Is there a stock rom Nougat for Asian XT1572? - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I found it but failed to get a Nougat stock rom for Asian version of XT1572. Any source available for that?

did u find a nougat firmware for asian retail dual sim xt1572?

Not yet at the moment, only the Latin versions

Following. I would love to find an upgrade for the XT1570, China model. My wife and I have US Pure Editions and we purchased her mom (she's Chinese living in China) an XT1570 because we loved ours. Now we are way ahead of hers as far as software and Moto China is useless about upgrading software. Unfortunately, since its my mother in law's phone, I cant just "play" with the phone to see what works and even if I could, I live in the US so I couldn't test it to verify it still worked with China Mobile. If you find one, please update this thread, may see if it'll work. Thanks!

Firmware for Chine doesn't work in another country. Flashing another can be illegal in China(other LTE bands, play store etc.).
Here you can find all firmwares for MXP/S:

China firmware actually does work here in the US even LTE, but I'm not concerned about that since the phone will be used in China except for when she comes here to visit, at which time she has an AT&T sim for my account that she uses while she's here. Also, flashing is not illegal in China, but Google apps and such will not work, hence not allowed. I am not looking for a Google based OS, I would just like to be able to update her phone when she comes back this next spring since Moto in China doesn't update like they do in other countries. I've seen a few others asking about the same thing in other places and was just hoping to see a China based Nougat show up sometime, even though I know the demand is pretty darn low for it on here, lol. It would probably be some work to do it though since Google services would have to omitted and someone would have to pull the China based apps (Baidu, and such) and put them in there instead or make them a separate flashable package. I think the toughest part could be the radios because although her phone works over here, my US based phone is pretty spotty over there due to them having a totally different LTE network on China Mobile. As many brilliant gurus as I've seen on here over the years I figured it was worth a shot.

I think the best idea is buying another phone for using in US.
If you flash any RetUS rom you can't flash back China rom and Lte will work only in US.
Maybe go to Google+ and look for xt1570 users? @texascowboy

This is correct, its a JB update but the base firmware is not there to be downloaded. Maybe it can be searched for with CheckFus but i dont know the Product code for Phillipines. Maybe someone else knows.
Also, it's a leak, not an official OTA.
yep,just noticed that.
I flashed the base firmware: N8000XWALH1,

Probably doesn't matter if he flashes that firmware. Its just some carrier specific apps and maybe a Globe bootanimation. Have them all downloaded shop I was going to try it but the error that seems to be present when flashing ota changed my mind.

Excuse my ignorance guys, but what's the difference between the three variations of the Note 10.1? N8000 (WiFi + 3G), N8010 (WiFi, Global Model?) and N8013( Wifi, US Model?)
Are the firmwares cross compatible?
I'm new to the Galaxy Note and just trying to figure things out.

N8000 - 3g + Wifi
N8010 - international wifi
N8013 - American/Canada wifi seem to have limitations on what the international models can do.
There are probably other variations too, I believe there's another for another country but can't remember what. Some will have carrier specific additions to the roms unless locked to network and aren't flashable until carrier unlocked.
If they are like other Samsung models then no, I wouldn't try to flash firmware not for your model. These new toys are too expensive to break on that little experiment...

Thanks for the reply. Now I'm wondering if theres a significant difference between the wifi only models.
Ive noticed a lot of the leaked/updated firmware popping up is for the international models. Sorta frustrating that the US variants of phones/tablets ialways last.
I kind of got my fix by trying out the initial leak of JB with Note 2.0 goodies. Was fun but obviously a ways from done.
For me, the most interesting thing in the leak were the Note 2.0 goodies. I was hoping JB would turn my tablet into a speed freak but honestly, didn't notice any real improvement. Obviously that could be because it was a pre-alpha type release and nowhere close to optimized.
since i have the n8013 does this mean i can't connect to any of the wifi when i travel to europe?
Is this newer than the India leak? Perhaps the base from that one would work for this too, since the base is 4.0.4, anyway.

