Has LeEco/LeTV, along with the market and services, exit India? - LeEco Le 1S Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey guys,
I bought my LeEco Le1s Eco (X509) in May last year (2016) and it was working fine for me except the battery woes. I had already rooted and installed a custom ROM (LOS13) on my phone and it worked like a charm. But yesterday my phone suddenly stopped charging itself up. The USB Type C jack of my charger heats up but the charge itself doesn't go up above 6% mark.
So today I decided to visit the authorized service center. I live in a humble city of Ranchi, JH. According to a pdf document Ranchi has 3 service centers in all. But when I went to the centers they told me that they have stopped accepting phones for repair now and didn't even guide me on what to do next.
Then I went to a local repair shop and he told me that its a hardware problem but then he made me aware about how its risky for him to just open the device as it opens up by the screen and it may crack. So I decided not to repair it from him.
Finally, I am stuck with a bricked cyber junk and can't do anything about it as the Toll free number of LeEco is also not responding. The forum website is down and their twitter handle @leecoindia is also not active.
Can anyone give me some insights?
Thanking this community,
Abhishek

Unfortunately Yes

same reply from me Unfortunately left the whole users in insane risk and most of them are i think rooted (due to Bad RAM management) and would not be probably wanting a bricked phone....we all have to be careful otherwise RIP leeco ..... i was also stuck and really no solution each and every site is down and no stores left

[Q] Root/Warrant Question Australia

My SGS4 recently stopped working - basically what happened was that it doesn't seem to be drawing power from the battery. The phone will turn on when plugged in (but soon power off), and will show as charging when first plugged into charger (but not charge). However if I unplug it, it won't turn on.
The phone is rooted, and running a custom, Samsung based ROM.
I have tried using a different battery, and the stock battery fully charged with an external charger - and the phone still won't turn on. It's clearly a hardware related issue - drawing current from the battery. I've also tried turning the phone on in download mode, and recovery mode. Both of which do the same as a standard boot - ie. turn on for a while, then turn off.
The phone, being only about 6 months old, was still within warranty period, so I took the phone to Telstra. Not surprisingly, Telstra have said that as there is a Custom ROM on the phone, the warrant is voided. I stated that my understanding is that under Australian law, as it is a hardware fault, and not a fault caused by the ROM, the warranty still stands - however Telstra wouldn't budge and said I have 5 days to decide if I want to pay the $300+ for the repair.
What is my next course of action? Has anybody had a similar issue previously? Is the TIO the next port of call? Or should I be going to NSW Department of Fair Trading?
I'm sure I've read previously that phones are still covered under warranty after rooting etc, if it can be shown that it's a hardware fault, not a software fault. As the battery doesn't seem to be powering the phone, this clearly seems to be the case - esp. as it is the same in download mode and recovery mode.
Any help would be great. Please don't post pointing out that I rooted my phone so THAT's my own fault etc. These posts aren't helpful, I already have know that.
is it too late to throw the original Telstra ROM on it and take it back to another store? If you were careful you would still be on the old bootloader, so there shouldn't be any KNOX concerns.
Thanks for the response.
It may not be too late, however I cannot flash it, as the phone won't stay on for more than a second or two. Even in download mode.
I was on the old bootloader, yes. So knox is fine.

Thats good to hear that your still on oldbootloader but the problem still will remain if you cant do something about it. Can you pls pull the battery out for atleast 5 to 10 minutes to let it settle abit and put it back after. Thanks
Edit: Would you mind checking your battery Serial S/N if it starts with BD ? thank you.
Sent from Hell ?
I am not too sure about Australian law but under EU law you are fine. This does not however apply to the rest of the world.
Either way if you have rooted outisde EU you are pretty much done for (unless there is a law). its extremely hard to prove that your rooting / apps or whatever you have on it has not caused the Hardware fault.
I understand that it is battery not charging etc, is there anyway while phone is connected directly to mains to flash it from usb card? if you could do this and 'unroot' the phone it should be stock or give you enough to trick kies into allowing you to update?
Its a pity you cannot power it through your PC and enter download mode and flash.. (or can you?)

Hi,
It's definitely no fault of the battery. I've tried various batteries, left the phone without a battery for days etc. (See this thread for details of this issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581229&page=2)
Battery serial starts AA.

