did you guys try to duplicate your fon screen to an external display? if yes, you need to go to the home app on fon n from there you can find to duplicate your screen to an external display which is connected to chrome cast accessory. or else, if you just want without chrome cast device, external display need to be connected to same wifi n either of them should have installed home app so that they can talk to each other.
for wifi printing install printer specific app to your mobile. Make sure that both printer n mobile are on same network (wifi) then it should work flawless.
I have tested all above methods (except smart tv one)

Same problem
Can someone figured out how to share the display with smart tv ( screen mirroring ) , because I can't... When go to option for screen mirroring from drop menu or settings on display there show me " can't find devices " . On my lenovo in the screen mirroring option in the top right corner have a option to activate wireless display but the here is empty in nokia 6 .Both devices smart tv and phone are on same wifi network. The interesting thing is that the phone find the tv only when search it via wifi direct but I need the screen mirroring option... Youtube share work perfect . So the network it's not a problem. What should be activated on the phone to find the tv in screen mirroring option I don't know if someone know let share with us that mistery

[Q] Nexus 4 and Samsung TV ScreenMirroring

I can't connect my Nexus 4 with CM11(kitkat) to my Samsung Smart TV.
1. I select the option Screen Mirroring on the TV, it's says that it's waiting for the device so...
2. Settings>Display & lights>Screen Cast and there is the tv under the name [TV]Bed room
3. Select the TV and say connecting to Android_abc.. then Android_abc is connected and after 1 or 2 seconds the Screen Mirroring Close with the message: Screen Mirroring has terminated or finalazed (it's in spanish so..)
On developer options the option of HDCP - DRM I chose: Never. I read somewhere that with CM that option would work.
When I active the certification for the wireless screen, when I select the tv I send a message with a PIN then I recieve a message from the tv with another PIN.
Sometimes the tv show me a PIN that I should write on my device so the pop-up appears and I write the PIN but in all the cases th Screen Mirroring close.
PS: cm-11-20131217-NIGHTLY, update it today 12/18
Same problem over here... I read that we should use the "AllShare Cast" app from samsung for samsung devices. However this app was adapted for other devices but I find only dead link now...

Screen mirroring over WIFI ?

Hello,
Just got the Nexus 6P , after years with Samsung note series... I was wondering , is there anyway in Nexus 6P to do screen mirroring over the wifi ? without any dongle?
I tried the Cast option , but it did not recognize my Sony tv which is connected to the same WIFI network, while the Samsung note had that "screen mirroring" option built in, is there anything equivalent in the Nexus?
Thanks, :good:
Roy
The cast option is designed to be used with a Chromecast. Some TVs and other video devices will register as Chromecast for some things, but not all. For example, my Vizio Smart TV shows up in the list of devices I can cast to in Netflix, but all it does is launch the Netflix app on the TV. I can't actually cast to it and control it from my phone like I can with an actual Chromecast.
Nexus devices on do Chromecast by default. If you want Miracast then you need root and to modify the build.prop file to enable it.
I can verify that if you root your Nexus 6P and add the following line to your build.prop, it will work with miracast devices. I just had it working with my screen beam pro that I bought to cast my Nvidia Shield Portable.
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
Actually it is built in! I just hooked up to my Samsung TV. Go to "Cast", tap the three dots, check enable wireless display (make sure the mirroring function on your TV is on). Bam! your connected.

This is not available on Nexus 6P (and Nexus 6 too) on stock.
I wonder why Google removed this and made it such that users have to root in order to activate Miracast....
Because they want you to use Chromecast, which is very Apple Esq of them

I can only think of this being the reason.....
I think the main reason why it is disabled by default is because Wi-Di (as Intel likes to call it) requires "certified" hardware to allow you to mirror your screen over Wi-Fi.
Same for PCs... you need a certified Wireless Network Card to enable Windows 8-10 to mirror your screen to a Miracast Receiver.
TL;DR: Don't blame Google for this..!
Not really the excuse, LG had pretty much the exact same model as the N5 which had it on as default, so the hardware was certifiable in that case. Pretty sure other Hauewi devices are also certified. Far more likely to be Google pushing Chromecast.
Well that sucks that we have to modify build.prop to get Miracast mirroring to work. I was hoping to do the "systemless" root so I could take updates easier. I use ARU Unchained with my Pioneer NEX car stereo to mirror my phone, so I can use all the functions of the phone directly on the NEX. I have a Screen Beam. All works great with my rooted S5. I have not received my 6P yet, but I have a tracking number. Good to know in advance, I guess. Not sure if this is a show stopper for me or not, but I'm sure not happy about it.
I can confirm it works out of the box on a Samsung j series 4k smart tv. I just had to pair with the tv through the wifi direct menu.
I was able to connect using direct WiFi but how do you share screen after that?

