New Zuk Edge Alot Of Missing Features. - Lenovo Zuk Edge Questions & Answers

Hi forumers, just got my Zuk Edge a few days ago and been happy with the phone. But I think the phone I had is not the stock ROM by Lenovo as it has a lot of missing features. Such as the camera is swapped into the stock android Camera, No Apps Centre, or any bloatware. It is on 2.3.079 ST on Android 6.0.1. As I've read and seen from review there should be an update button to upgrade it OTA but mine doesn't have that. Did some googling and its not as easy as my previous phone to root and flash another rom. Can anyone guide me what the steps are?
From my understanding,
I Need to first Unlock the Bootloader, Then only be able to flash another stock ROM? Hope someone could kindly point me to the right direction. Thanks in advance for your kind help.

I managed to finally unlocked the Bootlaoder and on Grosshopper Nougat ROM. Everything seems fine so far. Wonder anyone of u was able to record 1080p at 60fps? Couldn't find one camera that could do so tho.

I followed the steps on this post exactly. For unlocking bootloader. Just choose Zuk Edge instead on Z1.
Once you have the file.
Follow the steps on this site.

Use Chrome and Translate website to English. Make sure to backup your things first as the process will wipe off everything.

More Problems
I have accidentally bricked my Zuk Edge. Anyone with any information that can help me is muchly appreciated. I tried factory reset on the Settings Menu in the Grosshoper ROM and now I'm having bootloop to TWRP. Please help if anyone has any tips.

N-910C Camera Failed - Even HW replacement doesnt solve!

Hi All,
Im posting this thread after review all others.
I have the phone for almost an year and everything was working fine.
Suddenly the Camera stopped working.
The problem is only in the rear camera. Front camera is working.
Wipe data / Factory reset from setting or Pwr+Home+Vol up doesnt help.
Also i even went to a phone shop and tried to replace the camera. After 3 different cameras the tech told me he dont know what to do and think need motherboard replacement. Another thing is the flash that i tought might stopped working but it is still functioning properly.
Need your wise help guys! Appriciate every comment or suggestion!
Thanks,
Eyal.
Have you tried reflashing the stock ROM back onto your device? There is a chance that the drivers for your main camera maybe corrupted or have been deleted. If that doesn't work then you are going to need a replacement motherboard.

Thank you for taking time looking amd replying.Thats an intresting option. I didnt tried that.
However i also didnt found a root method for the N-910C. I would need to replace the kernel with a different one and i cannot find a suitable Kernel.
Let me explore this option and lets see.
If you have any direction on the rooting part it would be great.
Thanks,
Eyal.
Ummm, if you have no experience in rooting your device I would strongly recommend you avoid doing that as you can easily brick your device. I'd highly recommend you reflashing the stock ROM back onto your device to see if that will fix your problem. Otherwise you will need to replace the motherboard.

Thanks man, ive rooted many devices i had in the past, the New ones dont need that as everything is quite good out of the box.
the problem is to find a kernel matching the 'C' version. all the rest is easy.
let me look into it.

Its a N-910C it still has warranty for a few months as each samsung phone comes with 24months. How could the Samsung Tech not replace or fix the camera under warranty?
Also why did they try 3 different types, you would have though after the first they would stop if they matched up the model number of the parts etc before even opening the phone.

You would be better off just reflashing the stock ROM back onto your device rather than go hunting for the individual kernel. As the original firmware file probably has that within it.

From what I understand you should be able to reflash the stock Samsung ROM back onto your device. This will remove the root functions and restore your device back to when it left the factory.

No, you shouldn't have to root your device in order to reflash the stock ROM back onto it. Just download the stock ROM from Sammobile and use Odin to flash it back onto your device. It's as simple as that. But you will loose the root features after you do this.

Flash the latest stock ROM for your model with Odin. Root is NOT required for STOCK ROM.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for your responses, i have tried with Odin and downloaded the correct firmware from Sammobile (by verifying *#1234#) and after Odin pass successfully the device was not able to boot from the new firmware. so it rebooted again and returned to the former status (with all the apps and everything i currently still have ) means in other words Odin failed or i did something wrong.
i will keep trying. and update you.
Thanks,

What did it fail on? If it was sboot.bon that's the bootloader and you need to get the same version that was previously on your phone (Didn't read the post above. Try below, that will probably work).

After it boots up and fails, go into the stock recovery and do a factory reset. That should bring it up.

Learn how to act on forums and you'll get a lot more help. Once unlocked you'll get that warning unless you cover it up by flashing a new logo.bin as shown in the above post. You should also do a lot more reading before flashing anything.

Trying to flash marshmallow.

