SM-S550TL Stock Rom Flash - Samsung Galaxy On5 Questions & Answers

My phone is currently locked down with the factory firmware for testing the device and I can't find the stock ROM anywhere. I have a ROM for the correct model here but I can't figure out how to flash it through Odin. All help is appreciated.

First make sure you have own unlock and usb debugging clicked in dev options. Enable dev options by repeatedly tapping the build number in about phone until a pop up at the bottom of the screen says you are now a developer. Once theses are clicked make sure to never unlock them if you don't want the for lock to be enabled and lock the device again down the road. (Skip the first part if you're ftp locked.) Second on your pc extract the .zip file you downloaded from android file host and note where you extracted it to. Open odin (use the latest version) and click on the box with the three dots in it next to each slot and place the matching file from the extracted zip in each of their respective slots. Ex= ap file goes in ap slot, bl file goes in bl slot, vac file in vac slot, and so on. Do all of them at once. (Note: you will have extra files. This is ok and normal.) Boot device into download mode (from power off; press and hold power+vol up+ home all at the same time til it shows samsung symbol, let go of power but continue to hold others till it comes to a warning screen. Release the buttons and press vol up to enter download mode.) Connect device to pc. In odin it will show a blue "connected" in the dialog box. Click start and let odin do it's thing. When finished it should say passed above the dialog box. Hope this helps. If you need help or more detailed instructions check out this thread here

I have tried this Odin won't flash the .img file and converting the individual files to a .tar file didn't work either. I'm not sure where to put the boot.img cache.img recovery.img system.img and userdata.img files in on odin.
I figured it out i flash system in the AP slot and param in the csc slot and it completed successfully.

Glad you got it all figured out. Did it remove the frp lock for you?

booting failed

Help.
Booting failed. After downloading "[LINUX] Universal Nexus Linux Toolkit v1.0 (Unlock, Lock, Root, CWM, Factory Reset)" and ran Unlock the bootloader, Flash CWM recovery (Standard or Touch), Root the phone, I didn't foud anything change (not like my cellphone, I can select recovery mode when long push the powerbutton off button), so I made a decision (I beleve that's a huge mistake), I did lock the bootloader and flash Google Factory Image. Finally I realised I couldn't boot OS, but I found at the begining of power on, I could choose "start" "restart bootloader" "recovery mode" "power off" , It said booting faild if I select start or recovery mode.
Is there any way to rescue my tablet?
I have not used that tool.. But i believe you were to have a rom on your data/ media partition on your tablet then boot into recovery and flash the rom.. Sounds like your tablet just has no rom on it.. Try to adb push a rom to data /media then go into cwm and flash it .. you can use the nexus tool kit to do this if you do not know how..
Good Luck...
---------- Post added at 06:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:43 PM ----------
oops misread . your saying you can not get to recovery.. Try holding both vol up and down together and then power button from a off state . Before i would say 20 seconds you should get a hard reset.. if not the recovery/ rom flash failed.. You will need to use a Nexus tool kit to put the recovery and rom back.. or use fastboot to push recovery.. boot into recovery and install flash rom....
Sorry
can't see device with usb or adb
I have the same problem. Unforunately, I can't see my device with adb or in windows via the usb port. Without these I can't use the Nexus 7 toolkit. Any idea what I should try next?

