Charge optimisation isn't new. I can't remember which update brought it but it's not new to 32.4.A.1.54 in general. Different customisations may differ though.

Wow! This is good! I got it right now!
I usually waited for 1 month...
Let's hope this update is good and brings optimization to the phone. Charge optimization is from 7.0 as I recall...

Hello,
call history is less laggy for me.
First opening keyboard in Sony SMS more speed.

This will at least fix the blueborn vulnerability - which means the phone is finally usable again (using stock firmware).

Swapping between the default theme works fine for me. I don't have any custom ones though. Dark is fine.

HI what kernel do you use? Sorry another question what is single. Img.?

I am currently on Nougat .160 and rooted, will it delete the root if I ilugrade to .54?

So far, the only change I noticed so far is that theming mechanism does not recognize any of Xperia Loops theme. This is beyond petty, Sony. If anyone knows how to go around it, let me know. I loved it. Lets hope this is the only downside, this may well be the last non-security update.
Edit: it seems that you can still set the live wallpaper via 'Wallpaper' menu, but not through 'Themes'. Interesting.

I understand this is an FTF and should be flashed with Flashtool. Is there any way to package this up to flash it through TWRP? I used your previous guide to flash rooted 32.4.A.0.160 and I'm wondering if there's an easier way to update to 32.4.A.1.54 without having to reflash the whole firmware.

Stock kernel.
Single means e6603 & e6653. Dual means e6633 & e6683.

No way to create an update package from signed OTA package. I dont know what was changed so I cant create from FTF too.
You have to flash FTF. If you want to only update. DO NOT select any wipe options. Device will be updated, but root will gone. You have to flash patched kernel and root.

Api 25?

After the last update, battery is as bad as it was. No fix for that I guess.

[DEV][Thinktank]Root 23.0.1.A.0.167 FW on Sony Xperia™ Z2? (Android 4.4.4)

Today, the long-awaited update Android 4.4.4 for Sony Xperia™ Z2 is released.
Rejoice!
But, installing this update will overrun the root access. Root access will be gone. So, how to root 23.0.1.A.0.167 FW on Sony Xperia™ Z2?
I'm gonna try the same old "Easy Root Tool" and see what happens. Any ideas would be good!
-EDIT-
Do you want to update your Sony Xperia™ Z2 to 4.4.4 but don't want to lose root? Don't worry, you won't! Click "here"
Credits to @niaboc79
Also, thanks to @funky0308 and @Envious_Data for their work
-EDIT 2-
I got root on 4.4.4 on my own, using this guide, credits @norti
@niaboc79 's pre-rooted ROM was based on Generic RU and the NC feature wasn't working on it. So I wanted to download a brand new FTF with my customization number and followed the steps on the guide.
ZBAM!
Got my own .167 (4.4.4) ROM (Generic DE) with root on my Sony Xperia™ Z2.
we will find a way...
but you should definitely put question mark in title...
we are lucky to have older fw (I'm talking for LB, z3 can't be downgrade and they will have problems to root 4.4.4. I believe we could use older fw to root fw and to upgrade keeping root...
I'll upgrade later today and will try few things...
In the title a statement and not a question !! WTF
I thought u achieved root, wtf

I doubt...
Sony patched all those security holes and all those methods should be updated.
Of course, someone should try...
Can anyone confirm he upgraded D6503 to 4.4.4?
Wouldn't downloading the update through PC companion and making an ftf/downloading an ftf and then pre-rooting the firmware work? We have recovery for the phone so a pre-rooted flashable firmware should work without working exploits right?

In 30 minutes, I will. The update is downloading now. It's around 1.2GB.
Mod edit
As a few members noticed, the thread title was a little misleading, as it seemed like there already was a way to root the new firmware.
I changed the thread title to one that shouldn't mislead people.
OP, if you have any problems with this, or prefer a different title, please send me a private message or quote this reply.

4.4.4 for D6503 isn't out yet.
Don't bother to download that, it'll say it's 167 but you'll download 314 and flashing will stop immediately after downloading fw.

I didn't actually read any of the other replies to the thread. Mainly cause the main post was all about how could we root it.
It is possible to install the lockeddualrecovery from NUT? If yes we can use it for root

i guess this will be the option for now. Root .314 firmware, backup TA then flash 4.4.4 ftf. Plug the device to flashtool and unlock the BL, install Doomkernel (for recovery), flash supersu.zip, plug phone again to flashtool reflash stock kernel, boot the phone and it should be rooted then restore TA Backup.

You wouldn't even need to do that.
1) Root .314 firmware.
2) Install locked bootloader recovery.
3) Make a pre-rooted firmware of the 4.4.4 build.
4) Install the firmware through recovery.

Is it for the D6502 or D6503? If I was able to update my D6503 to 4.4.4 I would have done it but I have been plagued with the same problem as all the other D6503 owners. I'm just going to wait for a UK unbranded pre-rooted firmware (or a UK unbranded ftf, whatever comes first).

This Problem was related to the Play Services under MM and not to the Android System itself, but it was solved a few months ago.
If you want the Maximum out of your battery, use AndroKernel and underclock your device. I make it to two full days now with all eight cores limited to 1,2Ghz which is enough for 90% of everything.

May I know what version of SuperSU you've installed? Reason for asking: I'm on the latest stable (systemless) 2.65 generally working fine, yet at times experience some strange behaviour (e.g. list of Apps with granted root is empty, no logs.).
Is this available on ota for the z3+?
Or via companion?

Would it matter if I flash a customized US over an existing customized DE firmware? I guess it's better to not take the risk of hitting any issues later on.

I flashed the customized CE1 over Customized FR for the .185 firmware keeping my existing userdata with a SGP771 without any problems.
Just got this OTA update.
Stamina mode is back, but it only has 3 settings , Auto start at 15%, Always and Never.
Same on my LTE Z4 tablet. I´m a bit confused about that.

Here you go:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-RIeaM9FQoMd05MU3VUeHEzRzA
It's stock kernel from E5823_32.2.A.5.11_1299-1063_R10C.ftf, repacked with http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
dm-verity and Sony RIC disabled, includes TWRP and DRM fix but no busybox, SuperSU or xposed. These you have to flash by your own through TWRP.
let me know if it worked for you too.

I'm coming from stock 305 with xposed and Xpower kernel.
I flashed the 5.11 firmware via flashtool (without ticking any wipe from ftf), just after I flashed your kernel and reboot (optimisation) than I rebooted to TWRP, I flashed SR5-SuperSU-v2.78 + xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64 et voilà
All is working like a charm and I have lost nothing from 305 :good:
Same here. Used:
xperifirm downloader
created ftf with flashtool
loaded ftf with flashtool
loaded androplus (41) with fastboot
and supersu with twrp.
Did the same as ric69. worked! nothing lost from 305.
Can the NFC icon in the status bar be cleared in this newest version? From what I've seen, they taken out that option from .305..

All OK here, NFC was off before the upgrade and isn't there in the status bar after. Have you tried adding the setting to the status drop down bar options and turning it off there? NFC for me is still in the wireless and networks setting under the more option.
