Can my cricket s7 G930az be downgraded back to marshmallow from nougat? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Can my cricket s7 G930az be downgraded back to marshmallow from nougat? I don't want to break my phone either. I will need steps on how to do this full proof if possible without damaging my device. Steps would be helpful so I won't softbrick or hardbrick... Firmware would also be useful to for cricket Marshmallow latest. I've never done this before.

Not with a locked bootloader.

Is it locked?

As far as I know, the only phones with unlocked bootloaders are the international F/FD variants.

The snapdragon processor models got screwed in that regard unfortunately.

SIM Card Locked

I living in Ireland at the moment. I went to the store to buy a S7 Edge this morning. The salesman said that the smartphone is locked and the only way to unlock it is topping up more than 150€ and asking them for the number afterwards.
I've researched about it and could find lots of sites that sell the unlocking number. Is there any other way to unlock it free of charge?
If not, do you guys suggest any website to order the unlock number?
and another question, if I flash another rom or factory reset the phone will it be sim locked again? will it be possible to use the same number to unlock it?
You can use UnlockRadar to unlock Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I'am a repair shop owner and I'm using their services frequently without any problems. And if you unlock your phone, the unlock is permanent so you can flash another custom ROM. Here's a link: https://www.unlockradar.com/unlock-samsung/galaxy-s7-edge

The only thing is that the link I've sent you won't work for T-Mobile USA or MetroPCS USA.

Unlocking phone vs Custom ROMs

Hello all,
If I get a mobile provider carrier (Rogers) locked phone, can I unlock it by installing a custom ROM on it? Would it be unlocked then?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

[Request] TWRP for the Verizon LG G6 VS988

I really want root so I can remove the bloatware on my VS988. Could some please make a compatible custom recovery for this model? Thanks!

There is no unlocked boot loader for the VS988.
There is no way to add TWRP without a boot loader unlock.
If you like the LG G6, sell the Verizon version and get the US997 version with has a boot loader you can unlock and it also works on VZW.

I have the US997 Unlocked and on Verizon. It works great. After my Moto X I'll never purchase a phone from Verizon again. Unlocked all the way!

It isn't that simple. Your model, the VS988, is a locked down Verizon variant. LG has locked the carrier versions of the G6, so it doesn't matter if your on AT&T, Verizon or even US Cellular. You are unable to modify the software of a carrier branded variant. If you wanted to be able to modify your device you should of done research before you made the purchase and went with a US997, as it has an unlocked bootloader and supports the bands for every major United States carrier. Your best bet, if you want to do software modification, is to sell your current VS997 and pickup a new US997 for around $450. All accessories would work with both models so it wouldn't be as if you were buying all new accessories on top of it.

Your right. That was my mistake lol. I'm gonna wait till Cyber monday and buy the US977 model and try to sell my original.
Any chance I can get help finding the stock Verizon rom? I have the VS998 and cant seem to find it anywhere, the post here in XDA leads to a blank page.
Here is the Oreo update, it's the one before current version which contained security fix.

Calls not working after manual update to oreo

I got impatient and used the LG UP software to manually update my LG - HD870DS to oreo using the official lg firmware that released for the EU version. the software is working fine with almost no issues (including the quad-dac, unexpectedly). But I cant make any calls. The mobile networks option is greyed out and it says 'service disabled' . The imei number is showing fine. I dont want to rollback as, the update is quite good. Anyone know how to fix this?
EU does not have any Dual Sim Variants, you can't flash a Single Sim Software to Dual Sim.
You're a member of XDA Forum, so honestly you should know that.
Simply reflash your variant kdz... The modem are different
I was unable to find the kdz for my model, can someone give me a link? (My model is HD870DS)

Just a lg h870 ds firmwares search on google....
Update to Oreo is available for HD870DS via LG Bridge!

No. Att does not support byod wifi calling or volte. Even with the proper firmware att does not have the device in their database and will not support it
In the future please post questions on q and a

On a further note. Oym is multi carrier. It will personalize the device based on the carrier sim inserted