How Unbrick nexus 7!!
1) Download the factory. image of nexus 7 before by this https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images.
2) nexus 7 root toolkit for the advanced. utilities it. (Lower left corner of the application), then click Launch.
3) mode is advanced tool you see Quick tools (on the left), select Fastboot-Bootloader me. The middle section (Boot / Flash image) to Flash (Permanent).
4) the file you downloaded from the first) is to run it using 7zip. Do not have a zip file. Recommend that if you are exhausted. The file extension. . Img me into the same folder (for ease of flash. And protection against flash files!) 7zip app and all programs in the community. Reload this App Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.joa.zipperplus7.
Computer loaded from this link. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html.
5) flash file system before the first Boot Click Boot and select the file from 4) the file named boot.img it.
6) flash the Bootloader on file bootloader-tilapia-4.18.img. (The grouper tilapia could be it. If you use the nexus 7 Wifi only).
7) flash the Radio / Baseband file name. radio-tilapia-1231_0.17.0_1205.img it.
8) flash File Recovery file name. recovery.img it.
9) flash file system on the order Userdata System and select the file system.img userdata select userdata.img.
10) completed it. Your machine will reboot. I do not drink coffee.
11) Enjoy! ^ _ ^.
You. Ban flash the wrong files here. I need the name of the file. The only way to tell!
I flash rom 0.2 the risk. I should be very careful.
0.3 If this is the case, you Softbrick it. (Hardbrick may not), then I try this method worked 100%.
There is a 0.4 credit, I thought I was the way I make them up. I want to share with. Please add credit to it. If one on me. Help bring this up with the group, thank you.
0.5 If there is another one your way. The mind of the South. (I have yet to try it as I work) and I like that we do not have information on the nexus (the brick that we do not backup data).
Ways.
First. Downloaded SDK from this link.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html.
Two. Then double-click. Extract the files placed on the desktop.
Three. Downloaded Factory Image (create a new folder and then extract the files to put in it).
. 4 Factory Image extracted successfully, look for a file named flash-all, right-click the file and select edit, then go to delete off-w, then Save and come out.
5. Adt-bundle up to see two folders. Click to select the sdk folder and then uncompress the Factory Image files Copy all (6 files) and put it in a folder. platform-tools.
6th. Then double click the flash-all then lay in wait for a while to update it back to Factory Image kosher by the data is lost. Mod it to disappear, they are only dancing, etc. (it's new to flash).
Note: Do not forget to delete off-w, otherwise everything totally disappeared.
Suggested: do not open a cmd without the headache type. Not faced with the annoying Waiting for device.
0.6 Read carefully and understand it before doing it. Because many steps too. And all the way I say. In the computer, you must install the drivers and I!
It's .7 stock rom nexus 7 Wifi version, select nakasi (grouper) it. The Model 3G or 3G + Wifi. Select nakasig (tilapia).
0.8 I thank everyone. And all the comments too. I suggest that the nexus 7 brick.
0.9 If a brick at me because I was pushed to the nexus 7 root tool v 5.0 to flash stock rom just to watch a lot of this toolkit. + audio bug bit orchestrated. I recommend the use of or nexus root toolkit v1.6.3 wugfresh it.

When you tried the EUUS did you follow the flowchart in the second post of this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560
I just ran a EUUS fine following the flowchart - But had a result similar to yours when I didn't unzip the EXE and fill in the CPUID.txt file.
I'm in the same situation, no way to get the v8 UNL BL, stops at stage 2 (BT's apxflashtool) and "3/4 recovery" with AfterOTA TOOL.
I shall try the EUUS flashing (will delete your internal memory), but now I'm very busy so I renounced..
The EUSS file flashing should help

Couple of ideas to try...
Make sure that when that screen comes up there is not a second window it spawned hiding behind it... For me when it got to that screen I saw another window pop, and it was hidden behind the main, the popup window walks you thru the next steps of setting APX mode, plug in cable, hit ok......
Another thing to try is Right click the PBJ20upgrade.exe and choose "Run as Administrator"
Finally download a new copy... when you unzip it you should end up with Several files and then two folders /Image and /usbpcdriver. The /Image folder has all the img files it needs to install. In the root there is a file called version.cfg that when I view inside it seems to have the info that the program uses to tell what version it is going to install... Hazzard a guess that if that file is missing it might not know what its going to install.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 2014811 bricked after updating SuperSu binary in recovery?

I'm not rly good with electronics etc, my phone came with root access permissions via Security MIUI app so I installed SuperSu to manage it easier (MIUI app reqiured to manually check each app to allow access), no custom ROM or anything installed, the way it happened was
1. updated supersu from google play
2. entered supersu app,it asked me to update su binary
3. I clicked yes through recovery
4. it rebooted and got bootlooped.
It's stuck at the "mi.com" screen when turning on, can't go into recovery, fastboot mode only shows an image of Miui mascot without any fastboot options. I've followed some tutorials online and got the thing below from minimal adb.

