[Request] Could someone extract the apk of Polaris Office 4.0?

Hi guys,
I have special but not too strange request: I have seen that at least the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1" comes with Polaris Office version 4.0.xxx preinstalled which seems to be quite nice.
Could someone who ownes the Tab (or has PO 4) use apk etractor or so to extract the apk of the app and share it?
Because some tablets (i.e. the Asus Transformer series) comes with version 3.0 of Polaris office and it would be awesome if someone could post version 4 to which everybody could update then.
Thanks!

It is a paid software, and asking for users to post a link up to it would be pirating said software.

Hey, do you know what Polaris Office is? I wouldn't ask for any cracked app or Warez on xda- or anywhere else- and believe it or not, I do buy apps in the Play Store with my mony! The point is that Polaris Office CANNOT be purchased in the Play Store. I'd love to see it in it, but it has never been there (only preinstalled on almost every Smartphone and tablet).
So an apk of Polaris wouldn't be Warez I'd say, it is about the same case as an apk of, say, the launcher of the Xperia S you can install on other Android phones.

Actually it is a paid for app, but they have not released version 4.0 to the general public. It has to do with licensing. Samsung bought the license to include it on the new galaxy tabs. It would be similar to taking windows 7 off your oem computer and uploading it so others can upgrade their versions.
not meaning to attack you as i believe you are an honest person. Licensing stuff sucks but i guess most simply put would be how would infraware react to finding links to polaris office apks on xda when googling.
As already explained above, the software is licensed for release on specific devices, so this is a request for pirated software.

[Q] Bypassing Exchange ActiveSync Security Policy

Any way to bypass Exchange 2010 ActiveSync Security Policy on JRO03D?
I tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452
It successfully decompiled the email .odex files, patched them, recompiled them, but exchange is still forcing me to:
• Erase all data via factory reset (remote wipe)
• Set password rules for unlock screen
• Monitor screen unlock attempts
• Control the lockscreen policy
• Set lock screen expiration
• Force device encryption
• Disable cameras
No way I'm agreeing to that.
Seems a little strict (camera) but your company sets the policy. At ours, if you need email as a business requirement you accept the policy or don't get access..
Some are issued company phones and don't use there personal devices for that purpose.
If you attempt to circumvent security, you can be fired for breach of policy... most tend to want their jobs...
I have worked in offices where cameras were not allowed. (Motorola) If your phone had one you had to check it at the security gate.
Sent from my Nexus 7
Nevermind, this patch DOES work. You still get the message that you must accept the new security policy, but none of the restrictions are imposed.

Last I heard corporate IT departments don't get to create laws. Doing this is most assuredly NOT illegal, but it can get you fired or sued for a breach of your employment contract.

Agreed. Also, it's my choice if I want to get fired or not. We're looking for a way to access our corporate email without fearing our devices being wiped thanks to a wrongly-placed finger.

Bumping because I want a solution or an alternative. I can't believe Android systems presume of their capabilities and such but aren't able to let the user configure a damn policy manually, like. Wtf.

Active-Sync is an enterprise solution, controlled by... you guessed it, your enterprise/company IT staff and for a reason, that is why it is not configurable. Is your N7 something given to you by your company? if not and you choose to use it to get email from your company Exchange environment then this is all on you. This is also something that Google licenses from MS to provide extended functionality to their users.
Maybe if you push this up your management ladder, you might get your admins to make an exception for you <sarcasm>

It would take a lot of effort for that wrongly placed finger to wipe your device, this is not an option that is on the surface of any admin utility. Again if it's a personal device you should assume the liability of using it for company use.

I appreciate your correct answers, however I thought the hacker community in general wasn't about doing things as-they-should-be but on the contrary, provide the knowledge/tools without being hold responsible of the given usage (good or bad) of such knowledge or tools?.
Also, not every country has the same culture and thus not the same rules apply for each company, also, not every company has well-prepared personnel in their place, especially when you're the one without a degree solving their stupid network/exchange problems instead of them, so my fear of them doing something stupid to my cellphone thanks to those incorrect permissions and policy enforcements is justified.
Anyways, for those interested, Maildroid (free) has done the job. The app is also good enough to provide a lock (password/pin) before opening itself instead of blocking the damn phone and exposing it to be wiped at any time by some retard, so it's a good choice and I recommend it .

Our corporate IT (Giant multi-national corporation) is the same group of idiots that pushed a proxy server out to all of the computers including laptops.
I am in the field, onsite, for 5-6 days week and obviously this didn't work for me or my peers. We use our laptops to connect into PLCs and other devices. We had to hack our laptops to get them functional again, just to do our jobs.
I wouldn't trust those morons with a remote wipe for my phone, no matter how deeply it's buried.
If we could get past the 'whys' and the 'why nots' and get to a solution on this, maybe this thread would useful.

