Bricked phone - Xiaomi Redmi Pro Questions & Answers

I have a 9-month old Redmi Pro which suddenly refused to recognize fingerprint or PIN.
I can get into the Fastboot screen, or alternatively several other screens in Chinese with no English options.
Can anyone advise any sensible action for this non-tecchie other than the dustbin and a new phone ??? (There is not much data on it so a hard reset is no problem -if I can find out how to do it!)

Hi Friend,
Go to settings --> Additional settings --> Backup & reset --> Factory data reset.
Please let us know if that helps.

When I say bricked, I mean I can't get into anything, certainly not Settings. Thanks anyway. I think it's the bin option.....

That screens in Chinese have the recovery option, you can see this video to get that options in English and make a factory reset.

[Q] Can't use pattern lock, swipe lock & pin in my S3 Neo i9301i?

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo i9301i from Italy without any service offer. But i use it in Bangladesh. When i tried to use that phone here it say's to give a pin code for network lock. I went to nearest local service center and they unlock the phone in some way but i can't use my Swipe, Pattern lock . I can only use password. It is very painful giving password every time. Here is a screenshot of my lock screen. Can anyone help me about this matter?
Hmm seems that your device is encrypted.. dont know why it disabled features for you.. i suggest wiping data/ factory reset over recovery mode ( vol up + home + power ) to see if it will help. Note that this will remove everythign from your phone so backup important data
Maybe because in Italy is Locked, but i don't think that has to do...
Horrible english but i'm italian

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I had encrypted my phone. Do you know anything about if i do factory reset/wiping data, will it show again a network lock? If it become network lock again it will cost me about 20$

And dont be nervous i try to help your choice did you will accept.
(sorry for mistakes and for my english)
Well, if factory reset does not solve your problem, the alternative that I can think of is to use ODIN to flash stock firmware.
Thanks all for reply. I just solved the problem. It was happening for encrypting my device. After decrypting my device the problem is solved

Strange display issues

So I have some problems with my OPT.
As soon as the system has completely booted the screen remains dark. Before this (boot animation, recovery, fastboot) the screen works fine.
I already tried all methods from Oneplus Two - Solution for Hard Bricked Device more than once but the problem could not be solved.
Current state: USB debugging disabled, oem unlock disabled. Fastboot and recovery work.
I flashed 2.2.0 full via stock recovery, then I wiped data and cache.
After booting I can see the language selection like the phone comes fresh out of the box but as soon as I try to select the language the screen turns black again. I can go back to language selection by pressing the back softkey and then the power button. When doing this the screen turns on again.
How can I make it work again?
Try flashing the Hydrogen OS.
Tried it but it the issues is still the same apart from the fact that it boots Hydrgen OS instead of OOS.

Is it a New mobile?
I had a remote service with oneplus today. They basically did the same like in the Oneplus Two - Solution for Hard Bricked Device thread and it did not change anything.
So it must be a hardware issue and I will let it be repaiered.

need help with axon 7 a2017u semi bricked

Hi
Yesterday I got my axon 7 and it worked perfect.
Now I was wanted to change the language
So I downloaded as file that in my language
And I tried to install him .
And it worked by the adb software when the axon connected to the computer
So I went to the application in my phone and changed it to my language after USB debugging and developer option is worked
Then the phone was changed to my language and crashed
Now the axon just show the start logo and stuck in restart loop. so I tried to do few thing through your forum , but nothing helped ..
I also cleared the cache through recovery mode but it also didn't help
Its like the axon can't upload the operating system
Thanks a lot for who will help me here.
Also if it possible to send money through PayPal
And if it's legal I will send 30$ to the first that will help me solve this problem
Can you share the link to the file you downloaded ?
Is it compatible with the version of your phone ?
If you can enter in recovery it's enough to save it.

Yea the reason it happened is because I installed wrong adb language on my axon through USB debugging and external app
Now it possible to get into recovery
I just don't know what to do next
I tried few things but I always keep getting errors
You can try to install TWRP.
You will have a lot of option.
There is no option to restor the phone in the official recovery ?

