Doubts about buying or not - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a LeEco Le Pro 3 Elite (x722) for 139€ in a BangGood sale and sell my Xiaomi Mi 5 for 170€.
My interests are a big and good quality screen, a good battery, and a nice custom rom community.
I wanted to know about problems or disadvantages of the phone and also to listen your personal experience with this phone and Banggood service.
Regards, AcRs.

??? Why would you want to sell your Mi 5? It's the better phone since it has custom ROM development and updates. The x722 is stuck on 6.0 for the time being, and has no custom ROMs. Also, a lot of x722s from Banggood have hardware defects. A lot of people are also complaining about weird error messages (like "you're using an unofficial ROM") and stuff like that. I actually just received my x722 today and I'm going to unbox it later tonight. I bought it without realizing that it's stuck with a SafetyNet-failing shop ROM and really wish I bought a Xiaomi phone instead.

x720/x727 GOOD
x722 BAD BAD BAD
As simple as that.

I have the x727 that I bought from amazon. Why wouldn't you just buy the x727 from amazon since its only $10 more than banggood?
Next, I just read about the specs for your current Xiami Mi5, it seems that the differences between your current phone and the LeEco x722 are minimal... Why change phones, when you would essentially swap for almost identical specs?

No custom roms but you have the basic software to re-flash it, custom + stock recovery to flash and root.
There may be some custom roms (check tora33 at leeco.re) soon.
Leeco x722 has better design/quality (check user opinions here: https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/leeco-letv-le-pro-3-x722,xiaomi-mi5-32gb).

Could you please link to the lot of those?
@sk8223 - you are all over forums, moaning about x722 being a bad phone.
Majority of owners thinks that this is a great device, even better than Mi5.
@AcRs
No sense in replacing Mi5, you won't profit much.

I had my doubts about the phone because of the issues people here were facing. Now that I have the phone in my hand I'm quite pleased--it is a good phone despite having a shop ROM. I just hope I don't run into the issues users faced here, but so far everything seems to be working fine. I'm still not sure I'd recommend the x722 in particular, though, since it's kernel sources haven't been released and it's stuck with a shop ROM. You definitely don't want to be stuck with a phone on 6.0 with KRACK WPA2 vulnerabilities and all.

If you're gonna buy, do not go for the X722 version. In fact, I would suggest you to buy from this link.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...&terminal_id=3938af6eb15e45aebd9b2b57ad02cd31
Now, the main differences between Le Pro 3 and Mi5 are as follows:
1) Le Pro 3 has a bigger screen than Mi5
2) Mi5 has a better camera than Le Pro 3
3) Le Pro 3 has a bigger battery
4) Le Pro 3 has zero warranty from LeEco itself, so, if it has a software defect, you can fix it with support from XDA, but if it has a hardware defect, you gotta buy a replacement part from AliExpress, Banggood, Gearbest etc. and have it replaced at some local shop.
5) Mi5 has better custom ROM support but it doesn't matter much cause Le Pro 3 has a lot of support. You'll find a ton of custom ROMs. My favourite being AOSPA, the link for which I have provided right here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/development/rom-paranoid-android-t3635168
You can make your decision based on these points. If I helped you in any way, please press the thanks button. It'd help me a bit.

Your answer is my favorite, thanks. I will buy Leeco x720 i think

Congratulations man. I hope you enjoy the phone as much as I did. But.. I used to have a crappy Galaxy Tab 2, and then switching to this phone was awesome cause it was worlds apart. Also, I was kinda forced to buy the Le Pro 3 cause.. well, I'm just 14, and my dad wouldn't allow anything more than 200 bucks, but I'm really happy with the purchase. Good luck!

I've owned lots of phones and trust me you don't have to spend insane amounts of money. On Samsung Galaxy or iPhones to get a good phone. Leeco and xiaomi are proof of that

My thoughts exactly!

