At first I thought I had the 100% sticking problem because after I took it off the charger this morning, first full charge, I got 1hr 47 min before it dropped to 99. Now that I'm out and on LTE it seems to be dropping a little faster. Will check back in later today.

I used my Pixel 2 in the gym the other day and it only lost 5% charge. I work out for an hour. My Nexus 6P would lose about 20% int he same amount of time. Probably symptoms of an aging battery, but hey, i'll take it. I leave the screen on for roughly 24-30 minutes while I am running (watching YouTube among other things).

Forgot to screenshot, but I got 4hrs SOT with 35% left and that on a day where I really put the phone through its paces: good mix of wifi & LTE, several navigations with maps (~20-30min each), several phone calls and texts, and of course plenty of web browsing/social media. I was impressed.

No tricks here... 6.5hrs SOT using 50% brightness (No adaptive display), always on display off, and battery saver turned off under 15%. Usage was a mix of LTE and Wi-Fi (mostly Wi-Fi), 27 min of voice calls, hour of hbo go, several pictures taken, and usual social media/news apps.

Under active driving with Waze - 4h 34m SOT with 11% battery left.

Battery Life
I am enjoying with battery life with compare to my old Samsung galaxy phone.

Wow.

Anyone use Bluetooth headphones and stream music while at work? I listen to podcasts and stream music all day (7 hours est) while at work and am wondering what the battery life would be like in this case.

Squeezed 8hrs SOT yesterday into today. Mostly wifi, but that did include BT streaming a podcast in the car on LTE for 1.5hrs and that only ate up 3%.

On LTE with every thing on except for always on. I was streaming Spotify over the phones speakers for 6 hours and had 2 and a half hours of chrome Facebook and YouTube plus texting over what's app I got home at 5 percent it did alot better then my s6 it would be dead at noon and I didn't have even a quarter of the stuff in the background

So far at 41%. 4.5 hours SoT and 7.5h since last full charge. I am happy with that. Expecting to see 6-7 hours SoT with 14-15 hour since last charge.

Anyone coming from Pixel 1 XL can compare the battery life of the two phones? I have 1XL now and afraid smaller 2 battery is just not enough since my 1XL is barely last all day in heavy use (sometimes, usually during trips where I need to use camera often etc)

I consider myself a light user. I don't have time to look at my phone for 5 or 6 hours in a day. That said, the smaller Pixel 2 has been significantly better than the 1XL for my use. It's not even close. At the gym in the morning, I stream Pandora or Spotify and track my workout with a heart rate monitor via an app on the phone. I wake the phone up constantly to check my calories and heart rate. With the Pixel 1 XL, I would lose 15-20% battery during a 1.5 hour workout. With the Pixel 2, I lose 7-8%. I stream podcasts and music during the day and drain has been minimal. Standby drain has been so much better as well. Much more similar to my experience with iPhone than any previous Android phone.
I can't speak directly about gaming and streaming videos. But every aspect of this phone has been better and more consistent than my experience with the OG Pixel and OG Pixel XL.

Battery Time - How long does your battery last?

Post your battery times here, so those thinking of buying an LG G Pad 8.3 can get an overall impression of how long the battery will last.
Remember to post your usage style (games, web browsing etc.). A screenshot of the battery usage curve (In Settings), and your current rom etc.

I can watch three episodes of top gear easy with high brightness and sound xD
But really i can get 2 and a half day with medium/high use

Best i get is 5h45mn of screen time, with brightness on 40%.
What i like is to see the diference betwean the LG edition and google edition. i´ll post a screenshot of my next battery usage, please someone with GPedition post his please.
I'm averaging about 6 hours screen time with about 50% brightness. Not really good

Not that bad, given the battery this Tab has, 6h screen time in 50% is really not bad.
just to compare, when i had my nexus 10, with brightness at 30% i only got about 7h screen time, and that was with kitkat 4.4.
Really enjoying this tab, even with the stock rom.
Hope that Gpe édition has a better battery life with 4.4.2 and no craps... Someone has a screen ?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I got about the same here. Over all about 5 1/2 total.
My tab, running CM11 has just got about 5.5h of screen time over 2-3 days.
Screen brightness at about 75% to match 50% screen brightness of my iPad Mini.
Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk
I've had mine for a week and I've managed 6:16 hours of screen time over 34 hour period to get down to 3% remaining battery. This was with brightness at 40% for over 5 hours and 30% for the last hour or so. This was mostly for email and browsing, with a few downloads and installs, but no games.