I tried but after the install the drivers and cheak them in the device manager in my computer
The name of the driver was London marshesll something
And not what I saw in the guide - adb something
And it didn't recognize my device
I wrote also adb reboot bootloader
And it gives me error massage
I would be more then happy to give someone 30$ now..
Just that my axon will work
Did you root your phone, or just use ADB to sideload a file? If it's wasn't rooted/unlocked, then a factory reset should take care of it, as nothing done via ADB in that setup would impact the system partitions.
If you used the unofficial bootloader unlocking, then you'll have to follow other people's restore guides.
As @TeutonJon78 mention, a factory reset will do the job youan boot to stock recovery using adb
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Or doing it manually,
- Completely Power off your device
- Press and HOLD Volume UP and Power button.
- once you boot to recovery just use your volume buttons to navigate FACTORY RESET.
- Reboot System
holding up and down at the same time. get to fastboot mode it says secure boot: enabled and device state: locked. then i entered to recovery mode, and press on "wipe data/factory reset" (said it was successfully finished). then i pressed on "reboot system now". still its stuck on the zte logo

I will be honest man. I bricked mine too. Everybody has a step by step guide that they say works. I followed them step by step. They did not work. I have an RMA open on my phone and fedex is taking it to ZTE. Use the warranty. Until Zte puts online the full factory images for us to use there is no real way to fix these things.

I know how to help you if you can tell me which bootloader version you have? Did you unlocked it? did you use Tenfar's method to root it?

Were you playing around with the rooting/unofficial bootloader? It should be very hard to actually brick the device without doing those things, and nothing a factory reset shouldn't fix.
If one's playing around with unofficial modifications, then they should take all precautions to make sure to know how to recover the device before hand. There's still a lot of moving pieces between potentially faulty TWRP bugs and no image file.

Did you let it sit for awhile? First runs after a factory reset can take up to even 10 minutes to boot fully. If it still doesn't work again, check if the recovery menu has another option like wipe cache/davlik, which maybe also needs to run if they have a bug in the recovery code about resetting data. If you hadn't touch anything using the tools on this forum, and none of the factory reset/wipe data/wipe cache stuff helps, then you probably have a faulty phone. Just sideloading an app shouldn't be able to corrupt a locked system partition.
The OP of this thread hasn't yet clarified if he was just sideloading files on a normal system (which should be totally fixable unless his phone has an actual flash problem) or if he had been tinkering with other things first.

The factory reset made my phone lose it's IMEI. Everyone said follow this certain guide. After following that guide and getting more help after that I had an AXON 7 that wouldn't turn on at all. Without full factory images from ZTE I won't touch the software. ZTE can fix it.

Which guide did you follow? A Factory reset form within the stock software or stock recovery shouldn't cause that problem at all, as it should only be wiping data, cache, Davlik, and potentially the "media" portion of the internal storage.

Samsung S8 Problem to Reset - Volume Buttons Depressed

Please, help me
I have a problem with my Samsung S8 phone that I recently bought on the web.
I would like to reset it but the volume buttons are depressed and do not work.
When I want to turn off the phone he asks me the pin code. Obviously, I do not have it. I am then
I tried to go through Odin but I do not know too much this software and then I tried to go through dr.fone but the S8 version is not yet available.
How can I turn off the phone?
And how can I reset it?
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ADVICES MY FRIENDS

Try to get to download mode. Look to see if frp lock is disabled before you reset. If reactivation lock is on remove Google accounts first.
Go to settings, general and then reset

A6 PF - Menu won’t open anymore

Atoto A6 PF installed yesterday and all was good until late in the day the menu stopped opening. I click the icon and it flashes a sound icon over the menu icon for a brief second before nothing else happens.
I’ve tried disconnecting the power harness in an effort to hard reset it and soft reset it to no avail.
Will try to update firmware soon but I don’t have access to putting the file onto a usb drive at the moment, as ridiculous as that sounds. And I did download the file through the browser but can’t experiment opening the file since I can’t access the menu > file explorer.
Any ideas??

Sure, it was just going through something like Settings > User Accounts > Reset, and it did a factory reset of the device.
The weird part was that I did that once already and it simply restarted the device to the same state instead of actually resetting it, so I was like uh oh what now.. Tried it again and it worked correctly.
I had thie same thing happen with my app drawer. I factory reset it and it worked fine for a couple days, then out of seeming nowhere, it started doing it again. I just did another factory reset but I have a hunch it's just a matter of time and it'll happen again. I would like to find a permanent solution. Hows yours holding up?
