Hi everyone, is there a way I can just back to stock ATT Rom? I had it rooted and installed one of the roms, but I just want to go back to stock, say the B170 version than later do the officail upgrade to B180, so what are the steps to do that? And when I mean stock, I mean like I just bought it from the store, no TWRP or whatever, just want the phone to be back to original working condition so that I can give it to my kid to play with. Appreciate any help.
Once you've unlocked the bootloader, you can't do an OTA update. You have to wait for someone here to post a flashable B180 ROM.
Thanks, didn't know that. Is there a way to remove that bootup warning when I start up the phone?
not atm i been trying to look into that but havent had much time busy with real life stuff but i will report back if i make any progress on that

Hope anyone can help, I basically bought a UK i9505 unlocked or unbranded from phones 4 u, I have since rooted and installed a few custom roms\kernels.
I'm basically looking to put everything back to stock, I am currently downloading firmware I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_BTU, can you tell me if this is the latest and correct firmware?, also I don't really understand what the CSC is?, would I need to modify this and when flashing the firmware will the kernel change to an official stock or do I need to flash that as well.
Finally at present my system is modified, how do I get this back to official and 0?, I do have the triangle away app.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to double check everything as I'm not that confident with the process and mainly the order of the steps in the process.

The lollipop update for i9500 will be out in December. So if my device is rooted, Philz recovery, and the system status is custom, is there anyway to still update it? I don't mind losing root or recovery, and if possible not losing my data. Dont call me stupid or what, I'm just curious about it. I think it should be able to receive and install ota if I flash back all to stock right? Google it and all I see is replies scolding the op stupid or suggesting some custom roms. Custom roms are great but I'm curious about the official one from Samsung ota. Just asking here, so don't scold me please

There is no way you can get an ota without flashing an official rom first.
IMHO, flash 5.0 directly when it comes via odin.
Plus lollipop will be out in Jan-Feb. Let 4.4.4 come out first...

Hello XDA. I am going to unroot and return to stock firmware and recovery as i would like to update the phone through samsung kies. As i understand i need to update the boot loader and modem. I then plan to reroot and install ktoonz recovery and get a newer rom. I have an SM-g900w8 (telus) currently running x-note NE2 software version 3 i belive and ktoonz 08.04.2014 kernel with twrp 2.8.0.0. I rooted the phone 3 days after i got it and never took a samsung update. I am just curious as to weather i need to revert to stock recovery before i flash the stock firmware. I made a brick out of my S2X trying to revert to stock so i am a little gun shy. Also wondering if this whole coarse of action is advisable and worth the trouble. If there are any known issues with rooting and flashing after samsungs latest updates. Also if anyone can provide or point my toward the stock firmware for a telus sm-g900w8 that would be great as i cant seem to find a reasonable place to download it. i apologize for not doing more reading and research but i just spent 6 months away from home working so i am trying to catch up. First off all i have latest stock rom (lolipop) and its not rooted so do i have to root my device first then unlock bootloader then flash rom? And which rom is good at the moment? My priorities are battery life > performance > visual.

you can root zenfone without unlocking bootloader and if you wont flash rom backup your imei using terminal and then system using twrp or another recovery

i have been looking around and can not find any info on what i want to do. so i am just going to ask and see if anyone can help. hope ive come to the right place.
about a year ago i purchased a blu studio 6.0 hd(d651u). it came stock with kk(4.2.2 i believe. can confirm if needed.) i pulled the stock firmware using droid tool. so i do have the original rom and scatter file. the lollipop update was available so i updated. afterwards i ran the updated rom through SuperRs rom kitchen, rooted, de-odexed, debloated... afterwards when i was theming the apks and was almost satisfied, i dropped the phone and it broke.. so i purchased another one. same make same model(d651u). only thing i see any different is that this new one came stock with the same lollipop rom that my old phone had updated to. so my question is this. can i use the stock rom and scatter file that i got from my original device to restore the device i have now in case anything goes wrong. im trying to find out if i can safely skip the whole rom pull step and jump right into getting my custom rom onto my NEW phone. i know i can use my old rom, i just wonder if i would be able to restore a brick with my original rom pull because they are the same device, just manufactured at different times. any feed back would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you

no, you should not use the backup from another phone to restore your new one. and you should post in the section for blu studioinstead of here, the info you get here might be inaccurate

Want to wipe my phone fresh since I'm running out of space. My phone has been telling me for months that I have an update, but I haven't updated because I've been told on here never to do OTA updates.
I tried looking around for a stock rooted ROM for this like I've flashed for other versions, but I can't much if any info on the new PL1 update. Usually, someone posts a de-knoxed, rooted version of the software. Is that around or what should I do?
How should I do the update? If I download it from sammobile and flashed it, will that screw up my phone?
Edit: TBH, it's been a while since I've done this and have forgotten the right terminology. I'm not sure if my phone is "unlocked," but I have Philz Touch recovery on it, definitely rooted, and whatever else is built into those modified stock ROMs. Just want to wipe, update, and keep my functionality without bricking or something, since I need this thing working. I can't seem to find a straightforward post on here, and I'm just so busy with school I feel like I can't catch up and relearn all this stuff again.