I still have doubts about buying it or not.
I live in Brazil so here I dont have any warranty if anything happens with the phone, mainly the screen type problems. I need a phone with gorilla glass
I wanted to buy Xiaomi Redmi note 4X because of the camera and the price of course, but it dosent come with gorilla glass and with more 20€ I can buy X722 (153€) that comes with gorilla glass 3
I saw that someone said to not buy it because the camera dosent have IS, but i'm seeing the photos and they're great! Am I wrong? https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/editor-review/5c9a42/8
I cannot see any phone with this price with a better camera and with GGlass...
Oh and BTW, I can only buy it on Gearbest because of customs

First of all, mark my words properly.
UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT BUY THE X722 MODEL. THAT IS LE PRO 3 ELITE AND IT HAS A FAAARRRR INFERIOR CHIP THAN X720 and X727.
Now, from my experiences, the camera is good. Not the best in the price range, but once you install the modded Google Camera with HDR+, the camera is one of the best in the price range. The AliExpress link which I provided, it offers free shipping to Brazil, so, check it out.. I'll provide it again.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Ori...&terminal_id=3938af6eb15e45aebd9b2b57ad02cd31
I think that you should go for this phone with your eyes closed, and the first thing you should do when it arrives, is install a custom ROM. And please, DO NOT GO FOR THE X722 MODEL. YOU'LL DEEPLY REGRET IT!!

Am I wrong or LeEco Le S3 have better camera than x720? Because of the Digital IS?

No, the Le Pro 3 has a better camera. Digital IS is not all that matters. Aperture, image processing, contrast and dynamic range also matter, and they're all better in the Le Pro 3.
Btw, the AliExpress link also offers free shipping to Portugal.

Forgot to add whenever I ordered anything on gearbest or AliExpress. I've never been charged customs regards if I choose free or paid shipping. AliExpress is just quicker and easier to deal with in case of an issue. As apposed to gearbest

[Q] Would you recommend elephone?

I just heard about Elephone, and since their website takes you to all these off the wall places to buy their phones, is this a company you would recommend buying a phone from? I always am a bit suspicious about these off the wall brands and stores. I am particularly interested in the P7000 but there is no topic for the P7000 (another red flag), but the P6000 and P4000 are also enticing.

go for P6000 or P7000.
you can visit their forum also, they have active developers and custom rom support also. :good:
My wife has an P6000 now for some weeks and she really likes it.
It replaces her Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus.
Screen is nice, battery is good, speed is good, Lollipop has since been released.
The only downside is the mediocre camera. It's okay for taking "party pictures" or just some pics to share, but can't compare to a good camera.
But for the price of $130, I would definetly recommend it.

Don't think the camera can be improved any further just by the software.
The build-in camera can only do 8MP, the 13MP as advertised is only interpolated. And the used CMOS isn't a Sony as advertised, but a somewhat cheaper one..
Same problem with most china phone, camera is often only mediocre. But if you aren't too heavy into photography, it shouldn't hold you back from buying a china phone

Will the Elephone p7000 work with USA 4G/LTE? I've read several of these Chinese phones I have been looking at have poor wifi range. Does Elephone typically have that problem? I ask because where my office is at work isn't that close to the wireless router, I only get about 50% signal strength.

Wait! Audio output too is a major downside. Never got such a ****ty one.. Unless I got defective unit? Doesn't seem so tough..
I've been using this phone for 3 days. It's fast, battery is OK ish, screen is good, audio wise it's OK, lacks compass and gyroscope, camera isn't so good, pictures come out kinda fuzzy. My ex-phone is a Jiayu G3T, so that is what I'm comparing it to. Cost me about 120euro.