I think that's the issue here. Basically a big company taking advantage of the small man. They have the upper hand, they know it, so they force you to pay.
It has to be a hardware fault, based on all of the behaviour (ie. phone booting in all modes - but dying in a handful of seconds), but it's easy for them to wash their hands of the warrant, by saying I modified the device - even if it is irrelevant to the problem.
I understand that it is battery not charging etc, is there anyway while phone is connected directly to mains to flash it from usb card? if you could do this and 'unroot' the phone it should be stock or give you enough to trick kies into allowing you to update?

Unfortunately not. Even when the phone powers up, it shows 0% and shuts down very soon after. If I plug it into the PC, then turn it on, it powers up and again turns off not long after. This same behaviour carries across to download mode and recovery mode. ie. It boots, but then dies within a few seconds.
Think I'll complain to the ombudsman.
Based on the Australian law, the ombudsman can assist as follows:
The TIO has jurisdiction to investigate complaints about faulty mobile handsets where the handset is supplied as part of a contractual relationship, between the TIO Member carrier or carriage service provider and the complainant, which involves the provision of a carriage service to be accessed via that handset.
The TIO does not have jurisdiction to investigate complaints where the customer supplies the handset (i.e. they have purchased it outright and separately from their purchase of network services), or where the initial contract has expired and the customer retains and continues to use the handset. Where appropriate, the TIO will refer out-of-jurisdiction complaints to the relevant Department of Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs.
This position statement does not relate to any manufacturer's warranty. The TIO will investigate complaints about faulty handsets provided as part of a bundled service, even where the initial handset warranty period may have expired.
Under the TIO's Operational Guidelines the TIO will only investigate complaints about faulty handsets where the fault is caused by an inherent defect or otherwise and is not caused by misuse by the customer. The TIO may also decline to investigate a complaint where a customer has not produced a handset for inspection/assessment after being asked to do so by their provider or the TIO.
As the defect was not caused by myself - as the rooting and custom software did not lead to the hardware defect, I believe it falls under the TIO jurisdiction.
As a long shot would a juice pack for a S4 work such as a morphie as you can charge and also sync? (not sure if the phone uses the pack or whether the pack is used to charge the battery, if the latter it will not work for you)
or maybe a mains powered dock and usb cable to PC?
Given TIO is able to look at something like this as the handset is bundled, go to them. Better them than CA/FT/whomever, as TIO is the specialist industry body.
Or....This sounds like it may be a simple USB board/port failure which is quick/easy/cheap (maybe 15 bucks) to replace yourself. You could always try that, and if that doesn't end up being the issue then go the TIO route.

I don't believe it's a usb port failure, as fully charged batteries haven't worked. It's not the USB port that's issue, but that the phone isn't drawing current from the battery.

What's a juice pack?
I have a dock, bit it has the same issue as charging direct - the phone turns off after about one second
So the latest news – I tried to phone the store again and this Telstra Shop NEVER answer their phone – I have their direct local line, given to me by the Telstra Call Centre, and even tried calling them as I walked through the door – as I'd tried calling throughout the day with no answer. The phone on the desks rang, and was ignored by staff who were standing around having a conversation. Sure explains why they weren't answering the phone throughout the day! So anyway, after not getting through to the store, I called the Telstra Call Centre again, explained the situation, and that I was quoted ~$350 for the quote. The operator looked into it, put me into someone who was escalating the case. After a short chat, the person said they'd call me back after speaking to the tech, getting all the details etc etc. Long story short, they call me back and gave me a waiver code. Said that I can request the store repair the phone, and give that waiver which will mean I'm not charged.
I went into the Telstra store this evening (which is after I kept trying to call them all day as above), and told them the situation. They didn't understand why I was telling them, and said I needed to tell the tech centre – who they can't provide contact number for (and who had told me when giving me the quote to respond to the store within 5 working days). Eventually a guy that knew what he was doing explained to my staff member that he just needed to email/message the tech responsible, provide the waiver and confirm to go ahead with repairs.
Now I've just got to wait for the call saying my phone is ready to be picked up Hopefully they don't stuff that up!!

