Remove EMUI - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

Hello, im a fan of a clean stock android with no modifications. This EMUI is driving me crazy, many apps don't work the way they should. Lockscreen is a disaster. Also i don't like the look and feel from Emui it remembsers me to iOS when you go under settings. Why must everyone try to copycat iOS.
In short. I found no custom ROM's. Is it possible to remove EMUI? Otherwise the device is useless for me.

I also hate EMUI. Install Nova Launcher and set it the way you like. My phone is a Google Nexus. With Nova Launcher, the tablet looks and acts almost exactly like my phone. I am so satisfied that that I bought the prime version.

Is the Touchwiz integration to Vanilla Android as deep as Sense?

I know this is a question but there is no Vibrant Q&A forum so i decided to post it here.
But to elaborate on my question, Sense has a deep integration with the vanilla android system, the framework is heavily modified and its hard and some say impossible to use a lot of things from sense on non-sense roms. So I was wondering, is touchwiz integrated that deeply over android? I heard the 2.2 Update to this phone would make it easier for samsung to make updates so I dont think it is as deep as sense, but I wanna know for sure because i think itd be cool if we could mix certain aspects of vanilla with touchwiz. Like if we could remove the bottom 4 shortcut apps, add a vanilla lockscreen, vanilla music widget and app, but still maintain the functionality of touchwiz such as the notification pull down with the integrated settings toggle and music controls.
Opinions?
This one might be easier than you think.
pretty sure they want this is General Q&A, you can use LauncherPro Beta, or ADW, which will give you the Vanilla Home style, however no samsung widgets, they suck anyways. your contacts will still integrate with twitter and fuk face, i mean face fuk, i mean face book...sorry. Buy Beautiful widgets and LockBot Pro from Market and your all set. mostly.

well it has some development implications and gives ideas to rom developers too so idk if a mod is irritated by this post i dont mind if its moved to general lol.
yeah Im aware of all those apps and those launchers, but I was wondering if there was a way to integrate the samsung apps with vanilla android, and use the stock vanilla lockscreen and music widgets into an actual rom.

truth be told i don't even care, so why did i say something in the first place...i'm an asshole...hopefully i can call myself an asshole...anywho, I agree, like some things about the touch**** i mean touchwiz, and the stock build. i would like to add some sense in there too...mix it all up and hopefully wind up with cm6.

lmao haha it aint a big deal haha
yeah touchwiz and stock mixed would be nice and i think CM6 could do that but idk abt the sense stuff. maybe well have sense roms but not from cyanogen and idk if itd be possible to mix sense with anything really, plus i dont like sense phones or roms because of their lack of bluetooth functionality. I bought the vibrant cuz i wanna use the wiimote via bluetooth to play my snes gba and sega games on my tv lol
TW Launcher blows, so use ADW - which incorporates TW and Sense - def the best Home replacement. U wont be missing the Samsung Widgets, they ****in suck.
The TW Lockscreen is amazing, dont know why u want to use the original. It is like the Sense LS that displays info, like the music app, which btw is the BEST out of all music players, including 3 (cubed). The puzzle lock is so cool too, looks rly nice (that feature can be turned off btw). And ability to swipe the LS in any direction to unlock is a pleasure to use.
As mentioned in other threads... The "proper" way to lable this is [prj] and then the project description... But I also don't really care, we need some mods to help out this form, especially cuz its a brand new phone
On a Vibrant, using this app-thingy

[Q] Google Experience on a Vibrant?

I am first to admit I am a Android noob. I was too late to buy a N1 as I am not a developer, so I bought a Vibrant. I do enjoy it (when the GPS behaves). But it doesn't seem to run as smoothly as my friends N1. His Google Voice seems so much faster than mine. Navigation is quicker. Even browsing.
Is it possible to get a clean Android install on the Vibrant?
Is that what you guys are referring to as rooting or firmwares?
Is there a way to remove the daily briefing, Amazon MP3 and the other bloatware?
Yes, to have the stock "vanilla" Google experience it would require a root.
If you do not want to root I suggest Launcher Pro its the closest you can get to the vanilla experience without rooting. It also made my vibrant a hell lot snappier VS touchwiz crap.