Sorry but this only partially true.
Elephone is only a manufacturer and does only B2B.
The information flow of Elephone is rather bad. They still have on their webpage under new products the P7000 announced as available from May. However the P7000 was only partially delivered to pre-orders and a lot of people who paid for the phone are still waiting for it. Apparently the next round of deliveries for the P7000 to shops is announced for the 25th of June.
The other new Elephone models G9, P4000 and S2/S2plus announced for June are still only to pre-order in shops.
[*]The shops where you can buy the products are not truthful about the Elephone products they have in stock. In my experience you have to ask them if the have the have the product in stock in their warehouse ready for shipping.
I did cancel my order for the P7000 in gold with To2C and had to fight to get a full refund.
I placed my order with them at the 21/05/ and got a confirmation of them that they will ship it from the 25th. On the 25th To2C said we'll ship Wednesday or Thursday, on the 28th Friday because they have do put them through their QC. On the 30th they admitted that they do not fulfil the order, it will be shipped out of direct from the Elephone factory to customers and that they cannot send via PostNL. I then asked them what MT6752 3GB phone they have in their own warehouse in stock ready to be send out. They offered the Ecoo E04 (which I looked up as alternative already; it is build by Elephone and out on the market). Next Monday 01/06/ they said again sorry they do not have it in stock, it wilol be send by Elephone. At this point I cancelled my order with them and wanted to be refunded. To2C send me an email showing that they put the paypal fee to me. At that point I did open a dispute with paypal, contacted paypal and raised the dispute to a claim for a full refund, which was done with in the next hours.
I did order then the Ecoo E04 at Aliexpress and it has cleared customs late last Friday. But be aware there are a lot of shop on Aliexpress who are not to be trusted. Eg. they put up pictures of a product alleged to be in stock and you find the same picture for it in an other shop with only the paper been photoshoped. There are even some shops which sell with DHL or FedEx shipping via an extra stop VAT/Duty free.
They develop only their own stock and custom ROMs.
Elephone did not release the kernel source code for one of their android models, at least not on their forum under Developers Discussion› Android kernel.
There are some customers not happy with the support they get of Elephone.
They announced only the release of the kernel source code for their new MT 6753 based P8000 (slower cpu and Mali T720). The P8000 is announced for July, but well see my comment above
I posted a request in their forum thread to release the P8000 source code to release all their android kernel source codes.
Please support my post to push Elephone to release the kernel source codes: hxxp://bbs.elephone.hk/archiver/tid-5448.html
I as well ordered a P7000 in gold at to2c.com during pre-sale on May 12th and I finally got it delivered to my place in the EU on June 16th, which is absolutely okay.
I also had problems getting the phone in stock with t2oc, it does get shipped direct and I complained to them about the in stock claim, they then gave a tracking reference which still said registered but not dispatched... That said I good the mains adaptor from t2oc within 2 weeks and the phone from elephone within 3 weeks, my old spare HTC sensation has been passed on to my father and my HTC one is now my spare. I'm happy with the p7000 so far, I'm not a developer but its a new toy and only £150, I've ordered another for a friend through coolicool and getting the same stock issues

I just did. They are so slow in releasing new ROM. I bet they don't even develop their own ROM. You know why? Coz either JiaYu or some other manufacturer has exact releases as Elephone!

yeah... they drop all support for ROMs after about 6m since release.
they also delete forum posts that ask why the ROMs are no longer supported.

I do reccomend to buy one. It's cheap, nice, good, not small capacity (16 GB if I'm right).
But it's hell hard to root but basicly other things are nice and I enjoy using Elephone.

Should I buy a note 3 in 2016?

Hey everyone,
Looking for a phone for around 150 UK pounds with a big display, good camera and long screen on time
Heard the note 3 would suit me
Is it still getting updated? Big dev support still?
How's the Camera?
What to look for in 2nd hand phones
Are the repairs on the display cheap?
Is it worth buying a cracked display cheaper and getting it fixed?
Is the upgrade to note 4 worth it?????
Sorry loads of questions
Coming from an meizu mx5 very poor support sot of around 4 hours and camera Isnt great poor support again from meizu

I just bought one for my wife. I have one too and they are great.
It cost me about £220 second hand. The note 4 is considerably more and not £100+ better. So sick with the note 3. Camera is 13 mega pixel and more than just adequate.
I don't really care what the Samsung support is, I put custom roms on both phones so they think they are note 5's. The support on xda is all you need. Get a decent case and screen protector and it'll last.
If you can get it for a price you want them go for it. Still a great phone.