Congrats on the Win! but i bet they will slap you in the face with KNOX
You mean they'll put me on the new BL? Yes, I'm sure of it. Tech centres always do a factory reset and load the latest firmware. They give you a warranty on the repair, so they ensure all is stock.
If you mean they will refuse to repair because of knox, I'm confident they won't. I'm on the old BL, and even so I've been given the quote and waiver for the quote already.
My phone has been returned in working order. Of course, Telstra being Telstra, I was told that they couldn't add the waiver at the shop, so we would be billed, and then have to apply for a credit.
Oh, and they've updated to a Knox enabled ROM obviously but that was expected

[Q] unauthorised software found by technician

hi,
i have a 3 month old samsung galaxy note 3, 4 weeks ago received this msg Error: An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device then a week after it started rebooting by itself, i brought it back to my service provider and they sent it away for repair, then the technician found unauthorised software on my phone, they said now its "custom" not "official", it voided my warranty and have to pay for the costs of repair, i have rang samsung as well regarding my concers, but they too doesnt seem to be so much help they said maybe an app caused this "unauthorised software" they said it rooted to my software. the funny thing is i did not root my phone or tamper it in any way?
anyone who has experienced the same thing? any thoughts? d you know any apps that can cause this problem?
cheers
I know a few years ago devs stopped using Rage because malicious hackers were putting it into apps to root phones and steal data without the phone's owner knowing. See if a factory reset works.
Sent from Spaceball One.
Have you tried Avast or Lookout to remove any malware or viruses?
Sent from my rooted Note 3 (N900T) using XDA Premium
As far as rebooting goes, did you wipe cache and perform factory reset? Because it does seem like a software problem and those should fix it.
Now for the the root itself: assuming you got your phone brand new (not some refurb or used) and not rooted it on purpose, it would be nice to find which program did it, so you could avoid it in the future. Again assuming you did not give your phone to your friends to play with it for example, I would make a list of all the programs downloaded, especially from unofficial sources (outside of Google Play) and basically look around for most likely source of your problems. The reason you should go with all this trouble is:
1. Even if fixed now, there is pretty good chance you could download this program again and it could be serious, harmful virus.
2. You could try fighting with Samsung, arguing that such and such particular program caused flag to be tripped, without your knowledge or consent and that would be Samsung fault not to properly protect the phone.
There is a big difference between somebody going to all the trouble of rooting on purpose and some virus messing your phone up.
And again all this assumes you didn't forgot to mention some important detail.

I actually experienced this a few days ago. I got another Note 3 on the first of this month, that was actually a first batch device and running the software that the Note 3's shipped on. It stopped working a few days later.. long story.
Anyway the replacement Note 3 I got was running a slightly newer, though not most up to date software. On the first Note 3 I went from version 1 shipping software to the latest update and there were no issues. With the second Note 3 I went from the updated software to the most up to date, and somewhere along the lines of me updating I got the error message that you are getting.
It is my belief that the update Samsung released causes this in some circumstances. An easy fix is just to do a factory data reset, worked for me and it hasn't popped up since. Samsung are completely wrong for accusing you of rooting though, I can replicate this and I have not rooted whatsoever.
hi there guys, thanks for all your reply
I definitely did not root my phone or tamper with it, I have not downloaded any other apps that are outside of google play and i have not downloaded any apps other than the common ones, (FB SKYPE ETC).
Also my phone is brand spanking new when I bought it, When it broke down I tried factory reset but nothing happened just keep on restarting..same problem
anyway, Just an update on my phone, I got it back from repair, however within minutes of getting it back, it started the same problem again,, BOOT LOOP, I havent even had a chance to download any apps, so I went back to the service provider and I told them what happened and I demanded for a new phone and a refund, the customer support guy then told me they have to escalate it first but he will note it on the ticket that i want a new phone and refund, I cant blame the guy though he is just following their protocol
Its been five days i havent heard anything from them yet, I will keep you guys updated on what happened

OnePlus Repair Center: How they just change software instead of changing broken parts