It will work fine. The Wi-FI module's multi-frequency.

Chinese version does not support Google Play as of version B115

So I want to kind of start this discussion and work on a fix. Ideally a fix without root, if it's possible.
According to the Chinese forums, the Chinese version (which I'm getting because I want 128GB of storage) has been altered as of version B115 to not include the necessary GMS framework to allow installation of google services, play store, and so on.
Previous versions (some Chinese models shipped with B109) included the ability to load Google Services.
The first step in fixing this for people whose phones ship with more recent firmware is to find a full package of B109. The only other option will be bootloader unlock and flashing of either international firmware or google play services after unlocking the bootloader.
My phone will arrive here in Japan tomorrow, so I will work on reverse engineering the update server like I did with Mate 8, and keep everyone up to date with any progress. Does anyone else have plans to buy the Chinese version? Please feel free to chime in!
UPDATE!!
As of December, Huawei has released a package to install google services on the Mate 9. Simply search the HiApp store for GMS and get the first result.
Couldn't just install a international from through the update?
So your saying if I purchase this from a Chinese online mobile store I wont be able to get google play store on it im in need of a new phone so bad and wanted this

You will be able to get Google Play store on it IF your phone ships with version B109 or earlier. Apparently this is rare. Otherwise, you will not be able to without unlocking your bootloader, at this time. My phone is supposed to arrive today, so I will be a guinea pig and figure out what needs to be done, as obviously it's useless to me without Google Play.
I have bought Chinese huawei mate 9 too. And it doesn't have google. If anyone knows the solution please help

Good! We work together again, like the old days!
Do you have the international one now? Can you use wireshark and find out the http query from eRecovery to get the location to the latest firmware?
For example, you can get latest Mate 8 AL10 firmware like this:
Code:
curl -d '{"rules":{"D_version":"","DeviceName":"HUAWEI NXT-AL10","saleinfo":"||||||||N","IMEI":"","FingerPrint":"","FirmWare":"HUAWEI NXT-AL10-all-cn","IMSI":"","C_version":"","OS":"","HotaVersion":"e.0.1","Language":"","devicetoken":"","PackageType":"full"}}' http://query.hicloud.com:80/sp_ard_common/v2/Check.action?latest=True

Now this is very confusing. I ordered the 4/64GB version from aliexpress. All of the descriptions (of all sellers) on ali clearly highlights all the network features and bands that are only supported by the european model of Mate9, called "MHA-L29". Huawei's official specs clearly say MHA-L29 is dual-sim supported and MHA-L09 (=chinese version) is not.
I asked the seller and after 3-4 questions he finally replied it's the chinese version (of course) but tried to convince me that it will work with google play because every huawei phone they sell can work with play.
I can't risk it to have a phone that I have to mod to use play, and I can't expect the firmware updates easily without any problem/risk.
I cancelled the order, asked a few other sellers they all have the chinese version. It seems I can't get the european version with a lower price I have to wait till the phone launches here, and it will be much more expensive.
What is your opinion how difficult will it be to update the firmware with sufficient google services by tricks on the chinese models? Would you recommend it to a noob like me(I unlocked bootloaders and stuff but I can only follow specific directions) to have the chinese model backed by a worthless warranty?

I think it will be possible to do with specific directions, probably within a month -- hopefully sooner. I also think it's possible that Huawei re-introduces the ability to install Google services into a future update, because the outcry from the Chinese community is huge.
Once I find the way to do it, I will make as easy-to-follow guide as I can, but I can't promise anything! It might be very difficult if it's too different from the Mate 8.
My advice to you is to wait until a solution has been found before buying the Chinese version.

Thanks, I'm gonna wait a little more then. I cancelled my order before shipment so they must refund me without any problem. There will be a 130-150 USD difference comparing the chinese version to prices in my country. I'm hesitating to either wait for this phone or buy the OnePlus 3T on the 28th of november, but I really like the Mate9.
A best solution could be to completely trasform chinese into european. With european rom, european modem and other features like sar reduction : do you remember that mate 8 EU had a string "sar reduction yes" that in chinese there wasn't?
Do you think that is possibile to convert At 100% chinese in european? (with unlock bootloader)
We can work At this?