Whats roms are good for battery life
Well. I'm using the phronensis rom, which, despite its silly name is pretty dammed good. But have a look around, the thread titles will usually say if they are geared for performance or battery life (or both).
If you're new to rooting and installing custom roms then I'd recommend the all in one tool kit by skipsoft. Just search 'xda skipsoft' in Google. It pretty much does it all for you (or at least it holds your hand through the process). Just make sure that what you tell it is correct and toy should be good to go.
And be careful. I always read the last few comments in a thread to see what bugs have been reported and if the rom is still being updated. Wouldn't hurt to look up a tutorial on YouTube either.
Send me a private message if you'd like a phone chat about it
Would suggest flashing Lean or Idle kernel for good battery life.
Thanks guys
Going to buy a note three tonight for 140 pounds
Is there two different cpus which one would benefit me better.
Also it's locked down To ee is there a sim unlock tool/app
Or is it something I have to buy on the bay

Buy it unlocked, otherwise unlock codes from EE will cost you. And there are no such tools.
And very likely you're looking at SM-N9005, the Snapdragon version. There's a tiny chance you might have happened upon N900, the Exynos version that has no 4G support. The performance of the two variants is identical.
Thank you , the price for an unlocked note is alot more expensive than the ee branded ohone

For me after trying a lot of roms the better battery life have got is with this rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-qs-n9005-lp-t3037655
right gents,
i am now a proud owner of a note 3 unlock, running stock lolipop atm 5.0 going to root and start trying a rom,
paid £160 got an extra 3 batteries plus official samsung box, and samsung usb 3.0 extra battery charger...
and Armoured Case,
Slight marks on left hand side of casing, does not affect screen
i have another case, glass screen coming tomorrow also!
Thanks guys, very happy
cant believe how big it is im coming from a 5.5 inch phone also
Picked one up for $35 as a back up and to flash roms, best amount of money I've ever spent on a Android device!
For a phone this old it still kicks ass.

And be careful. I always read the last few comments in a thread to see what bugs have been reported and if the rom is still being updated. Wouldn't hurt to look up a tutorial on YouTube either.
Send me a private message if you'd like a phone chat about it

Phronesis (Ancient Greek: φρόνησις) is a word used in the ancient greek and means "wisdom" or "intelligence", common theme in philosophical debates. As you can see, this word can be anything but silly my friend
Thanks for the translation of the name but got to agree does sound odd, not yet flashed but does look absolutely beautiful.
35 dollars wow bargain that's just over 20 pounds in the UK.
Are the phones capable of fast charging only seems to be charging at 1200mah on all my chargers even the fast charge 2.0 charger I have

Le Pro 3 x720 worth buying ?

Hello everyone ! I'm considering buying a new phone since mine is almost dead. I saw le pro 3(x720) for less than 200€ that is a great price for snapdragon 821 with band b20 support ( in Europe it is somehow a deal breaker).
So I came up here to ask you guys about then customs ROM support and stability with Microg. I don't use gapps and other fancy google apps. I saw that the camera is OK so I'm ok with that but I saw that there ia some inconsistency with battery life and SOT ? So in your opinion, x720 worth buying or is better to go with other brand with couple of bucks more ?
Look at the custom ROM section of this forum and see if you're satisfied.
I don't know what your use case is, but I think LeEco phones are great... as long as they've got official LeEco ROMs on them. Sellers like Banggood/Gearbest/Geekbuying put shop ROMs on most of the LeEco devices they sell which don't pass SafetyNet. Plus the build quality of phones from these sellers can be quite iffy.
Get a phone from HongKong-Goldway on Aliexpress if you're looking for a new Chinaphone. They do VAT-free shipping to Europe and they're super careful about ROMs. Just beware that, if there's a hardware defect returning the phone will be a pain. Also, always pay with PayPal in case something goes wrong (in this case avoid Aliexpress).
If you want to go with the LeEco Pro 3 and need native SafetyNet passing without Magisk, get the x727 U.S. model. If you don't care for SafetyNet, the x720 is the only Pro3 model with custom ROMs. Avoid the x722. Personally, I'd go with Xiaomi because they've not gone bankrupt like LeEco has. The Xiaomi ROM community is super active. Now even LeEco's main site hosting their official ROMs is down.
Thanks for superfast reply I've been through the android development section and we do have a lot of choice in custom rom ! Sure Xiaomi est sure value but they lack multiple bands over LTE network. In Europe, B20 and B28 (recently) are massively used outside of cities so a phone without b20 will be a handicap. Since, i'll be travelling in Europe, b20 is deal breaker.
I don't use google apps (even maps), or any other apps that needs safetynet so i don't care a lot !
In the meantime, I was also considering 1+5 but it's out of stock :'(

