ZMAX Pro locked to Family Mobile - ZTE Zmax Pro Questions & Answers

I bought this phone and I love it. The carrier lock is a pita but I think I can get along with t-mobile. My question is can I use any t-moble mvno or am I locked to Family Mobile?

[Q] Droid Pro on Tmobile or AT&T in the USA

i have been reading and searching for over an hour now here and on several pages and do not seem to find any answer froma real proffessional.
why i cant get signal after i insterted my Tmobile Sim card in my unlocked droid pro verizon ? i even tried and insterted my co worker AT&T sim card, same results, NO NETWORK FOUND.
Verizon told Motorola to block GSM networks inside the US. There is nothing wrong with your phone, but right now AT&T isn't going to work.
Check out the Droid 2 Global forums for more info. I believe folks over there are working on a solution.
Have you had the GSM antennas unlocked? When I bought my Pro I was told that in order to actually use it in Global mode (and use the GSM antenna) you have to either take it to a verizon store or call a number for them to unlock it. The GSM antenna is disabled by default.

The GSM antenna is not locked by default, but the SIM card slot is. If you wanted to take the phone to Europe and buy a pre-paid SIM to use over there (instead of Verizon's SIM) then yes, you must unlock the phone.
However, entering the SIM unlock code will not help you connect to AT&T or T-Mobile, because Verizon blocked it on the radio level.
GSM antenna unlocked?
i am not trying to be Jerk, but i have been in the cell phone repair business since 2003, and never heard of that term, is that a new term?

that's what i was told by a sales rep at the verizon store, so it came from a totally reliable source.
maybe I just got confused as to which was locked (sim card vs antenna)

The sales rep is a retard. Lmao.
Man, if the unlock has truly been discovered, it's going to be real tempting not to switch over to T-Mobile if Sprint lets me out of contract. I use my Droid Pro strictly as a travel phone, but if I can use it at home, too, I'd love to.
Unlocked Droid Pro for USA GSM!
This other guy on androidforums came across an unlocked DroidPro that worked with his T-Mobile Sim Card for a while until he decided to update the phone and ended up blocking his T-Mobile sim card in the end...
I kind of hope there are some other phones like that out there so I can get my hands on one of them and figure out where to look for that piece of code that blocks the phones ability to use T-mobile/AT&T networks.
I use my droid pro overseas, but travel to the us two or three times a month. It sucks to have a global phone that i can use everywhere (roaming) but not in the US. A verizon plan is simply too expensive to afford to use 4 days a month.
I would be willing to pay, donate, contribute to find a way to activate the droid pro on a prepaid at&t plan. Or even an affordable verizon daily prepaid plan. Any ideas?

You could have it flashed to Page Plus. They operate on the Verizon network.
anyone know if it's successfully been done? Have an XPRT and we might be migrating from Sprint to Tmob. Would love to keep using the XPRT as backup phone or primary if it takes a while to get my hands on Milestone 3.
It won't work on T-Mobile 3G, and I don't know if this works for the XPRT, but the Pro unlock has been released.

well that's a waste. Too many damn gsm bands. Thanks for the link. Might do it anyway. If I end up selling it, it'll be more valuable if it can be used on AT&T. Think getting GSM phones from Bell Canada is the way to go for Tmob phones. Think the Milestone 3 will be in my future if we do the switch.

ebay is showing this model h631

says its for family mobile is that same as metro model spec wise? and can it use roms for metro?
I believe that is the Tmo version. The t-mobile and Metro version are the same.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G-STYLO-...746546?hash=item33ae02bab2:g:8l4AAOSwZ1lWcs1Z curious if its LOCKED to tmobile or i can activate it on Metro
Why not just get one that's made for metro pcs?

Curious how this went with you.... I currently have an H631 that is locked to t-mobile; when I go to carrier unlock it with the app, it always fails. Have even tried a couple of services but without success (even got my money back on one of the tries !) I have been able to unlock two other t-mobile g stylos and they have been working fine on at&t, but can't seem to get this other one unlocked....