Customs delayed my phone's delivery to Monday, so I can't really say without looking at how it works, but I don't see any reason it wouldn't be possible to convert the Chinese version to the european one as long as we have an unlocked bootloader or root.

H990DS(TWN) - Upgrade/Refurbish to other Regional ROM version

Good day to all.
I recently bought a V20, a Taiwan version H990DS, so with a TWN ROM. The latest TWN ROM is from last year. Is it possible to flash to the newer Singapore ROM? (SEA)
Like this one : H990ds10e_00_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_0314.kdz (10 april 2017)
I now have :
BASEBAND : MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00027-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.77269.3.79643.3
KERNEL : 3.18.31
BUILD NUMBER : NRD90M
SOFTWARE VERSION : V10c-TWN-XX
MODEL NUMBER : LG-H990ds
I have experience with flasing rom's, but only at Samsung devices. LG is new for me. But I have read the threads around here how to flash a new ROM.
I hope somebody can give me a answer to my question. Thanks in advance!
Greetings from The Netherlands
Hello
someone actually managed to do it, so it seems doable, and fairly easy I'd say.
I was tempted to do it myself, and still am, but then I was just hoping LG would come around with a new update to avoid me all this nuisance...

Hi @buongu
It is just one person who switched his ROM, (@Mattfly93)
On Samsung devices, like the S7, it was a piece of cake switching ROM with ODIN. The risk was very minimal.
I wonder how high the risk is switching ROM with the LG V20 H990DS using LGUP.
there were others too, a guy here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/help/australian-f-h990ds-t3551066) tried out different ROMs to find better suiting apn settings; other guys too, actually a lot of people with the H990DS seems to be into this subject

Yes I'm definitely considering a change. Mainly because they keep receiving updates, I don't know the details, but it seems like there have been a few improvements in the audio compartment as well (which is what I care most about), practically every version had them expect for the h990ds twn. SEA seems to be the one getting updates on a regular basis, so that's the one I'm looking at
there shouldn't be any real difference, same apps, same sw release, just a few fixes ahead so hopefully less glitches.

I don't enjoy this kind of tweaking anymore
I used to, when updates were scarce and custom ROMs were pretty much the only way to prolong a smartphone's life... but nowadays companies promise a 2 year support for all their devices, so why do we still need to put up with boring and elaborate actions like this?
and there's a chance we won't see any future OTA either, judging from the info I have found it will still be recognized by your software as from TWN, but the update won't match any of the ones for TWN or the ones for SEA, so from that moment on manual updating is all you have... and THAT pisses me off

I can understand your feelings about this and to be honest, I share them. I am not afraid of switching ROM from TWN to SEA, i think that will go without any problem. But after that it is manual updating, that is something I did not realised. I have to think about this, but the chance I will manually update is big. The updated software and, most important, the security updates can not be ignored. We will keep in touch. Thanks for your opinion.
I would like to know if I can safely use the 'Refurbish' option in the LGUP tool for changing my TWN(Taiwan) Rom to SEA(Singapore) Rom?
Or do I have to use the 'Upgrade' option?
I am currently on the India ROM, which was last updated in January. Also seriously thinking of switching to the SEA ROM. My only concern is if VoLTE will work on it -- currently, I use a Jio 4G SIM. Does anyone know if SEA will support it?
I also have a S7 Edge, and when I changed ROMs on it (from India to UK ROM), VoLTE stopped working. I had to flash back the INS ROM to get it to work again. Does the same happen with LG ROMs? That is, are regional variants of LG ROMs unique?