I'd say wait until Black Friday, when many stores will be having sales. Is this going to be a secondary phone or your main phone? I guess the x720 would make for a decent daily driver as long as you get it from a legit source. Don't get the 32GB version since there's no SD card slot (even 32GB is way too little in this day and age). Sadly the x727 doesn't have band 20. Since you don't need SafetyNet, flashing LineageOS on the x720 would be your ideal choice.
Quite a few Xiaomi phones have band 20, like the Note 4X (Snapdragon 625). Do explore all of your options before making a final decision.

where to buy x720 6GB ?

Hi,
I want to buy Le Pro 3 x720 version with 6GB RAM, but I cannot find it. Looked on gearbest, geekbuying, banggood, tinydeal.. etc. and it is sold out ... please can you help me find it elsewhere? thanks in advance for your help
Honorbuy's still selling it. Expensive though.

It seems only LeEco Le Pro 3 X722 is available in the 6gb 64gb variation now.

I have Le 2 (x520) and I love it, so I decided to go for a Le flagship... it is truly beautiful and powerful device and damn cheap ??
unfortunately dx has canceled my order - it turns out item was sold out before i bought it
is there any other site that sells 6gb x720 or I have to go with x722?
Thankfully dx does get stock in fairly often from my experience so you could wait it out or message them and ask if they have a date for stock?

Hi,
I just had a very bad experience with Aliexpress. I received a coolpad cool1 dual instead of a Pro 3. Not a bad device, but no software community and LTE isn't compatible with my country.
I just returned the phone after a long dispute and I hope I will get my money back...
I'm looking for a X720 (6GB ) from a reliable vendor too.

So many questions... first of all, a lot of AliExpress sellers like to list multiple phones in one listing. Maybe you accidentally chose the Coolpad instead of the Pro3? What does the AliExpress transaction page say you ordered?
Second of all, if the AliExpress transaction page shows that you did indeed order a Pro3, you should be asking the seller to take the phone back ASAP. If you were smart, you would have filmed the unboxing of the phone for video evidence of the wrong order.
If you don't have recorded evidence, I think you're going to find it hard to contest this transaction. Sorry. AliExpress is quite fishy that way. You should have just ordered the 4GB variant off Amazon.com if you're in the U.S.
Hi,
No worries the problem is solved. So yes I ordered a silver 4/32 Pro 3 X720 and got a poor coolpad instead. I have evidence of that. I opened a dispute but it took a lot of time. The phone is on its way to China. The only downside is the shipping costs. Aliexpress sellers can send to you a different product. Their mention in the policy that a return is possible if product doesn't match the description but as the shipping costs are quite expensive I guess that globally they are few returns.
No I'm not from the US. Wow I saw the X727 offer on Amazon, looks like a bargain. Unfortunately I need B20 and X727 doesn't support it.

Ordering a Oneplus 8 Pro from abroad? Need some info!

So, i notice sites like Giztop and Aliexpress sell the Chinese variant of OnePlus 8 Pro for very cheap. Around 800-900 bucks. and they advertise with "global rom" What does this mean? Can they actually flash on a real Global ROM, entirely supported by OnePlus already on the CN versions? What do i lose by getting a CN version over a global version that i can buy in a store in my country for 1100bucks?
I am torn on buying a OnePlus 8 Pro CN version for 850bucks or the Sony Xperia 1 Pro for 1200dollars global from my country. But that is quite the price difference. On the other hand, i'm scared of the supposed massive OP 8 Pro screen issues? are those more prevalent on the CN versions? i see people reporting major loss in max screen brightness, calibration being way off, green tints etc etc? Hoping someone here can give some reassurance. I feel like the safe option is the Sony, but yeah dunno.
If you're buying the device from "abroad" recommend you send flowers first.