Hi everyone. I have a Galaxy S7 Edge with Verizon service that I'm trying to flash back to its stock marshmallow Android 6.0 firmware. I'm using the latest version of Odin to try and do this. I had a lot of trouble trying to find the USA stock firmware for this phone. Whenever I did find it it had four different files in the download, even though all the guides I was using said it would just be one, the AP. Most of the guides I found we're not very good either. Is there a reputable site where I can find the firmware, and is there a decent guide with instructions? I would do the OEM unlock, and enable USB debugging. Odin would detect the phone just fine. But when I go to flash it it always fails with an authentication error. I haven't tried messing with phones beyond basic usage since the iPhone came out. So I'm a little behind on how this stuff works. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you for your patience.
To flash with Odin u need to put BL+ap+cp+CSC

I did try flashing it with all four. It did not work. I will try again and report back with the exact error message. Thanks for the link.

Try to flash with the same firmware (with now) or higher firmware. As far as I know the verison bootloader is locked so can not downgrade
Is there any way to change the bootloader? I already have nougat on it. I'm trying to go back to marshmallow. The applications I'm trying to use only works in that version. My only other option would be to root it, but I really don't want to do that.

[Unmodified] Pre-rooted firmware for SM-G361F

Hi everyone,
Today I am posting this thread because of some idiots who are now sharing pre-rooted firmwares for SM-G361F that are full of bloats.
I am sick of that, this is why I upload the archive of the first pre-rooted firmware I got that was at least clean.
You can download it here: https://mega.nz/#!oqpRhZJZ!B18uTiB3TH-QfChoqjgWCNmaPjqInPZbFyI4u9-T8s4
Note: This firmware is ONLY for Samsung Galaxy Core Prime SM-G361F devices with AOG1 build.
Of course I don't own the firmware and I didn't root it, I just keep the right to upload it.

Pre rooted
Hey,can you find SM-G361F pre rooted version for this device?
BaseBand G361FXXU1AQA1
Build number G361FXXU1AQD1
I can't find it anywhere
I love what you're doing. All other pre-rooted ROMS are full of trash. Could you make it for G361FXXU1APA3?
Hum... OK guys thanks for the love but I have to remember you something.
I am not a developer yet and truly not a ROM unbloater: I didn't "disinfect" the firmware, I just reuploaded it (well after a fast check, I found I've already prevented about that, just read the thread please...)
So no dudes I can't do that, sorry. I COULD eventually do that, removing bloats and extract system image to make a flashable shouldn't be as complicated, but I do not have time.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Hey Atronid, you rock! I have the AOL1 but intend to give it a try cause I already rooted it but it's full of bloast. Do you know if I can flash another pre-rooted firmware considering I did this already? could this be harmul? -brickful? )-

I don't think doing this will brick your device, but careful. Ensure the usal requirements are here (OEM unlock, USB debug just in case...) and you made a backup, also in case something goes wrong.
But if you're rooted you got plenty tools that can remove bloats from your device, but I hope you're not easily scared because once removed system may spam that the bloat you just uninstalled has stopped. You can get rid of that by just rebooting your phone.
So you don't need to reflash any firmware if you just want to clean your phone up.
Yes, you're right. The problem was that the apps I tried to remove other apps weren't the right ones, but now that's sorted thankfully On the other hand, as I couldn't find an Android 6 ROM for my phone (not even a sorry recovery.... ) in the end I set my mobile to install new apps on the sd card by default. Actually it works similarly to the app Link to SD, so a part of it is on the SD card and the rest (like the data it generates) in the device storage, despite all the tutorials sell this method as "Installation directly on your SD card". You need a computer and official Android development tools (SDK). In case it's of any interest for anyone I'll include the tutorial I followed, but it turns out I'm not allowed to post links yet, so the title of the article was Cómo instalar aplicaciones DIRECTAMENTE en la tarjeta SD from androidjefe website. In English, How to: Force Android to automatically install apps to SD card from softonic website
I hope it helps

Read first post. I don't think it will work if you have a build other than AOG1.
And you should not use TWRP to flash like this. Use Odin and Download mode instead.
Will this rooted firmware work with my SM-G361F phone? Need advice...
Hi there,
Will this rooted version work with my phone?
I'm new here and need some help and advice re Rooting this Samsung phone SM-G361F - I'M NO TECHIE but have ability to following instructions and make connections etc. My phone details are below.
Baseband G361FXXU1ASC1
Build LMY48B.G361FXXU1AQD1
Patch level is 2017-4-01
Security software version ASKS 1.2_161011
I did once try rooting a Samsung tablet using Odin and it all worked OK, but that was a while ago.
How important is it to get the identical build or baseband? Anything else I need to check?
I was trying initially trying to change the phone's MAC address, as I was experimenting with the phone, however I could not use an App to do this as it stated phone that the phone needs Rooting first for App to work. Also tried Terminal Emulator app but it kept failing to work as I was probably, unable to input the text commands required correctly.
I hope someone can please help and advise me on this.
M
Kind regards