All you need is in the 1st post of this thread. Good luck and let us know.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/v20-kdz-restore-failing-9-completing-fix-t3546817
I took the plunge and it did not go off well! A few observations.
1] I was trying to switch from INS to SEA. Refurbish option did not work -- throws up errors when installation reaches 4 per cent.
2] Upgrade option went off without errors but I ended up with cust id mismatch error after reboot. I think Upgrade leaves a few files behind that are related to firmware region. However, you can dismiss these warnings and use the phone. I also ended up with device failed to decrypt error, but that was sorted with a factory reset.
3] VoLTE (from Jio in India) does not work on the SEA firmware.
4] The SEA firmware felt smoother and more responsive than INS one from January. I also see a few SG specific apps.
5] Have now restored back to the INS firmware by downloading the appropriate KDZ file.
6] Now hoping LG wakes up soon and ports the SEA update to other regions!
Thankfully, the LGUP tool is pretty reliable, and if you are used to ODIN, you will be at home here. I would suggest you go ahead and check it out. Maybe it will work for your region...
I just did the same from TWN to SEA, and surprisingly VoLTE is there!
I see it in the shortcuts, I have no use for it because neither of my carriers support it, but it's there

That's interesting. I did not have this option on SEA. I guess it is carrier specific. From my experience with Samsung S7 Edge, relevant carrier strings had to be present in the CSC file/ folder for VoLTE to work.
If root was available for our device, then perhaps this issue can be fixed.

For India, the latest update listed on that site is from April 1. But I don't see it in the downloads section. Does it take over a month for the firmware to be actually available?!
Does any of these dual sim firmware enable band 66?

After Nougat update with Polish PLAY operator no International roaming

Hi guys,
I (we) desperately need help. Myself and a number of other Moto X Style are crying out loud for help on getting our roaming issue fixed. Long story short:
I have a Motorola X Style (all original, no mods), after the upgrade to Nougat International roaming stopped working (it was working on 6.0). Or better, international roaming does not work with a SIM from a Polish operator named PLAY. Funny enough the same SIM in another phone roams internationally fine and a SIM from another operator in the Moto X roams fine too. It seems to be a sick combination of Moto X Android 7.0 and PLAY. I (we) have tried everything, theres a thread on the official Motorola forum if you dare to read ( I cannot post the link because I'm new, but a search for "Moto X Roaming not working Polish Play" will give you a link). And when I say everything I really mean it... Starting from Clear the Cache to Factory Reset, and the obvious/trivial things too like "enable data while roaming" etc... According to the PLAY provider all is OK on their side and Motorola is ignoring the issue... Its 8 months that their "engineers" are allegedly looking into it, and that it will be "hopefully resolved in future updates" .... yeahhh believe it... Solution from Motorola: "send the phone in for a downgrade to 6.0". Many of us, me included, are locked into a # of years contract with PLAY so it is not that easy to dump the operator and go with someone else. That's why someone with a real deep knowledge on how this stuff work is needed. The last thing to add is that PLAY operator is one of the few that uses national roaming too to fill in the gaps on their national coverage, needless to say that national roaming works fine.
Any help will be really appreciated ... best regards Fulvio.
There's not much we can do about it. Editing the stock modem is nearly impossible.
Best you can do right now is flash Nougat Custom ROMs that are based on Marshmallow modem (Official LineageOS), In this way you'll get the Nougat features on Marshmallow base.
or.. try flashing other variants nougat modem RETUS, RETLA (this is not recommended and has a high risk)

RetLA & RetUS will not work in Europe, RetAsia has the same baseband.
I think @fulvy70 has locked bootloader so he can't flash anythng.

