Facebook App crashes whenever I try to upload an image on OnePlus 5 - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

As the title says my Facebook app crashes whenever I try to upload an image/video on OnePlus 5, how do I fix it?
I have tried the following options:
Updating the app to the latest version.
Force stop > Cleared cache and memory from app settings
Uninstalled the app and reinstalled fresh version from app store
Reset my phone to factory settings
Installed the latest OTA updates provided by OnePlus
I don't know what else to do now, please help.. Is there any body else facing the same problem?

Go into settings / applications and clear all data from the Facebook App. Uninstalling and reinstalling wouldn't necessarily fix the problem because data from the earlier install would be restored. If that doesn't work I would ask if you are running 100% stock or something modded.

Thanx for the reply.. I have tried clearing all data and Cache from app settings but no luck. Yes, I am running 100% stock OS as provided by OnePlus. Any other suggestions..?

Have you tried to upload in chrome browser?

Yes it is working fine with chrome browser.. The problem occurs only via facebook app.

I did a hard reset on my device, reconfigured everything, installed the Facebook app fresh.. still the same problem.. Does anyone has its solution?

Android Market Force Closes

I'm having a problem downloading and updating apps from the Android Market. As soon as the download is complete and the phone tries to install the Android Market force closes. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? My N1 is rooted and running CM 5.0.6.

Go to settings>applications>manage applications>market then clear cache and uninstall updates.
Come back to home screen then go into market, accept the T&C's and download your stuff.

Thanks man it worked. The only thing is that I have to do it every so often. It also takes a lomg time for anything to show up (i.e. searches, downloads, and just browsing)
Thanks
Worked for me too
Thanko you!
Finaly!
I didn't need to uninstall updates. I fixed this by just clearing the data in the application. But yes, if an application hangs at install it seems to screw up the Market app.
Mhhh. Yesterday had an app (Volume) that was stuck on installing an app ... for hours.
Thanks! Fixed my issue.
Thanks, worked great

Am I missing something? When I goto settings>applications>manage applications>market I can clear data and clear cache but I can't uninstall anything.
I cleared both the cache and data but once I except the terms of service it FC again. And I still have the issue with FC after every install or uninstall.
Anyone care to chime in here? I'm still having issues with the market crashing even after clearing data and cache.
Also I notice the market will crash after I set my USB connection type to data (connect to the computer).
WTF!? i have tried partitioning/formating the sd card and reinstalling cm6.1.1 and everytime i login to my google account and go to the market IT ALWAYS CRASHES! i dont have anything but 2 purchased apps that are not installed. clearing data and such does not help. even tried to reinstall cm6.1.1 with and without hdpa gapps but the problem is still there. i have flashed roms countless times and this is a first. makes me want to get a blackberry now.
Worked, but now I have the old version. Does it upgrade itself?
I've installed new rom and when market updates it crashes. I did wipe chace, unistal update and yes it works. I get back my old market. But after few minutes it updates itself to new one and I'm back at the begining.

Where is your Market update installing to - /data or /system?
Sorry but I'm new here. How can I see where updates are? Do I need to go to recovery and find market folder somewhere in -data or -system?
You can use a file browser and look in /system/app and /data/app to see if the Market is there - however, a better option is to use Titanium and use the batch options to "Integrate updates of system apps in ROM".
Once the Market is back in the /system it should behave a lot better...
-data/app folder is empty. I found Marketupdater.apk in -system/app. I'll try this Titanium and report back how are things.
Ok I've fixed it. You just need to select english language in settings and it dosn't crashes anymore.
PS: Sorry for bad english.

This is the solution for most market FC issues. Someone should pin this.

Foreground apps crash with no errors

Hello
I have this problem. whenever I open play store and apply updates or install new apps, the play store crashes and the updates are interrupted until I re-open it and resume the update manually. This doesn't seem to happen when the updates are done in the background automatically without opening the store first. I have already tried uninstalling, deleting cache and data, reboot etc. but the problem persists.
I have the Samsung Galaxy note 3 SM-N9005 LTE version with rooted kitkat 4.4.2

I see that very few people have this very annoying issue
I just don't want to resort to factory reset. I mean I know it will probably fix it but I just don't feel like setting my phone up again from the start which is time consuming, besides, what would be the purpose of this wonderful community if all problems were solved by wiping up one's phone.
I was wondering if the cause could be some poor memory management or bad cleaning/anti-virus apps interfering with the memory management I mean I am a complete noob in terms of android management but I assume when there are multiple apps being downloaded/updated at the same time it must consume a great deal of resources but for an app to crash without even the popup message that says "....has stopped" I have never seen before