Or.. ADW Launcher, I prefer ADW Launcher.. to be honest, USE BOTH. I know a lot of people suggest Launcher Pro for whatever reasons, ADW Launcher is about the same, if not better. It depends on the person and how they want to use their phone. And "touchwiz" crap is honestly NOT that bad. I enjoy the notification bars with the toggle wifi/silent/gps etc.

I never got accustomed to ADW. Preferred the look of LP more anyways.
Also the wifi/silent/gps toggle and notification bar are still there even if you are using LP.
It keeps the nice features of TW but gets rid of that iPhone looking interface.

They honestly don't look that separate from appearances at all. And I know that they're there but they're implemented WITHIN TouchWiz. The TouchWiz launcher is only ONE part of TouchWiz. You were blatantly insulting the whole (I guess you would call), "TouchWiz experience." With a "Google Experience" the toggle wifi/silent/gps etc aren't there.
I'm just saying that ADW Launcher and Launcher Pro depends on the person and that you shouldn't be so biased on saying "oh try launcher pro" because they're honestly both good. It just depends on the person's personality. Some people may enjoy the extra settings that ADW Launcher provide and its also Open Source, which can be a big deal for some people.

So if I root, I can remove the unwanted apps? I notice slacker and Amazon mp3 running all the time. I've never even launched or signed into either of them
How would I get the original Google apps that Samsung and T-mobile replaced with their own?

Yes if you root you can remove the 'bloatware' applications that come pre-installed with the phone. There are threads on XDA in regards about it, you can either use Root Explorer or ADB. Do some searching on the forums and I'm sure that you'll find it! Because it's a pain to explain how it SDK works and all that. Check out the stickied thread in the General forums and it'll briefly describe about how to remove bloatware.
Samsung/T-Mobile did not replace the Google applications at all, the google applications are never removed. I think you're misconceiving it with something else. The google applications are applications such as but not limited to: YouTube, Gmail, Account Sync and all things of that sort. Samsung basically just redesigned it so the UI looks "better" in their eyes (not saying that it does or anything but thats what Samsung believes in).
T-Mobile did not replace anything. All they did was change the market with the third tab as T-Mobile rather than Downloads. However they did add 'bloatware' as 30-day trials and things of that sort.

Questions from an iPhone refugee

1: How easy is it to root a G2? I am very interested in running pure android on it.
2: Is rooting and going pure Android worth doing, or do you lose useful features by doing that?
3:How is the Dev community for this phone. Are there lots of people working on Roms and such?
4: Is there anything you guys can think of that I should know before making this switch to this phone? IE Hardware or software problems, advice, anything
5: Does the G2 have wireless charging like my Nexus 7 does? Does it have HDMI out as well?
1. Very easy, matter of connencting phone and running special exe
2. You don't loose anything, just warranty is void in when your phone is rooted, but you can easily get back to stock.
3. Not yet, but G2 community grows fast.
4. As ex-galaxian user getting used to buttons on back of the phone was pretty hard, but I'm ok with it now.
5. As I know only verizon version has this feature.
Apologize for my English.

Thanks! One last question, is Wifi Hotspot enabled on this phone? What if it is running a custom ROM?
WiFi hotspot works well, both for stock and Cyanogenmod .
Thank you, Razdar the Helpful! I shall sacrifice several beers in your honor later this evening!
No problem my friend. Making iPhone user pick android is always worth time . Feel free to ask if you have further questions about G2 .
Actually yes when going back to stock rom your running stock android... which is a pretty light weight operating system... you are loosing some useful features in the g2 such as Knock on from homescreen which can be easily solved with apex launcher or nova launcher prime... however things i like about stock are texting pop ups that are very handy if your in the middle of something but want to reply quick... also the calling pop up i think is very nice because you can just swipe it up and it cancles the ring but keeps the call going (very useful if you like to let people think you arnt ignoring them haha) but other things such as quick memo and the built in application Quickremote... many other features to granite with CM or any other rom its gonna have some features to but for your instance before roming id give stock LG's UI a try before you go to roming the device... i did the same and am having a very positive experience... also right now im running stock rom with pie controlls and its very nice without the nav bar... the full screen and LG's UI is a win for me... however im a ROM junky so ill eventually rom it haha just keep in mind things like quick remote and quickmemo/ long hold on the power button down to launch camera app... however i do believe quick remote is accessable on an AOSP rom just look through the threads for it Hope this helped

Nailed it on the head. Didn't bother ROMing after using stock UI for a while. I'd miss the features like the pop ups too much.