Help with s7 edge carrier

Hi guys,
I live in New York and I'm using Cricket wireless services (they are using AT&T's antennas),
I want to buy the s7 edge but its lock for the "big" carriers: verizon, at&t and sprint.
Is there any way that I can buy the phone unlocked from somewhere, or buy the phone from one of the carriers and unlock it so I can use it with Cricket?
Thank you!
You can buy it from AT&T or T-Mobile and unlock it we can confirm that as we've unlocked many for customers to use on other networks
but if you want to just buy it unlocked maybe check online you can buy a factory unlocked version online or at the samsung store

Thank you, how do I unlock it if I buy it from them?

I bought a LOCKED Sprint S7 Edge on eBay (they don't blacklist locked devices)...... I paid $6 thru eBay remote unlock service and the device has worked like a charm for three past 8-9 months.
Unlocked on eBay are usually a little cheaper.... if sellers account/device is paid up then all you'll need to do is put in new carrier SIM to unlock. (Mine wouldn't work so I ordered that remote unlocking service.... guy was amazingly fast, professional and very helpful.
Good luck!

Unlocked HTC 10 Converted To VZW with Verizon MVNO's

Hello everyone,
For those who have converted their unlocked HTC 10 to Verizon, I need someone to test a Verizon MVNO Such as Straight talk, Total Wireless, Red Pocket, Page Plus, etc. Need to know if any Verizon MVNO works on unlocked model before I buy this phone. Dying to buy this phone, but this is holding me back.

Think he is asking for someone who has flashed the vzw ruu to try it.

This is obvious, not looking for GSM Based MVNO feedback,
Let me re-phrase the question:
VERIZON CDMA MVNO'S ONLY and someone that can actually confirm that a verzion mvno is working in their converted unlocked HTC 10
I have my S-off unlocked, unlocked 10 with the Verizon radio flashed to it on Verizon prepaid which if you can use it on Verizon prepaid then you can use it on any Verizon mvno. But as they listed for post paid you need to activate your sim in another phone then put that sim in your unlocked 10. Mine was previously used by my unlocked Motorola nexus 6 and with my unlocked 10 on my Verizon prepaid account when I log in to my Verizon it still shows my device as a non Verizon nexus 6, but my unlocked HTC 10 works just fine. Just realize volte will not work because prepaid Verizon mvnos do not get to use volte as of yet. Also I had to turn my WiFi calling off as it would not work. I am running viper10 1.2.1 and it works great. They just got android pay working too.

Error on HTC's part. There are 4 "variants" of Straight Talk, each runs on one of the big carriers. Straight Talk AT&T and Straight Talk T-Mobile can use the unlocked version out of the box. Straight Talk Verizon will have to do the same thing Verizon-proper customers have to do to use the unlocked model (flash VZW modem, use an already-activated SIM, etc). Straight Talk Sprint won't be able to use the unlocked model due to it lacking the Sprint LTE bands and most likely not being on Sprint's device whitelist.

Will my MetroPCS zmax pro work on other providers without being unlocked? For example will it work on T-Mobile, simple Mobile, straight talk etc?

ZTE has said that it is at MetroPCS discretion based on request for the update so until MetroPCS decides that they want to ask for an update ZTE has said there is nothing they can do so if you can get your phone to work on another carrier unlocked then by all means I would do it
I have a Zmax pro in T-mobile

Must have been unlocked,I was told it was 3 month wait from purchase date before it could be unlocked .
Just unlocked mine from metro PCS to Cricket .Only issue thus far is visual voicemail .
Just wanted to confirm that the Metro version of this phone does need an unlock to work on T-Mobile. But Metro will give you the PIN if you qualify, even after you leave them
Hi everybody.
Sorry for the resurrect.
I got this phone "unlocked', shows another carrier but I can't make calls.
It says mobile network not available.
Any tips are highly appreciated.