I think you need Chromecast in order to simply mirror the screen. But you can actually mirror the content most content that is to most Smart TV's

Have you modified the build.prop file to make it visible?

I don't want to root it, I saw someone posted that it worked by connecting direct wi-fi so was wondering if there is anyway but looks like 2 options are chromecast or rooting unless someone can help suggest connecting using direct wi-fi.

Yes, those are your two options. And if you go Chromecast, you can't start mirroring without a data connection. That was the killer for me, I needed to be able to mirror in remote places with no data signal.
That cast is useless. How can google do that?

G4 Miracast not working?

Hello everybody,
when I choose the option to cast the screen, my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter V2 does not show up.
The adapter works well with my LG G3 - so my question is: does the G4 not support Miracast at all or doesn't it like Microsoft or am I missing something?
Thank you for yor help,
Martin

The Moto G4 for some reason only supports Googlecast, but its a simple fix to make it support Miracast. Change build.prop to enable user to access Google WFD setting to persist.debug.wfd.enable=1 from persist.debug.wfd.enable=0
Thank you.
I already did that and I now have an extra Option to enable wireless Casting but the Microsoft dongle still does not show up in the list of devices.

Do you have wifi enable? Sometimes I forget to turn it on
Yes, sure. Screen mirroring to FireTV ist working - strange...
Solved. I had to go to advanced Wifi Parameters - Wifi Direct Setting and invite the adapter:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-g-2013/357605-miracast-anyone-get-casting-screen-work.html#post3489469
Well, not really solved. Everytime I leave the wifi network, the adapter dissappeared. I'll have to turn wifi off and back on, wait a while, then go to wifi direct settings and invite the adapter again.
That is really annoying as I use the Miracast in my car with an app radio...

HELP: Can't share screen with smart TV

So I have my Huawei P8 Lite, Build no. ALE-L21C432B170 with Kernel 3.10.61-ga9763c9; and a Samsung Series 6 Smart Tv.
The Multi-display shortcut thingy does not find the TV automatically. Through wifi direct I can connect my phone with the TV. Then run again the Multi-display thingy, the Tv's Wifi Direct name shows up, I press it, the TV goes into "Loading" - status and remains there yet the telephone signals that connection failed.
Tried it with an Allview P5Life, a far weaker device, yet with a single button press I could establish screen sharing, without having to mess around in Wifi Direct.
Can somebody confirm that the Huawei P8 Lite devices are not compatible with Samsung Series 6 Smart Tvs or that I need to do additional settings before being able to share screen?
P.S.: As I recall correctly I even tried sharing screen with an other brand Tv but without success. Need Help.

You can use nokia's own forum to suggest them your thoughts here: https://community.phones.nokia.com/support/discussions/forums/7000004252
As for cast service.
The native option under display settings is useless use apps like AllCast or Web Video Cast which work fine.
I have tested both of these apps and they both work just great.
AllCast has a trial period which is a cache here, but web video cast is just amazing as it has support for not only DLNA but Chromecast as well. It also has a built-in browser which will help you Casting YouTube to your TV or any wireless display you want to Cast to.
Link for Web video cast: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.instantbits.cast.webvideo
Link for AllCast
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.cast
Attached pictures show that Nokia 6 successfully recognized my external Display and successful in pairing with it. Third picture shows casting of a TV show season from Nokia 6 to TV (via a DLNA support device)
I know abt the chromecast thing... But my tv supports miracast.. And so does samsung s5 and even yu yureka which is abt 6000 INR. PRICING.. so cant nokia get a new update where miracast is provided through OTA. Initially i think nokia 6 needs a device to complete its connection. Or can u provide me any 3rd party software that works similar to miracast without using any middle dongle or device for building up connection
Miracast doesnt require any device or dongle.. It works on wifi direct.. Or peer peer network..
Do we need to have chromecast for Allcast or mira ast works?!
Good idea of navigations keys turned on while charging
