto z2 force is a downgrade to this phone

Perhaps the chip is the only difference, 865 plus.
But yeah, I'm satisfied with the 8pro, the T version is gonna cost a lot apparently.
Wrote this in the other thread, got closed so gets my two cents on the 8T or what I'd expect
The difference will be small incremental changes / updates, the 8 is already a pretty much perfect phone, I cannot fault it; maybe the battery if anything.
Remain
-----------
Screen will remain the same
Size will remain the same
Speakers will remain the same
Battery may / should get a bump
RAM will remain the same
Storage will remain the same
Connectivity will remain the same
Photochrom will be dropped entirely
Buffs / changes
----------------------
Price will see a bump
Charging speed will get a bump
Camera bump from 48 - 64MP
Front camera may get moved to centre or an additional one added, won't be a pop up.
CPU / GPU will be the + variant, honestly at this point it matters a lot less than it would have a few years back, the 865 standard is so powerful the bump to the + may be negligible unless they retain performance and really work on the stamina but I can't see it
Design of the phone may change slightly
New camera lens will take place of photochrom, perhaps fish eye or similar, is 3D still a thing.
On a personal note, I wouldn't get the 8T as I already have the 8, for you I would say; if the battery doesn't get a major bump then I'd go with the 8.
Plus the price will drop when the 8T is near it's launch or even announcement making it the obvious choice.
Then again, that's my opinion, it's up to you.
Also all the rumours at this point are just rumours, if you want a good idea of what the device will be like, look out for the next oppo flagship as it's usually a strong indicator of what will be next for OnePlus.
OnePlus bring a phone out every 6 months, however for the first time there is literally nothing that the CPU / GPU cannot run perfectly, there is no need for more speed now, strange territory, will be interesting to see if they keep buffing the performance or work on efficiency, the latter would be the logical choice but I guess time will tell.

Nice, I always say stock is better but just can't satisfy myself being unrooted ?
I'm rooted and using a custom kernel and getting 7h SOT max with a normal usage. I feel like I could get better with stock but simply want to use a couple of things that require root.
When you root and use a kernel that you think is good, please tell me in PM, I appreciate it, thanks.

Currently testing xXx which is just as I remember it.
Quite impressed that so much can be achieved via a Magisk module Vs a ROM.