Fastboot will show that android icon only.
No fastboot options will be available there.
Now you need to perform some steps to recover your device..
Note - Your data will be wiped. Also, remove memory card (if any).
Now let's start the process -:
Download MIUI Fastboot ROM file.
Here's the link..
1GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_global&b=F&r=global&n=
2GB RAM model - http://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=wt88047_pro_global&b=F&r=global&n=
Also extract this file and put in C Drive.
Now turn your PC on..
And install latest Mi flash tool. http://api.bbs.miui.com/url/MiFlash
Turn your device off. By pulling battery. (Assuming that your device is in bootloop).
Go to fastboot mode (power + volume down)
Now turn your PC on.
Open Mi flash tool.
Connect your device.
Click on refresh button in flash tool.
Now, it will show some random numbers. (This is your device).
Now, select your ROM fastboot file which you downloaded and extracted.
After that, choose 'flash all' and click Flash..
It will take some time.
After that your device will be rebooted.
Voila! Your device is back to life!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/how-to-bypass-frp-galaxy-s7-possibly-6-t3622126
a brilliant method.
I think basically what it does is provide two connections to the phone at the same time, one via Odin, and the other via direct ADB.
Step one is to flash a Universal boot loader, which is unlocked or can be unlocked via ADB. Now with the locked boot loader out of the way, on to getting rid of FRP.
Step two is run the. bat file which deletes the Persistence file, which is the Google encrypted setup file/FRP file. BOOM, FRP gone.
Then either stay on the Universal bootloader, or go back and flash the OEM.
Brilliant!

Head over to the OP's post and ring him up. I think after the first flash, as I get it, you have to somehow run the .bat file in adb, It is the .bat file that deletes the Persistence file/partition, where, as he explains, the FRP (Google enctypted file) is held. Once that is out of the way, FRP should be gone, then flash back your stock BL, or leave it on the U (Universal) BL if you wish?
That's my understanding. I don't think the OP's been around his post for several months. We are hoping he returns to answer and clarify some questions.

Note 3 SM-N9005 coming from firmware LRX21V.N9005XXSGBRI2

What are the steps to flash?
In theory
unlock BL (is it needed at all, and if how for the SM-9005 Note III)
flash RM (TWRP etc., which version?)
flash CR (LOS and so on, what is a rock solid option?)
flash GAPPS
Or do I need to root first?
There is no OEM Unlock in the [Developer options]
Any links to follow? For a specific method suitable for Note3?
Best ROM for me would be, bug free overall operation, no lags
Any recommends for a flawless and well performing custom ROM (above FW LRX21V.N9005XXSGBRI2 is stock)
The steps are mostly correct. You may have to ensure Vaultkeeper is disabled after unlocking the bootloader. See this.
You do not have to root your device in order to install a custom ROM. All you should have to do is unlock your bootloader, ensure Vaultkeeper/KG is disabled, then install TWRP, which you can use to flash a custom ROM.
Starting with a shopping list:
Heimdall Recovery Flasher
TWRP for SM-N9500
from Team Win Website TWRP for HLTE
Bring the phone to Download mode:
Powering off and press the Power, Volume Down, and Home buttons simultaneously. When the blue screen appears, release all 3 buttons and press Volume Up

}
In Heimdall - Utilities - Detect
Nice try won't do - Heimdall wants a gzipped tar containing a firmware.xml - neither the xml is there
Heading over to ODIN website
In Odin, import the appropriate twrp.tar file for your variant with the "AP" and press the "Start" button
Succeed 1 ?
Won't install yet. After Reboot into Recovermode "Power, VolUp, Home" Standard Recovery shows up
There is no OEM unlock in Dev Options. The only thing visible is Allow USB Debugging
With USB plugging in, phone is asking PTP or MTP but not debugging. I would assume some additional step is missing.
OK, I'm one step beyond:
After starting Odin, filling the AP button with TWRP, this time I disabled under Options TAB "auto reboot" before starting to flash, then I saw the pass message
Disconnecting the USB and pressing power, volume up and home button until reboot
Releasing the power button instantly and kept holding volume up + home until it enters TWRP recovery
Well, that's the first step, now the wipes
Wipe and pull “Swipe to Factory Reset”
Advanced Wipe, System and pull “Swipe to Wipe”
Now I connect USB und use the filemanager to upload ROM and GAP to the internal storage.
Still not sure which to use.