Honestly i think the only rom i would get stuck on is Cleanrom but its just a copy with better performance haha it upsets me when people compare this UI to touchwiz and say it has useless features xD

That's the only ROM I was planning to switch to. Yeah, I know, I don't understand how people can claim that LG's UI is as bad or worse than TouchWiz. Personally, I think people that are making thise claims are just looking for something negative. It's not obtrusive and features can easily be switched off unlike TouchWiz where you have to hunt for everything.

Installing stock android on a Huawei Y-625-U51?

Hi there, i just bought myself a new Huawei Y625-U51, it's not my main phone, i just bought a random phone in case, and when booting it up today, i almost got eye cancer.
My issue is that the installed version of android, has an incredibly bloated, unpolished and ugly "Launcher" installed ontop if it (like samsungs Touchwiz), now my question is, is there any possible way of installing the stock version of android (like a nexus) on my phone?
Thank you for your time.
This device doesn't seem to have any aftermarket development going for it, so it does not look like that's gonna be an option. Best bet is to install Nova Launcher and try to ignore the rest of the ugliness of EMUI.

[Q] Is there any phone launcher that works on Wear OS?

Something like Nova or Apex, or even more obscure ones. It doesn't matter.
I dunno if i should install Android Wear on my Gear S or not, because it's Android 6.0.1, so it's a bit newer, but i don't like the Wear UI.
Does stuff like PowerShade, X-Status, MiControl Center or Miui-ify work on Wear?

I can't imagine what would you expect from WearOS, but there is a customizable launcher. Look for Bubble Cloud

There is only ONE REAL launcher that I know of and use,
it's called "Jelllybean" launcher, you can find it in the
Galaxy Watch's google play store easily and it's free.
It was created to replace the stock wear os app launcher
and has many excellent options and features.
It looks like the stock default launcher in wear os and
it also looks very similar to the Tickwatch Pro 3 custom
app Mobvoi launcher but it has a lot more features and
custom options.
The Bubble Cloud launcher is super difficult to use and the app launcher in Bubble Cloud is just a very small part of the actual Bubble Cloud app.
You cannot simply download and install it like all the android replacement launchers we see at the playstore.
After looking at it it reminds me of a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. LOL - There are many people who do like it!!!

Oh well... I expected a phone-like UI, because i never liked the Wear UI.
I could install Ultimate Dynamic Navbar and remap the home command to launching the "home" activity of something like Nova Launcher.
Watches can run GTA and Minecraft, but i still don't get why they lack the ability to run a simple launcher.

Just open the playstore on your wear os watch and search for the word "Jelllylauncher" and install it.
It's so easy even Mikey can can do that, you don't even need a link.

Oh... It's called JellyLauncher, not JellyBean launcher.
Since you called JellyBean so many times, i thought it was a different one.
Yes... You are right...
I have been using jellylauncher for almost 3 yrs, I really like it a lot.
Also if you are looking for the very best and one of a kind watch face app
Called the
"Ultimate Watch 2" give it a try, it's a lot more than simply a watch face...
It's more like a full customizing studio with hundreds of presets and user options and features which are not found in any other wear os watch face.
It's 100 % compatible with all the wear os galaxy watches.
Let me know what you think of it....
Have a great day.

Thanks. Have a nice day too.
I don't have a Wear OS watch yet, because the lack of phone app support is a major downside to me.
I'm still using a Galaxy Gear S with Andorid 5.1.1 installed on it.
But i'm thinking of getting the latest Galaxy Watch, but i'm also thinking about getting a Nubia Watch, because it's more of what i currently have.
Sorry to post on this somewhat old thread. I tried the Jelllybean app. It doesn't replace the default home app on WearOS (settings-> Apps & notifications -> Default apps -> Home app). It doesn't even show up as an option there. Does anyone know if that is even possile to download an app on WearOS 3 to replace the default home app?