I get, on average, a little over 5 hours screen-on time over two or three days, with the rest of the time on standby (wifi on, auto mail checks happening once an hour or so). The screen-on time is probably about 50% Candy Crush style games, the rest web browsing, email, and messenger. I don't do much video playback, but when I tested that (iPlayer) I was losing 12-15% battery per hour so would expect about 7 hours on a full charge. I usually have screen brightness on about 50%.
Right now I have about 13% left, with 3 hours 40 minutes of screen time, 18 hours off the charger. Most of that is playing graphics heavy games, however, specifically Modern Combat 4 and Real Boxing. I've only had the gpad for about 3 days though, so I'm sure my battery's performance isn't optimum yet.
Under 5h of screen on for me, not really good...
It depends on high intense my gaming is on the device, as sometimes the battery can only last a matter of hours which sucks!
Usually though if I'm just browsing the internet and 50% bright, then it would usually last around 1-1.5 days.
This isn't the most scientific answer but my typical use is reading manga/watching anime for a few hours at night in bed. So my brightness is usually pretty low. With this kinda use It tends to last a few days. At one point I left it at my house and was gone for about a week and it only went down a few percent. So the standby time is definitely fantastic for this thing. However the few times i took it with me and used it frequently all day for various things (games, web browsing, reading etc. 60-80% brightness) it was dead by the end of the day or sooner.
5 hours of screen time on 50% brightness browsing web
I'm getting about 7 hours screen time( 40% brightness) .
4 / 4H30 hours screen on, brightness 60% (below the screen is too dark...) i get almost 8 hours with my galaxy tab 7.7 with brightness 100% !!
disappointing...
I watch a 720p video for 2h hour with maximum brightness under the stock ROM and I got still 70% left at the end.
In normal use I reach 2 days.

battery life

Can anyone with >4 hours sot post screenshots of their battery life? I'm only trending at 3.5 and the only problematic things are Android system and Android os. Already used 250mah after 3 hours off the charger. Google now is turned off and used PDP already but not on system apps
Same here....on snapdrag...
Honestly my battery life is pretty add. Back on the s7 edge during build 4 of the night beta my standby time was incredible. It stayed on 100 percent for 2 hours (although I did use it for about 15 minutes thought the 2 hours) and I expected the same with this phone even though it has a smaller battery. But I can't even squeeze out 11 hours and that's with PDP (disabling all bloat and even bixby and some other small things). I'm considering a factory reset to see if that helps
Um..... My battery life on the s8 plus is the best I've ever had, on any device, with or without a custom rom. The stand by I get is incredible and screen time is always over five hours.
Already got almost 5 hours 40 min SOT and still have 40% battery left.

Yes mate! It can kill your battery very fast. I've lost 20% battery in an hour after leaving my phone in a gym locker with very poor reception with my S7 Edge. The worse the signal is, the harder that phone is working to stay connected. As a consequence, you get huge battery drain in areas with poor reception no matter which brand of phone you use.

Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
I also have been getting 6+ hours so since I got mine this past Thursday. Just yesterday I got 7.5 hours sot over a 28 hours off the charger period. It's pretty damn good.
AOD is off. Turned off wifi and Bluetooth scanning.
Don't have bixby setup or enabled.
No disabled apps.
Have the S8+ btw
AOD is the killer - I probably hover around 5-6 hrs SOT with AOD enabled, 6+ hours easily with AOD disabled.
On my second charge I got just over 6 hours. I have the Canadian model which comes with Snapdragon. I have it set to WQHD+, AOD on, 50% brightness, changed a few things in settings, and use Package Disabler Pro to disable things I don't use. Its quite hard for me to drain the battery on this phone compared to the Note 5 I had.
Battery is better than my note 5.
I charged phone two times now every time sot at 5:30 hours with 15% left

I feel like I received a different phone from everyone else. On a normal day, I do 4 hour of SOT, start at 730 in the morning, finish at midnight with 50% battery left. This is with hundreds of emails received every day, youtube, web browsing, and maybe algal hour of calls.
Not quite sure how gsmarena got such a poor battery rating on this thing.

Good ..6 hours for me... But mainly on WiFi...
Im switching Roms frequently so Cant Tell much about battery.
But yeah I also wonder why everyone is rating it bad, because damn much phones have same sized ?.
Sure my overall experience is kind of sad, because I'm coming from a Moto z play where I got 2-3 days with 9+ hours SOT.
On AOSP based ROMs I had to charge it 1-2 times a day, which is ridiculous nowadays
But now on epic rom I find it hard to kill battery in 1 day, even if im trying to. I'm now at 50% after 7 hours of use with bit less than 3 hours SOT
I guess that's a good thing
1 hour calls. Set on 3G network.
Screen brightness ~30%. Was used 99% indoor so I dont need more screen light.
Browsing, facebook and some youtube on Wi-Fi. Only about 20 minutes on mobile data.
Here are my stats after first charge/discharge cycle

I'd Def say it was less than 2% for sure, but I have a pretty good mobile signal all the time which definitely helps.