Hello OnePlus X users and Oneplus users in general. After a lot of **** I decided to make this thread to point out my issues and my experience with Oneplus and OnePlus in general. This will be a long thread so sit down, take some snacks and “enjoy”.
(Thread will be posted on XDA, Op forums and Reddit.)
My OnePlus X
About 4 months ago I was using my phone and noticed something. It was getting really hot without doing any heavy tasks. I couldn't remember this happening before. I wasn't thinking much about it but I looked a bit more on the temperature of the phone in the next few days, and what I saw was that the temperature was not OK at all. My phone temperature was higher than normal. And the temperature came from the position where the CPU was placed. From this point of time I tought I could live with it..but I couldn't. I also found someone else with the same problem. He encouraged me to send my phone to OnePlus and let them repair it. This was the day.. And this was maybe the biggest fault in my life.
I got my phone back and I was so happy because the days without my phone were horrible, not be able to call and message is really annoying. I was also happy because I thought I had a completely working phone now.
But no...
First I noticed that the phone has a strange version of oxygen os installed. On the power button screen I saw a "report bugs" button. It maybe was a developer version but I'm not sure about that. The device was also a little bit hotter than average. I tried to flash twrp but it wasn't working. It gave me errors over errors. I tried to flashed an official version of OOS. I could flash it but twrp still wasn't working there. It gave me errors again.
The next day I finally managed to install twrp(version 3.0) but when I tried to flash or wipe something it gave me errors.
It took me a day to figure out what to do.
I tried to change the file system of my partitions. It removed the errors but gave new ones.
Like Error 7.
OnePlus changed the device identification. I couldn't flash any rom without editing it, not even OOS. After editing the rom a bit I managed to flash it. Well.. I got it flashed but I got a bootloop then. I tried it several times and gave up. I even tried every file system possible and wiped anything through twrp and through fastboot. It just wasn't working for me. I also tried it with OOS. And guess what… it wasn't working either. Same with the oneplus recovery.
Next day again. I finally flashed oos through the oneplus recovery somehow. I got a working system.
In the next day I was confident enough to try and flash twrp.
It was working. I flashed a rom. Everything was fine until I noticed something. The heat. The heat came back. And this is not a little heat around the CPU, no this is 50-70°C which spreads around the device.
The best thing comes now.
I looked at the paperwork they sent back with the package. They just changed the software nothing else. No new cpu. With that I lost my trust into OnePlus.
The heat
Let’s talk a bit more in depth about the heat.
It all started 4 months ago, my phone was always cold, a little bit of heat while gaming but no problems at all. Suddently it started to heat.
The temperatures raised above 50 for the first time. I asked around in various OnePlus groups on Telegram and even made a post on XDA. Almost no one had the same problem.
Only me and Nico seemed to have the exact same problem. We tried everything: wiping, underclocking, changing governor, flashed ROM’s (like sultan, but it didn’t change).
There were moments that the heat was above 70°C, I couldn’t even hold my device anymore.
Alot of people convinced me to contact OnePlus customer support.
OnePlus Repair center failed!
The customer support created a ticket for me and I was preparing my device for shipping.
UPS picked up my phone and I needed to wait 15 days untill my device returned. That was no problem for me.
I got a message: my phone was arrived in my country, I picked it up.
I was so excited no more heat! But I was really wrong about that. The heat was back!
I was so dissapointed. I checked the shipping papers and I saw this:
OnePlus B2C Hotline
Repair text from repair center
Legacy data deleted
Functional test conducted
Settings set
Software update conducted
They just changed something in the software part! It is a hardware problem, changing OS won't help at all!
At this point I don’t know anymore.
OnePlus “scammed” me, more then a week of wait and the issue isn’t even fixed.
I lost my trust in OnePlus.

You had me at reddit, post teh OP forum & reddit links to this post here.
A little sadness for your story, on the other side when I had a problem on my OPX, the front speaker was broken, they picked up my phone and in 7 working days it came back perfect!!
So I don't know.. maybe you can ask the costumer service for a replacement?
Anyway in my case they were really gently with me, hope for you too!
Same **** for me..
My charging port was somehow dead (the cable was very loose inside the port and phone only charged in a specific cable position), so I contacted OnePlus.
I was surprised how fast everything was going. Day 1 Request, Day 2 E-Mail with freigth label and delivery note, Day 3 UPS came by and took my package, Day 6 or 7 phone was back.
Then I opened the package and saw the excact same note from the repair company as you did..
I only charged it two times since the coming back (which went perfectly fine, no matter in which position the cable was?!?) and didn't really used it so I have to see if the problem is still really existing or there happened some voodoo **** which made my charging port working properly after doing some software reseting?
What ever, kinda the same experience that you encountered..