Maybe you try to get a appstore.apk, delete your's wipe Cache and then install the apk.
I would also recommend data wipe though cause with backup (I use titanium) it'll be less time consuming than everything else. Just backup user data and you won't have to set it up again. The thing is it's not guaranteed that the problem lies within playstore and since we don't have your phone in our hands it is nearly impossible to point you to the exact fix.

well... speaking of backup I also use titanium and nandroid, thank god for that because earlier I tried something stupid (suggested here on XDA though) I cleared the app store cache and data which is fine because I did it before with no problem but then I cleared the google services framework data/cache, I wish I hadn't because it literally messed everything up. I was unable to connect at all to the store even though I had a good network connection. thank god it worked again after I restored the app/data
I can live with that issue. it's not such a hassle since I usually check the play store for updates every day at least. but I may try your first suggestion though. thanks 4aces

As you wish b careful though. I think (definitely not 100% sure) you have to put the apk file in device/system/apk with es file Explorer or root Explorer and than put the permission to rw rr.
That's why I recommend full wipe.

oops... no appstore.apk in /system/app folder. how could that be? On the other hand there is a com.android.vending-1.apk in /data/app so I'm puzzled

thanks for the link. maybe I could try to update it as my version is 4.6.17 which is older than 4.8.19 and see if there is a change. One thing I don't understand is that one can only disable it and not uninstall it so does that mean it's a system app even though it's not in the /system/app folder? should I convert it to user app with titanium prior to update?

From what I read so far it is implemented in system and not so easy to mess with. In the link above is a link back to xda. It'll be best if u read it.
PS. Hitting the thanks button is faster than typing

One more suggestion. Try to open application manager in settings and select all. Look for download manager and clear the cache then reboot.
If it doesn't help wait for other replies or wipe data will have to do the work.

I tried that but didn't help. then I tried to update and move to system, made it even worse as play store crashed as soon as I hit the update button. Reinstalling the app wouldn't help so I had to restore a nandroid backup. I'm giving up now but won't waste time doing a wipe data because it's not a real issue since I'm able to update anyway by hitting the button and close play store right after. All my apps still update in the background anyway

Oneplus2 Google Messenger SMS serious problems after OxygenOS 2.2.0 update

ever since i did the OxygenOS 2.2.0 update on my OP2 (android 5.1.1 build A2003_14_151211) , google messenger crashes as soon as I try to start it ... tried using google hangouts for SMS's but also crashes .. therefore I ended up without an SMS application which I need very much. Any idea please what I can do before I go for the factory reset path
Try to clear cache from recovery and settings and reboot. Used to happen with my phone app. This worked for me.

Have you updated android system web view.just uninstall the update and see the difference.if the problem persist you must format the device and do not update the android system web view.
i cleared cache from Reboot > Recovery option ... i did uninstall the web view update ... i even tried uninstall the google messenger update ... but problem still persists ... I did the factory reset two days ago and also problem persists ... cannot use any of these services ... google messenger (for SMS's), hangouts, contacts icon, phone icon .... all with same behavior.. when opening application, it crashes and closes instantly therefore will not let you be able to use the application

Hey! There is definitely no problem with the Android System Webview, I suggest (unfortunately) flashing TWRP, reflashing full OxygenOS 2.2.0 zip and a factory reset! Believe me it will fix all your problems!

I haven't advice to uninstall the web view.I only said that don't update webview and if you updated web view than uninstall the update.
Web view is a must app for android system.without it many Google apps will crash.

You should be able to remove all apart from Google play services, framework.
For some reason it doesn't work for me. For example, if I remove Chrome, Facebook messenger breaks, relay for reddit won't start. This is really strange?
I'm using ES file Explorer to remove apps. Titanium says it has deleted but apps are still there after restart.
Any ideas? @callumbr1
Thanks

Hmmm strange. You should just be able to remove chrome as normal and just remove apk.
I would suggest remove the apps you don't want. Then boot to recovery and wipe cache. Then reboot. This should fix and apps breaking/crashing.
Im rooted and using costum rom i did uninstall all google apps even google framework because i had errors with google apps and i did reinstall gapps but i still get ssl network errors...

Right, I finally figured out what the issue was - it was the webviewer implementation, so when removed system chrome, had to defrost android webview and select it to handle webviews. Problem was gone since!