Ok let's get this straight..
First and foremost.
No one, in any situation unless you want to our feel like losing all your money, should order anything from the likes of Ali Express.
The clue is in the name.
if you want a Oneplus phone, then order it from the correct channels.
Or get it on contract, or be ready to sit through a total turd storm when you need to return to sender.
The likes of Ali Express shouldn't even be mentioned in XDA im amazed that you've been allowed to name this thread.
Ali Express is one toe dipped into the dark web, recognizable by the amount of bad deals you think you're going to get but don't.
Short answer??
Avoid Ali, period.
Pay for the phone you want and stop spreading misinformation, unless you're in China and in a OnePlus sellers shop..
Modem is probably the key factor. The band support is what you'll need.
I, too, have wondered also. iN2020 supports n41 5g but not sure if that's the same 41 that Tmo uses. If so, that would be great

Mate, what are you talking about. Nothing about this post was even remotely true. AliExpress is pretty reputable. It's basically the Chinese Amazon. This isn't the wild west days of 2010 with Chinese e-commerce.
I order stuff off AliExpress all the time. 99% of time something arrives as advertised. When it doesn't - I just open a claim and I get my money back. Items take longer these days to arrive due to ePacket and covid-19 - but I always get what I ordered.
I think you might be thinking of Alibaba, which also in turn has dramatically improved in the last few years.

Its the Chinese model (IN2020) with global ROM (IN11AA)
The same ROM as the IN2025 model
I will also order one next month..
You could also try Wonda Mobile, they are based in Hong Kong. They have a complete section of faq on the actual device, the only main difference would be the bands like 5g. They also have a section which lists them so have a look at that to make sure your network supports it.
I bought a OnePlus 8 Pro from Giztop and it's the Chinese version with Oxygen OS on it. I immediately regret it and now I can't return it. If you're in the US, don't do it.

I was looking at it when you couldn't get one in the US. The bands (n71 and n41) were the issue.
So far, have not seen any post from anyone in US TMO that has one that works on LTE and 5G over here.

Well, for one I'm missing a few bands compared to the IN2023 version. That's the most important thing to me. Two, I honestly feel like the 5g is not as strong due to me missing those bands.
Hey, just to give my 2 cents about ordering this phone from China....
Just did it and went for the 12/256 Ultramarine Oneplus 8 Pro at the end of April for about $930 USD, shipping included, on AliExpress.
Took a LONG time to arrive to me (6 weeks!) BUT... Phone is perfect, no defect, screen is gorgeous and nothing wrong with it, even though it is probably a "first batch" unit. Got a Chinese IN2020 unit flashed by seller with Global ROM (came with 10.5.3 or 10.5.4 ROM out of the box), had a pre-applied (plastic) screen protector that will allow me to wait a few more days/weeks to get my UV 3D glass screen protectors for a better protection and better light transmittance. Unit looked new, with all the packaging (even though it was flashed to Global ROM by seller, but still, they managed to make it look like it has never even been turned on, as the phone box itself was still fully wrapped/sealed with plastic).
Once turned on, immediately updated to 10.5.8 Global without any problem, unlocked bootloader, booted to latest TWRP, Rooted of course and applied my usual Magisk modules, as well as flashed a custom kernel (Omega, to be precise). Tweaked my unit to my desire, installed a Gcam to have more options regarding photography, and... well ,that's all, mate!
Nothing much to say, except I'm delighted by my purchase and by this phone for now! Coming from a Oneplus 5T with custom Android Q ROM, it is a BIG step ahead and definitely impressive piece of hardware. However, in terms of speed, can't say the difference is huge (sure, OP8 Pro is faster, but not by a 100X, not even a 2X factor when you use it normally).
If you have an opportunity to buy the Chinese version at a good price from AE or any other reseller, offering some warranty in case something goes wrong during transportation or with the unit itself of course, and if you are not able to get it from your local store (it was and still is not easily available in my country at a decent price right now), then go on and do it! Just remember, unless you go for DHL or other fast shipping carrier, you'll have to be patient.
Cheers!