I agree that OnePlus support is horrendous.
We have the following issue:
Basically if you reboot the phone, 9 times out of 10 there will be absolutely no signal whatsoever on the 3 UK network, the phone will just state emergency calls only. This happens on both 3G and 4G, but we usually have 4G turned off as there are not many areas within our region that support 4G yet. If you search Available Networks 3 doesn't show up.
Usually leaving the phone for hours the signal will come back, but sometimes it can be fixed by going into the Test Menu by putting *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer and going to Phone Information -> Toggling the Radio off and On a few times, but this doesnt work every time. My LG G4 is also on the Three network, so I have tried putting both SIMS's in the OnePlus X at the same time and the same issue occurs in both SIM Slots. If I put a Vodafone SIM in as well as the Three SIM, the Vodafone SIM works absolutely fine, regardless of the SIM slot it goes in, but it maintains a signal each time. The problem isnt signal in the area as we have full signal in our house. If I put my wife's SIM into my LG G4 it works absolutely fine 100% of the time.
I've exported various catlogs/modem logs and they have absolutely no interest in assisting.
Community Build 1 it worked flawlessly, but Community Build 2 its not working again. Their recommended fix is to use the Community Build 1 for the forseable...
Can see this phone will be getting sold and replaced with something else.
Little Update to my problem:
I made some tests today, my charging problem still exists. It only charges in a specific position.. I guess I have to fix it on my own :/

ZTE customer NO service

I did not learn my lesson! It took ZTE more than 30 days to repair my first Axon 7 (hard bricked, would not power up). Instead of giving up, I bought a second one only to find out that the Camera and Flashlight App (not the camera flashlight) does not work (error message "can't connect to camera, etc...."). I contacted ZTE customer service and after resetting phone to factory, deleting data/cache, etc. did not work, agent created an RMA, I shipped the phone to ZTE on 8/21, they received it on 8/24. Whenever I try to check the status of the repair online, I receive "invalid log in, contact administrator". I reported it, still not resolved.
I contacted customer service on Friday the 8/25 to make sure they received the phone, they confirmed receipt. I contacted them again on Thursday the 8/31 to check status, I was told that phone is in "Assess" stage and it will ship in 3.5 days. I contacted them again 2 days ago, 9/4 to see if it has shipped, the agent responded that the info given to me before was NOT correct, the phone is only in "Received" status and has not even been assessed! So to be blunt, the agents I communicated with before were making things up, basically lying! She promised to follow up and escalate the issue to find out why the delay. She also promised that some one will contact me by phone or email within the next 2 to 3 days. The moral of the story, don't believe everything that customer service agents tell you! In the past, their excuse was "no parts, no replacement phones", I wonder what their excuse is this time.

This is the usual rant. Pretty much customer support office out there is actual crap. They said OnePlus's was hideous, I had lots of trouble with Google's Motorola, heard some stuff about Samsung too...
I don't have customer support here, (bought it in Thailand, live in Argentina ) but I'm grateful that I didn't have any hardware trouble. I DFU-bricked it but managed to get it back to life via disassembly and all.
Hope for the best... But we all know how bad customer support is. There are a bunch of threads that say basically the same.
Sorry to hear you got screwed. Maybe I've been lucky, but ZTE Axon customer service has been good. I've RMA'd 2 phones for the camera OIS problem and both time have been efficient. I did the advanced exchange on both and they went okay. The second phone they advance exchanged it without putting any hold on my card.
pt
Yes I had no issues with them either. Hell both of the times I called them the operator seemed to actually be located in the USA
I am still waiting for the promised email/phone call. If I don't get anything by the end of the day, I will contact them again. I am happy that someone had a good experience with them, as for me, this is my second nightmare!

Samsung S8 - Failed Encryption - Reset doesn't work - Bad Samsung customer Service

My daughter has a 14 month old Samsung S8, it's not rooted, unlocked... it's running the stock ROM.
For no apparent reason it has developed an "Encryption failed" error and offers the option to Reset only. That's fine and we tried it, it didn't work..... we tried in Recovery mode, again no good... still have the Encryption failed error.
So we took it to a Samsung Service Centre here in the UK (EE in Bluewater). Straight away they said.... ah, it has a crack in the screen.... that might be the problem. There is a small crack across the bottom corner, but the screen is fully functioning. They did try to flash the phone with a new rom, apparently with a Samsung official tool.... I think they called it SamVer?? but that didn't work so they went on to say we would have to pay.
I then spoke to Samsung and they explained they would repair the phone but the screen would have to be replaced because they wouldn't be able to refit the damaged screen. I was obviously not happy about this as I think the issue is likely to be the motherboard or an OTA update they've pushed out. Samsung Customer Support said they would call me back tonight before 10pm (it's now 10:17pm). So I've not happy and no further forward with this phone.
Sorry to ramble on about this but it would be really helpful to be armed with a bit more information if anyone else here has had a similar problem or have had Samsung basically twisting their arm to pay for an unnecessary repair to repair a faulty phone?
Any help would be gratefully received.