I can't agree with you more. However, as solution (for only email) I found MailDroid on the play store to be quite awesome, no need for stupid IT policies.
Any news about this. It's even worse. I contacted our system administrator and he also allows AllowNonProvisionalDevices. But the google app just tells exchange it's a provisional device and thus requires me to accept something I don't want to accept. It should make itself known as NONProvisionalDevice when you don't agree to the policy...
Company has disabled Activesync
this means that i cannot use any of the native apps or the ones downloadable via Play.
I am looking to be able to use the native app on my SGT 3 as the one provided only works with the SGS4 (touchdownHD) and it is S%^T.
I have tried all manner of different apps to no avail.
the SGT3 should run on similar software yet it doesn't even let me use the corporate provided download. it only works on the SGS4.
And to make matters worse I work for a large IT Multi-National company that probably created this app:crying::crying::crying:

This. My company contracted with Total Computer Solutions and they managed to accidentally wipe my phone twice while moving us to a new email server. My company simply requires me to have a phone to that can access email and in exchange, I can expense my phone bill; they don't care about security compliance, TCS just used the default settings for the exchange server.
I hate when technical questions become moral judgment threads. If you don't know how to do this or wish to withhold the information on moral grounds, simply do not post.

From the EAC while viewing a user mailbox's settings, it takes 3 clicks.
View Details
Wipe Device (button appears next to each device in the list of all devices that have ever connected to this mailbox).
Save (both space bar and enter also register as an affirmative on this dialog)
My phone (which is in fact mine wholely and solely) has been wiped twice by accident. Once because a tech was just fooling around looking at what devices we were all using and managed while using keyboard shotcuts. Tabbed his way to the button and hit enter instead of going to the next user. The second time they intended to wipe the device of the person above me alphabetically because they were going to fire her that morning.

Donation thread for AmniX (Developer of Xperia Roms)

Most of you all know that our beloved Amnix or Aman (developer of Xperia roms), does not have his Note working. It fell into water & motherboard needs to be replaced (CPU+GPU etc.), which they are quoting 16000 INR (~295 USD). As per Aman's financial conditions, he is unable to afford that. He somehow managed to build a Rom without device & tested in his friend's Note. So, finally he agreed for creating a Paypal donation account & he is now temporarily using his close friend's Paypal account till he gets his own (will get it within 10-15 days after receiving PAN number). So, whoever loved Aman's Roms or want to appreciate his work by a donation, please do so.
Since, Indians cannot donate to another Indian through Paypal, they will have to transfer the donation amount to his Bank account directly. So, anyone from India who wants to Donate can contact Aman/AmniX for the Bank details. Others can donate to his Paypal account [email protected].
If we can manage to get his Note repaired, you can expect many more Xperia roms or he may not be able to cook any more roms, as he cannot afford the repair cost/buy a new Note at least till he gets a good job.
P.S.:
1) DONATION IS NOT MANDATORY. IT IS UPTO YOU, IF YOU WANT TO DONATE OR NOT

Hmmm..this thread was posted couple of weeks ago by AmniX & removed by mods. Now I again I posted after consulting with mod
We want Aman to continue "Amnix" ROMs. He is the only one who is doing fully experia like ROM, He can't do it without his device. I support this donation thread. He is not asked for any donations. Amnix ROM users want him to work for amnix ROM. We are the one who requested him to start a donation thread. If a dev need any kind of support we can do it within our limits, All of the devs in Xda giving their precious time and effort for the users. We respect it.
Hi Guys, I also want Amnix to keep development on & he is just a higher secondary school student & not earning, but doing a excellent work by making these awesome roms. I have already donated & done my part. Request all others who like his work 2start the donation of whatever amount possible. Good Luck Amnix.
I respect the forum rules & if they allow may be we can continue this thread.

Windows 10 Pro reinstall activation

Hello everyone,
kind of new around here, but hopefully will get the hang of the forums pretty soon.
I'm currently looking to upgrade a few PCs from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro. I know I can upgrade "in place" (install Win 10 "on top" of Win 7), but since it's also time for Hardware upgrades, I might as well do a fresh install.
My question is, when I buy the Win 10 Pro license keys, will I be able to reinstall in the future with said keys?
I know you can also use a microsoft account to register Win 10 Pro automatically, but can you "store" more tan one license key in a microsoft account?
Any help is appreciated.

insofar as your first question, yes. Windows will notice certain hardware changes and prompt you to activate windows and it will say that your serial is already in use, at which point when i was personally doing this, i had to call MSFT and have a lil chat with one of their representatives and give them the serial numbers off the products i had removed from the rig i was repairing. The fella gave me a new activation code and its been gucci ever since.
to your second question, im not sure if you can store more than one activation code or not, but a logical case can be made to support either side of that debate. Anyways, i cant help ya on that one. cheers mate