Yes of course he has to unlock first and if the device is out of warranty, I don't see any harm in doing it.
Me to.
Someone here uses MM when he's on travels and Nougat at home.
Because...
Delta app doesn't work good on Nougat.
Hi,
Thank you for your answers... I understand that you are all pinpointing the issue in the Modem/Radio Firmware, not the Android OS itself ... this is already a step forward... I understand the risks connected with flashing a different Modem/Radio FW but anyhow is something to know ... I believe it is also something to consider if eventually any custom ROM will be compatible with the new modems/radios ... at that point even changing the ROM to custom will not solve the issue I believe...
Regards Fulvio.
Flashing custom rom doesn't change the modem/radio/baseband.
I don't know where is problem - only Play(Poland) doesn't support LTE roaming.
You can flash any custom for N modem and check it. @fulvy70

So far, from what's been reported, Brazil, Russia, and Europe have all started receiving the Android 10 OTA for the G7....
I'm in the U.S, (which sucks because we're usually the last of the bunch to get Moto OTA's).. Nothing here yet...
From what I've heard, it should be here sometime between now and mid-July...
I'm a noob when it comes to android roleouts. Just got my G7 4/64 river. It's sitting at Pie w/ April 2020 Sec. Updates.
I am dying to unloc and root with the latest TWRP and Magisk.
My phone is a XT-1965-6 'International' Dual SIM...Lang is English and my location is Eastern US, if it matters.
Will unlocking and rooting bork my ota Security Updates? If so, can I just say screw it and flash the latest '10' ROM
and do manual security updates as they come?
Also....I use TracFone 'bring your own phone' and my SIM is still in my Moto G5+...btw TF uses AT&T in my regeon.
SO...Do I need to contact TF and req. a SIM just for my new G7 or can I just pop it in and go?
Sorry for any noob-ish questions...ya gotta start somewhere!
my new G7 or can I just swap it over?
SIM swapped ok...next is unlocking the bootloader...fingers crossed! Do I want the matching 'retin' Stock ROM or should I use the 'retail' for the XT-1962-6 'International' version? What's the diff between 'retin' and just 'retail' ?

Be careful flashing stock ROMs. You want to always be sure to be using the same stock ROM that came with your phone.
(I think IN is a country code, not International...I could be wrong tho.)
Best of luck. Always make backups! Any good ROM dev puts that as one of the first steps...listen because they are wise!

BOOOOOOO motorola. C'mon...just c'm the heck-on with it already. I guess if I do update to another G series, (tiny tiny chance) I'll be sure to get the cheaper variant models, like the Play or Plus or Platinum or Super Awesome..-wtheck ever moto wants to call it-since they come ahead in line with updates.

Yeah...RETIN = Retail India
I'll be using an exact bld. #s matching signed stock ROM ofc. I've recently unlocked my Moto G5+ and with the gracious assistance of a kind soul, I was able to get TWRP flashed, followed by a flash of the latest Majisk...ofc there's a few steps in between. Afaik and been told, rooting of the G5+ is pretty similar to the G7...the biggest differences being the the G7 is a 64bit and also handles the default encryption a little differently. That being said, I'm gonna make/keep a thread as I work thru the process of making a basic outline of the steps...then with the help of knowledgeable members and staff, go thru and fill in the exact details for each step...fingers crossed !!

I do believe that's mostly correct, because the partitions seem to be roughly the same BUT, theres a post under the G7 category that is titled something like "TWRP for moto g7"
If the G5 also has a/b slots then yes, you should be fine however I'd still look for the correct TWRP feed to ensure that you are using the correct one for this dev. One of these posts about a custom ROM had included a version of copy-partitions zip called copy-partitions-payton zip, DO NOT USE this one. This device is river, not payton, so when I was using that on my previous device, also a G7, it missed partitions during my backup that later proved to be a headache. If you need a link to follow for either unofficial TWRP or the correct copy-partitions, let me know. Goodluck!
I have updated my G7 to Android 10 (RETUS)
I feel like G7 is reborn after update.
It's full ROM update through LMSA and wiped everything to avoid any possible problem.
True dark theme for all applicable apps
Cam has improvement and it has much less noise
Dolby Audio can be disabled with USB C digital headphones and audio is great
Screen color temperature turned slightly blue-green (it was reddish tone)
You may notice a brief screen flash when it turns the clock off
18 watts USB PD charging stays unchanged
So far I am pretty happy with Android 10 update