The new system update seemed to have helped. Also I turned off location for a lot of apps that I won't use regularly since it might start using it in the background. Auto brightness is off and my brightness is always about half way or just under. Most other things are on like AOD. Not sure what else could have caused it.
It's always a good idea to check the battery graph page and see what apps are at the top of the list to figure out why your battery isn't doing well. Maybe it depends what you do on the phone too. For me it's mostly web browsing and watching videos.
Full charge in about 1 hour 15 minutes,
SOT averages on 4-5.5 hours
Standby drain is about 1-2% per hour
First few days I had about 2-3h SOT.
Now, after a week I am finally seeing 4 hours. Not very impressed. Only thing I have turned off is AOD and auto brightness. How people get above 5h is beyond me.
EDIT:
Wifi on all day, bad reception area and still 3h SOT with 50% battery left. Looks like the battery life is improving. Note that brightness was at about 20-30%

Best I've gotten so far. Very impressed after a terrible start with the battery life.
Hi guys, I have phone 7 days now and at the atart the battery was quite bad, but now it somehow improved.. I browse web a lot and watch youtube.. Mixed usage of WiFi and 4G. With those numbers I think I could get 7 hours SoT. I was thinking that I will switch the phone for plus version, because of thr battery, but I like the small factor of regular 9. So Im quite happy, that battery is improving after a week. Im on exynos version.
This is what I'm getting on my S9 (SD 845). Picked it up on Friday so have had it for a little over 48 hrs.
https://imgur.com/a/nfeCR
How are you guys getting over 5 hours of SOT and full day of use?
My phone drains 15-19% per hour with the screen on. At night while I'm sleeping the phone drains 1.5% per hour but during the day I'm seeing 4-6% battery drain with the screen off.
I'm using AOD, no battery saving, auto brightness, Location/Scanning on, Bluetooth on, wifi on but only if screen is on or charging.
Coming from my Oneplus 5, I'm getting around maybe half to 1/3 of the battery life of my old phone.
Will the phone get better battery life soon? Seems like everyone else is reporting terrible battery life the first few days.
Should I just throw this garbage away?
Sick of this sh*t. AOD off, WQHD+ Medium Brightness Exynos.
as expected
2nd day, and got 6hrs sot. that's with setting up the phone, taking a lot of photos at a friend's wedding and posting on Instagram, watching YouTube, trying out different themes, downloading and listening to songs on Spotify, having GPS with multiple Uber rides, AOD on, and group messaging throughout. not as good as my previous S8+, but about what I expected with the smaller battery. this is on Snapdragon, without battery saver, and always on entertainment mode.
I've had it for about 5 days and so far haven't seen SOT of longer than 3 hours. Starting to regret selling my S8+ now. I was getting 4-6 hours with that, and 500mAh shouldn't be that different. I have AOD on, HD res (not QHD), and just WiFi enabled, all other connections (NFC etc) off.
Been about 4 days on mine and have started to see 4 1/2 maybe 5 on sot. Similar to my old s8+.
What I did is fully charge and deplete battery to 0. Charge again to 100 and did trick for me.

I usually charge mine every other day with about 6 hours of screen on time. My wife, however, managed this.

I realized, after posting yesterday, that she could have had some charge time in there(forgot to check) and that would have made it look like SoT was longer than it actually was.
I checked her phone again last night and she had 6.5 hours SoT and 21 hours since last charge with 3% left.
She plays mostly casual games... Grow Castle, Neko Atsume, Candy Crush.

Thanks for the info. I find I'm getting 3-4 hours SoT whenever I play any games, but usually gain an extra hour when I'm not playing games. Wasn't sure if that's normal or bad considering what you posted about your wife's habits.
Battery life seems to be on the lower end of the spectrum. My Pixel 2 XL gets much better battery life compared to the U12.

What did that do for you? Did it improve your battery life
Just bought the phone for a week, all is perfect unless the battery .
ideal time is fine around one day and more, screen on time around 5/6 hours.
if your change the display resolution from Quad HD+ to FHD+ it will give you extra one hour .

thats not poor battery life, is average i would say
Battery is even better on latest update. I would get even more if it wasn't for me being in work and getting a weak mobile signal 47% from this. 1 Day and 19 hours 30min on a full charge with just under 5 hours screen on time, usage from games, youtube, Facebook chrome, phone calls so a high usage also. I am very happy with this phone battery.
Anyone also have the HTC U11? If so, how does it compare in screen on time? I'm considering upgrading, but don't really want to take a big hit in that area.
Anyone else?
Nobody? This thread seems to be dead like HTC company.

First charge looks promising
Hello,
If I compare the screen on times of my new HTC U12+ with your pictures, could you please tell me what did I wrong?
Screen brightness is about 15%. Apps like Facebook, GMail, Google Drive, Alexa, Messenger, News Republic and so on are deactivated.
I reached 1 hours 38 minutes screen on time with 33% battery left.
Please advise.

i would uninstall that batterystat app, those are only useful if you want to find battery draining apps and they drain battery in return.
